Fantastic experience and brilliant coaches! My coach was Craig who pushed me far beyond what I thought I could do, hard work but worth the push, I would definitely recommend Craig but make sure you go with a positive attitude as he works you hard! ROAR is a great gym and everyone makes you feel welcome, thank you to everyone who contributed to my amazing experience!

Working with Roar was a complete life changing event.

My coach, Craig Laurencin, has been supportive and encouraging throughout. Always pushing me to go further but always in a positive, calm and friendly manner. His expert knowledge of anatomy and sports science is vast and adds great value to the whole experience.

I signed up to Roar Fitness as someone who was terrified of the gym and had very little knowledge of what I needed to do to get the results I wanted - my experience so far has been life changing and I cannot recommend it enough!!
My trainer Craig is an amazing trainer and has a wealth of knowledge, but more importantly he is supportive, encouraging, knows when I need to be pushed and we always have a great laugh each session. It genuinely is like spending an hour with a good friend which makes the workout a lot more enjoyable.
I can’t wait to continue my journey with Roar Fitness and Craig and seeing what goals we can achieve next!

A lot of places that offer personal training offer "results" but what really made the experience at Roar with personal trainer Craig stand out is that the process of getting the results was made as enjoyable as possible! It was a really great experience and I would recommend him personally, and Roar, to anyone.

Can't recommend ROAR higher. I've been working with my trainer Conor over the last 2 months and I value every minute I spend with him. He's been able to take someone with absolutely zero understanding of this area and really build my knowledge and comprehension of what we are achieving. He is fantastic trainer. It's because of this that my time at ROAR is the highlight of my week - a sentence I thought I would never say. This is down to the level of service, attention to detail, and rigour that Conor puts into my workouts and nutrition programme with Matt Lindsay. It's an incredible environment and I imagine a boost to anyone who steps into the building.

Would highly recommend to anyone who is considering getting in shape for whatever reason... From top to bottom, this place is great! The people are friendly, the gym is clean and well-equipped, and the trainers are extremely knowledgeable.
For someone like myself who is ALWAYS busy, I didn't think signing up to a course would be manageable nor make that greater difference to what I do independently - but I can't stress how wrong my assumption was... My trainer Luke has been fantastic! He is always flexible on scheduling, considerate of any physical issues I have, and helps me stay focused on what I want to achieve. For anyone considering signing up, I can offer you a few tips:
1.) Just sign up, don't even think about the cost or time commitment; the sooner you're in, the better your day-to-day life will become!
2.) Don't expect changes after a week or two... It takes time to get results and most importantly you NEED to remain consistent. I would encourage a dog mentality here for both the gym and nutrition. i.e. If you want your dog to lose weight - you get them to exercise regularly and cut the treats for a couple of months - no exceptions. It's very simple logic, but reminding yourself of this during the process helps you stay on track.
3.) Get Luke as your trainer! If you can also get Matt as your nutritionist - it's a winning formula.

Coming to Roar has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, not only is everyone so friendly and the place itself spotlessly clean but 10 weeks in and I’m over 10kgs down so far.
Having never been to a gym before my PT Craig has been nothing short of amazing with his knowledge, encouragement and patience.
At 42 years old I’m now fitter, leaner and stronger than I’ve ever been.

I have used the Roar Fitness on line programme for the last 14 weeks and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I was assigned Luke as my coach and I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you are not able to get into London for one to one training and you have a good knowledge of using a gym then this is a great option. Every 2 to 4 weeks I get a tailored gym work out designed to meet my goals and this is reviewed weekly through a feedback process. I have progressively leaned out and built muscle and love the fact that I have a clear programme to follow both in and out of the gym, gaining results that I have not achieved elsewhere or on my own. Feedback from Luke is always motivating, honest and his knowledge and professionalism throughout the process will get you results if you put the work in.Thanks to Luke I am probably the fittest and leanest i have ever been and proud of this as i approach the big 50!

I have absolutely loved my time at Roar and would recommend it to anyone looking to make a significant change to their fitness levels/physique in a healthy and sustainable way (i.e. not a starvation diet or getting you to do 600000 burpees a day to lose weight). The program is really intelligently put together with an incredible support system through the staff members both on the PT and nutrition side. My trainer is Conor who I have loved working with, he is super supportive and encouraging and knows when to push me or when I am flagging and need a bit of motivation. My nutritionist is Matt who I have also loved working with, he explains the science behind all of his recommendations which is super helpful especially for someone as stubborn as I am. Going to Roar was the best decision I ever made for my well-being and I highly recommend it.

I'm compelled to write a review of Roar London (Eastcheap) having just got to half-way on my 12 week programme. I started on 1st December to give me focus through the dark winter months and the experience to date has been first class.
Right in the heart of The City, the facilities are excellent and the photos on the wall as you walk in make you realise this is a place that delivers results.
Every member of the team is friendly and engaging but special kudos to:
1) Sophie, front of house - warm, good fun and engaging as soon you walk through the door - first impressions always matter,
2) Luke, nutrition - detailed with expert knowledge and encouraging me to eat more (of the right stuff..) - what's not to like, and most of all..
3) Sam, my PT - motivating, challenging and patient in equal measure, he does not miss a trick and his focus on form and tempo has made a material difference to my strength, shape and wellbeing.
Thanks to the team for the support thus far and I look forward to more progress over the second half of the programme.

I have been training with Matt Lindsey. My goal was familiarisation with resistance training and increasing my strength. Previously, I had an ACL reconstruction, I suffer from back pain, few more aches and pains. I was worried I might injure myself in the gym. Matt is extremely experienced trainer, being an ex Olympic athlete reassured me and selected safe and appropriate selection of exercises. Trust me, I am a NHS consultant and I can say that Matt has unparalleled knowledge and continous attention to detail. My pain is gone. Now, as a stronger skier, I have just had most amazing trip to Switzerland. Thanks Matt!

