Signing up with Shaun was one of the best things I have ever done! Shaun has helped me achieve my goals so far and I love our sessions. He makes it fun and enjoyable to train and he is very motivating and encouraging! Shaun is absolutely the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. What I like about Shaun is that he knows how to motivate me, he makes each of my training sessions challenging but rewarding. I would have no hesitation in recommending him as your personal trainer if you want to achieve your fitness and health goals. I was recommended to Shaun by a personal friend. I had injured my back lifting a heavy box into my van. I was barely able to walk afterwards for several days. After seeing Shaun for a consultation he managed to get me back to full mobility in a couple of sessions and i was able to go snowboarding for a week over Christmas and then drive my car competitively last weekend without any issues at all. I can't thank him enough for enabling me to get back to my activities and have no reservations in recommending him as he is very knowledgeable and professional.

I've been training with Shaun for just over a year and I still love it. So i went to see Shaun with my back problem, he could my movements was very isolated and gave me daily stretches and gave a firm back massage! I’ve noticed a difference within a couple of weeks with different types of massages and cupping including the stretching. I cannot thank him enough at affordable prices! I started training with Shaun in April and it’s the best thing I have ever done.
I had spent many months running three times a week, and was careful with what I ate but felt as though nothing was changing.
I needed some guidance, support, structure, and encouragement. Advise on my diet and exercise regime.
When I first started I had major issues with my foot (plantar fasciitis) that was extremely painful. Shaun resolved the problem with sport massage very quickly. We then started on the training.
He has encouraged and pushed me to try harder, given me so much confidence and taught me to love exercise.
He has supported my love of food and guided me over the past six months to lose a total of 2 and half stone. My body shape has changed for the better, I am much happier and fitter than I have ever been.
This is all thanks to Shaun. I am so grateful for everything he has done for me to date, and as our journey continues I am excited to see what the future holds.

I honestly don't know where to start with Shaun and his level of expertise. I started with Shaun about a year ago and he has taken me to another level in terms of fitness and knowledge of the nutrition.
He is not only an amazing personal trainer but I think he is an amazing human being. He checks up on me almost everyday to see how I am, not only physically but mentally to. Holistic approach is what sets up Shaun's Optimum Fitness out from the rest. If you have a slight niggle he will KNOW how to sort it and guide the day's session so that any existing injury or new injury does not flare up. From the moment you walk in, to the one on one time with the main man until you leave you feel like you have been looked after. I could not recommend Shaun highly enough. If you want to lose weight, feel good and be mentally stronger look no further.

I trained with Shaun for roughly 2-3 years and my main aim was weightless for my upcoming wedding. In total I lost around 3.5 stones and fell in love with weightlifting. Shaun is super knowledgable about all things health, body, wellness and nutrient. Shaun has be excellent from day one. Having never entered a gym, he gives that personal space and allowed to ease our way in. Keeping on top off our food plan which I've never heard off before! But it definitely works.
We started not long ago. Shaun wipes down all equipments before and after each session.
I feel much stronger than before and my body can do more than I actually thought. Good session each time and a lovely gentleman.

Amazing!!! Started with Shaun 5 years ago with absolutely no confidence in the gym. I needed a small intimate space and this is exactly the service he provided. I first visited Shaun 5 weeks ago with about 20% movement in my back neck and hips. I’d put up with this condition for well over 15 years. It was very painful with regular spasms which put me on my knees with pain.
After a stay in hospital with this condition I decided the nhs couldn’t help as they only wanted to give me pain killers. So I contacted Shaun who I knew a little and after reading his reviews I rang for an appointment to see if his treatment would be good for me. I’m so glad I contacted him in 5 short weeks I’ve got at least 90% movement back and he’s restored my confidence I will keep my treatment up until I get 100% back then it’s maintenance perhaps once a month.

Met Shaun through my older brother, working a manual job I was having shoulder and back issues that were getting worse over time, through mobility work with Shaun this is has greatly improved and I am beginning to work with him in weightlifting. In only a few weeks I have seen big progress in my lifts and already see a physical difference. Any issue I have regarding mobility or technique Shaun is there to address and it does provide confidence to know that I have somebody training me that knows what he is doing.
Very highly recommend Shaun to anyone for issues with mobility, or in training and fitness, he is able to identify mobility issues by just observing your movements and has the knowledge to get them ironed out quickly to keep you training.

