Shay was very patient with us during 8 weeks and would help in his lunch break to explain all the problems. They are very few training providers that don't just simply teach you how to pass the course but they endeavour to teach you the theory behind Testing and Inspecting, the key differences between Initial verification and periodic inspection etc. Dave the trainer is excellent, he has vast industry knowledge and delivers the courses outstandingly.Training center is the one to go, tutors are professional and are full of knowledge they know what they are talking about. I have come away so much more confident and prepared for my future career. I will be recommending this place to anyone who is thinking of getting into Electrics.

Brilliant training centre with excellent staff. Very knowledgeable tutors. Done my 2391-52 test and inspection here. Shay was our tutor for the 7 days and was brilliant. Happy to help with anything. Done the full electrical training at WMD centre with the main guy Dave who is greatly knowledgeable on the subject with many good stories to tell. Having basic knowledge already on the subject, Dave was capable of teaching me and the rest of the class to the next level in a manner that anyone can understand to get through the course with confidence. Came here to renew my gas, got talking to the electrician trainer Dave dwyer and decided to upskill, although I had basic knowledge and consider myself competent, wmd took you from basics and got rid of all bad habits and really spent alot of time explaining possible snags etc that was not even requirement for inspection and testing. Top training provider in all aspects. I recently completed the 18th edition, 2391-52 & DEI (part p) and have no issues in fully recommending WMD for people at all levels. Decided on a career change from working in hospitality, came on the domestic installers course knowing extreamly little about electrics. Dave who teaches the course, does an amazing job. I was extremely nervous but with his support and guidance I've achieved more than I thought I would have been possible this time last week. If there has been a section I have struggled with he has shown me again and again how to get there until I've understood. I witnessed ex-students call and seek David's advice from while they were on jobs, which gives confidence should you need assistance further down the line you will still have that support. The facilities are great, everything is well laid out and there are circuitboards you can come and practice on during and after training. There is ample parking and easy to find. From initial enquiries, their communication has been impeccable, before you start the courses you are fully informed of all you need to know via emails, for example: payment breakdowns, dates, books required, test details, the list continues. Regarding Covid, the steps they go to keep everyone safe are brilliant, regular cleaning throughout the day, sanitisers available in every room, face shields provided, masks available if you haven't got your own. I cant think of anything they haven't thought about. Safety of staff and candidates are their priority. I'm looking forward to continuing my learning with WMD and can't recommend them enough. I have just finished the electrical fundamentals course with WMD... a fantastic course for anyone who is looking at becoming an electrician. The course was well laid out and very informative and considering that I have no electrical experience this is the best way to start up! David was very patient and didn’t rush anything, no questions were deemed silly questions and I felt at ease throughout the course. I am to undertake further training with WMD… 18th edition, Part P and testing and inspection, all of which I am looking forward to. I would HIGHLY recommend WMD if you are looking at training to either become an electrician or want to brush up on your existing skills and to add further, the courses provide by WDM are great value for money… don’t get ripped off by other training centres in the West Midlands, you can’t go wrong with these guys. The centre is well equipped and ALL covid cautions were in place. Keep up the great work… Update: I have now completed my 18th Edition, Part P and Testing and Inspection... passed all of the modules (bar the online assessment for Inspection & Test C&G system was down, thus not WMD's fault!) Again, the traning was provided at a pace that allowed me to take in all of the information required. The practical sessions were great at the end of the course as it really bought all of the theory together. Once again, a great job by Dave and his team. I cant recommend them highly enough. Update: I passed Inspection & Test however, I found it very difficult to gain employment after obtaining the above certificates... if you are not to run your own business then please ensure that you have somthing lined up after the course. I found that most job adverts were asking for ECS cards and experience. To gain your ECS card then you will have to apply for one. I have managed to enrol on a NVQ course with another company where they apply for the ECS card for you after an exam and in addition they are source work for you which is perfect. Not taking anything away from WMD, but ensure that you understand the difficulties in getting work afterwards, even if you do pass the exams.

I recently completed the 2391-52 Inspection and Testing(periodic and initial) course at WMD. They are one of a very few training providers that don't just simply teach you how to pass the course but they endeavour to teach you the theory behind Testing and Inspecting, the key differences between Initial verification and periodic inspection etc. I highly recommend West Midlands Developments. I am not a fully qualified electrician but I undertook my 18th Edition over course here over 3 days taught by Ian McKay who was a friendly and knowledgeable teacher, enjoyed the lessons went over numerous examples papers in class then checked over again with Ian. Homework was given and checked the following day. Took the exam on the 3rd with David, after the exam David asked our opinions and any issues we had, listening to any suggestions we made and taking on board on suggestions. Can only say I enjoyed this course the staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. This was the first course I did outside of a college, I decided to go here because of the reviews and I wasn't really happy with the training at colleges I went too. I am glad I did and say can honestly say if you want to do your course here don't hesitate....free tea, coffee and biscuits included.

