Reviews of Longton Park
J. S.
This is such a beautiful park, with a lot of history behind it. It’s perfect for a walk in any season, but at this time of year it’s very quiet, with just the swans, geese, coots, ducks and squirrels for company.
It’s a very well established park, with lots of different paths and areas to walk through and enjoy. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and get back to nature for a short time.
S. H.
Large, tidy, well looked after park. Has a play area which is great for kids , green areas to sit on, a mini lake with lots of ducks, large mature trees, very scenic. You can spend a while here walking round, especially with kids. Looks beautiful in spring 🌺
J. B.
Nice park in Longton area of Stoke on Trent, also known as Queens Park. It's got tennis courts, lakes, children's play area, bowling greens, cafe, a bandstand, skate park and toilets. There's lots of open green areas for picnics or sunbathing and wooded areas for shaded walks. You can park for free along Queens Park Avenue.
s. o.
Always fun feeding the squirrels monkey nuts by hand! Great couple f hrs well spent 👍😊

First visit to Longton park while visiting family. Well kept park. Clear pathways with easy access for buggy & wheelchair users. Toilet facilities at both ends of the park. Variety of play areas for all ages. Tennis & basket ball courts. Lots of places in & out of the shade to sit, benches or grassed areas. Large pond with varied wild foul who cone up close to be fed 'NOT WITH BREAD' please, but with bird food. Thank you!! Plenty of space to play ball games on the grass, picnic or just watch the world go by. Will definitely be visiting again ☺️

The layout of this park is great. Lovely lakes, quite a few birds on the water, and a variety of spaces catering for everyone.
Shame about the lack of maintenance. Pushing wheel chairs or pushchairs along some of the paths is no fun for sure. Not very pleasant for the passenger either. The toilets are pretty rough and often closed.
There's a small cafe in a nice little spot. Basic, but a welcome addition to the park, with nice staff.
All in all, and considering the economy and numerous other problems, still a lovely park to visit.
T. O.
After quite a few years of not visiting we had gentle amble round Longton Park today. Parking on the road today at around 10am was easy.
I'm in a wheelchair at the moment but access was very easy and one can drive through the top gates a nd oar just inside if that's needed.
Unfortunately some of the tarmac paths are in a pretty bad state which made it a tad uncomfortable at times.
There's a very smart looking cafe near the bandstand now which was quite busy.
Generally it's all fairly well kept and looking tidy.
This being a Monday morning maybe made all the difference but it proved very enjoyable and pleasant.
Sitting on one of the many benches around the big pool enjoying the ducks and geese and chatting to passers by was a joy.
All in all a lovely, pleasant morning of relaxation.
The only fly in the ointment for us was as said the state of some of the paths but unfortunately this is standard across the city when you're disabled.
S. E.
Lovely walk, obviously managed and well used by the community.
Lots of cheeky squirrels ❤️
S. W.
Lovely tidy park, with a great children's playground. A lake and tame squirrels you can feed nuts to, if you bring some. A very reasonable priced café, that is run by volunteers that help people gain employment skills.
P. G.
A lovely Park with plenty of walking paths. Very good for just walking or for families, dog walkers. Two lakes with lots of ducks and geese. Plenty of open space. Play areas.
D. W.
Super park. Loads of stuff to do; walk around, play in the playground, they have tennis courts and basketball courts. Lovely duckpond and a cafe. Nice bit of green in the middle of Stoke.
A. B.
It is an absolutely fantastic facility. Lovely environment to take a walk and numerous items of equipment provided free of charge promoting exercise and fitness. Well done to the local council. 👍
j.
It's such a lovely place to walk, lots of seating available. Lots of Canada Geese the footpaths are getting full of droppings, not very nice when you are with small children. Away from the lakes though it is very nice and peaceful.
