To be totally honest, these are a pair of cowboys but that’s just the country music they play while we work out.
Fantastic bootcamp, for someone who fundamentally hated any kind of weightlifting and was always scared of the gym Allen and Chris are down to earth, talented trainers who focus on technique rather than just a meat headed big weights approach. Couldn’t rate them any more and I’ve recommended to multiple friends.
They’ve also taught me the perfect facial expressions for lifting.

Bootcamp is a great class if you want to start to learn how to enjoy the gym and training - it is suitable for all beginners and those who want to try something different, improve their strength both physically and mentally. Chris and Allen are great trainers who consistently encourage you to do better. They tailor the workouts to your needs to ensure you improve every week. It's amazing what a community they have managed to build! I have made great friends attending this class and improved my fitness!

The expertise in lifting and ethos created by Learn to Lift is excellent. Both Allen and Chris are knowledgeable in a wide variety of training techniques and strength sports, and both take the time to really get to know you and your fitness goals before applying their knowledge. Allen and Chris have created an incredible training environment for all abilities and levels. Their excellent level of expertise can guide beginners and help you train around injury or existing issues. I have learnt so much about strength training and nutrition from them giving me a far more positive view and level of comfort around it. Learn to lift training has been the best experience for me! I joined after serious illness, at a point where I was physically very weak. A year of training with Allen and Chris and I was lifting 10x what I was prior. I have grown in confidence and in strength. I’ve been training with Chris for over 4 years now and I can’t recommend him highly enough. When I started I was in probably the worst shape of my life a year on from baby 1 and I felt going to the gym was a real slog. But the sessions with Chris were amazing and really enjoyable. I discovered I actually enjoy lifting weights! Now 2 years on from baby 2 I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been and more importantly I feel fit and strong. I would never have had the confidence to go in to a gym and start lifting without Chris so if you’re thinking about starting - do it! You won’t regret it.

I’ve been training with Chris for a few years now and my strength, technique and knowledge have all improved significantly since I started training with him. He’s always reading and learning about the latest developments in the industry and incorporates this into training where relevant and so training never feels stale. Chris also strikes the right balance between getting results (however you define those) and recognising that his clients have a life outside of training.
Excellent PT knowledge and skills aside, Chris is professional and consistent in how he runs his business. And he’s got decent chat and is very easy to get on with.

I’ve been attending Chris and Allen’s bootcamp for a couple of years now and I can honestly say I look forward to each session, which isn’t something I’ve felt about exercise before. When I started using Learn to lift I had never been in a gym and could barely make it up the stairs, Alan wanted to meet me before we started and spent a good hour finding out what I wanted to achieve. I was made to feel comfortable as I was a bit embarrassed about the whole thing.
A year later I had lost just under 2 stone, could bench press my body weight and dead lift 3 times it.
It wasn't just the lifting, the nutritional side of things was great, all being suited to my body weights and goals.
I feel comfortable in myself going to the gym but more importantly alott more confident in general

Not only are you fitter and leaner but the sense of achievement is unparalleled! The trainers Allen and Chris are very professional and knowledgeable as well as incredibly nice-they push, motivate and work with you.You also end up bonding really well with your training group and everyone is so supportive of each other. I have attended learn to lift training for a couple years now.
I picked Allen as a PT because of his background as a Scottish IPF Champion and my goal is to compete in the IPF.
Both Allen and Chris are really knowledgable PT’s that tailor the programme around your goals and are really supportive, will teach you to lift properly with the correct form while also teaching you about programming, mobility and nutrition. It’s thanks to them I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.

As someone who is fairly new to weight lifting, this bootcamp has brought me on leaps and bounds. Allen and Chris are extremely supportive and adaptable to the different levels in the class. Everyone has been very welcoming and the extra Facebook page is a great support mechanism. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. I can't recommend it enough. Great covid procedures in place, sanitiser upon entry and anti bacterial spray available for the equipment.