I am currently 6 weeks in to a 12 week transformation at Roar and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Being a bit of a self confessed fitness junkie, and having tried various different gyms/personal trainers I can genuinely say this experience is like no other.
Putting the amazing facilities to one side, what really sets Roar apart are the people.
Training with Lucie over the past 6 weeks has been incredible - I have never felt stronger, and my self confidence has sky rocketed. Having been off with an injury for over a year I was quite nervous about getting back into a gym environment and lifting weights again, but those worries quickly disappeared with Lucie at hand.
There aren't many people that can make a 6.30am gym session something that you look forward to, but Lucie's positivity and unwavering support definitely has that effect!
Having Matt in charge of the nutrition side has been great. I really like the regular follow ups we have, and feel like for the first time I have been learning how to properly fuel my body to get the best out of it.
If you are considering signing up... DO IT!! The only regret I have is not joining sooner.

Joining a new gym can be daunting, whatever your age, size or shape! Joining Roar has been a refreshing and enjoyable experience. In large part this is down to Tom Paulson, my PT. I cannot speak highly enough of his commitment and enthusiasm to each session. He works you to your limit but with such a calm and considered approach that you are driven to achieve the weight and repetitions. I have been training with Nicolle for around 2 months and could not recommend her and the Roar team more highly. I’ve been training with Kari, and can not recommend her enough! She’s an amazing trainer always making sure to challenge you in the best possible way, and pushing you to new numbers you didn’t even think you had in you. The first session I trained with Kari, I went home so inspired because I couldn’t believe the weight I’d been able to lift. The whole team at Roar Fitness is amazing. I am coming to an end of my 3 month transformation journey and it has been such a great experience. My trainer, Jiri, has been very supportive, professional and has provided me with excellent guidance throughout the programme. Every training with Jiri is great fun but also hard work. He listens to his clients, pays attention to their abilities and knows exactly when and how to push you for that one final rep to get the most out of you. I have never been a big gym goer, but thanks to Jiri I've changed my attitude and mindset when it comes to gym and he has taught me a lot. The only negative side is that the sessions last only 1 hour - when you train with Jiri time flies and you will surely leave the gym floor sweaty and tired, but full of positive energy :). Matt, my nutritionist, has also been very supportive, responsive and has provided excellent and insightful guidance throughout the process. I cannot be more complementary about the entire Roar experience.

I have started to train with Kari mid Sept and I can’t recommend her enough! Coming back to the gym after 5 months, starting to train with weights.. it wasn’t easy, and it is still not easy, but Kari is always there to motivate me and help me do my best.
She is very patient, gives me a lot of information about the exercises that I need to do. I think she is very good at understanding the type of client that you are, she cares about the quality of the training and finding the best solution for your profile. She is also a very good listener, I can easily talk about things I (don’t) really enjoy doing, and then she finds the best approach.
I enjoy our sessions as she always has good energy, I have learned a lot of things about weight training. I feel much more stronger and happier with the strength I have!

I joined Roar Fitness almost 3 months ago after struggling with my weight and lack of exercise during lockdown. Having never done weight training or working with a personal trainer, I was very nervous about how my 12 weeks at Roar was going to be. However, having Nicolle as my PT has been amazing and I couldn't be anymore pleased! Nicolle has kept me motivated, been patient and encouraging about what I can achieve while teaching me so much! Not only have I seen a positive change to my weight and growing stronger while training with Nicolle, my mental health has also improved significantly. Which was a very important goal for me. I have to say that I never liked gym sessions … not until I found Roar Fitness and was introduced to Lena Aiello … my amazing personal trainer!! I have always been struggling with my weight and physical appearance and I never thought before that I would enjoy weight training let alone on a regular basis … well here comes Lena!! She is a magnificent person inside our with such a beautiful character!! My training experience with her has been exceptional…!!! her positive energy is contagious and she is so driven to get me looking my best ever!! Highly recommended! I was really sorry to stop training with Tania at Roar Fitness Kensington High Street gym. I've had 3-4 personal trainers over the years, and the trainers here are in a different league. I reached my target weight in 4 months and their dietary advice is excellent. You have to be committed and put in the work, but it is easy with the support they offer.

I trained for 12 weeks with Christian. He was a great trainer - he knew when to push, encourage and motivate me when I didn't think I had it in me to do another rep or lift a heavier weight. Really enjoyed our training sessions together! Plus , achieving my goal of doing unassisted chin ups was the cherry on top :) The nutrition check-ins with Matt were helpful too - got practical advise about building consistency into meals and stopping the binge-restrict-binge relationship with food.

I am coming to the end of my 8 week transformation program and so far its been great. I was very worried about injuring myself or not being able to sustain the workouts... but my trainer Tom Paulson has been incredible. He always makes me feel safe, whilst knowing when he can squeeze that extra rep out of me! I would never be able to push myself in the same way without the help of Tom. I am lifting weights I never thought possible and even though it can be challenging.. it's a great feeling when you push yourself (literally!) out of your comfort zone. I have been training with Kari for over one year now. She is a brilliant trainer. She is extremely knowledgeable and very focused on technique. If I have any niggles or soreness, she will make adjustments so that we can still make the most of our session without causing further aggravation. Our sessions are challenging and Kari will push me, but they are always fun and we have a laugh. Whilst she works me hard, Kari is incredibly personable and down to earth, which I think is so important in a PT. She always knows what mood I am in, and when I need some extra motivation. I have had fantastic results and have extended my plan twice, which is solely down to Kari. I would absolutely recommend Kari if you get the chance to train with her!

Lucie is excellent at pushing me when I need it and also laying off when she can see I'm struggling. The Roar Transformation program is the best investment I have made in my entire life. My trainer Giacomo is an absolute pro - he is super helpful and incredibly focused on giving me the knowledge I need to be successful. He has taken the time to get to know me and what I’m capable of so that he is able to push me exactly where I need to go. In 9 weeks so far, I've attained a greater fitness level than spurts of Keto, Spin Classes and random internet-based exercises. If you're thinking about working with roar, stop and just pull the trigger. It will be the best decision of your life.

She is professional and caring - the perfect mix of a trainer who knows how to get the best out of you and push you too. My first nutritional/body check in, and all my numbers have gone down. ... Also want to say that everyone has been really lovely - other familiar faces in the gym are so nice to see like Ethan, Tom (P, on nutrition has been fab!) - the ladies on reception are SO helpful and Abi was the first person we met and gave the loveliest intro to what could have been an intimidating place.
It's a great crew - no shouting or any "macho" stuff (that can sometimes put people off PT or gyms) and just couldn't recommend it more. The other clients too - we all have a natter in the changing rooms, and compare notes on what we're doing and how we're doing - fab, normal and sweet people! ROCK ON!!

