I have trained with Andy for a couple of years in the past (over 4 years ago) but just started up again a few months ago as I needed some help reaching some new strength goals. Quite simply Andy is an excellent personal trainer. He is very knowledgable and passionate about fitness. He really spends time getting to know what works for you and pushes you (in a nice way 😊), always keeping in mind form so to avoid injury. His app is a great way to keep the programmes he sets and also it updates him on your progress, so at the start of a live session there is no time wasted telling him what you have done over the last week, you can just get straight into that warm up set 😊. This time round, I didn't even consider looking for another trainer, I was just hoping that Andy had time free in his diary. Whether you are a fitness beginner or someone with a lot of experience, you can be confident Andy will help you get where you want to be and also make it an enjoyable journey.

I've been working with Andrew for a few years now. My original goal was to be fit enough to enjoy my first ski holiday (at 43 yrs) and he knocked it out of the ball park. In 5 weeks (2 sessions a week) he got me into a fit enough state that I could have 4 days of 4 hour private ski lessons and get up the next day and go again. No achy sore muscles for me (and yes he did beast me).
I've not really had a goal since then but this has not stopped Andrew from working with me and getting results. This has taken a load of pressure off trying to "find a reason" to get fitter and stonger. I see my sessions with Andrew as an investment in myself to future proof my physical (and mental health) as one would with personal development or career training.
The reason I stick with Andrew as opposed to joining a gym and doing sessions by myself is: I AM LAZY! I've been a member of numerous gyms and had Personal Trainers on and off for years. After working with Andrew for those initial 5 weeks I realised I had managed to find myself a Personal Trainer I wanted to continue to work with.
If it were not for Andrew making the sessions varied and dare I say "fun" I would not set foot in a gym. I've been a member of various gyms and get bored very easily. I also cannot remember the names of the excercises and I cannot keep count of the reps. That whole process of following a "generic programme" ticking off the little boxes for 21 or 30 days just does not do it for me. There is also the SAFETY aspect. I've seen some crazy moves in gyms with the member of staff NOT making a move to intervene and explain how to safely use the equipment. With Andrew at my side I can either query why an exercise is uncomfortable in my knee, calf, lower back etc. or he will automatically correct me (i.e. your weight is too far forward on your toes or stick your bum out then start to bend your knees) before I get a chance to say anything.
As I don't have a goal Andrew also has a rare skill where he can read between the lines. I can mention not being happy about the shape of a particular body part or not being able to run for my life without needing oxygen and before I know it, I am commenting on how great a peice of clothing looked on me that I couldn't previously wear or that I ran without collapsing in a heap.
Andrew is also great advising about nutrition. I do still struggle with this as I've had years of mis-information being "fed" 😉 to me, but Andrew is very patient about it all.
Andrew is also not afraid to refer you on. If you get to the point where you have more specific training needs he will know someone who specialises in the area and let you know about them. Again in my experience this is a very rare quality in a personal trainer.

Andrew is a fantastic trainer! Andrew is an absolutely phenomenal PT. He knows his stuff inside and out, is able to keep me motivated, and is genuinely interested in seeing me succeed. I started training with Andrew 4 months ago to focus on building strength and fitness to improve my road cycling. Having chatted with a few trainers, Andrew was the only one who took the time to properly sit down and understand what my goals were, how often I would be able to train and, an aspect I hadn't properly focused on before, understanding my nutrition.
Each session is tough, but always fun. The variety and combination of exercises keeps my interest far more than I've ever found whilst training in the gym. Andrew is very motivating, understanding and encouraging in pushing you in your workouts. In the space of 4 months I've noticed massive improvements to my overall fitness and strength in the gym, and more importantly for me, I also feel much stronger on the bike. As an added bonus, training with Andrew has given me more confidence lifting weights, and I've gained a greater interest in fitness and nutrition than I had expected. Andrew's also helped tweak my nutrition to help get the best out of my sessions and my time on the bike.
Andrew regularly reviews and guides me through my programme to keep it interesting and challenging. I now train with Andrew once a week and he is always providing support in the gym as well as finding out how I'm getting on training on my own outside the one-on-one sessions. I was looking for a trainer who is able to understand my goals as an individual, and provide me with the support to achieve them. Andrew's done just that. He's constantly looking at my form and technique and helping me focus on improving, but also takes the time to explain why a particularly exercise is beneficial and how it'll translate to strength on the bike.
I would highly recommend training with Andrew to anyone, regardless of your fitness goal!