A. L.
Great Park to go to. Has a pool with ducks to feed. Has squirrels too feed. Benches and bins and well cut grass to lie on. Children's play area is quite big. There's ice cream vans around as well when the weather is ok
J. B.
Beautiful well kept park , Great lake in the middle with a big water fountain in the middle nice to take a walk or just sitting taking in the view , And defo not forgetting the cheeky geese , ducks & swans to see
D. L.
The park is well kept and an enjoyable place to take the grandkids. Although the cafe was reasonably priced the ice cream van near the children's Play area (inside the park) was expensive at £3.00 for an ice cream!
S. H.
Lovely park with great walking routes.
Nice family atmosphere so felt safe.
Even saw local PCSO's walking around which was reassuring.
a. s.

A. M.
Lovely park with loads of bird life and squirrel s all hungry for food! Also very tidy at moment with very little litter in evidence! Children's play area in good condition.
a. T.
We went to see the ducks and to get a walk around the park. A dull, damp November day but a few folk around, and their dogs. Cafe was open for take away drinks and light snacks.
C. M.
A lovely municipal park, full of Autumn colour on the day of our visit.
A lovely place to get exercise, see the birds and squirrels, admire the planting and maybe have a cuppa in the tea room.
Unfortunately, no public toilets open when we were there, which made things very awkward for my elderly mother.
We didn't get to see everything as we had to leave to find conveniences.
S. T.
A Good park to relax as u walk the dog see the geese chasing the ducks from each of the lakesides good size park for the kids inside us all.
m. f.
I drive across the city to visit this park, walk around with the animal, get a hot choccy and then an ice cream. Went on Easter bank hol Monday, and parking was not immediate but a street or two away.
J. M.
Absolutely love this park, although it's officially called Queens Park, everyone in the city call it Longton Park. Its the one of the biggest parks in the city and has to fantastic lakes, there is plenty of wildlife, bowling greens, play areas for the children, a small skate park, a band stand, tennis courts and other bits and pieces, I come quite often as I only live a 10 min walk away. Beautiful area and if you see the park workers they are friendly and will happily help
K. B.
Lovely day Grandchildren fed the squirrels and enjoyed the playground.
Cafe now open again food is good coffee nice and hot
K. P.
This is a really beautiful place with a little something for everyone. The excitement of hand feeding the Squirrels is an experience.
K. D.
Wonderfull place to visit. 2 pools, lots of wildlife, lots of benches, children's play area, and a cafe
J. G.
Lovely park with good facilities for children and plenty of space for family picnics and ball games
C. F.
Really nice, clean and tidy. Lots of people about. Seems to be work going on in certain areas but not detrimental to the experience. Will be even better in the summer
S. H. C.
What is Happening to Longton Park.
The WEEDS ARE KILLING THE PLANTS!!! IF IT'S FOR ECONOMICAL REASONS.
IT'S NOT ECONOMICAL TO LET THE PARK DETERIORATE IN SUCH A FASHION. HORRENDOUS TO SEE.
IT WILL TAKE FAR MORE MONEY TO DRAG IT BACK FROM THE BRINK, THAN TO KEEP ON TOP OF IT!
SHOCKING TO OBSERVE.
A Great place to walk and enjoy this Fantastic Park.
A well maintained asset for the people of Stoke on Trent. A café on site as well now, if you want to pause for a coffee and a snack, there's a café with an outside deck to take in the beauty of the park whilst you enjoy your coffee and cake.
Highly recommended.
G. G.
Beautiful park especially in the spring and summer months. The flowers are gorgeous got some gr8 photos for instagram. They have brillent fun days in the summer with fairs, climbing ect. There are two park areas for the kids one aimed at older kids one at younger. A lovely place to spend a couple of hours.
J. H.
Excellent, well kept park. Tennis, skateboarding, gym area needs a bit of TLC. 2 children play areas . 2 lakes, lots of squirrels running around. It caters for all the family. There are toilets at the top of the park. Ice cream van is there under normal circumstances. Love going here.Free car parking outside the park
Z. M.
Fab time for the armed forces day. Kids had a great time and the fair wasn’t expensive either. Great time had by all!
