Training with Simone has quickly become the absolute highlight of my week. I am fairly new to exercise, and had several health issues that have been difficult in the past, on top of that, covid meant that I hadn't left my sofa in a long time!
None of that was a problem for Simone, she has been so positive, supportive and constructive. I really feel like I am training *with* someone, as opposed to someone purely instructing me. She's focused on getting better, pushing for a little bit more each time- it really feels like you've got a friend cheerleading you on!
Alongside that, she's hilarious and SO kind. I am honestly just very glad to have crossed paths with her.
I have been thinking about taking up boxing for a long time, but it can be an intimidating sport. I knew I wanted to go at my own pace, and I wasnt ready for a class yet (purely because you can sometimes feel left behind). I looked up trainers and found Simone among a few others, but always too nervous to go ahead.
Purely by accident, I got chatting to a girl I met at the gym, who mentioned that she trained with Simone before she went abroad travelling, and couldnt wait to jump back in again. She said she couldnt find anyone better, anywhere.
I decided I better get back to Simone and bombarded her with texts, and I am so, so glad I did.

Simone is an incredible instructor. Her Mummy's Boxing class is great. She not only provides a fun boxing class where you learn loads and get a great workout but she also takes time to tend to your baby. Simone makes the classes super enjoyable and she's so lovely, professional, caring and encouraging. Going to the class made me feel empowered and I can't wait for the next one.

We loved mummy group boxing so much that we now also do split PT classes with Simone. Classes are friendly and supportive and I can tend to my baby during the sessions. Simone is also on hand to support the babies if we are in the middle of a workout.

I usually find fitness and things like this intimidating as I don't have much experience with training or fitness but I dont feel any of that with Simone as she is very down to Earth, approachable and helpful whilst being professional,very knowledgeable and an excellent trainer.

Mummy Boxing is a great way to meet other new mums and get into great shape at the same time! The class is ideal as you can bring your baby along and whilst working out, you can interact with your baby and feed your baby.
Simone is a fantastic instructor who gives clear direction when training but also great energy to motivate.

Simone’s class has been a fab way to keep fit over lockdown. The class incorporates martial arts techniques with HIIT and is fun and challenging. Simone ensures that the class is suitable for all fitness levels, providing different options for each activity. She ensures ithat the class is pregnancy safe, giving me modified exercises to enable me to participate at each point. Im not local to london at all and never trained with simone before (living in newcastle) but i enjoy the class as a way to connect with the fitness community outside pf my area. Really recommend 😀👍

New year new me and all that I needed some form of exercise that I could really stick to. I'd never tried boxing before apart from some classes at my local gym which had actually turned me off the sport. I found Simone through some fitness forums in my local area and she had such fantastic reviews that I contacted her and straight away was booked in for a one to one. Simone was so supportive and realistic with my goals, advising on how much I should be doing etc and encouraging me to come to class straight away. I'm so glad I did, everyone is so nice and the workouts are familiar each session so you feel a sense of progression but also varied enough that they aren't boring and you aren't clock watching. I started training with Simone only three weeks ago having made many failed attempts at ways to build strength and increase my overall fitness. Classes I had previously tried never seemed quite right and regular gym work was simply too easy to avoid, so a friend recommended Simone as a personal trainer. Immediately, I knew the one to one training with Simone was what I was looking for. Her coaching is fantastic and the boxing techniques she has taught me and the fitness work we do have been fundamental in building my strength and stamina. Simone has the talent to drive motivation with positive reinforcement and encouragement. With complete focus, she has enabled me to work harder and push further than in any other fitness training and the results are fantastic. Simone is able to do all this with absolute charm and her enthusiasm is infectious - it's all a can-do attitude and I really enjoy the sessions, despite being utterly knackered at the end! I signed up to do one to one boxing sessions with Simone. She makes you feel so welcome and is very friendly, energetic and professional.
On our first session she listened to me what my goals are and my current training schedule. As I am already working out with another PT, Simone created a workout that focuses more on boxing.
She created a workout that is challenging but really enjoyable and time goes really quickly. I always look forward to our next session.