Speaking with them via emails and the phone I started to understand why they was getting these reviews. Completed the part p where David made the course fun and easy to learn, always went the extra mile. Definitely recommend them as I've booked further courses.

Having spent time researching the various training providers, I called into WMD on the way home from work to check the Place out. I was shown around the facilities by Dave Jnr and made to feel very welcome. I decided to take the plunge, based on that first good impression, and paid in full for the Domestic Installer Package. 10 days in to the 20 and I couldn’t be happier. Dave Snr, my trainer, is an outstanding trainer and I’m impressed with his no bullsh*t approach. Clearly a voice of experience, he obviously knows his subject inside out! The facilities are top drawer and it’s location is ideal. Thanks for providing me with exactly what I was hoping to find.... highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant training centre. I’ve completed my 17th and Part P testing & inspection course and was very impressed with the level of teaching. I thought the Electrical Trainer David Dwyer did a brilliant job; he helped me out massively when I was struggling, with his vast amount of knowledge and experience on the subject. David Dwyer Jnr (Centre Manager) was very helpful with arranging my course date and was very informative. The centre itself was clean, with plenty of free parking. I would absolutely recommend this training centre to anyone interested in electrics and I will be looking forward to more training in the future.

I was at the centre for my core Gas training. I was training as a complete novice. The trainer 'Mo', provided the training in a 'real world' way, explaining everything and confirming your understanding. Considering I was a blank slate from the start, I feel confident and knowledgeable. Now comes the experience!

I was quite nervous to start my training as I thought I wouldn't keep up with the course. However I was wrong , my teacher dave was very professional and supportive and gave me all the help I needed. Started my training with them in July, finished the final part of the Domestic Installers course in October. Would recommend them to anyone, their training technique is excellent. Not only did they teach me how to pass the exams but how to apply the knowledge and truly understand the theory; they have also assisted in getting employment. Having looked at several courses online i found WMD the best to talk too and get information back , The course with Dave was enjoyable and very interesting his way of teaching is really second to none. Easy to find and plenty of on site parking.

Completed 18th edition course over two days with exam on day three ,training consisted of trying to answer question papers then having explanations from teacher Ian on how to find the correct answer and why it is the right answer. Passed exam so the training works but I do not really know what changes there are to the 17th edition , the introduction and use of spd, arc devices, monitoring of IT circuits etc. Very friendly knowledgeable staff relaxed atmosphere free tea, coffee, toast, biscuits all day. Choose this centre from shopping around for this course seamed to be a good price compared with other centres, informative staff when I enquired about course, dates of course suited me , just glad to get the job done in three days. Thanks to all staff and fellow candidates on course we all passed. Collected certificate two weeks after exam after email notification that certificate was ready for collection.

When I first started my course I was very scared that I will not pass because I had no idea how to work things out and it was all new to me. With the help of a excellent/brilliant tutor Dave I passed my 17th edition, fundamentals, part p and inspection and testing. I was over the moon especially as i had never done electrics before. I then went onto a cctv installation course and I again passed that. Dave and his team are very helpfull with a very friendly environment and what I mostly like is how I could ask as many questions and Dave always had time to answer them for me. I highly recommend Dave and his training centre to anyone and if I ever need anymore training e.g solor panels I will gladly go back again. As a non sparky with qualifications and skills in other, loosely related areas; I found this centre to be excellent for my needs. I contacted them via email asking if I could pop in and discuss what courses they would recommend. David (Jnr) was very informative and non pushy. He spent time discussing with me the options available and what courses I would require. A few weeks later I was booked on to; •17th Edition Writing Regulations •Domestic Electrical Installer •C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing The courses were all delivered by David (Snr) which was useful, because throughout each course he was then able to identify potential areas lacking in the each individual's knowledge, then provide extra guidance and explanations specific for them. This week I have passed all the courses and whilst I'm not looking to become an electrician full time, the training and qualifications give me a suitable springboard in to the trade, plus register with a Competent Person Scheme.

Did my 2394 and 2395 electrical courses a few years ago with WMD and passed both first time. So when I decided to do 18th edition wiring regulations, I went to WMD again and passed first time. I think the relaxed way of training with WMD seems to work for me. I am hoping they will start doing the electrical installation design course soon.

I recommend this training centre because it's the best training centre and I wish I know that before... I spent 2 years in college to do the gas only Course which you could do the courses in this training centre with a very good price, short time more helpful then college. Having spent countless hours researching what courses I needed to do to work as an independent electrician and numerous phone calls to various companies. I gave up looking after been told it was years and years of courses and what seemed like a mortgage to find it. A few years later I looked again only to start going down the same path, but then I found WMD and what a change! The course was fantastic and there isn't anything David Dwyer doesn't know about electrics and the regs.
