I am currently on week 6 of the 8 week program and really enjoying it. I am not someone that enjoys the gym and I don't have the motivation to push myself without encouragement. But all of trainers are very supportive and helpful and try to make the sessions fun.
Darren is very knowledgeable about diet and nutrition, I have been very impressed so far so recommended to my husband and next door neighbour to join up and they have been equally impressed.

I have been going to ABT for 6 months now and I can't rate Darren, Josh and the team highly enough. The workouts are intense but very friendly and supportive so I have been able to do so much more than I ever thought i could. The workouts are super varied and the team are always on hand to ensure your form is correct for all the exercises. Love all the info we get about the different muscles we are using and of course all the nutritional support. Guys, you do an amazing job. So glad I started coming to ABT.

My experience with ABT has been only positive. I was welcomed and made to feel part of the team, even though I was very nervous and self conscious when I first started. Now I feel part of the team, and have been pleasantly surprised at what I can achieve with the right guidance. I wouldn’t be without it now! Initially I joined ABT on an eight week course and three years later I'm still there despite them moving to an amazing new gym even further away from me!!
I love the whole experience and since starting have lost weight and feel so much better in myself. I have managed to maintain the weight loss and this is through the excellent nutrition advice and brilliant sessions which are challenging and never the same.
The classes are small in size and everyone is given time and attention, no matter what shape, age or size you are as we have all been to that first one session thinking how are we going to get through this and so want to help and encourage any new members .

I can’t sing the praises of ABT enough. I began my journey with them signing up the the 8 week programme and didn’t hesitate to join as a member. The trainers are all amazing, friendly and make exercise fun. They are always on hand for nutrition advice and support. I've been training here for about 18 months and have seen huge improvements in my fitness levels and body shape. This couldn't have been done without the support and encouragement of Darren Josh and the team. New members become new friends and its an amazing atmosphere where we all encourage each other. Honestly the best place I've ever trained. I can walk in unmotivated and always walk out buzzing! The new building is much bigger and better with improved facilities.

I am deeply impressed with the level of commitment and attention offered by all the personal trainers. I joined in October 2022 and can only say this is the first time despite joining several gyms etc that I feel motivated and encouraged to attend each session.
Sessions are tough on your legs and arms but each week I got stronger and this has improved my mental well-being too.

I started training here at Aspire 6 months ago. After 18 years of hardly any regular exercise , 55 years old and being quite out of shape.
I’m really happy with the results so far
Lost 2 stone and six inches around my waist. Energy levels are much higher and my mental health has also improved.
Darren and Josh are experts in their field, extremely knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness. They train you hard during the sessions but always within your limits , no boot camp style screaming , instead encouraging and guiding you.

I joined ABT after lockdown in 2021. I’m of a certain age where my health and fitness was going to go one of two ways. I knew that I needed to look after myself and signed up at ABT for their 28 day introductory offer. I remember walking out of my first session wondering what on earth I had signed up to! But the guidance and motivation offered by the team was just what I needed. I learned so much nutritionally and found that being pushed to my limits was not only helping my physical progress but was mentally stimulating. The ‘feel good’ buzz after each session, the friendly faces, the totally amazing trainers and team…. I love coming away from there with a big smile on my sweaty face!
I came to ABT alone, but have never felt it during my 18 months there. I would encourage everyone, of any ability, of any age, to come and give it a try. You are looked after. I have never looked back.

I joined ABT just after it had opened in Hackmans Lane - and was hooked by Darrens' experience and expertise, and by the approach to improving both my fitness and my shape. The team was helpful and supportive, and sensible. Covid threw a good sized spanner in the works but the good news is that ABT still exists - and having got going again I have lost the better part of two dress sizes, gained lots of strength and my husband has joined partly from pure shock. The team is incredibly knowledgeable, always enthusiastic, always watching to make sure that we don't do ourselves any harm and to improve our form. And they make the process fun by working us hard and surprising us by making every class different.
I have worked with all sorts of personal trainers (mostly City based) over the years and Darren, Josh and the team are simply the best.

