D. G.My visit, of this morning was brief. I attended as a chorister with the Morriston Orpheus Choir, , in our bid to entertain a conference delegation of dental surgeons from across the UK. Those of us with some teeth remaining did our utmost to smile with a view to winning the confidence of the audience by taking them to familiar ground!
I digress. I tend to do so. I am after all Welsh. Please note and note again, although happy with my Welsh heritage I am as far removed from Nationalism as can be.
However I must say that it was a pleasure to experience the best of Welsh hospitality from staff at Swansea Marriott.
No one spoke with me in Welsh but that matters not a jot as the positive aspects of our welcoming unassuming jovial culture can be expressed in either of our home languages. I have stayed at many a Marriott in this country and abroad and while the carpets seem universal, Marriott Swansea had that distinctive feel of being an establishment on South Wales' beautiful coastline, with no pretension to be anywhere else.
Excellent or as one might say - ardderchog .