M. D.
Nice place to go. Park for the kids, good place for a run and open fields for a game of football. They always have events going on throughout the year. They have also put some money into it recently - relaid some paths and opening a snackbar/cafe soon.
V. J.
This is a lovely, clean and safe park for the whole family including the dog. It's a good walk around with a fantastic park for the younger and older ones. There are excersise facilities and courts along with a cafe and beautiful gardens.
Y. M.

This park is absolutely beautiful. Its always busy with dog walkers and families. Most people will say hello and outside somewhere I go very often I can't recommend this highly enough.
D. G.
Great city Park, well looked after and plenty of wildlife including the squirrel below that let me take his picture. Good playground for kids
R. W.
It's a really beautiful park. We enjoy walking the dogs around, seeing the water is relaxing and the fall leaves during winter time are so pretty. It's a nice sized park and we're glad we found it. The dogs really enjoy going, and we like to see all the squirrels running around.
T. A.
Possibly the best park in Stoke on trent loads of things to do especially for the kids & grandkids
m. 3.
What an absolutely stunning park beautifully maintained loads of benches no litter anywhere beautiful wildlife everywhere grab your monkey nuts has theres loads of squirrels everywhere and come right up to you full of friendly people beautiful waterfalls the only downfall to this place is the new cafe.... its absolutely tiny today there was no tables left so god help it in summer but it is very cheap menu with plenty on oatcakes/scones/toast/teas/coffes/chocolates/cakes
Park areas very good for the kids plenty to play one maybe the smaller kids park could do with a good jet wash clean down maybe this is done in the run up to summer time
Can not wait to return esp for summertime
The notice board say that they host a lot of events
Brilliant for dogs if you are a dog walker great place to go loads of running feilds
L. F.
Lot's of various sport facilities, cafe, toilets and a pleasant walk round the lake.

D. G.
One of our children s favourite parks..plenty of area to run around, beautiful sceneries, lake, plants and vegetation -stunning!there s always an ice cream van around ,too !
A.
There is good aspects and bad aspects to longton park, the good is the huge kids playground, the large amount of open spaces, generally clean grounds, tennis courts and out door gym equipment. However the park has some areas where the pavements are in serious disrepair and are extremely damaged. This is dangerous for the elderly and children playing. There is also a serious pest problem with the large amount of very brave squirrels which need a little bit of population control in the park. Many of the beautifully kept flower beds are now full of weeds and the lovely open lake area is now dirty and cloudy due to lack of water treatment.
The park needs some TLC but it's still a great place for your kids to play.
T. H.
Lovely place to take the kids or walk the dog and now it has a cafe.
J. E.
Lovely park well maintained by public community and local authoritie.
K. P.
Lovely park, people are quiet friendly but does get very full.. lake is lovely so are the gardens.. in summer take ya purse for the ice cream van, but be warned as most know treble the price for your 99p cone

As beautiful as always!
W. H.
This park is fantastic! One of my favourites! It has tones of green area for kids and adults alike to play on, a playground, friendly wildlife especially the squirrels who will come right up to you if you have some nuts. Great scenery including a waterfall, big ponds, bushes, trees etc and all well looked after. Public toilets and its a great place to cycle or for children to scooter around.
O. C.
Great park very clean and pretty good place to bring kids as there is a playground and some exercise equipment which you can spend a couple minutes on. Would not recommend going to the public toilets as they are disgusting and very unhygienic avoid at all costs or go before leaving. Quite hard to get a car park space so would recommend looking for a car park near by. Overall good experience.
E. G.
Excellent place to go for a walk, pic nic, outdoor activities, skating, biking, enjoy nature and beautiful backgrounds.
S. N.
Beautiful Park, plenty of different paths to walk, lakes, open fields and pretty gardens. 100s of squirrels to keep your 4 legged friends occupied!