I can’t begin to tell you how positive my experience of Roar has been to date. I first started training at Roar at the start of 2019 and this was my first introduction to weight training. I originally signed up for the 12-week fat loss programme, but I stayed on for another 8 weeks as the results were phenomenal!
Fast forward to 2021 and once lockdown was over, and gyms were open again I knew I wanted to sign up to another block of sessions at Roar. I signed up in April and 7 months later, I am still training twice a week at Roar, and I don’t want to stop! I really put this all down to the wonder who is Kari.
Kari has broken down all barriers to me and weight training and because of her I have lost weight, my back issues have disappeared, my nutrition and sleep are better, and for the first time ever, I actually enjoy going to the gym, which is a bit of a miracle because before Kari and Roar, I found gyms intimidating. Kari – you are an absolute joy to train with (even if I do have the occasional moan) but you keep pushing me to achieve more and more and I couldn’t be more grateful! You’re a real tonic, and you’re like therapy for me! Thank you so much!

My PT Jiri is excellent - professional and supportive, he is always meticulous about coaching the correct technique and provides exactly the right level of challenge to push me harder at each session. I joined Roar in July 2021, after quite a lot of deliberation. It is an expensive programme and I wasn’t sure whether I would (read: was motivated enough) to get the most out of it. I am so pleased that I took the plunge, and my only regret is not joining sooner. I have recently signed up for a second 12 weeks and would really recommend to anyone who is considering for the following reasons:
First, the atmosphere really is friendly - I read that in reviews before I joined and wondered what it meant/why it was relevant (as my typical approach to the gym is to get in and out with minimal interaction!). But it is true! I have never once felt silly or out of place or judged, even not being typical ‘gym physique’ or confident in the move I was doing. As it’s a small gym, you get to know other clients and trainers as the weeks go on and start to feel at home.
Second, the training is top class. Although I was not unfit, I had never weight trained before and was keen to make sure I was doing it properly/avoiding injury. My trainer, Kari Oyenuga, is technically excellent. She really knows her stuff and watches me like a hawk, constantly correcting my form and never letting me get away with a shoddy rep. She takes the time to explain moves thoroughly and clearly, adjusting cues/exercises if I’m not getting it. She knows I want to be able and confident to do the workouts alone in my local gym and is really prepping me to do so - for example, by teaching me how to adjust the machines as well as do the exercises. On a practical note, her flexibility on timings is v helpful, as my work schedule is not consistent and I had been worried about fitting my sessions in. I’ve probably made her sound like a strict schoolteacher (which she is in part!) - but she is also incredibly fun, motivating and encouraging, always bringing energy and positivity to my sessions. Most importantly, she makes me look forward to working out! I could not recommend her highly enough.
Third, the nutrition plan is super helpful. This will always be the hardest bit, as ultimately it still relies on your own motivation. I had great results at the beginning and since then my motivation (and therefore progress) has slowed a bit - I am still losing weight but more slowly. BUT I have found it so helpful to have a tailored plan, as knowing the principles of the diet (how many calories per day, how much for each meal, % carbs etc) helps me to stay roughly on track, even when not following the diet to the letter. The regular check ins keep me honest and my nutritionist, Luke Grahame, has been great - he strikes a great balance between strict and supportive. I worried before I joined that the nutrition plan would simply be unworkable, requiring me to give up my entire social life (which no one needs after the year we’ve all had!)/feel constantly guilty, but it’s not been like that. I know I will get out what I put in and having the basic framework of a daily diet plan has made it easier to strike a balance between achieving my weight loss goals and maintaining my social life.

I'm 6 weeks into a 12 week transformation and it's proving to be a very rewarding experience. I have the pleasure of training with Jake Dousie who is super knowledgable, patient and highly motivating. The 1 hour sessions fly by and he ensures I keep the correct form as well as progressing at a sensible but challenging rate. I always looking forward to training with Jake and feel confident he can help me achieve my goals.
Weight training was entirely new to me to and admittedly a little intimidating. The atmosphere on the gym floor is anything but. All the trainers and staff are friendly and positive. Special shout outs to Giacomo and Kari who have also occasionally stepped in to cover my sessions, they're both amazing.
Matt has been brilliant handling all things nutrition and is always around for a chat even when he's clearly very busy! He has tried to make the diet as manageable as possible, especially when on a higher calorie/bulk type plan. Thanks for the support and inspiration.
The facilities are very impressive and it's a pleasant place to spend my lunchtimes.

Roar and more specifically my trainer Lena got me out of a post lockdown rut I thought I might never get out of. Everything about the training has been exceptional - Lena's knowledge, patience, drive and energy have somehow got me off the daily takeouts and loving weights. If you want something soft and gentle don't bother, but if you want to change your life - as well as your body - Roar is the only option. It comes at a price and frankly it's money I am happy to pay. Save up, get to Roar and I would say ask for Lena, but please don't as I need her to train me for the rest of my life.

I did the 12 week online Roar Fitness programme and my PT was Luke Grahame. Throughout the 12 weeks, Luke worked with me remotely through a combination of videos and messaging to lift heavier weights than I ever thought possible and to become "skinny muscle" rather than "skinny fat"! I struggled with the protein portions but Luke set me up with a flexible app so that I could flex my eating around my likes/dislikes. Every 4 weeks my exercise plan changed and the exercise app showed a video of each new exercise to ensure I approached them correctly and safely. I can truly say that at the outset of my 12 weeks I did not believe that weight lifting alone without cardio could give such dramatic results! I am now a convert and continuing to practise what Luke taught me. Luke was the perfect mix of supportive/challenging and human. First rate and highly recommended!

