Not your run-of-the mill college but offers experiential and very challenging ways of learning. I get the impression that once one graduates from the HPD course, clients can benefit from a true, non-manual based counselling experience. I will mention though that the course requires a student who is fully committed to go very uncomfortable places.

Fantastic college! Chris, the Director, is phenomenal. The bad reviews say more about the people writing them than the learning institution.

The self-development and growth I’ve had personally whilst on this course so far has been great. In my experience, the focus seems to be on how we develop as counsellors, rather than too much focus on paperwork and grades, which is perfect for me! The openness we all have in the group feels safe and refreshing!

Now a qualified counsellor. I have a lot to thank LCandCTA for what they taught me on the level 2 and 3 courses.

I found this course challenging in a very good way. Through their openness, honesty and empathy, the tutors pushed me to be honest with myself and explore my own experiences so I could develop the necessary self-awareness to become a competent therapist. I learned to go behind the front I had developed over the years and face my vulnerabilities (we all have them). This brought me much closer to the real me. The course was not easy and nor should it be. The negative reviews appear to be from people who were not ready for such a challenge.
This course is particularly valuable due to the greater focus it has on diveristy issues than other courses. In a country as diverse as ours it is very important to have an in-depth understanding of such issues and this is increasingly being recognised in the sector. I have come across many therapists who criticise the training they had for leaving them under-prepared in this area. This will not happen if you train at LC&CTA.

An organisation built around the heart and soul of helping work. Incredible staff.

Chris Brown c/o Director of LC&CTA. "We are allowing this review to stand as it is rather than remove it; in order to demonstrate how willing we are to work with the difficulties and discontent of any of our students as and when they arise. However, the person who wrote the above review has chosen to use a pseudonym name as no such students exists on any of our student registers. We are rather dismayed at this because everything we teach is about honest, transparent and open dialogue with others whatever the feelings maybe positive or negative. It is evident to us this person whoever he or she is unready to proceed to counselling training in any institution let alone ours. "
