M.Daytime: good, near the park, ice cream van, suitable for children.
Night-time: avoid "amorous activity" hotspot. Once it's dark, especially in the winter, you see quite a few cars parked with no lights - except their brake lights. The road entrance is small and has sparse lighting; the actual car park is pitch black (surrounded by trees). Even driving past, it's clear what people are doing.

M. U.Riverside is quite a large car park with a small children’s play area at one end.
Car park does get busy as it’s a good starting point for a walk along Woodmill river.
If you cross the road ahead of you there’s a nice walk along to Cobden Bridge where there’s a skateboard park, basketball court and plenty of other activities going on.
Woodmill activity centre is a couple of minutes walk away where I believe you can go canoeing or paddle boarding.

R. T. (. W.There's a height restriction of 2m, it's free and it is very convenient for Riverside Park and the footpath along the banks of the River Itchen. Various recycling bins tend to overflow and look scruffy, but are potentially useful too. The biggest concern is safety and security, particularly after dark, as the car park is a little secluded and not as well lit as it could be.

Sometimes an ice cream van is there.
D. M.AMAZING and a lovely path which can take you...and your bike...till Winchester surrounded by nature and a small river.
D. S.Lovely walk alongside the river, on tarmac path. People walking dogs, fishing and enjoying the sunshine. Trees are beautiful on opposite bank. River flowing very fast at the moment, so hold onto your little children. Swans, ducks and crows to feed, and follow you. Free car park.
