Reviews of Parc Singleton Park
L. T.
Wonderful place to visit, plenty of open space. Within the grounds there's a Botanical Gardens which was fabulous. I would have spent more time walking around but it was too hot. I was surprised to find the public toilets locked but found a disabled loo in the Botanical Garden
R. W.
Fabulous large green space in Swansea that offers opportunity to walk, cycle, view the superb Botanical walled Gardens and just enjoy this lovely parkland. Currently there is a food area at the lower edge of the park by Mumbles road. Coffee can be bought at Swiss cottage If you cross the main road from Singleton park, you will have views of Mumbles Head.
T. S.
A great park...a delightful walk down through a wooded landscape, with plenty of open spaces for the dog.
Worth a visit is the beautiful Tropical Gardens - plants and trees, beautifully tended and carefully labelled.
Alas, dogs cannot pass through the beautiful hand wrought craftsman created decorative gates, of the Tropical Gardens.
But the rest of the park is a delight for humans and animals alike...reaching the bottom of the park, Swansea Bay shimmers in front of you and the beach beckons...
L. M.
A big green park full of dog walkers and friendly locals. As a student it is situated perfectly next to the university so when the weather allows for it, I can study anywhere on the park. In the summer it has just the right amount of footfall so it doesn't seem too busy but at the same time you never feel isolated or alone. A wonderful park! If you're lucky you can catch a festival or band playing.
T. D.
Beautiful park and a lovely little botanical gardens
E. T.
Great park with loads of room and walking paths for me and the dog. Love meeting others on our walks and also to find quiet places to enjoy the green space.
C. C.
Lovely park with great open space for walking dogs, running, picnics or walking! Great botanical gardens inside too.
C. P.
Perhaps more of a funfair and car boot sale than a typical car show. It was good though. 6 quid to get in and everything there is charged on top, it was the funfair of the Studt family so all good quality stuff for the kids.
Parking wasn't an issue and even at peak times, queues in and out weren't too bad either, bit tricky for really low cars but those of us lowered come to expect that anyway.
J. P.
Spectacular park near Swansea's main beach. Trees are incredible to see and the botanic gardens are breathtaking
N. L.
Great car show and weather was mostly OK.
M. W.
It's a versatile park, peace and tranquility, yet brilliant for gigs, fayres and sport. Picnic, dog/family/wheelchair friendly. Several different grounds in one!
C. T.
A very well maintained park which has lots of different element. If you want to jog, walk, push a pram or wheelchair it has good tarmac paths. Want to observe the beautiful rolling fields and a sea view-go to the top of the park. Enjoy the botanic and ornamental gardens, the roses/tulips/wysteria put on a great show. Walk your dog down by the stream or appreciate the size of the trees. There are also public toilets at top end of park near the German chalet.
R. E.
We had a ball here yesterday, we went for the Jess Glynne concert. I like it here I have been many times before and it is a beautiful park. It has such pleasant views.
Obviously it was a bit busier than normal during the concert but we had such a great time
R. G.
One of Swansea's jewels in the crown, beautiful park, plenty of space for all too run free, have picnic in the park. interesting hot house with plants from around the world, Outside in the Park, attracts artists from far and wide and famous ones at that, big draw card, extremely popular. Down the bottom end you have a miniature golf course, boating lake with pedalos, also a restaurant. Well worth a visit, then stroll over to Brymill park, another smaller park but very pretty and enjoyable.
S. J. H.
Singleton Park for BBC Proms in the Park 2019 for the last
Night of the Proms with alive link up with the Other park events around the country and of course the Royal Albert Hall.
2nd time at his event, it’s totally family friendly and offers a great scope of music.

Great place, just needs better lighting and paths (as they get easily flooded)
M.
Lovely big park, lots of space for walking and dogs.
A. R.
Swansea's big park, always something new to see, spring time brings out Daffodils, crocus & the early Magnolia trees.
J. B.
Went to Singleton Park for Radio 1's Biggest weekend. Had a really great day. Especially as we got to see Taylor Swift!

