Starting PT with Leszek was the best decision I've ever made for my health and wellbeing. I find it impossible to motivate myself to get up and do any sort of fitness on my own. Having an appointment with a PT who is always smiling and making fitness fun and never a chore has been literally life-changing. It was really hard work to begin with (and still is - if it's not, you're doing it wrong!), but the progress I've made has been unbelievable.

This 6 week exercise class has been exactly what I've been looking for. It has helped me to increase my exercise, eat better, feel fitter, feel better and improve my overall tone. Amazing in 6 weeks I've gained muscle and lost body fat.
Joanne is a great instructor and will work you to your own limits being mindful of any injuries or specific requirements. She will even help with the babies so you can focus on the exercises. This class will really make you feel like you've worked hard and you'll then want to do more in your own time. Joanne will support you with ideas, programmes and help with nutrition.
Great for any mum looking to improve their fitness and overall health.

I have gone to Fitness Soul and Joanna for many years for amazing Zumba classes. During lockdowns I put on weight and this affected my knees. Had some physio and lost some weight and the next step of 1:1 sessions with Joanna has been a great boost to my health all round.
Joanna is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, professional
and motivated to help with fitness goals as well as nutrition and mindset too.
I have learnt so much and am now walking everywhere again which I love whereas before I was sore and stiff most of the time.

I can't recommend Fitmamas or Joanna as a PT enough. It's amazing to be able to have a challenging, personalised workout that I can bring my children along to. I've never felt so strong, and even after a night of broken sleep I leave each class with loads of energy.
Joanna's style of coaching really adds to this as she has such an infectious enthusiasm for making people feel better in themselves. One of the benefits I've found from working out with other mums and their children is not only having a wee cheer squad, but there's always someone to soothe a crying baby/ensure mobile children are safely out of the way! And it's great to be able to connect to other parents and be a sounding board for each other.
It's also an incredibly welcoming gym, I'm usually quite anxious about joining classes expecting them to be intimidating. It's definitely not the case at Fitness Soul, it's a unique place! :)

Absolutely brilliant service. Honestly, if anyone is looking to get fit and lose weight then this is the best place in Edinburgh, by far.
Leszek was absolutely fantastic, as a person in giving me confidence and in personal training. He pushed me to my limits, slowly but surely, but it was a really enjoyable experience, not harsh or an boot-camp style harsh atmosphere. He also made it FUN, which is what a lot of other types of training people forget.
I've lost weight, feel better physically and mentally and struck up a good friendship with Leszek too who is possibly one of the nicest guys around.

I have gone to Fitness Soul for many years so knew that Joanna knew her stuff. I decided to try personal training instead of classes primarily because I had been struggling to lose my lockdown belly and felt that I would benefit from a 1:1 approach. In a surprisingly short time (just a few months), Joanna helped me lose my lockdown belly and I also learnt alot from our sessions regarding exercise, diet, and my body in general. Joanna is very open with her knowledge and I would highly recommend her for personal training as I am sure she will help you achieve your fitness goals.

Leszek is a great coach. Each session is slightly different (so I don’t get bored), whilst always focusing on flexibility, strength, and cardio. Leszek has taken the time to understand what exercises I don’t enjoy and enjoy, so that he focus on tailoring the training sessions to ensure I start to enjoy exercise more than I have in the past!
Having never exercised routinely in the past I’ve really appreciated the one on one sessions as I can go at my own pace whilst Leszek encourages and supports me to push my own boundaries. I now feel confident to go to some group exercise classes.
Leszek has also taken into account a long standing health problem and ensures that I work to strengthen the muscles around the affected area that will help me in the long run. He has also given me advise on how to mitigate the risks of having a desk job and enjoying visits to the pub too often.

Leszek has been a breath of fresh air to work with - just what I needed to round off 2020. Myself and three friends have just completed 14 weeks of group PT (all of us starting with roughly the same fitness level). The sessions have been varied, well structured, and have pushed each of us to achieve our goals. For many years, I've considered myself to be fit, strong and healthy and I've worked with a number of personal trainers during this time - some good and some not so good.
Working with Leszek is different. Firstly, he's a kind, considerate and friendly soul who is evidently committed to what he does.
What I particularly enjoy about working with him is that he listens to what it is you want to achieve and he then helps you to achieve this in tandem with training you for longevity (and not just for looking good).
Looking and feeling better are of course the outcomes of working with him but Leszek trains at 'source' by focusing on a combination of strength, flexibility and endurance to produce the desired outcomes and to therefore help equip his clients for leading longer, healthier, more active lives. After all, what good is strength and muscle mass if you're going to lose flexibility and be unable to move your body in later years?
In working with Leszek, you can fully expect to be pushed to your limits - and sometimes a little beyond them - but Leszek is always aware of where those limits are, is supportive in helping you achieve them and is eager to monitor and measure progress.
If you're looking for a trainer who is as effective as he is unconventional and understanding, go and see Leszek, do what he says and pay what he asks! If your experience is anything like mine, you'll be glad you did!