Over time, Kari has worked out what makes me tick, when I'm feeling strong versus when I've had a bad day and feeling low. There has been laughter and tears! I've been training for about 6 weeks with Roar and am having a fantastic time! It honestly feels like it's flown by and I am over the moon with the results so far. I've lost a lot of weight but also feel much stronger.
I have Lucie as my personal trainer and she's been so fun and supportive. The sessions are hard work but with her guidance and encouragement I feel I can tackle anything in the programme. I have done some basic weight training before but with Lucie's knowledge, I'm learning so much about proper form and new exercises. I feel like with her cheering me on, I'm working harder than I ever would on my own and feel much stronger for it. I would highly recommend Lucie!
I have Matt on nutrition and he's also amazing! He's super lovely to chat with and very encouraging. The plan he's set out for me with the accompanying recipes is super easy to follow. As for the gym itself, it's a really friendly environment to train in. I was a bit apprehensive about going to the gym again after becoming so out of shape. Since starting, I have never felt anything less than welcomed and encouraged at Roar.

I can't speak highly enough of ROAR Fitness! I signed up to the 12 week online training program and I am about to start my final phrase. I have always exercised and been into fitness but never really focused on weight training. Since turning 40, I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t seeing the results considering I worked out most days and ate healthy. Having read about ROAR and Sarah in different magazines explaining the benefits of weight training, and seeing the results on Instagram, I decided to sign up. Wow what a transformation! I have never felt or looked so good!
It’s been a real learning experience even though I thought I knew what I was doing at the gym! Using supersets, the importance of resting in between sets and using tempo correctly have all been a real eye opener.
The importance of nutrition has been so helpful. Introducing macros, what to eat and when, all from simple meal guides. I am eating more than I ever have!
Luke is awesome! He always responds to my messages; gives feedback on any videos I send him about technique and give advices where needed. I love the weekly check in videos as its obvious he checks my measurements, looks at my workouts and reads my feedback form. He is very encouraging and motivating, which is just what you need to keep you going. Building a home gym during lockdown and signing up to ROAR has been the best investment. I will definitely continue with ROAR and Luke after my 12 weeks has finished.

I have been a member of ROAR Fitness since September last year, and I couldn't recommend them more. Over the Lockdowns and changing regulations they have been extremely cautious and made me feel at ease when working out.
My trainer is Tom, and after taking me on just before Christmas, I have really seen a great difference in my body and attitude toward working out.

If you are like me, where you are naturally anxious about the quality of the trainers, given the price you have paid - then I can assure you, like Patrick Bateman walking into Espace, knowing he had a good table - the relief will wash over you, in the most awesome of waves.
You are probably wondering why I am so jubilant - one word: Lena.
She has given me the hunger to want to perform better and better, every time I come back to Roar - while keeping me buoyed so as not to fail or slip up on the 12 week programme. I genuinely feel like I have got the best trainer at Roar, and I am sure, having now been going for 4 weeks - that everyone will feel the same with every trainer at this facility. I trained with Roar over two years ago, doing two courses bak to back [because the results were so good] and am back now for another 12 week course post lockdown. I can genuinely say, it's always delivered both in terms of weight goals/nutrition but more importantly the level of fitness and strength this team can offer. Tom Bulman, my PT, is so positive and supportive but also really specific about movements and precise about form, I'm confident I'm doing everything I can to get the very most out of every minute I spend at the gym.

Honestly Lucie made me fall in love with exercising again. I feel strong, healthy, and ready to kick butt ahead of my wedding. She was a fantastic guide and great fun - but also pushed me hard. I've been really impressed with Lena's knowledge, motivation and attention to form; her smallest tweaks to form have the biggest impact on intensity, and I always come away feeling like I've trained really well even when we're pushing the weight. Nutrition was a big part of the plan, introducing macros, what to eat and when, all from from simple meal guides. The first week or two were a bit of a struggle - to eat that much food - but it was worth sticking to it!
Luke gave clear instructions throughout my plan. He was always looking to tweak my nutrition plan based on my weekly feedback. My workouts considered the limited equipment I have at home, and introduced me to a load of new exercises - with written and video how-to guides. Luke encouraged/pushed me as needed. He always responded to queries quickly and with clear advice. An all-round fantastic trainer.

I have been working with Roar now since gyms opened back on April 12th and 5weeks into my journey. In that time I have followed the Roar Fitness Diet and currently in Phase 3 of my training. Christian has been amazing during this time. He has pushed and educated me (coming from very little gym knowledge and experience before) I am now lifting much heavier weights (more than I ever thought I could) and given me a positive outlook on the transformation journey. I also have specific tightness/weakness in my left shoulder and he has curated additional exercises to tackle this and incorporated mobility exercises into the training plan. Nothing but positive words to say about ROAR Kensington, every time I attend the gym, I am welcomed by polite and lovely reception staff. I have been on my 12-week transformation for six weeks now, my trainer is James Monger, and my nutritionist is Alex Smith. James has helped me fall in love with training again whilst also allowing me to fall in love with myself again. I have so much more confidence now, and I wore a summer dress for the first in a year last week. James is highly knowledgeable, and I have learnt more with him in six weeks than I did training elsewhere in a year.
My training with James is always clear, I always know the steps in my training, and he is honest about what is required. IT IS VERY HARD. But so worth it. James is very professional and always pushes me to believe in myself in my training, helping me achieve and hit my Personal best. He is always friendly and welcomes me every time with a positive attitude. I love my training again and could not imagine training anywhere else. Alex is also highly supportive and very professional. I was extremely nervous in my first weigh-in; I did not have much confidence and felt very self-conscious. However, Alex managed to relax my nerves and supported me through the whole process. He was candid with me about lifestyle changes and explained what was required to succeed and achieve my target weight. He is very supportive and a lovely person.