Thoroughly recommend Mind Over Matter Boxing! Simone’s enthusiasm is infectious and as a beginner it was great to be shown the different combinations & moves before the class. Great atmosphere in class too and everyone is of different abilities so didn’t feel self-conscious going a bit slower for the first session.
Would totally recommend for anyone looking for a different way to get their exercise in and combat that lockdown-laziness, I've been to four sessions now and absolutely love it! :)

Simone is an amazing and enthusiastic instructor, who instills an positive attitude throughout all her classes. I have attended her Sunday women's only class and her group PT class which were both well structured and very energetic.
After attending my first class, over a month ago, I became totally addicted, and have attended every week since. The classes are an intense full body workout, which accommodates different ages and abilities. The classes take place throughout the week at great times, so that you can pick a class that suits you. Not only do you have fun but Simone teaches you boxing skills as well. I'd highly recommend attending her classes!

Mind Over Matter is a great, super friendly way to get into boxing! Simone is amazing and from the moment you start class you feel welcome. The training is tough but there are always options to tone it down slightly or opt out of sections. It is not at all intimidating, and there is a broad range of ages, ability and experience so you never feel like the odd one out, especially as Simone is so good at matching partners together. Simone has also been extremely kind to my friends + me as well, being students. I would recommend without a second thought to anyone wanting to try out boxing!

I wish I could give more stars. Simone has an energy that you just want to emulate. Great workout, great fun, great people.
Whether you already have skills and just want a decent workout or are totally new to boxing, this is a great place to find yourself. Simone has so much time for beginners and regulars and will get you boxing with good technique right from the start. The other people in the class are also really friendly which helps when you are starting out. More than that though, the majority in the class have been doing it for years which is testimony to how much fun it is and what a great workout you get.

I did Simone’s online class tonight for the first time and absolutely loved it! I’ve not done any of Simone’s classes before or otherwise trained with her but she put me at ease from the first contact I had with her - sent me sample videos to help me see the combos used in class and was so helpful, friendly and informative. It was a fantastic workout - even using some tins of beans from the cupboard as I hadn’t got round to getting any dumbbells yet lol. I’ve been going to Simone’s mummy boxing class for over a year and have just started PT sessions with her. I always come out of a training session feeling energised, clear headed (boxing is as good for the mind as the body) and like I’ve had an amazing work out.
I love training with Simone. She is incredibly positive, patient and a brilliant motivator. Training with her is always done in a welcoming, fun and friendly environment. It’s often v. easy to forget how hard you are working.

I reached out to Simone to inquire about her women’s-only boxing classes. I’ve always wanted to try boxing, but found it a little bit intimidating, so I thought a women’s class might make it a little more comfortable. I was a little bummed at first to learn that the women’s-only classes are no longer offered (the classes are still primarily women though). However, Simone was so sweet and she had such glowing reviews that I decided to do a 1-on-1 training session with her to see if I even enjoyed boxing. I’m so glad I did because she was so warm, so welcoming, so positive, just such a wonderful all-around human being that I enjoyed every minute of the session—even the horribly challenging warmup! She was incredibly patient and took time explaining not just the moves and the technique, but also what to expect in her classes so that I would be more comfortable joining—especially the fact that she would pair me up with another woman of a similar skill level so that I could continue to learn at my own pace. Simone was motivating and understanding, pushed me hard, and despite being sore and tired afterwards, I will definitely be attending her classes. Such a great way to have fun, get fit, and feel empowered all at once. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Simone's classes are the most enjoyable fitness classes I've ever been to! Boxing is such a great way to keep fit and the way Simone combines pad work with other boxing-inspired exercises makes the class fun, always different and an AMAZING workout. Boxing is the best ever antidote to the stresses of life! Under Simone's coaching, the classes are challenging but really fun and friendly. My fitness has improved a lot since starting. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a few of Simone's class over the last few months. I'd always thought of myself as above average fitness, but a trip to Simone's class really does put you to the test- she has a fantastic way with people new to boxing and can present it in a really non scary way- but with all the thrills and adrenaline.
It was really good to see a big mix of people types in the group- men and women across a wide age range - so you can go and feel confident you won't be put off on your first go.
All in all it was a fantastic chance for me to try out a sport I had never before tried- and to see if all my endurance fitness of old could hold up in a boxing class. Simone will push you and help you achieve where you have not managed before, and all the while with a smile on her face and a witty joke- just at your most tired!

I've been training with Simone for about 10 years now. Her Mind over matter classes are so good. She mixes boxing with high intensity cardio training. You can do these classes at any level and if you are a beginner she's really friendly and supportive. I've seen a huge difference in my overall fitness levels and I can't recommend Simone's classes enough.

