Reviews of PSYCH ELITE PERFORMANCE
I’ve been training with Tom for a number of years and I’ve gained so much knowledge and confidence in the gym. Tom is very professional. He is always responsive within a timely manner and on hand in a time of need. His aim is to get the best out of you to maximise your potential and avoid injury. Couldn’t recommend him enough!
Meeting Thomas and working with him has been a life changer for me. He inspires me and helps me a lot, to get better both in coaching and in training. Thomas' coaching cues and technique work helped me progress much more with my bench & deadlift already! 100% recommend for anyone looking for a coach in Liverpool Area!!
Tom is an excellent personal trainer, and he is very encouraging to his students and athletes. Even as a beginner, I am seeing significant progress in my powerlifting with his training programme and it gave me confidence to compete in Varsity for the first time. He is kind and understanding, so his professional relationship with his trainees is warm and supportive.
Excellent group coaching for powerlifting sessions at the University of Liverpool. We have a mix of beginner and advanced lifters and Tom is well suited to coach both. Would recommend his coaching, both online and in person. Great value for money and worth trying as you’re unlikely to be disappointed!
Thomas has been coaching for our Powerlifting team at the Strength and Conditioning Society at the University of Liverpool since beginning of October 2021 and has proved to be an excellent coach for both our beginner and advanced members.
He has provided programming for all members who needed/requested it taking into consideration their experience as a lifter and weak/sticking points. He has also provided a wealth of knowledge about the sport of powerlifting as well as the training and mindset required for it. Thomas has not only coached members through learning and improving their technique on the three big lifts (squat bench deadlift) but has also provided assistance with recommended mobility and accessory exercises for members to help them further improve on these lifts.
Thomas is coaching for us leading up to, during and after varsity Powerlifting and we are hoping he shall stay with us beyond this year too as we build on the progress the team has made this year, looking into taking the team further afield competitively with his coaching into the future.
Thomas is a great coach for anyone looking to be competitive due to his being an encyclopaedia on the rules of different federations and competitive bodies in Powerlifting and we at Strength and Conditioning have always felt confident (and put at ease) that we can rely on him to clear up any uncertainties or questions members of the team have had about competing.
He has also helped me personally with corrective exercises for an injury pertaining to my abductor muscles. Highly impressive as he was able to spot the issue just by observing slight asymmetries in my squat movement. Through helping me with cues and positioning he has helped me comfortably complete lifts I had previously failed as well.
I would recommend Thomas to anyone looking into receiving coaching for Powerlifting whether beginner, advanced or competitive.
Elliott Wood,
Competition secretary for the Strength and Conditioning Society at the University of Liverpool.
Best coach you could ask for.
"I want my clients to be better and stronger than me". This is the ethos Tom instills in his programming, and it has helped improve and condition everyone he's coached.
My back used to hurt when I deadlift and squat but he helped develop my form, which prevented further injuries. I am now stronger I have ever been.
Always in communication, makes sure you're happy with the programme. Very dedicated and determined.
I’ve been using the online coaching service for several months and I’ve gained so much strength and confidence in the gym. Thomas is very approachable, is always available to give advice and works with you rather than just tells you what to do. 6 out of 5 stars!
Having only recently started working with Tom as my sports psychologist, I have seen massive improvements in my mental game towards my sport. His knowledge base and professionalism are both outstanding and I couldn’t recommend him enough
When it comes to knowledge and passion for powerlifting, Tom is one of the top trainers out there.
Through his help (and consistent training), I was able to add about 100lb to my squats in about a year, along with recovery from a previous back injury.
If you are serious about strength or powerlifting, you should definitely give Tom a try.
I spent a couple months with Tom learning the 3 foundational lifts of power lifting; squats, deadlifts, and bench press. During rest times Tom would often share his philosophy on life. He's not just about training the body and encourages growth in all aspects of life. Not only did I learn proper form and technique but I also walked away with conversations to reflect on. Time and money well spent.