I joined Roar for a 12 week programme in August 2018 and was in pretty bad shape physically and mentally. My trainer was excellent Ethan Kenny who is an incredibly patient (I could be a nightmare, sorry Ethan!) and knowledgeable PT who clearly loves all things fitness. Ethan taught me how to lift correctly and weights that I never thought possible, listen to him as he knows! After 12 weeks I had lost 10kg and enjoyed the journey so much that, after a few weeks off, I continued training with Ethan for another 5 months and lost a further 5kg. I've been here for 3-4 month stints twice - once in 2019 when I'd never really done weight training and then again after lockdown ahead of my wedding to build on my past experience. Both times have been absolutely great, mainly thanks to the individuals I've worked with. My most recent trainer, Lena Aiello, is an absolute super star. We have made the most astonishing progress and I've got loads stronger. She is such fun to spend time with too and I look forward to every session, and to catching up with her. She has improved my form massively - she has a very clear way of explaining things. Nothing is too daunting or too difficult when training with her - she is endlessly encouraging. She is also a phenomenally hard worker, always going the extra mile and making sure that I get the most out of my experience.
I've been working with Matt Lindsay on nutrition (who I knew from my previous visit) and he's absolutely great: the loveliest guy, super knowledgable and diligent and really excellent at his job.
Last time around I was training with Matt and that was terrific - I learned loads, and it gave me a long-term love for weight training. Like Lena, he was incredibly encouraging. The lovely Josh Faux provided nutritional support and he was absolutely ace too - calm, warm, reassuring. The great thing was the results were sustainable and I felt able to continue training independently afterwards so that my second time around I hit the ground running.
I expected to be intimidated but the team are so kind, understanding and welcoming I couldn't have felt more relaxed. It was a considerable investment for me and I saved up for some time before joining but I've not regretted it once.

I’ve been back at Roar after lockdown interrupted my training, with coach Luke Grahame. If anyone has ever questioned the value of a PT, you need to train with Luke. He ensures you’ve got correct form, that you maintain tempo to maximise your workout and always pushes you harder than you thought you could go. It’s not easy, but it’s fulfilling, you learn so much and their results speak for themselves.
I was a complete novice to weight training and some gyms seemed really intimidating - the Roar environment however is super welcoming and encouraging. I can’t recommend it enough.

I signed up around 2 months ago to the Roar Fitness Online Training and was introduced to my PT Luke Grahame. Luke has been amazing help and has pushed me to new heights in my training. The online training is great because it's tailored to you and what equipment you have access to. After the completing the consultation form my plan was ready for me to start which included nutrition guides, recipes and exercise plan which have changed as I entered a new phase of my plan. Since starting this plan its given me the discipline and structure I need to reach my body goals and I can safely say I am very happy with the results so far. I've become more confident in my body and been able to push its limit with Luke's help. The weekly check-ins with Luke are great, it allows you to get that extra motivation and provides you with any feedback or changes that need to be made.
I'm glad I decided to go ahead with the Online Training with Luke, I wish I had started it earlier. I'm excited to see how much more my body will transform. I would highly recommend the Online Training to anyone that is looking to transform their body.

Never felt compelled to leave a review for anything until Roar. The results, just a month in, speak for themselves and are significantly visible. All credit to Alexandra as a trainer, she is the antithesis of what a stereotypical PT is like - empathetic, gently motivating and able to magic the impossible: make me look forward to early morning sessions in the gym and actually *enjoy* working out. She is so good at pushing you further without you even realising how much harder you worked and just has a lovely, calm, manner that goes a long way to make the whole experience a positive one; I can’t recommend her enough! Another key plus point: the gym itself is free of the sort of competitive, meathead aggression found in rival places which is a huge bonus, especially given it’s all about weights. Didn’t even realise how little I enjoyed cardio/how ineffective it was for me until I started strength training.

I can’t recommend Roar Fitness enough, my only regret is that I didn’t sign up sooner. The tailored approach to both nutrition (with an individualised, easy to follow programme) and exercise (with my brilliant personal trainer, Jordan Bunting) is manageable but has also pushed me in ways I would never achieve on my own or from generic gym classes. Everyone at the Kensington branch are so warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend and if you are thinking of joining, I would definitely recommend asking for Jordan!

Tom is incredibly friendly and approachable, which for someone like me who is uncomfortable and unsure in the gym, let alone the weights area, is really important. I've always enjoyed fitness classes and was (pre-lockdowns) in decent shape, but would never have ventured out of my comfort zone into the weights area. Having put on a metric ton of weight over 3 lockdowns (!!!!) I wanted something that not only would work, but would help me develop healthier habits and teach me more about fitness as I got older (*sigh*). It's been everything I expected and more - Tom has me lifting weights I'd have hardly managed to pick up 4 weeks ago and has kept me smiling the whole time. His training program, exercises and nutrition are very clear and easy to understand. It was all made to help me reach my goals. On a weekly basis he sends a very detailed review of my performance, with recommendation and analysis. This is the best feedback for online training I have ever seen.

I was fortunate enough to be trained by James Castle-Mason and nutritionally guided by Josh Faux while I was at Roar. The attention to detail both on the gym floor and diet-wise is unmatched.
James really focuses on building up your confidence where there is weakness so you can continue when you complete your course. I had lower back issues due to a prior injury and James adjusted all exercise to accommodate this. He has really built up my knowledge of what to focus on to build a fantastic, strong physique and how to maintain it as well.
Nutritional guidance from Josh is second to none. He is always on hand to ensure that nutritionally you are getting what you require while still achieving your goals. I learnt more about nutrition and intake during my check-ins with Josh and how my body responds to certain foods which is invaluable.
After training at Roar, I’ve not only walked away with a physique I am happy with but an incredible amount of knowledge that will now help me achieve new goals.

I just completed an 8 week transformation course at Roar. Everything about it was exceptional - a lot of attention has clearly been paid to the gym environment/facilities, the staff, and the workouts/nutrition plans.
Results-wise, I far exceeded my goals and for the first time in my life, I think I’ve developed a healthy lifestyle that I can do forever. Will always be very grateful to the trainers who helped me - Anca Vrabie (gym PT) and Matt Lindsay (nutrition coach).