P. S.
We just love having a stroll around Longton Park. We're very lucky to have it in the area.
Some days you can be lucky and catch the ice cream man.
The play areas for the kids are nice, even if they need a bit of TLC.
s. w.
Brilliant, lovely place with lots of wildlife.
T. S.
Lovely park. Often quiet. Wildlife including squirrels (some will feed from your hand), ducks, coots, moorhens, Canada geese and farm geese. Plenty of opportunities to feed them. The farm geese sometimes come on land so will surround you. The ducks will chase you around the lake in land if you have peanuts. Lovely selection of trees. It's not what it used to be if bowling and socialising is more your thing as other than some stuff for the kids those days are long gone. But if just like a pleasant green space with wildlife then it's a great place to walk and sit.
M.
Longton Park, also known as Queen's Park, is famous for its trees, horticulture and lakes. It has a very individual character and is one of the city's heritage parks. It houses a range of buildings including the clock tower and three bowling pavilions.
Skate Board Facilities
Skate facilities including ramps and rails.
Multi Use Sports and Tennis Courts
Three newly refurbished tennis courts complement the multi-use sports facilities, so Longton Park boasts some excellent ball courts.
A. W.
Great for a walk or a day out with the kids
M. I.
Lovely and peaceful park.
S. T.
Week day and park was full of grandparents with their children. Playground was good and outdoor gym free to use. Ice cream van in the park and also a cafe in a pavillion serving drinks and lunch (snacks to outdoor tables atm). My grandson was terrified of the squirrels though as they run towards you due to people feeding them and the cafe encourages this by selling nuts for them. The Canada geese are also growing in number which is a bit of a mess by the lake due to their droppings. All in all though we enjoyed it due to the nice weather. Large park with plenty of space to roam but parking is only available close by on residential streets so must be a bit of a nuisance if there is an event.
P. W.
There's lots of space and often fun activities going on. Perfect for all ages! Have access to toilets, tennis, kids mini gym and more!!! The lake is filled with dukes and it's nice to go down and feed them!
So photogenic and a perfect spot for photographers!!!
H.

Beautiful park! Very quiet and peaceful!
S. B.
Aways well kept. Path tarmac so easy to get around. Lots of woldlife
K. P.
Always a clean and well kept park. Nice to walk around and explore. They have 2 lakes with ducks on, football pitches, gym, table tennis, tennis and basketball facilities. There's also a cafe there now.
J. S.
Much quieter than I have seen it pre covid.
Social distancing in the playground.
Vast empty field for the dogs to romp.
Ducklings on the lake.
Didn't realise how many giant redwood trees this park has.
The elevated path is always pleasant
And when it's marginally wet there's virtually nobody there. Being able to count how many other users on one hand in such a vast expanse of green during the Summer is usually unheard of ; a couple of kids in the playground and 3 fishermen... 😁 Not even any stray cows from the neighbouring field...
I enjoy watching the swifts gliding and darting gracefully about 2ft above the field catching insects on the wing.
A. K.
Lovely walk if you've got a dinosaur to chase off the geese😉
N. B. (.
Love it here. Perfect Sunday morning with the family and the dog.
I. J.
A fabulous well kept park with very little litter about. Swans and ducks on the lake and squirrels everywhere. Well worth a walk around and enjoy some peaceful times
M. C.
Good open space and a playground ghat our grandchildren enjoy, particularly a huge climbing pyramid. But neglected with minimal maintenance and cleaning, all the bowling greens abandoned.
P. B.
Such a tranquil place to be. Always lovely people here and great for a picnic. Lots of spots for skate boarding including a small skate park with a few ramps
M. H.
Great park. Fantastic day out. Lots of squirrels and ducks to feed. Had a bit of a tidy up with the plants.
C. N.
Nice local park, regular dog walkers usually have a doggy focused chat and pass the time if day, small dog friendly cafe too by the bandstand.