I started my training with Shaun at the beginning of March this year. My main goal was to feel fitter and tone up. I am also a sufferer of anxiety and have bad sleeping patterns, so I wanted to get back into regular exercise to help with this too. I work within an office environment and also travel for work, so finding the motivation to keep fit was difficult.
Before joining Optimum Fitness, Shaun was great from the initial enquiry; he got back to me quickly, understood what I was looking for and booked me in to see him the following day to discuss further. I had enquired into other personal training services in Leicester, but Shaun’s responsiveness and service were by far the best.
Shaun was very approachable and made me feel at ease from the moment I walked into the gym. We had an informal chat about what I was looking for and areas I wanted to improve and work on. He showed me a range of exercises to give me a taste of what to expect and this also gave me the opportunity to get a feel for the gym; get to know Shaun and how he works with his clients.
What impressed me the most was Shaun’s fun and friendly nature, his passion and enthusiasm, his extensive knowledge of the industry and the research he puts into this work to ensure his clients get the best quality results. His scientific background and knowledge is definitely his unique selling point and from this initial session, I knew I was in safe hands.
He tailors your session to suit your individual needs and never pushes you to do anything you may not feel comfortable with. He’s attentive during every session and focuses not only on your progression and technique but your mobility too. He’s taught me different stretching exercises that have helped to avoid injury and improve my technique and performance when in session.
Having been with Shaun for only 4 months I have already seen a massive improvement in my fitness, body, as well as my diet and mental wellbeing. I began to see the difference within the first 2 months and wouldn’t have come as far as I have now if it wasn’t for Shaun.
We are now logging sessions and increasing reps and weights every week to ensure I’m always improving. Shaun has helped a great deal with my diet, where I’ve gone from eating hardly anything to eating healthier meals and still being able to enjoy the foods that I love.
Shaun is also understanding of my working life and never judges me if I’ve had a bad week with food, or if been away for work and unable to get to the gym on site. He gives me hints and tips that I can implement while I’m away to ensure I stay on track when I’m away/miss a session.
If I’ve had a tough day or feel extremely anxious from my personal/work life, Shaun allows me to talk things through during the season and offers great perspective, advice, and encouragement on how to overcome these personal challenges. My sleeping patterns have improved massively and my anxiety feels more in control than it has done in years.
Shaun genuinely goes above and beyond to ensure that his clients are given a high standard of service and it is evident that he truly wants the best for his clients. He enjoys what he does and this shines through during every session. He’s fun, friendly, enthusiastic, motivating and genuinely cares just as much as you do about both your fitness and personal goals.
I cannot thank Shaun enough and would recommend him to anyone without any reservations.

If you are looking for a small private gym, then I would recommend Optimum fitness.
Shaun eases you into a program that considers the stage you are at and encourages you to develop your fitness with lots of mobility stretches, especially as I had a few niggles with some joint areas which Shaun massaged out to gain greater movement.
He has an encouraging, supportive nature and continues to develop his knowledge by attending various courses to keep himself in the know.
A great way to start your road to fitness if you desire a smaller gym with a personalised approach to fitness!

Met Shaun through my older brother, began training in the summer after my first year at University. As someone who’s trained on and off for several years and after seeing several personal trainers - i’ve learnt more training here in three months than i have in the years before.
I went from eating 1400kcals to 2400kcals. In that time i’ve lost fat and put on noticeable muscle - receiving compliments from family, friends and work colleagues.
Due to playing sport from a young age i’ve developed a tightness in my quadriceps/hamstrings but under the guidance and expertise from Shaun, i’ve paid particular attention to improving my mobility and now function free from pain.
Previous trainers have tried to implement onerous diets which include eating 5 meals a day with foods that lack flavour and foods i don’t like. Training with Shaun i manage my calories and i work in my favourite foods into my diet. Given Shaun’s previous experience working 9-5, he understands the day to day life that the majority of people live and factors that in his advice - making diets easier to follow and more sustainable.
Shaun’s passion for training has shone through and he’s committed to ensuring his clients live a better quality of life. He’s there should you require support, advice or any queries.
I’ve learnt about Macronutrients in detail and unlike other personal trainers - Shaun is not put off by my dietary choice (I’m currently a Vegetarian looking to become Vegan) which provides me with the support i need. In fact he gives me vegetarian recipes i should try!

I I went to Shaun with a back problem and was in a lot of pain. Shaun recognised that the cause of my problem was in my hips and recommend some exercises to improve the movement of my hips. Went to Shaun on the reccomendation of my brothers. A car accident left me with pain and poor flexibility in my shoulder (rotator cuff damage), arms and side. I attended sessions with an insurance reccomended physio that were not suited towards my needs and such did very little to rectify the issue. After the first sports massage session with Shaun I could physically feel the difference, he noticed knots all over my body due to both the accident and working a desk job and managed to push all of them out reducing my pain and improving flexibility. I have continued to use him not only for ongoing recovery but personal training also. Recently I had a cupping session on my back which has assisted with releasing alot of the tension that has built up from working a desk job. The cupping session was alot more relaxing and less painful than a traditional sports massage. Guidance and aftercare are brilliant and really assist with the healing process post sessions. I reccomend this place for anyone suffering from the reproccusions of an accident or the struggles of working desk jobs. With the current climate all COVID messures are being undertaken and as such I felt very safe as it is a private session in a large clean space.