I am a client of the roar online program and I can highly recommend it. My trainer is Luke Graham and I couldn’t wish for a better PT. I am from Germany, so I am not able to go to the roar studios. After a very nice phone call with the office I got Luke as trainer. Shortly after I got a consultation form which I had to fill out. After that he built me a nutrition and a workout plan based on my consultation form. I also got a lot of background information about them two. I weekly fill out an online check in, which gets sent to me by mail. And every week I get a check-in video response from Luke which is really really good. After a good week it is awesome to have someone to cheer me on and push me to go further. He also helps me with choosing the weights, and pushes me to train hard. If it was a hard week the check-in brings me motivation to get back on track and be better. The weekly check-ins really give me the force to go to the gym three times a week even in weeks where it feels like there is no time. After 12 weeks I got awesome results and really enjoy the training. If there are problems with an exercise Luke always finds a solution. And after every four weeks I got a new workout plan and maybe a new nutrition plan, if it needs an adaption. I did try a personal trainer in Germany before but as a student it was a to expensive option so I decided to try the roar online program. The roar online program is a perfect combination between online program and personal support. Thanks Luke and the Roar-Team for the awesome experience.

I have just finished my first 12 weeks at Roar and didn't need to think twice about staying on for more; the results speak for themselves!
My personal trainer, Jack, has been truly wonderful. He has really made this experience for me and is certainly one of the main reasons I didn't hesitate to sign up for longer. He is very professional and encouraging, always helping me through the pain of more reps whilst also managing to make me laugh without fail. His knowledge is unwavering, and my sessions are always varied with plenty of time and patience to ensure I have the correct technique. I never thought I would say that I enjoy spending time at the gym, but I definitely look forward to my training sessions with Jack; he is a true asset to the Roar team.
My nutrition with Matt has also been excellent. The support from him has always been there when I need it, and without his incredible knowledge and guidance my first 12 weeks would not have been as successful.

James is hands down the best PT I’ve worked with. His manner is both professional and friendly. He takes the time to explain what each exercise and movement is for, the benefit and where each movement should be firing.
In the time I’ve trained with James, he’s come to understand my movements, fix them and work around limitations I have due to spine surgery I had prior to attending roar.
My own personal understanding of my body, the work I’m doing and my success so far with changing my body shape are down to James and I couldn’t recommend him enough.

Best decision ever! - if you're thinking about signing up then I would recommend!!! I stared at Roar after the summer and after my 12 weeks I was amazed at the results and just how much better I felt - fitness and confidence wise, but also my energy levels and sleep are now better than they have been in years! My trainer, Linda, was amazing - supportive but also pushing me to get the most out of each session whilst also having fun! My nutrition plan was clear and was much easier to stick to than I initially thought with the ongoing support from Matt! I recently completed my 12 week training program with Tom Paulson at ROAR. As a complete beginner in weight training Tom helped me develop confidence with weights as well as slowly build up strength. He is an absolute delight to work with. His choice of weights is great and he always manages to get the best performance out of you in each session. He has a very calm and composed temperament which I found particularly helpful for our gym sessions. I have absolutely loved training with him and will be continuing to train 1x times a week with him post this 12 week program.
I had guidance on nutrition from Matt during my time at ROAR and his knowledge on food groups and intakes is so vast and crystal clear. He always explains in simple English and small tweaks to calorie and fluid intakes under his supervision have made the biggest of differences. I am loving working with Tom Paulson on a transformation programme at Roar. Although the aim is to get results in the short term, Tom’s laser focus on technique is going to help me for years to come. The nutrition plan has been great too and much easier to follow than I anticipated. Matt has a way of making everything very simple and logical and takes out much of the anxiety for someone who finds food complicated like I do.

I initially joined Roar Fitness on their 12-week transformation program, but enjoyed (no make that loved!) it so much that I’m still there now, 9 months on. A major part in my decision to carry on training at Roar was down to my brilliant trainer, Adam Hyams. Adam is a truly talented personal trainer, who goes above and beyond to ensure that I succeed and makes every session enjoyable – even with what feels like his slowest three second counting known to man! He tailors every session for my ability and strength, and knows when I can do that extra leg curl, go up a weight or correct my technique by a millimetre – he pushes me harder and believes in me more than I would ever push or believe in myself if I was training on my own. As a result, not only have I become incredibly strong, and much leaner (my initial goal) but my confidence and mental health has improved immensely too. When I'm unable to train, I really do miss my sessions.
The whole set-up at Roar has been designed to help you succeed and achieve your goals. As well as your dedicated trainer, you’re also assigned somebody to tailor your nutrition plans (thank you Josh you're a dream!), which are tweaked and adjusted every 3 weeks. And should you need physio support, then that's right there on site too. The atmosphere is such a warm and congenial one that you actually look forward to every appointment. Whilst some gyms can be overwhelming and intimidating, Roar is the complete opposite where everybody is extremely welcoming and friendly.
If I had the choice, I’d never train anywhere or with anybody else.

I have just completed an 8 week programme @ ROAR and can tell you it works! It's not easy and takes 100% commitment but the results are clear. Special thanks to my trainer Matt Lindsay and my nutritionist Alex Smith who were both very knowledgeable but made the process fun and enjoyable. I can honestly say that signing up with Roar has been one of the best decisions I have made. I joined Roar to get in shape for my wedding. I am still with Roar 8 months later because I love it so much - specifically my trainer Jack and nutritionist Matt.
I had been going to various gym classes, trying to run and had a personal trainer but had hit a plateau and needed help. I could not have hoped for better results.
Jack is amazing - he is an exceptional trainer. Always positive, always pushing you to do more and get those extra reps, always incredibly conscious of technique and gently correcting me when I get tired or lazy, always fun, funny and never gives up on you. Jack really listens and was always able to adapt exercises when needed due to injury. I trained three times a week and Jack's plan was always varied and felt bespoke to me. You are in a team with Jack, he has your back and is totally dedicated to making sure you get the best results. He has changed my body shape and I although I often want to be sick or feel like I want to give up during a set I look forward to training with him and having a proper laugh.
Matt has been incredible as my nutritionist. He has gone above and beyond for me: at the end of emails when I have questions, super supportive and creating food plans that have truly worked. He is very empathetic, takes everything in to account and is so supportive and encouraging.

