K. B.3 nights in Ivy Cottage Sept 2020. Would I recommend, yes. There is a 'but' although I'll start with the positives. Close to York, reasonably priced, has a hot tub, decent sized property (one bedroomed cabin). Dog friendly too.
The downsides.....we arrived in the rain, followed all instructions but the key safe attached to the property wouldn't open, I'm short, we had been given the wrong code to access it so got soaked trying. Immediately noticed that the tiled cooker back splash was covered in grease, I didn't clean it but didn't use the cooker anyway.
Most things you'd need are inside, washing up liquid, bin bags, toilet roll etc etc so you only need to bring towels although they do provide towels too.
There isn't anywhere really to walk to, you have to drive. The entrance is on a 60mph road so watch out if you do walk over it. I took the dog for a walk but only just a very short toilet walk as there isn't really anywhere to walk to or any pavements. Not an issue if you don't have a dog.
G. M.We had a lovely weekend in the california cottage in November. Very clean both inside cottage & hot tub. Kitchen missing a dustpan & brush that could have come in handy but this didnt spoil our stay. Would definitely return!
Note - floors get extremely wet & slippy due to the type of flooring but there are notes within cottage advising this.

For my husband’s birthday 15/7/20 Lodge was very clean a lovely surprise of bottle of wine and chocolate very quite and peaceful just what we needed. I work for nhs and husband a HGV driver we had a lovely rest and totally chilled out in hot tub Would highly recommend .

W.Really lovely place to visit, cottage was very clean and organized e.g instructions for everything in place, hot tub was clean and very relaxing, we don't live far away and felt a million miles from home. Very private too, didn't see another human whilst there. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return
K. H.Stayed in the rose cottage in strensall last year and new Caroline Cottage in Wilberfoss this year. Was amazing. Loved both stays. Both cottages decorated beautifully and was so comfortable. Chocolate and a bottle of wine waiting for us and hot tub heated. 5* amazing stay. Will be back again this year. The girl kelli who deals with the cottages is amazing and catered to all our needs. Only place we will stay to visit York from now on xxx

P. S.The lodge was a bit close to the neighbours and every time we went onto the decking the dog from next door started barking!