P. R.
Stunning sunshine day park is busy with dog walkers and distancing groups enjoying the outdoors
D. S.
A beautiful municipal park. It has a botanic gardens which has several greenhouses, housing lots of plants from around the world. It's popular with walkers and students as backs onto the University grounds

Lovely spacious park leading to the beach .Lots to see including the glorious botanical and wild gardens.
Some inclines most most achievable for all .
G. L.
Went to watch the outdoor cinema, Grease sing a long, bring your own seating. It was a great experience.
P. B.
The botanical gardens are awesome. Public toilets. Large open expanses to explore. We happily walked around for 2 hours. We parked near the hospital for a few pounds. Nothing extortionate. Would go back again.
A. W.
Excellent Park for a nice walk big enough that it hosts some great events.
j. j.
Perfect for floral photography 🌼❤️
N. L.
This is the place to come for piece and quiet during evening time, a few people passing by with dogs and everyone is always pleasantly relaxed.... That's what this place does for you.
A. T.
4,8 the park is absolutely wonderful massive Leeds to The Mumbles as well has toilets and plenty of places for picnics and wooded area as well as Botanica Gardens it's massive and I would highly recommend it
D. T.
Absolutely beautiful as always, and no dog's mess for once. Toilets open again (Covid update). Well worth a visit.
M. R.
Best park in Swansea. Swansea council do a great job running all the parks in Swansea
j. l.
The park itself is excellent for walks picnics etc but the council have let the Swiss cottage go to rack and ruin. Also there was a few years ago a lovely little cafe next to it, that also disappeared. The council really need to have a look at this as so many locals and visitors use this park and is a great opportunity missed.
S. P.
A large area to walk around and see the wildlife, squirrels, birds or a occasional fox
T. D.
I suggest this park to all,.especially the botanical garden located in the middle of the park.
c. d.
Gorgeous place to walk or run with your dog.
Sit and relax in the ornamental gardens.
The gardens are exquisite especially the spring tulips.
Summer bands too
N. T.
Beautiful place. Love the gardens.

An awesome experience
H. P.
Very pretty dog friendly park, with plenty of space to walk
A. T.
Love coming here for a long walk.🙂
A. W.
A green urban oasis enhanced in recent years by reduced mowing and tree planting to improve biodiversity. A great place to lose yourself, at any time of year.
d. b. v.
Nice walks, nice flowers and plants
B. C.
Great place to get out away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Holds events throughout the year. Recently attended a fun run for charity there - good day out.
p. w.
Wonderful walking with the dogs beautiful gardens pleasure to be there
i. M.
One of the largest open air free acces parks in swansea with a botanical garden set separately inside a walled off area .
E. M.
Easy access by car, taxi or bus. Very windy because it is near sea There is a co-op market in Fulton House.Just outside is the bus stops.Easy access for people with mobility issues too!
W.
Visited for radio 1s biggest weekend. Really good event in a lovely setting