The past four months have been more challenging, rewarding and motivating than I could ever have expected. Roar is a truly awesome gym and I genuinely look forward to my sessions each week. I’ve been training with Nicolle and have had nutrition coaching from Matt and my progress has totally surpassed my expectations. Nicolle is a great PT, every session is challenging but she is hugely encouraging and we have a good laugh too (very important when some weeks you’re spending more time with your PT than your friends!!). Matt is helping me to change my relationship with food and it is amazing to see my body positively responding to the changes I’m making. Ok, I came to a conclusion in January this year I needed to do something about my ever spiralling weight!
I signed up with ROAR after a bit of research on transformation programmes (having followed on insta a for a while).
I was a complete novice to not only the gym but weight lifting and eating healthy!
The programme was built around this while also taking into consideration my injured back. I won’t lie the initial few weeks are tough, but if you stick to the programme, the results are brilliant. I have completed the initial 12 week period and continued for an additional 12 weeks.
My life has radically changed, I have personally been transformed and have discovered a passion for nutrition, weight lifting and keeping fit. The knowledge I have acquired during this process I think will always be with me.....I will never get back to the way I was!
The staff, programme and facilities are all brilliant – you may think something like this could be intimidating, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. You are always greeted with a smile from the receptionist to the owners!
My trainer was Tom, who is a diligent, friendly, hardworking and focused individual. Your performance and wellbeing are always at the forefront of his mind. He provides support when needed and likewise will push you when needed! His genuine passion for the process is brilliant to see aside from that he’s also a nice dude!
From a nutritional perspective, Luke looked after me. His voice of reason (as well as discipline!) has been great and always has the time to talk through any issues and happily answers any questions …even my ridiculous ones!
In summary, my life has changed, and without the passion and support from everyone at ROAR, it wouldn’t have been possible.

I’ve been lucky enough to have Victoria Norris as my trainer for the last two months, and I genuinely look forward to every session. Victoria is incredibly positive, supportive and full of energy, motivating me to get that extra rep and to lift heavier than I thought I could. On the nutrition side, Matt has been brilliant, somehow managing to break some terrible habits and encouraging me to keep going.

Absolutely the best decision I've ever made with regards to my positive mental health, being transformed and being in an environment that just works brilliantly. To say I was slightly apprehensive would be a massive understatement. For over 10 years I had continually made a promise to myself, that I would get back in shape, healthy and fit! it just never happened and everything else was a priority and I had tried many different options. This is a friendly but serious environment, they work you hard and that's absolutely fine by me. I'm coming up to the end of my 12 week programme. I've been training with Victoria who is an amazing trainer. She will always tweak your positioning to ensure you're getting the most out of your workouts. She has pushed me to get in those reps that I didn't think was possible. She will change exercises to ensure I'm working out the correct muscles. I have honestly seen such big changes in my body and energy since I've been training with Victoria.
My nutrition plans have been controlled by Matt who is incredible. He's always positive and motivating and has helped me reach my goals. The nutrition plans have many options which help keep you fulfilled and full. Matt will create a nutrition plan to cater to your lifestyle and needs.
Overall the whole experience has been tough but has been completely worth it. I have loved my experience at roar so much that I have booked in another 12 weeks of sessions!

I have been training remotely with Luke Grahame for 12 weeks. He has been absolutely fantastic. He has been completely positive, helped me gain muscle mass, address my nutrition and really see the benefits of weights. He has been amazing at setting goals for me which have been right at the edge of what I can do, whilst still being acheivable. His professionalism and depth of knowledge is awesome and he has always been willing to give time to address whatever issues I've had with either nutrition or technique or minor aches and pains. I love the way he has emphasised form (quality) over quantity - it's given me a great foundation to keep working from.

I just finished my 12 week body transformation with Hym and it was absolutely fantastic. He is a great trainer who really understood how I can work and how to push me further. And Roar really worked for me because it does not just train you and make you diet, it changes your entire approach to working out and to nutrition, and teaches you how to keep the good results going. I can honestly say that I've never been more motivated for the gym than with Roar but also now since I have started going to the gym by myself again. Would highly recommend it.

I completed the 8 week course at Roar recently. The training with Lucie was great (and is the only reason I can give them 3 stars) and it helps you build confidence in the weights section in the gym. However, that is not all you pay for with Roar and I have to say as a vegetarian I was very disappointed with the nutritional side of things.
As a veggie/vegan, I would not recommend this diet and some of the key reasons are set out below.
1. There is not enough choice.
Although there are a few vegan and veggie options for breakfast, the options for lunch and dinner are limited and frankly, fairly lazy options with most of them being based on mock meat. I think there is a fundamental lack of understanding of veggie and vegan diets if the alternatives are always mock meat dishes - this doesn't really cater to veggies or vegans that don't like meat(!)
2. Its not healthy
As a meat eater, perhaps cutting out all grains, pulses and beans and dairy is do able because there are other options to consuming protein. However as a veggie/vegan this seriously limits your choices for high protein foods and the same blanket rules for meat eaters should not apply to those with restricted diets. Most veggie/vegan athletes consume a healthy amount of these things so the science behind cutting them out is highly questionable (in addition no food intolerance test is carried out to make sure this is actually necessary). It means as a veggie you end up relying solely on eggs, cottage cheese and tofu or as a vegan you have to eat highly processed mock meat. When it gets to the point that you are eating a minimum of 14 eggs a week - this is just not natural or healthy or sustainable which means that this is only a short term quick fix. I did ask to eat purely egg whites as I had concerns over cholestrol but was told not to. I'm also not comfortable living off huge amounts of tofu given the small link to breast cancer (which runs in the family ). I understand that the only reason that pulses/beans/dairy is cut out is to stop the possibility of bloating - so its for aesthetic reasons which doesn't seem good enough of a reason to compromise on health (even if its for a short period of time). Veggie and vegan diets are meant to be clean, natural diets - this just doesn't embrace that which leads me to the next point.
3. Lack of understanding
There seems to be a lack of research into veggie/vegan diets and alternatives. I also don't think the nutritionists are qualified dieticians or that any qualified dietician has been consulted. For the money you pay surely you expect this?
For example, instead of strictly cutting out all dairy (and there is a big difference between consuming milk and yoghurt, but this isn't considered) what about considering alternatives like kefir yoghurt etc. The coconut collaborate alternatives are actually high in saturated fat which is not healthy at all and which seems to defeat the purpose of trying to switch all your cooking oils to coconut oil or butter etc.
In addition, coconut oil and butter are only healthy when cooked in high heat dishes - which not all of the dishes are.
There are also hardly any vegetables in the recipes(?!). Where is the actual nutrition for veggies and vegans?!
In summary, I do think that a lot more consideration needs to be given to health and that veggies and vegans can't be treated like "pretend" meat eaters. Its a real shame as I expected a lot more understanding and a more personalised service on the nutrition front. But it is a bit of a one size fits all approach which is not what you pay for when you dish out over £3k.
For the reasons set out above I lost interest in the nutritional side of things (it has not been given near enough thought for veggies and vegans). I lost about 3% body fat with Roar but having left, I have lost at the same rate making my own changes to my diet. It feels slower, but its also more sustainable which means its better in the long run.

