I’ve worked with James twice, both times I’ve achieved results I knew I couldn’t have by myself. I’ve seen true value in James’s coaching taking away the pressure of managing what advice to apply to my workout, my lifestyle habits and my nutrition- whilst constantly looking at what is and isn’t working without me feeling overwhelmed. My training has completely changed with James’s help- and I’m someone who’s been going to the gym for over 10 years. I can’t recommend him enough to anyone who wants to see what they can achieve!

So! I started training with James back in 2014 and was a client of his for 4 years. By the time I started to train with James I had already lost quite a lot of weight but I felt I needed someone to push me that much further, James did not disappoint! It was with James that I found the love of lifting weights, with his guidance, encouragement and dedication to me as a client i went from strength to strength, not only did this improve my body composition it improved my mental health. James was alway very knowledgable and if ever I asked a question he always knew the answer, he taught me how to track my food and find the right plan for me. James is a fantastic trainer/coach and someone I would highly recommend. I only wish he was still in my local area so that I could still train with him.

I trained with James during his time in Sydney for around 15 weeks and achieved excellent results. I was already training by myself but really wanted to build on my knowledge of weight training and nutrition and achieve new goals. James was fantastic at tailoring a program for my specific goals and really listened to what I was after. He carefully explained all manner of concepts around form, training intensity, nutrition and movements and what muscles were being targeted as we trained. I found him to be super supportive both in and outside of the gym, answering queries when they arose. I think it was because of this supportive manner that he got the best out of me. Having trained with James I feel equipped with the knowledge to continue my training journey. If you are willing to put in the effort and follow the plan you will achieve great results with James.

When I first started training with James in February 2019, I was 111kg and around 35-40% body fat. I walked out the door 9 months later weighing 79kg, with abs and muscle definition. James is hands down the best trainer I’ve ever had in a gym. Not only did he push me through my workouts, he gave me a plan to execute to ensure I hit my goals. From nutrition advice, workouts to do in my own time, strategies to overcome bad eating habits and plans to ensure I stayed on track through many business trips and family holidays, James provided the full package. James is such a committed coach, he thoroughly plans your sessions according to your goals. I had always struggled with training but James spent time teaching 'why' you do something not just 'how' and the importance of rest and recovery. I've been working out for a long time but have never had results like I've had with James. He's taken my dietary considerations into account and given me a great meal plan on which I've not been hungry at all. He knows exactly how far to push me during our training sessions, and he's been really great about passing on little training tips and explanations as I've progressed. You know that statistic about people losing weight that says more than half of the weight lost is regained in the first two years. Well James became my trainer not long after I had completed a transformation and lost 10kg. James had the difficult task of teaching me how to maintain the weight loss (without being obsessed about it) and also gain strength. His expertise and understanding of where my head was at each time we trained helped me not become one of those statistics and I definitely gained strength, reaching my goal of dead lifting 100kg - something I never dreamed possible weighing 58kg and being in my mid (to late) 40’s. His pragmatic approach to dieting allowed me to find the balance I needed to stay lean but also have a life and not feel guilty. James has been, and continues to be, an exceptional trainer who in a short space of time has allowed me to lose a drastic amount of weight, and completely overhauled my lifestyle with regards to both diet and exercise.
I began my weight loss journey back in March 2020 when I was extremely conscious of the weight I had put on over the last few years through long working hours, feeling constantly run down and not taking care of myself properly. Having always had weight issues, and no experience of training whatsoever, I started extensive research and meetings to find the right trainer for me. Not sure what to expect, I cast the net wide and met the majority of the leading players in the London body transformation field such as Ultimate Performance, Matt Roberts Revolution, Evolve Fitness and notable “celebrity” trainers. Whilst I am sure they do a great job for many people, with most of them I felt like just another person on an endless conveyor belt of clients, receiving a totally impersonal proposition and a substandard attitude.
It was by a pure stroke of luck that I was introduced to James. From our initial first meeting, James stood out immediately as humble, reliable and professional. We had a detailed discussion where we discussed my goals, what were each of our expectations, and my weight history. James straight away got what I needed and I was categorically told “we will not fail, we will achieve what we set out to get done”. Despite me doing my best to act coy, I had already decided that James would be the right person to guide me through my weight loss journey, and this was only confirmed by a trial session at the Jubilee Hall Gym in Covent Garden. The gym James uses is fantastic – it is well spaced out (both pre and post COVID era!), the atmosphere is unintimidating and facilities are excellent.
We were all set to go upon my return from holiday in March 2020 during which the UK went into lockdown. I was immediately resigned to the fact that my long-awaited lifestyle overhaul would have to wait. James however proactively reached out suggesting we start anyway via FaceTime and it couldn’t have worked out better. Starting virtually and then transitioning into the gym, I began to achieve results within the first two weeks and the weight began to fly off. James also set up an expert diet programme for me, giving me clear guidelines with regards to portion control but at the same time giving me the choice to choose from a wide range of foods which was supplemented by constant practical advice on how to manage different scenarios such as meal preparation and managing eating out situations.
One of the qualities I admire most in James is his attention to detail. We have followed a data-driven approach where all aspects of my day to day life are recorded and reviewed weekly, from the food I eat, to my step count, to my general day to day comments. He is always quick to respond to any questions I have even out of hours, always without judgment. Furthermore, in the gym, he is excellent at explaining the exercises and correcting technique. This was particularly useful in my case being a complete beginner and unfamiliar with almost all the gym equipment. James easily broke down the exercises into simply steps, correcting my technique where necessary and adjusting the level of difficulty to ensure progress. Having observed the many personal training offers in the gym, James clearly stands out amongst the other trainers as someone who is able to manage a variety of clients at different levels, all with success. James also employs many different tools including various apps, video recordings, and theory documents, all of which have complemented the process and ensured results are achieved.
As we have now reached the end of what I initially set out achieve, I cannot have imagined this process to have gone any better. It has been a positive and enjoyable experience with James at my side, and now 23kg lighter, my lifestyle has completely transformed for the better. With James' help, I have achieved life changing results!