Lovley place to visit, if you take some nuts with you the squirrels will eat out of your hands ☺
B. G.
What a beautiful little place! A welcome retreat to get away from the lockdown blues! There are beautiful tree carvings here and plenty of toilets, I would highly recommend.
L. H.
Been visiting this place since I was a child now my granddaughter loves it too. Wide open space to run around and picnic. Highly recommended
E. H.
Nice size for a mini festival
G. J.
This is a delightful public park and gardens. The volunteers do a terrific job caring and working with the plants and gardens throughout the main botanical garden. Well worth a visit!
H.
Well looked after and a lovely place to walk/run/skip/climb a tree! Loved the rose garden my children loved it. We went when the prolific wild garlic and bluebells were in full swing - stunning, absolutely stunning!
E. K.
Perfect place to relax and take in the scenery. So accessible, near the seaside, the city centre..worthwhile on all counts
S. D.
Such a lovely park.
Beautiful flower, trees, wood carvings are fab.
It's very clean.
Well done too everyone that works there xx
P. G.
Swansea's biggest park. Please note - there is no children's playground here! However, a great space for a walk in the sun, picnic, rollerblading, cycling etc. Some lovely features such as the "giant's stones", Swiss chalet and botanical gardens.
Probably a park more for the mature generation so if taking kids make sure you take a football or frisbee!
One exit of singleton leads on to the entrance of Brynmill park (a great park for kids) and if you head all the way to the bottom of Singleton you are across the road from Swansea beach
B. P.
What a beautiful park and so close to town great views once you get to the top of the park ..ye bit of a hill .....
Their is disable parking in the park its self..but only 2 bays and is not easy to find
But well worth it ...
Will be going back soon ...
A. B.
Great place to walk around with your dog, there are streams grass fields and trees including a cycle path and tarmac walkway / path for disabled people. Has a small garden area with flowers and plants also there are some nice picnic areas ! Worth checking out during summer and spring!
J. C.
Great hiking trails. The Botanical Gardens are fantastic! If you are in Swansea, this place is a must-visit
G. B.
Amazing place for the Radio one biggest weekend 2018.
M. E.
I love this park, there are wide open grassy areas sorounded by trees with winding pathways. The botanical gardens are always immaculate and totally stunning. Great for a walk with the family or a picnic, such a beautiful place considering it vicinity to the city centre.
C. H.
Met up with family we hadn't seen for over a year, the park is so big it wasn't crowded although there were family's enjoying weather. Great place to visit.
R. G.
As a child I visited this park with my family often, a great place for children and adults alike. With regular shows and events held here it always has something to offer, especially during the summer, when the area surrounding is also very busy as it is in such close proximity to the beach. I would highly recommend a visit if you enjoy walking or are in the local area.
T. B.
Nice place to eat lunch and for a walk.
C. O.
Good open spaces with plenty of on road parking, Well maintained Botanical gardens, lake . No play area & only cafe facilities are out of bounds to dog walkers (shame,as dog walkers are there rain or shine 24/7) Well used by University students & just cross Mumbles Road, & you're on the Beach. Many big, outdoor events held in the park throughout the year.
G. N.
Stunning walks, you can spend all day walking about finding new nooks to explore. When open the botanical greenhouses are a must see
L. B.
Singleton Park is a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature at its best. A heaven for dogs who love splatting in the mud ponds and then rinsing off in clean flowing stream - it has Rustie's 5 star vote.
The Botanical Garden are stunning and better every year thanks to the efforts and TLC of the Friends of the Botanical Gardens. Many thanks to this energetic group.
S. J.
I have been visiting Singleton Park all of my life and it hasn't changed much it still a large open space. There are walled gardens which are very colourful. It is a place which hasn't been spoilt.
A. G.
Great park - lots of walks. Can be hilly depending on where you choose. Right next to Swansea Uni and also the Swansea seafront. Wide open spaces. Went to watch the International Cross Country races in Nov 2018, so cold but sunny. Not many eating places. Good parking facilities at weekends. Worth a visit.
L. K.
I love this park, one of our favourite location in Swansea. It is advisable to visit when it's nice and dry so you can enjoy the beauty of the park.