B. J.
Spacious park with plenty of paths and lots to see and do.
M. B.
Lovely park very clean nice play area for children toilets for when covid isn't around nice little bandstand and plenty of space to have a picnic and also lots of benches for a rest very impressed 1st time here and not the last.
S. J.
Love it, get out and stretch your legs, or feed the ducks. Walk the dog. The choice is yours.
K. T.

P. W.
A real hidden gem in Stoke-on-Trent! Gorgeous park with lots of space, play equipment and sports courts.
Feeding the squirrels is a funny experience.
New café looks clean and very fairly priced.
Small skatepark and lots of paths for bike riding.
Awesome park!
M. D.
A beautiful park that is being well maintained. The facilities are great for my three year old daughter and give us great opportunities to bond. We come quite regularly and she adores not only the wide open spaces but also the wildlife.
M. J.
Did you know this park has recently won an award for best kept gardens and outstanding beauty.
I have been going here since I was a kid. I've taken my own kids here and my grandkids as well. I now walk my dogs here and have loved the place for many, many years. I highly recommend that you all do the same.
A. S.
I should definitely revisit here in the summer. Looked quite serene to be fair. A few ponds inhabited by certain wildlife of who's information you can read on various posts in the park.
Don't forget to take some nuts for the squirrels also. They hop towards you with keen expectations when they see you.
There's also lush greenery for those picnics in the British weather.
Worth a revisit.
W. S.
Lovely play ground and a great little cafe
I. C.
Love this place, lovely cafe where you can get anything from cream tea in fact we had 4 cream teas, lovely cup of tea a big scone, clotted cream and delicious jam all for 10 pound and its one of the most well kept parks with 2 lakes and fantastic views. Ian
S. J.
Great place to walk the dog and stretch your legs. Plenty of seats around the park, very enjoyable place to visit.
L. V. H.
This is a nice and quanit little park with plenty of activities for the kids. The play park itself is good and the kids love it. Might need a few fixes with some holes in the grounds which could cause a lot of trouble when children aren't paying attention but overall this is a nice little place. They have another play park next to it for older children which is good too.
C. L.
Lovely park on the road to Longton. Nice to walk around the lakes or just hear the birds on the trees, and take time out to distress from a hard week. The grounds are well maintained by the grounds men, and there is always something to see. There is a play area for the little ones and some keep fit equipement I believe, if you want to work that stress off. Sadly there are no toilets or a cafe to round things off completely.
P. B.
Love it here, flat, well kept. Park for kids.
T. G.
A lovely spralling park that just keeps going and going. Walk round the pond, play on the park, use the open air gym, have a game of tennis, grab yourself a super-cheap oatcake and a cuppa from the café and then catch the ice cream van. Perfect for all ages and abilities.
G. H.
Lovely park. Well kept. Busy and popular. 2 lakes and paths to walk around. Lots of friendly ducks and squirrels. Free parking on the road.
B. S.
Quite a well maintained park, the beautiful landscape and multiple gardens, the small lakes, long clean walkways allowing up to 1.5miles plus walk without going second round, the lawn tennis courts and some other sport courts etc. I've been there a second time and will still visit it before I leave my son that I'm visiting.
m. c.
Had a lovely afternoon at Longton park with my 2yr old grandson, feeding the ducks, and swans then playing in recreation area.
L. B.
This is our favourite park. We visit at least once a week. Fab size park, wide parks, several lakes, bridges, well kept, play area and skate park. Plus toilets and a small new cafe. Plenty of parking along the roadside
K. J. S.
Beautiful park ! Gorgeous scenery and perfect place to take dogs for a walk. There's lots to do for all ages.!
There's a couple of parks to cater for younger and older kids. An exercise section with lots of exercise equipment. Tennis courts, basketball court, table for ping pong. Just have to bring your own balls and rackets etc.
Theres a big pond to feed the swans and ducks. There's also a skate ramp for the kids to bring their bikes, scooters and skateboard. Plenty of room for picnics and to play and ball games.
a.