I started working with James because I wanted to get in shape for a photoshoot. I’ve always had quite a lot of muscle but I like to eat a lot, and have little will power so I wasn’t as lean as I could be and I’ve never really had defined abs. I decided that my goal was to get down to a bodyweight where I could see my abs.
James provided me with a spreadsheet to track my weight, activity, food intake and other factors affecting my progress. He checked in with me each week without fail, helped me to assess what had gone well and not so well with the week, and set some goals for the next week. I was really impressed with how thorough James is.
For me, the most valuable part of working with James is the accountability. I find it really beneficial to have someone checking that I’m doing what I say I’m going to do, and holding me to account when I don’t do it. James sees me as more capable than I see myself, and he is firm without being harsh. He listened to what my goals are and holds me to a higher standard than I hold myself! I’ve learnt a lot about how I view food, and what works best for me when it comes to diet. With James’ help I’ve achieved a lot more than I could have done on my own.
I would highly recommend James to anyone looking to drop body fat and get into awesome shape!

James's is a world class Personal Trainer. His methods work!
I've been trying to lose the last 20 or so pounds (9kg) or so, and I was in a stall for about 3-4 months.
I had successfully lost about 60lbs prior to this, over many months, just trying different diets and methods, however, when it came to losing the last 20 pounds or so, I was hitting a brick wall.
I had watched 100's of videos on Youtube, tried various different exercises and diets to no avail. I then came across a Men's Health article about a person that achieved incredible success with James, and I decided I want that too, so I reached out to James.
James set me up with a personalized plan uniquely tailored to me. Set out a goal, gave me a clear diet/nutrition plan, a workout routine that utilizes the minimal equipment I have at home and sent me to work.
A month later, I have pushed past my plateaus and I am down 10lb to my lowest weight I have been at since highscool. All this while clearly building some muscle on my physique. His training videos have been so helpful to me because he spells out details about how you can correct some of the movements based on your unique body composition (height / length of limbs etc.) He also gives you deep insights on queues and tips on how to make a given exercise more effective, trying to get the best out of you.
All in all I am thrilled at my results and feel that signing up with James has been such a game changer in my quest for a better healthier happier me.

James is a great PT, I can’t rate him highly enough! He took me from mid 20s body fat to low teens in a matter of months! He is a hard taskmaster but if your committed to achieving your goals you wont find many better!

I've trained with James since July 2018 when I was overweight and over life, throughout 2019 where he helped me maintain a healthy weight having worked with me to lose 28kg and dropped my body fat from +35% to 10% in 2018, and then in February 2020 when I decided I needed a new challenge and wanted to get "photoshoot" lean again.
So I've been on a journey with James from complete gym novice with no knowledge of nutrition, to how to lose a lot of weight fairly quickly, to maintaining a healthy weight through a balanced diet and resistance training where I've added lean body mass and got stronger, to more recently in 2020 where he's helped me get rid of bad habits around weekend binge eating which I started doing earlier in the year to deal with emotional issues and which continued for a couple of during lockdown while I was confined to home. During lockdown we trained virtually with me using resistance bands, I adjusted my nutrition, and now we are training back in the gym at Jubilee Hall.
The results both physically and mentally speak for themselves, along with the fact I have continued to train with James in some way for over two years - he's educated, coached and trained me in through different phases of my life, and I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
Whether you want to lose weight, if you're new to weight training or have a lot of experience, if you know a lot or very little about nutrition, if you have habits you want to get rid of and new habits you want to create, James will work with you to achieve those.
From the beginning and to today I feel like it is something we are doing together, and thats been the case over the last 18 weeks. I have complete confidence and trust in him and his expertise in regards training and nutrition. He pushes me but also supports and encourages me, he has found a magical mix of the three that has clearly worked. He informs me about what and why we are doing what we are doing, he's patient with me. The training is always tough, and I've been pushed beyond what I thought I could do, and I've learnt about the nutritional side of food, what and why I should be eating.
We have even been featured in Mens Health online (twice!) in June and December 2019, and in the US Magazine in January 2020 - a testimony to James' results from an industry leading publication.