I started here as someone who already did quite a lot of exercise - running/cycling etc. The classes, though, have really pushed me to a new level of fitness that I don't think I could have achieved on my own, and I feel a lot better for it too. Simone encourages you to push yourself quite hard, whatever level you are at. But it's better than doing ordinary circuit training because you're getting to use boxing gloves, which is a lot more fun.

I have had a couple of classes with Simone and she is a great teacher. The classes are fun and you get a total workout. Simone is knowledgeable and enthusiastic and takes the time to attend to your technique and answer questions. I love this class because I feel like a champion. We trained together about 12 years and through this we started doing half marathons together. Simone has the ability to engage all in a challenging workout with actual boxing techniques. She is warm, welcoming and very enthusiastic. You get a full body workout and I found it a great way to de-stress during the work week. I recommend you try this class at least once, it's an experience you have to try yourself. Mums Boxing! Everything about Simone and her classes is awesome...the energy, the workout and the people you meet there. Best of all is Simone, who is great at motivating the group and making sure you enjoy yourself.
The boxing on a Monday and Wednesday is great if you have babies or toddlers with you as they can come along and watch / play / eat a snack. There is lots of room for buggies or kids to play and its easy to dip in and out if you need to tend to the kids for a moment. Simone also helps tailor your exercise if its not long since you've had a baby, great for those that need to be a bit more careful.
Overall I'd say its the best mums class in Dulwich! I'll be sad to leave when I go back to work, but can hopefully step it up to some 121 PT sessions instead.

Simone is a pocket rocket! So full of energy and loads of fun... she also a great teacher and very inspiring.....the class is great for all levels and you don't feel intimidated if you haven't boxed before!! It's a brilliant workout and your little one gets to hang out with other babies and just play! Simone runs group personal training sessions which are great. It doesn't matter your boxing ability or fitness because the class can be adapted for you and you can do as much as you are capable of. The classes are really fun, really tough (in a good way - you feel so good afterwards!), and I feel like I've had such a great work out. I love that the training is centred around boxing as it's a great way to relieve stress as well. Simone really motivates everyone in the group to push hard, and everyone in the group is welcoming and non-judgemental. Amazing personal trainer with great energy & aura, I attended the new mums class with my 3 month old, I haven't done any training for over a year & my body was so out of condition, retraining my body and starting from 0.

Went along to Simone's mum and baby class with my 4month old and absolutely loved it. Simone has such a rare quality. She instantly makes you feel like an old friend while simultaneously working you and your body extremely hard! I've been going to Simone's mummy boxing class for a couple of months now and have just started personal training sessions with her.
Simone is fantastic at pushing you and giving you a full proper body workout whilst also being encouraging, incredibly positive and friendly.
My son loves the mummy boxing class and lays on the mat watching us all and the other babies playing with toys and listening to the tunes. If any of the babies cry then Simone is on hand to help and not let it affect your work out.
It's the only fitness class as a mum that I have done and felt like I've done a proper work out and made a difference to my body. I've tried many classes that you can take babies too and this is by far and away the best.
The personal training session felt like a no brainer. I'm really feeling a difference and Simone is so good at pushing you but keeping you happy and motivated.
This class is a must!

She explained exactly how the class would go, helped me 'kit up', happily lending me what I needed and was encouraging and positive from the off. I REALLY enjoyed the class. Proper boxing classes and coaching. Simone is an international level competitor and coach. The training is high intensity but Simone is a fantastic motivator, always on hand with coaching cues and full of informative advise on each drill and technique. As others have said, this is not a boxercise class, Simone offers full boxing training and can take anyone who's willing to their full athletic potential. I started Simone's class in January as my kids were interested in boxing, but I've become hooked myself! It's a really full on but fun 90 mins which is kept interesting with different sequences.
Children are taken off in a separate group while the grown ups work in pairs. It's a good mix of men/women and everyone is there to train hard without taking it too seriously. Boxing is great way to vent off weekly frustrations as well as get seriously fit.
Simone is the perfect mix of friendly encouragement and total badass which makes you work your socks off - she keeps you motivated! I've already recommended this class to friends, who are equally hooked.