Around the playground be careful though, the wild geese are very curious and can attack at most unexpected times?! :) stay inside the playground and they can't get close to you.
M. R.
Beautiful Park always but especially at this time of year when the colours of the leaves on the trees are spectacular. My dogs and I really enjoyed our walk there in the sunshine today.
K. D.
Love this place. A place to relax and switch off. Walked miles in this park over the years and lots of fond memories with the children. A gem in the city
K.
One of the best places in Swansea. Large enough for bike rides and runs. Has views of the sea. Ornamental and botanical gardens, which have plant sales and tea tents. Simply lovely flowers and trees and views. Can’t rate it enough! I visit here most days.
H.
Very large beautiful park to visit with family, friends and dog walks. Next to the university. On the sea front and by the entrance ton sketty and brymill. Well maintained and lots of social events held throughout the year.
S. S.
A big park with a walled botanic garden containing temperate and tropical greenhouses. Always interesting to walk around. Lots of open space for children to run around in. Good views over Swansea Bay from the top path.
G. D.
Great place to spend some time in the summer. Not much in the way of facilities but pubs can be found in the area. Dog walkers paradise here. Lack of properly lit pathways is something to consider at night.
k. m.
Singleton park is amazing. It backs onto Brynmill park and it leads to swansea bay.I have been walking and enjoying singleton park from the very first few days of my life as my family have always taken me here on days out. Its a very big wide open space and has a squirrel garden. Its a nice place to go in the winter ans summer. Great for walking the kids and the dogs.
P. W.
Fantastic place for a walk, open spaces, small wooded areas as well as hidden gardens, could do with a cafe
A. P.
Perfect place to go for a walk, enjoy nature, walk your dog, pic-nic. The Swansea Botanic garden is there as well and it's definitely worth a visit! Highly recommended
H. J.
Great day in the sun with fab music Fireroad supporting the phonics class
More security would have been a benefit
d. p.
There is so much space here, my wife & I used to take our kids here a lot, there is a boating lake, a crazy golf course (that kids love) there's also a pub/restaurant on site. Great place to take your kids or grandchildren.
B. E.
Spent the weekend at the radio 1 biggest music festival. Often used for the BBC proms live too, it's a lovely location for Al fresco music!! The park itself is beautiful, the grounds are wheel kept and are undulating while not being too much of a challenge to negotiate. Local parking is challenging as you have to leave your vehicle in residential areas. The park is very close to Swansea University, you fill find it popular with local students. There is a pub and boating lake near the hospital side of the park offering meals.
P. B.
Really great proms in the park😊nice staff lots of loos..good choice of food vans . But next time please signpost car park from main Rd! !! We were driving in circles for 20 minutes.
O. L.
Nice, relaxing and quiet place. Would be even better if more decorative gardening work done. Some strict rules for dogs owners should be reinforced
D. L.
Lovely place to visit. The ornamental gardens are stunning and all this is free to access.
Suitable for wheelchair users and plenty of benches to sit.
H. C.
From walking to running, sitting in the sunshine, to listening to groups or Proms in the Park or Radio 1 Big Weekends and so much more.....Singleton Park is an amazing space that lends itself to almost anything. Enjoy the green space in our City, it’s to be cherished and not taken for granted!
S. W.
I spent two days at the park at the Radio 1 Biggest Weekend. It was a fabulous experience, was very well organised and I didn't witness any unsocial behaviour at any time. The drinks and food on sale were expensive as expected but at least there was no drunken behaviour.
I would have liked a chair but these were banned but at 65 years of age two days seated on the grass took its toll!! Of course I was in the minority at my age but I love live music and the tickets were surprisingly reasonable although not easy to obtain.
I have visited this park over the years as my sister has lived on the Gower for 31 years. It's a lovely park with plenty of space, a small boating pool and cafeteria. Also just over the road from the seafront of Swansea Bay,a beautiful area.
J. S.
This is an amazing space in the middle of city ; sadly many Swansea dwellers seem unaware of how good it is. The walled garden is amazing in Spring, my wife's favourite place to visit for an hour or so.
G. S.
A beautiful park. I love that there are so many types of area, and that it's all cycling friendly
G. K.