I could not recommend Andrew as a personal trainer more. He has helped me to not only lose weight (my initial goal) but also helped me get into a proper routine of working out and massively helped my confidence in the gym. Although I only had one session a week I felt supported by Andrew all the time, knowing that whenever I had a question about anything - from how to do a particular exercise to my diet - then he'd be more than happy to help and I would get a reply within minutes. The sessions are a lot of fun and Andrew is very knowledgable and really takes into account your own personal goals in order to draw up a personalised workout and nutrition plan. Whatever your goal Andrew definitely is the full package and I would recommend him to anyone!

Andrew is an excellent fitness trainer with a genuine interest in his clients and their fitness gaols. He is professional, very knowledgeable and has a sincere, friendly personality. I have only trained with Andrew for a few weeks, but already I have started to see results from his progressive training. I had stagnated a little, was getting a bit disillusioned, and although at 57 I am already in the best shape of my life, I am confident that there is still huge potential waiting to be fulfilled with Andrew's carefully planned training. I first came to Andrew with the aim of getting fitter, stronger, healthier and (I cannot lie) a wee bit bigger. I had done very little by way of exercise, and felt that having the guidance of a PT would be the best way to get into it. I have been training with Andrew for just under six months now and at every step of the way he has demonstrated a perfect understanding of my goals, strengths, weaknesses and abilities. I am very pleased with the results so far - I have a long way to go still, but without Andrew's well thought-out and personalised programmes, insight and advice (and last but not least great company at the gym) I would never have made anywhere near as much progress in that time.

I would recommend Andrew as he is an excellent and knowledgable personal trainer. I first got in contact as I wanted to learn the basics of Olympic Weightlifting. He helped me become competent in the techniques and made the workouts enjoyable yet challenging. The online programming and app Andrew offers are really useful when progressing and completing work out on your own. He also provides technical feedback via video to help you improve in between one on one sessions.

I have only been working out with Andrew for two weeks but can already feel a difference in my fitness - I am looking forward to also seeing the results! His sessions are always different and provide a full body workout. We have spent a lot of time focusing on technique, which other trainers I have worked with have never been that fussed about. I am naturally lazy, but this last fortnight I have been feeling energised and much more willing to do exercise!

So I came into contact with Andrew after a stagnant phase in my running/weightlifting program. Given the circumstances in the covid lockdown I had very limited equipment and so training had become very repetitive. I had been training consistently for 4 years and have never seen results so immediately other than when I'd initially began training. instructions were clear and simple to follow. Throughout the 12 week block there were challenges to work through, such as past injuries and weaknesses which were all addressed quickly and efficiently. Bearing in mind my own statistics such as age, training age etc; my initial goals were to increase running speed and muscle mass, hard in itself, but we saw great success. My 5km came down to 24min (a on for me, my previous best being 28min), we bumped my calories an extra 700-900kcal and my estimated bodyfat percentage came down between 4% and 6%, whilst my strength increased almost weekly. Throughout the whole process learning the importance of proper programming, nutrition and rest. Andrew isn't magic but an integral part of my success and my future in lifestyle and health. Cheers Andrew, 10/10 would hire again.

Surprisingly, the hard training was made fun and enjoyable through a variety of exercises that pushed my limits of endurance and fitness on a weekly basis.

After years of haphazard gym sessions that always seem to go nowhere, i decided to enlist Andrew's help while trying to take my mind off completing a masters dissertation. My initial target was to gain 4kg of muscle mass in 3 months but that was quickly achieved within 6 weeks.
Andrew's meticulous and very effective training, as well as his gentle and encouraging demeanour, makes every session that much more bearable and worthwhile because there is an almost instant guarantee of results. Andrew guides you session to session with precise focus on each part of your body, alternating from volume training to strength training to maximise results, relaying you effective instructions if needed should you decide to come in for extra work because why not? You can't help but be motivated. Quite extraordinarily, you can feel and see improvements within the week itself. After 5 months I've bulked up from 70kg to 80kg thanks to his dedicated bespoke sessions as well as extremely helpful nutrition tips. His holistic, patient approach has changed the way I perceive gymming from weightlifting to conditioning to corework(though i'm still not its biggest fan), and I always enjoy and look forward to future sessions with Andrew.
I would highly recommend Andrew and fingers crossed, he might just be able to squeeze some time out of his busy schedule for you.

I have had PTs for years and can honestly say Andrew is the very best. Not only is he knowledgeable on al the technical aspects (muscle, skeletal, posture etc), he knows exactly how to pull together a session that feels like a true workout. Not some random exercises bolted together. And he watches you like a hawk; no snoozing in is watch! And that’s great right? The odd tweak totally transforms the exercise.. and the result!
Yes he pushes you to your limit, yet still inspires you to consistently achieve more. And he does it in a way that shows you that exercise is as much about a mindset as it is about capability. That puts the power with YOU not just your trainer.

His online app is great for keeping track of workouts and has really helped me keep on top of workouts.