I started training with ABT just before we went into lockdown in 2020. I had previously trained in Thai boxing and weights since the 90s but had lost my way. I’ve been to quite a few gyms and just couldn’t find what I needed. I did the Zoom sessions during lockdown which were a struggle at times but always appreciated that Darren and his team were trying everything that they could to make it work, as we all were.
ABT is like a army boot camp but with a big hug at the end. Once you get into the mindset of training hard the rest will get easier. I like training with weights, I need to be pushed at times and I like that I am considerably fitter because I train with ABT.
I now look forward to training each week, and am glad to have found the feeling that I used have. Thank you ABT.

This is not just a gym it's a place to go to learn about what is best for you and your health. The people in Aspire care about each individual and are successful because you don't feel pressured to take on more then you want to do. If you aren't interested in nutrition then you don't have to go along with the advice that's given. It's successful because it's welcoming and inclusive and you don't feel body conscious whatever your size. There is no judgement just a passion to impart knowledge and help you get fit and healthy. Joined ABT on their 8 week programme following 2 years out of exercise due to recurring back and leg injuries. I had previously been involved in sports and had multiple nutritionists, PTs, etc. However, I can firmly say I've never been as satisfied as I've been since I joined ABT.
Darren, Josh, Jo and Harry all push you to your limits whilst motivating you and clearly guiding you through your whole journey. Dianne and Amanda are also lovely to deal with!
There are no egos at this gym and you are all one team, which definitely makes exercise more enjoyable. There is a wide mix of age, fitness and experience. Despite group sessions, the trainers adapt the workouts to you. So it really is for everyone.

If you're thinking of joining ABT, do it!!
If you're unsure about group training - don't be. The whole team at ABT are amazing, pushing you to your limits each session but also tailoring to each individual's needs. They're knowledge of the human body, training and nutrition is fantastic.
This isn't an ego gym and everyone is always very supportive and encouraging and you will always leave your sessions feeling great and with a smile on your face even if you are feeling a bit tender🤣.
So glad I picked up the courage to join and I haven't looked back since

What a wonderful find ABT has been for me 😀 I’d lost my mojo through injury and thought I’d try weights to kickstart myself again.
No two sessions are the same and all under the watchful eye of Darren, Josh and the team..
Always motivating & encouraging, each session is tailored to ensure everybody gets the most out of it, with tiny tweaks to form making a huge difference to progress.
I’ve trained in many gyms over the years and this is by far the best experience I’ve had. The knowledge Darren shares is incredible - both exercise & nutrition.
The atmosphere is friendly but focused, with everybody working hard & supporting each other. I’m definitely stronger than I’ve ever been, which is great for throwing my grandsons about 😀 Dianne is also lovely, helpful & encouraging.
Since ABT moved from Purleigh, I now travel 45-50 minutes to get my sessions. Having discovered ABT, there was just no way I was giving it up 😀

I’ve been keeping fit with amazing team of people for 4 years now. Being a “bigger lady” gyms have always been the stuff of nightmares for me but never once have I felt intimidated here. The whole team give you so much encouragement and totally understand and accommodate everybody’s personal and specific requirements. I have been a member of ABT for two years. I have been a member of numerous gyms in the past and have not really experienced there what I undertake at ABT.
I started with the 4 week programme which starts of with an induction session and explain all the ethos and principles to the training.
Each session is different and the training team understand everyone’s needs and know how to push you to your own levels.
The team will do masterclasses which will focus on certain training areas and how to undertake certain exercises.
The team are very helpful and friendly and will go over anything you are unsure of.
When the gym moved I debated if the extra travel and time was worth it but I feel that I have made the right choice by staying and carrying on my training as now focusing more on my journey.

