Reviews of Boscawen Park

Beautiful spot just a few minutes from town. A lovely walk along the river round to Sunny Corner. Carry on past there and you come to Malpas village with the Beautiful Heron Inn looking over the river.

Great park by the river. We'll tended flower beds, big children's play area, and ideal for SMALL children on bikes. Dogs welcome on leads..A couple of food outlets, we had pasties which were quite good. Loo passable. Parking mostly on the road and it gets very busy, we were lucky someone pulled out as we came along. Also a nice Riverside walk.

Great park for kids. Plenty of structures to climb on. Toilets on site, picnic benches and a cafe and lake over the road

Wonderful well kept park. When I went took Grandchildren who had an amazing time a great place for a picnic. Lots of shade under the lovely trees.
One special thing was to see people of all ages enjoying the space.

Great little park to spend a couple of hours feeding the ducks, short walk for the very young ones and a play park across the road with scooter/bike friendly paths for slightly older children. A good location for all the family to enjoy for free.

This park is lovely.
The play area is large with something to do for all ages. When we visited, the sandpit area was taped off as some of the equipment was being removed. The rubber surface that the play area sits on is uneven and has sunk in several places. On the occasions where its rained and dried up you may still find yourself getting a very soggy foot or two when you happen to tread on one of these sunken areas ( we find that all part of the fun , others might not!)
There's a little cafe on site, basket ball area, ping pong tables and picnic benches in the park itself and a football pitch, tennis court, kayaking club and a cricket club as well as a exercise circuit walk and dog walk around the perimeter which overlooks the river, and a gorgeous busy duck pond with wildlife gardens.
It's gardens are beautifully maintained and the city councils parks department is within the grounds so there's always someone about if you need to ask about the area or the planting and they're a wealth of knowledge with their gardening tips and the head gardener even has his own YouTube tutorials for gardening tips.
There is also an area for bands and entertainment to set up events and sees lots of activities all year round.
The toilet facilities are ancient but serviceable. There's a separate disabled toilet with baby changing station in both the disabled and women's toilets.
It's a very busy place and the park itself was part funded by charitable donations and grants to Friends of Boscowan Park , a community group set up by locals who worked tirelessly to bring the whole project to fruition. Its popularity is the reason for the wear and tear that is understandably never ending.
It is very popular come rain or shine. For free child entertainment you couldn't ask for more.

Absolutely brilliant well worth visiting kids all over it

A great place for youngsters, with a nice large play area and a lot of open grass to run in. Nice flower displays and the small lake with swans and ducks just across the road.

Malpas Park, got 2 cafes, toilets, a large duck pond, a river walk around the outside of the park with excercise equipment along the way. Tennis, canoe club, football pitches and a nice lil park for children.

Lovely Park to go for a walk around, or take the kids as there is plenty of room to kick a ball around or ride a bike as well as a playground. There is a nice walk right around the edge along the river that I had no idea existed even after going to the park since I was a child. Right opposite is a lake with swans and ducks, perfect little walk and experience the wildlife. PS apparently we should not feed the ducks bread.
