I have been looking for a new way of getting fit in the open air. I was invited to try a Nordic Walking Beginners Workshop. To my surprise I found it both challenging and exhilarating. I am told it’s a workout for the whole body and uses 90% of my muscles.
What’s more it’s great fun and good company. I am hooked!

I should really write 2 reviews: one for the sport of Nordic Walking, which is simply awesome and so good for you, and one for Bristol Nordic Walking who put on amazing walks in great places. Seriously, if you want to get fit without injuring yourself, meet some lovely people and spend lots of time outside, this is the sport for you. I highly recommend it!

I took up Nordic walking two years ago ,when I retired, to replace the exercise I had been doing in the gym following a total knee operation.
The experience has been tremendous. Nordic walking exercises the whole body especially the core and upper body, but the added benefit is the great friendships I have made and the fun we have.
All the instructors are knowledgeable about the effects of the exercises we are doing and make them interesting and varied.
I would recommend Nordic walking for everyone
Give it a try and I will be surprised if you are not bitten

I've been walking with Bristol Nordic Walking for about 4 years now - love it, love the way it makes me feel even on a foul day, instructors constantly vigilant and encouraging and also funny and jolly. The effect on my fitness including general health is noticeable, great stuff. Website/booking system very easy to use. 4 stars (not 5) only because they don't have a sliding fee scale for lower incomes.

Nordic walking is an amazing full body workout. It’s easy to learn, (with good instructors), it’s in the fresh air with lovely, interesting people to chat to as you do it, what’s not to like?!
Vicky,Ros and their team are wonderful at teaching technique, they’re genuinely supportive of every individual and cater to a range of abilities.
Their enthusiasm is contagious.
There are always interesting extras on offer from weight loss to trips abroad to longer walks in beautiful countryside.
I’ve been walking with them for years and intend to keep doing so for many more.
I always enjoy the walks and have learned to enjoy walking in ( almost) all weathers too :)

Nordic walking is the best sport anyone could take part in. It’s outside, as easy or hard as you want to make it, and a great opportunity to make friends. The club is well organised, with a wide choice of sessions all over Bristol and Bath, and very good instructors, full of useful advice. Love it!