When i was undergoing cardiac investigations due to my sisters death she adapted sessions ensuring we were safe to work out whilst unsure if i had a cardiac abnormality. I am now more consistent with working out the variety of sessions that she offers I can adapt to my shift work and she is baby friendly and has toys if I need to bring my children (aged 2 and 5). I first began Simone's boxing classes around 6 years ago, and although I found myself instantly hooked I was forced due to medical reasons to take a long break. I finally returned to train at Mind Over Matter again recently. By this time, I was very unfit and 5 stones overweight and I felt very self- concious about working out in a gym again. However, thanks to Simone's reassurance and encouragement, I perservered and am training regularly; around twice a week I do her classes with the odd personal training now and again. I can proudly tell you that in less than a year, I have shed a huge 4 stones! Needless to say, I am overjoyed and I put my weight loss success down to Simone's classes and eating well.
Not only am I physically in such better shape , I have also found attending these classes to have helped me emotionally, I find the excercise very useful in combating depression. My confidence has grown a great deal as I have become fitter.
Simone has a lovely, friendly, warm way about her and has a bubbly, vibrant personality. Her energy and enthusiasm is an instant motivator during the sessions.

My sister and I have been coming to Mind over matter boxing for almost a month and love coming. We may have come away struggling to walk the next day from our first session but it was worth it! :) It was a little daunting at first joining a class you have no experience in but the coach Simone and all the members make you feel very welcome. To describe the atmosphere it is very friendly and motivating . You aren't made to feel concious of not being as fit or skilled as other members, you are encouraged to just go at your own pace. The classes help you to build strength and learn boxing techniques through a challenging but fun, dynamic routine. I'm glad we joined.

I was a bit anxious at my first session; not only was it my first boxing session but also one of the first post-partum workouts. But Simone was so welcoming and really took care to show me what I needed to do, explaining all the moves and making sure I knew what I was doing. I have been attending Mind over matter boxing from 11 weeks after giving birth to my second child and I absolutely love it. I first attended the "Mummies boxing class" which allowed me to bring my baby in and train in-between seeing to him. This was an absolute god send to my sanity as well as my well being. I have since done women's only boxing classes which again are priceless. Simone runs a very professional boxing gym and all credit must be given to her attitude and professionalism. I have since taken a small break while moving home but I am counting down the days until I can return. The reviews speak volumes and 5 stars does not give her the credit she deserves.

I've recently started boxing with Simone after giving birth three months ago. It is an awesome work-out and the mummies classes are a brilliant way to get some proper exercise in with the baby along. It's a very welcoming and easy going environment - no worries if a baby kicks off - but you still work up a good sweat. Simone is extremely welcoming from the moment you step into your first session. My partner & I were shown how to do our wraps and for the first couple sessions Simone spent extra time making sure we had the combinations right, helped us with our boxing stance and really encourages the whole class to push further. We've been a fair few times now and even with a full class Simone keeps an eye on everyone, dropping a tip here or there or giving any lacklustre performances a nudge! Whether it's your first time boxing or had previous experience you're in for a rigorous workout.

Simone really works you hard with a combination of boxing techniques and cardio work. I go twice a week and felt the difference almost straight away!

Don't be fooled by the smiley, tiny lady who greets you at the door, she makes you do burpees! I hate them and never thought I'd be able to do them. But after a while they become manageable. The fact that I can do them shows how my strength and stamina have improved! I still hate them but I still go back for more!

Lovely, characterful atmosphere and an incredible work out. Beware - this is not Boxercise, it's the real deal, but executed in a wonderfully positive and uplifting way. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, you're encouraged to dig in and work out in a friendly environment side by side with a bunch of nice people. All credit to head trainer Simone who runs this operation. She is a bundle of powerful, fizzing energy who can get you doing bag work, burpees and ball slamming and a whole host of challenging and inventive moves that should be torture but somehow you finish the sessions smiling. Mind over matter boxing is a fantastic boxing gym - focusing on real boxing techniques combined with high intensity cardio. Boxercise THIS IS NOT!!! The classes are challenging but you are always given options to work at a level you feel comfortable but still working hard. The head trainer, Simone is an expert in boxing and Thai boxing and always provides professional guidance, training and motivation. If you are a beginner you'll learn combinations, pad work, footwork and do some serious body weight circuits, if you have a bit more experience of boxing you can spar and do more challenging combinations. It's not an intimidating atmosphere at all which can often be the case going to boxing - especially if you are a woman. Classes and personal training are also very reasonably priced! Everyone who comes to the classes are very friendly and always make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend Mind over Matter!!!!!