Highly highly recommend! I've been training with Leszek for 4 months now and am absolutely delighted with the progress I've made.
Leszek is a fantastic coach, really motivates you and he has helped me to get a healthy, balanced view of fitness and nutrition. He's great at seeing when I'm struggling and adapts routines to suit. We tried lots of different types of exercises to see what I enjoyed, so there's a lot of variety, this training is really suitable for everyone! The biggest shock for me is although I always hated running, with his tips and advice I've found a love for it and am now training for a half marathon!!
I've never ever stuck with any kind of fitness routine before but he has helped me to make it a genuine lifestyle choice now. No going back! :)

I started personal training with Laszek around 16 weeks ago, mainly to gain back my confidence and improve my overall fitness. Every session has been enjoyable, challenging and different. In the past year, while I have been training with Leszek, I have seen a huge increase in my level of fitness and enjoyment of sport and exercise. Leszek is a highly motivating trainer and takes a real interest in all aspects of your progress, focusing on diet and lifestyle as well as delivering varied and effective personal training sessions. I did a programme of Personal Training at Fitness Soul to try and break the stubborn routine of inactivity and excuses. Two months ago I started going to PT classes with Leszek twice a week. I was overweight, weak as a kitten, full of insecurities about on/off back ache and an achilles heal problem. Leszek has built up mind, body and spirit through: mindset coaching while training; remarkable improvements in strength; and a two KG's weight loss so far! Leszek has been helping me improve my fitness for the past 3 months. He identified some weaknesses and problems with my shoulders which we work to improve every session, as well as providing advice and guidance around what I can and should be doing to improve my overall health and fitness.

I signed up to the City to Summit which is , in many ways, similar or equivalent to an Iron Man. I have always been quite fit and have pushed myself as far as I can in all sporting activities but this was a step into the unknown.
My friend insisted that I meet with Leszek about this endurance event and I quickly realised there is a lot of science and theory to be considered when training and competing in an endurance event. Leszek's knowledge was incredibly impressive and he helped me to understand how the body works (e.g. aerobic versus anaerobic, heart rate zones), useful equipment, the importance of nutrition, how to put together a training programme, the psychological aspect of an endurance event... the list goes on. Above all else, Leszek genuinely believed I was capable of completing the event and was beyond supportive throughout my training programme.
Leszek is second to none in my opinion and I can't recommend him enough. I know I wouldn't have been been able to cross the finish line after 19 hours of exertion without his help!

Leszek helped me in training from my second Ironman triathlon in Lanzarote. Although I started training with him from a position of good fitness and health, I wanted to increase my overall core strength, and Leszeks kettlebell classes were just amazing for this.

Joanna’s Trigger Point Pilates sessions I try very hard not to miss. I swim, I cycle, I run, I sit on a chair, all things which lead to niggles, soreness and tight spots. It is an active way to address all these things in a fun and ultimately relaxing way. For running for me, it prevents those pesky hamstrings or IT band issues becoming problematic. Basically, I don’t understand why anyone would not want to use this opportunity.

At the end of June I (unexpectedly) qualified for the UCI Pump Track World Champs in Chile and to prepare myself for the race I knew I had to work on my strength but didn't know where to start, as I've never trained in a gym or had a PT. A friend of mine recommended that I get in touch with Leszek and after our first meeting I knew that was a good choice. Leszek's energy and enthusiasm is electrifying. Having someone teach me how to lift weights and look after me during sessions was so important, it took away the worry that I could do something wrong and hurt myself. It was hard work but fun and always rewarding. Leszek will push your limits but that's the point, that's how I progressed and got stronger and I definitely don't want to stop. I only wish I had started strength training much earlier in my life. I must add that training with Leszek went beyond him just telling me what to do in the gym, he helped me with my worries and doubts when it comes to racing, and showed me strategies for how to deal with high stress situations. He's an accomplished athlete himself with huge knowledge, a passion for coaching and getting the best out of people.