Great place to visit. Relax, walk, run, cycle or play. There are hard tennis courts, 2 multi use areas, a lake, bowling greens and fabulous landscapes
D. T.
Great Park and fields. Skatepark let it down, not enough there. Toilets are functioning, but extremely unhygienic 🤢
C. H.
Nice park with a couple of play areas for children. Nice walks. There is a lot of birds on the water and benches for you to sit on around. There is a kiosk selling snacks and drinks etc. Free parking outside.
S. W.
Longton park is looking thread bare. It looks neglected. It is not as I remenber in the 60s & 70s. It is digrace. There vere very few people in the during our visit. The toilets are in.a disgraceful state. The Stoke-on-Trent Council should be ashamed of themselves.
.
p. b.
Beautiful park. Great kids playground for kids of all ages. Great for walking the dogs as the circumference of the park is over 1 mile. You have to park the car at the side of the park but on busy days it becomes full.
a. w.
Longton Park is a Victorian Park that is great to walk around. There are play areas for both toddlers and older children. We visit with our grandkids taking monkey nuts to feed the numerous squirrels that will take them from your fingertips which the kids love. Duck food for the ducks and Canadian Geese is a must. We love it for its peace and tranquility. They are in process of converting one of the buildings into a cafe which will be great
D. C.
Huge area to have a stroll either on your own, with the children or the dog. Big play area. Tennis/ basketball courts. First time ive been but would definitely go back again.
N. N.
Our puppy loves it there and we try to go once or twice in the week if weather permits
L. k.
Pretty gardens nice walk and a skate ramp for the kids. Soft play area also good for kids of all ages
A. G.
Always a lovely walk on a sunny day.
B. R.
Lovely park, playground could do with some TLC and avoid the ripoff ice cream van!
P. T.
One of the best places earth. It is such a shame more people don't use it so much. It has a recreation area. Football pitches.skateboard park, fitness area. 2 lakes for the fisherman. Bowling greens, Lots of seats, so many picnic spots and a bandstand. It's really worth a visit.
C. M.
Nice park gets busy in the summer and sunny day nice the cafe open now and ice cream man always makes a appearance when the sun's out X
H. W.
The pavilion cafe being open adds to what is a beautiful park. Watch yourself underfoot, as some of the paths are a little worse for wear. Well worth a visit and a really good example of a victorian park.
T. R.
Lovely park, brilliant children play area, although could do with a splash / paddle area in the summer like the one in Stafford park.
Also a sand pit area.
There are no public toilets!!!
We had to let our 3 year old wee behind a bush twice not good enough!!!
D. M.
A lovely place to spend the day.
We played tennis and had a walk around the park.we had a cuppa there, but there weren't any tolets open.
K. K.
Lovely huge park with lots of different areas.
You can feed the squierrls over by the bowling green and memorial garden. There is ducks and geese too in various ponds.
There is public toilets but whether they are still open and times etc I'm unsure.
They hold events in the park such as Armed Forces Day parade.
Well looked after but some paths are a bit uneven and getting broken up in places which made it a bit tricky in places for me as I'm blind and use a cane but on the whole not an issue.
Great looking pretty park.
K. W.
Nice park. Lots of space. Good play areas for different ages of children. Nice walks. A river and some ponds.
C.
Couldn't ask for more in a free local park. Pretty lakes and a small cafe with cheap snacks and drinks.
J. S.
Always go here conker picking, nice stroll around the park with a lot of over friendly squirrels that will feed from the hand
W. M.
Brilliant park. Nice playground for children. Lake with ducks. Little cafe with drinks and snacks.
R. L.
Lovely park with two lakes and a lovely new cafe
J. O. D.
Nice place good fishing
S. J.
Beautiful and extensive. A well maintained park full of space, charm and insight. With different areas to suit all from those wanting a relaxing walk by the bandstand, lake and stream whilst tfeeding the ducks, to families enjoying the playgrounds, playing fields and skatepark. Bring a picnic and you can stay all day.