I have been with ABT since May of this year. I joined initially for their 8 week programme, but I got hooked! I could see the difference within 3 weeks and feel the difference mentally from day one. The training is of an exceptionally high standard. It’s different every time and there’s a personal touch. How Darren, Josh and the rest of the team remember everyone’s names from the day you join i do not know! The gym moved towards the end of my 8 weeks. I now travel 25 mins there and same back but it’s worth every mile. If you live close by lucky you! I just couldn’t not keep going. Darren, Josh, Joe and Harry make a great training team and Diane is fab with all those extra session bookings etc, always available and super kind. Join you won’t regret it!

My experience with the team at ABT has been absolutely life changing. I’ve been working with them for almost 2 years. In that time I have watched my HBA1C level (Type 2 diabetic) tumble from fatally high to manageable. It is still falling. My blood pressure readings have spiraled downwards similarly. Much to my wife and granddaughters’ embarrassment, I can now fit into clothes they wish I couldn’t.
So why does ABT work for me? Well behind the fun is a whole lot of training expertise, teaching experience and good psychology. You bring the desire to change and a willingness to learn, ABT can do the rest. I’ve learned what works for me in terms of a sound and healthy diet. These days I can walk into a gym and know how to use most of the equipment. If there is no gym, I have learned enough body weight exercises that will hit all the same parts. In short if I have to train on my own, the ABT team has given me the habits and skills so that I can continue to adapt and improve.
Is it worth the money, time and effort. Absolutely yes. I’ve halted the slow slide into ill health that too many poor lifestyle choices over too many years was bringing. In the process I’ve made a lot of new friends, built confidence and opened up so many new possibilities for retirement.

It takes a lot for me to sign up to something that could be considered faddy or could seem to be too good to be true.
My hesitation and misgivings were completely unnecessary with ABT.
I signed up for the eight week programe and have been going to the sessions now for 5 weeks and have taken on board all the nutrition advice given.
I have lost 10kg and im starting to get abs!!
Darren and the guys are very knowledgeable and are very good at making sure the entire group carry out the moves accurately and safely with the most benefit achieved in the time available.
There is NO slacking off 😉
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ABT and this programme for anyone looking for a kick in the right direction to achieve the gains they desire in a friendly environment.

I have been a part of the ABT family for 15 months now and if I have to miss a day, have a holiday or stop for 5 minutes, I can’t stand it! I have tried PT, normal gyms, home gym, boot camps etc and I can never seem to stick with it or feel like I get anywhere!!!
ABT have not only helped my body transformation and made me push myself beyond my limits, it has given me mind strength, power to control my mind, physical strength, laughter, friendships, words of wisdom, some honest truths and at times a slightly wonky or sore body… but all in the name of positivity and good change!!! The staff at ABT are unlike any gym team I have met in the past, so passionate, knowledgeable, thoughtful and genuinely brilliant trainers, as are the ladies by their sides.

What can I say about ABT and the team, 18 months ago it was looking like I wouldn't be able to return to front line operational duties due to a spinal injury. I was in a sad place having always been active. Then on Youtube I see a gent advertising ABT. After my initial contact, Darren, Josh and the team looked at my medical information and placed me on a tailored road to recovery, with in weeks I was more flexible than I had been in years, fast forward to today and I'm fit, flexible and have more muscle mass than I ever have. Darren is a brilliant personal trainer- I have had at least 10 Personal Trainers over the years and have never come across someone as knowledgeable and passionate as Darren is. He knows everything there is to know about how the body systems work. His understanding of nutrition and ability to give simple tips and advice to make small changes to tweak your diet really helps keep you on track. It is great when you come across someone who loves their work and Darren is one of those people - so good to train with and even better at the amazing new gym he’s created!

Darren, Josh, Joe, Harry and Dianne are lovely people who are passionate about what they’re doing. ABT is so much more than a gym. The small group training is high quality and the team motivate you to work hard within your ability. There is always expert nutrition advice available and something new to learn, which I love! Darren is a fountain of knowledge and very generous with his expertise. There is a positive and supportive atmosphere no matter what your ability.