N. K.
A large park with wide open spaces and wooded areas. Great for walks and getting away from it all. The locals (squirrels, pigeons and other birds) are incredibly tame.
A. M.
Sun is out today, and so am I! ^_^
C. D.
Sadly parts of the parks in a mucky mess from concerts held in the summer .Not going to back to it's best till spring next year at its earliest. .
n. h.
what can i say about this park other than its amazing and has all you need from a park . There is more than enough to keep both young and old busy for quite sometime.
G. H.
Lovely place for a walk or a cyclocross race
A. A.

I. C.
Nice park to take family members + kids + there a small park across the road where kids can play + watch the ducks swim
M. A.
Singleton Park is a bit if a dark horse. It occupies a substantial area in the middle of an urban area. It includes paved walks, Swiss style lodge, walled botanical gardens, glass houses, streams and ponds. Singleton Park is regularly a venue for concerts and other public performances. Singleton park runs adjacent to Brynmill park which is also worth a visit.
s. t.
Brilliant park, fantatic selection of trees from all over the world. Great palm house and botanical gardens. A great day out.
C. S.
Big park with small lakes and nice attractions, rich green grasslands, perfect and much used for dog walking by the locals, worth stepping by the local botanical gardens while you're there (without dogs...)
M. H.
Wynberg House Bed & Breakfast...Just across the street from Singleton Park.
M. P.
Beautiful park in central Swansea. Lovely gardens, perfect for picnics on sunny days. Check out the wooden bridge in the oriental garden.
M. C.
Beautiful, spacious park. The botanical gardens are fabulous. Loads of space for games etc in the main park and handy for walking, jogging and cycling.
K. T.
Great wide open spaces, ideal for walking. Had a few drinks in pub in the park which was very nice beforehand. Lovely place!
D. C.
Singleton Park in Swansea is a jewel that isn't appreciated as much as it should be. The Botanical Gardens there are a Haven of Peace and full of interest. Help funding for those Gardens is The Freinds of Singleton Voluntary group. They run the Plants Shop on Wednesdays and Saturdays where you'll find an amazing variety of plants , things you possibly won't find in the big Garden Centres. On top of that prices are pretty low.
P.
The fastest route, on foot or cycle, to connect Uplands to Swansea University or Singleton Hospital all the way to Sketty. Events and shows are held here regularly and why not from the high ground you can see the sea and feel its cool breeze. Open grass lands swoop gently down to the University and Hospital and if yoh follow the path to the south east you arrive at traffic lights..... And then beach. You'll find shaded areas from the sun complimented by the trees and a secluded garden area as well as a small horticultural nursery. A family day here consists of kids, dog, picnic, bikes, balls and fun.
P. T.
Just love this park Lovely walking in the wood The gardens are stunning And if you're lucky the plant sales are open Bought some good healthy plants and they're not expensive
D. B.
Very nice park (although can be very muddy after large events in wet weather). Open walks, some landscaped areas, botanical gardens and a few items of interest.
A. J.
Great park to walk the dog. Lots of features like fields and water in the form of lakes and streams.
R. D.
The botanical gardens are simply stunning, and the park itself is a beautiful and varied outdoor space close to the heart of Swansea.

Lovely park with soothing sounding streams through it and a historical "Swiss Cottage", as well as a bontanical garden with a wide variety of flora.

H. E.
Love singleton been going to singleton for many many years.
It's a shame they don't cut all the grass, the dogs just go in the long grass to do there business! Wouldn't like to be the person to cut the grass adventually!
S.
Lovely lovely well maintained park. Beautiful and serene! I enjoyed every moment spent in this park.
G. H.
Quiet. Vast. A decent gentle walk for all the family - even kids on scooters. Places to eat or drink at three exits to the park

M. B.
Getting ready for radio one road show swansea
T. W.
It's a park, it does what you'd expect. The botanical gardens elevate it though and the size of the place means it's far more peaceful than neighbouring Brynmill.
S. W.
Amazing park with lots of fields and greenhouses with a variety of plants.
P. C.
Great park, large and goes down to university and hospital. Large botanical gardens as well. Public toilets available.
D. J.