G. L.
Beautiful park with play areas or sit quietly watching the ducks on the pond. If you are lucky an ice cream man will appear to complete your day. Had a lovely morning with family
B. P.
Beautiful park 😊 lots to do, there's the playground, outdoor gym, lake, skate park, playing fields, bandstand a new cafe in progress, and lots of walks. The squirrels are tame enough to come up to you if you rustle in a bag! My favourites 😊
W. O.
Excellent place for a little family walkabout,
M. D.
Didn't realise how big the park was!
Can get busy, but large enough to find a quiet space if needed.
J. B.
A beautiful place to enjoy visually and for relaxation, or for somewhere to do your daily exercise. Despite covid 19 the gardens appear to have been kept well. Very enjoyable.
A. C.
Lovely Autumn walk with my wife and our dog Ty, Park clean and tidy lots of other dog walkers all being well behaved, managed to get a lovely hot chocolate from the new Aynsley tea room 😀 yum yum x
G. D.
Nice park, very diverse
S. E.
Lovely park some of the play equipment was broke but the park is well looked after and the squirrels are very tame so the kids loved feeding them. They had a great time.
C. S.
Beautiful peaceful park
T. J.
Lovely open area with lots of paths and seats. Sat and watched the wildlife around the lake.
M. S.
Lovely park to walk and to see nature but my little one prefers the children playarea tho.
S. L.
Great park to come with the family. Well maintained and has good facilities. Park, pond somewhere nice to sit on a sunny day and have a picnic. The park itself has good play equipment suitable for a range of ages.
A. E.
Armed forces day
A. W.
This is the nicest of all our historic local parks, and probably the most popular, as there is always something going on here. Beautiful lakes, plenty of places to sit and relax, nice gardens and an ideal place for that healthy daily walk.
C. L.
Classic Stoke on trent Park. Great for kids of all ages and adults too.
They have a play area for younger children and a separate playground for older children.
Most days there is an ice-cream van parked next to the playground, by the clock.
Across from the playground is a outdoor gym great for all ages and abilities. Next to that is the tennis/badminton courts. They also provide areas for bowling, football pitches, basketball and netball courts and a skate/bmx Park area (at the top right of the park).
They have two large ponds with a variety of bird life, fish and wildlife. Fishing is permitted, I assume with the correct licence. There is also two small waterfalls next to the bridges.
There is plenty of space and paths to walk(some a little deteriorated in places).
All of the trees, shrubs, grass, borders and planted flower displays are beautiful and well maintained throughout the seasons, which is a credit to the gardening team.
They have a bandstand with a large tarmac area around it which is great for learning your child to ride a bike and a fabulous stage for those who like an audience when they sing and dance.
The park has benches and seating dotted at regular intervals but not much shelter from the sun. It has bins in desig areas.
You can feed the swans, geese and other birds but on some days they have already been feed a lot of bread so would recommend wild bird seed and also nuts for the squirrels which are in abundance.
Toilets are located at either end of the park. The most convenient one if you have children is the one nearest the pond area, but if your taking a stroll around the whole park the one at the top (a few minutes from the skate park) is great also.
Parking is allocated on the road next to the park with limited disabled spaces.
The park holds special events from time to time such as Teddy bear picnic, fun days, supporting the armed forces, small music events on the bandstand. But would love to see more.
Overall its a wonderful park that has entertained generation after generation. Great for everyone.
C. H.
Nice Park, great for the kids
B. C.
Great to take kids to park and feed the ducks and squirrels, and lots of nice gardens and seats to sit
P. H. (.
great place for a walk around plus park for kids lovely ponds to feed the ducks and if you take some nuts the squirrels will come and take them
J. R.
Like all parks in Stoke on Trent it's a shadow of its former self but it looked like it's having work done to improve it and it's still a nice place to visit and walk around
D. S.
Beautiful but beware of the dog muck that people have not moved. Also toilets were still closed when we visited.
L. D.
Best park in the City. Gardens amazing, loads if wildlife, outdoor gym, tennis courts, lovely play area and excellent community cafe
S. T.
Great place for children and dog walkers. Good play park and a café currently offering take out.
A. O.
Great place for a good walk.
A. H.
Lovely place for a morning walk with the dog & friendly wildlife, be prepared to meet plenty of dogs on their morning outing, but plenty of paths to divert if your dog is of nervous disposition. Just wish their was a cafe their, but they are building something so who knows!!
A. S.
A lovely well kept park. Lots of space to walk around and good expanses of grass to use too. Busy today- nice that it is being used do much.
D. B.
Really nice park. Nice play area and enjoyed seeing all the geese.
N. B.
Of all the parklands in this confederate city, this is, in my humble opinion, the finest. Not only is there no shortage of space, but much in the way of contrasting focal points, flora, and facilities.
Those who originally granted this space to the public of Stoke on Trent, certainly did much to consider the welfare and needs of everyday folk, and many decades since, this is a benevolent provision for all who visit.
N. R.
Great place to take the kids as the play ground is very child friendly and is good for parents too as you have a good view of the whole area and is easy to make sure your children are safe, it's also great for having a nature walk as it has some beautiful areas round the ponds with some lovely wildlife!
D. F.
A must place to go if you like to walk beautiful place to spend the day with a picnic just make sure the squirrel does not want to join you 🐿🐿
w. b.
Always used to go as a child, now we're going with our grandchildren. It's always been a favourite place of mine.
T. E.
A good place to visit for a stroll, only criticism is there are a few dog walkers who think its OK not to clean up after their pooch, if you can't clean it up don't own the dog.
D.
Great place, go most weekends, ideal for children lots to do.
K. B.
Tranquil areas, shaded areas, wildlife, play and exercise areas with a lovely lake. Tennis court, bowling and bandstand. If you follow the path all the way around the perimeter it is roughly a mile per lap.
m. a.
Great for dog walkers kids sports people and now a cafe up here as well fantastic place
C. C.
Lovely park, but why is it taking so.long to complete the cafe? Shld have been open at Easter, summer revenue wasted. Is this Stoke Council dragging their heels? 😠Enough time to build a housing estate!!
H. B.
Lovely park although children's play areas need upgrading
K. W.
Beautiful park with large open space and lots of play equipment. Only downside is the toilets with no loo roll or working locks on the door. Taps and air dryers were broken also.
r. s.
One of the most clean well kept parks iv ever been to buttiful walks and feeding the squirrels by hand made my day a must for all the family 10 out of 10
A. J.
Lovley well maintained Park. Grateful for all the family. Lots of wild life with some very friendly squirrels
J. S.
AKA Queen's Park and Victoria Park. As the name suggests it is a Victorian era park with some wonderful mahoosive specimen trees. Two large ponds separated by a waterfall. Playground, tennis courts, wee skateboarding ramp. Elevated walk along one side. Fishing (presumably by permit only). Band stand, large area of grassland for dogs and humans to let off steam. Needs some decent toilets and a tearoom!
J. W.
Just love Longton Park with its Victorian feel. Beautifully maintained with an array of plants and trees. Even the waterfowl look happy.
P. T.
Was a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The park was quiet and the weather was good. The park was tidy and well maintained.
J. D.
There seems to be an obsession with cutting down mature trees in the park and replacing with bushes and flower beds. If this continues there will be no mature trees left in the park (at least three are lost every year) This park should think about replacing like for like when trees are lost to maintain and improve the visitor experience
M. B.
Very well kept and so much to see, love just strolling around and sitting by the lakes watching the wildlife.
G. R.

Great park. Toilets are locked though which is a pain. They could really do with a cafe here, and decent toilets!