Having just finished my last few sessions of the 12 week program, I can say without a doubt that this experience was worth it. I trained with Tom, and received nutritional information from Josh. Both of whom were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me for the last few months.
Tom has been absolutely incredible to work with. He’s always positive, and is great at motivating you to push yourself to achieve more than what you thought you ever could. He’s also very informative which allows you to better understand which muscle groups are working, and how best to preform a certain action.
From the beginning Josh gave me all the information I would need to start a new diet, live a healthier lifestyle, and answer any questions I had. He was extremely encouraging throughout the weeks, which continued to motivated me further, and stay strict on my diet plan. Moreover, Josh continually tailored and adjusted the nutritional side of the program to my personal needs, which really made such a big difference.
Overall, I feel more confident in not only myself but my knowledge of the gym. It’s an extremely well rounded program, and I highly recommend working with Tom and Josh. I can’t thank them and everyone at Roar enough for all they have done for me.

Second time using Roar - first was disrupted due to holidays and an operation yet was still a success from 35 sessions over 6 months ( should have been 3 months).
18 months later went back in the same shape I left (it is sustainable) and I’ve seen immediate and further gains (weight down, muscle increase - ticking both boxes) after just 12 sessions (4 weeks).

I’m not one to exaggerate but Roar has truly changed my life as well as my body! My 20-week time here saw me lose over 15kg and built my confidence and ability to exercise and use weights... I’ve always felt intimidated and overwhelmed using gyms before, but Roar is an inclusive and supportive place and if they can get me into dead lifts, presses and more, they can do anything! Massive respect to my trainer Matt who has made me laugh, sweat, sob and shout on occasion, but he has the patience of a saint and he really knows his stuff and as a result has made my body completely change! Josh in charge of my nutrition has also worked wonders and has made altering my diet fun and fascinating and I barely got hungry! Yes, it’s a commitment in terms of time and money, but god it’s worth it. In my early forties, my body is the best it’s ever been and I love the way training here makes me feel. It’s such a mental boost and that’s why I’m staying on to see if I can continue the good work. I wish I’d done it years ago to be honest... I thoroughly recommend it!

I signed up toan 8 week program with Roar 6 weeks ago as I wanted to kickstart my year off work with getting fit, losing weight, and building a good set of habits after many years of not eating well & being inactive. In those 6 weeks, I've dropped over 12kg, a size in clothing, and feel the fittest I ever remember being (and close to my lowest ever weight!). I've achieved weight strengths that friends who have been lifting for years have got to, and have had a lot of fun doing it. It's been an amazing experience from the people that were involved to all the facilities and instruction.
I didn't struggle with the food beyond the first couple of days of adjustment, and was pushed at the right pace and with the right force through the weight training within the gym. Luke, my trainer, hasn't let me stopped below my physical limits within the gym and Alex Smith on nutrition has gone out of his way in between our nutrition checkups to check on how things are going. I finished my 12 week Roar transformation a few weeks ago. From the second I walked into Roar and throughout the transformation, it was five-star professionalism all the way.
My initial consolation with Sarah was informative, friendly and she totally managed my expectations. Roar was a tough journey (if you face the challenge in a dedicated way), but when you start to see results, it spurs you to continue.
My trainer Laura was simply fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. She made my workouts really enjoyable, yet pushed me to the limit, and believed in me even when I thought I could never do it. She was understanding, caring, yet tough; an almost impossible balance to possess. I miss our sessions!
Matt, my nutritionist always made time for me, and found solutions when I was hitting a plateau or just needed more food variety. He clearly explained not just what I had to do, but why. The context was important, as it gave me the know-how to plan my own meals and maintain my body post-Roar.
Having finished my transformation I feel a massive sense of achievement, a new found body-confidence, as well as gym-floor confidence.

It's hard to put the amazing last 12 weeks into words but joining Roar and training with Jack is probably the highlight of 2020. I've learnt loads (specially around form and tempo), and progressed both physically and mentally to the point I really like lifting weights and going to the gym after years of lacking motivation.
Aside from being an exceptional PT (always pushing my limits to lift more and better), Jack is an amazing guy to be around, he's considerate, funny, and by the end it really felt like I was training with a friend. I'm really going to miss our sessions together (and our bespoke Spanish lessons).
Also shoutout to Matt and his amazingly designed nutrition program, due to my physique I always struggled to gain weight and muscle but following his advice I managed to build up to 1 stone.

My experience at Roar Fitness has been fantastic. I have been lucky enough to train with Pierce who is incredibly knowledgeable and with his support and encouragement, I have been able to see strength gains which I wouldn't have thought possible. Pierce is very professional and friendly which makes every session enjoyable. Sarah's nutritional advice has also been very valuable and the regular catch ups have ensured that I have made good progress with my overall goals. I have been training at ROAR for the last 10 weeks and I can honestly say it’s the most I have enjoyed any gym-based experience for decades. The gym environment is completely non-intimidating, and my trainer, Nicolle, has been incredible. Professional, supportive, motivating but also really fun to work with, she explains everything fully in order to help me understand what each exercise is helping to achieve whilst also devising a program that means I can now lift heavier than I ever thought possible. Truly thankful for my experience with Roar Fitness - especially my trainer Jack, and my nutritionist Matt. Initially went in for a consultation, which was just an informal chat looking at where I felt I was currently, my experience with fitness, and what I was looking to achieve. Talking to Rich really helped me to make my decision to join Roar - it was clear he knew what he was talking, but also he listened to what I was looking for and found me the perfect trainer who I could gel with - Jack.
I was booked in for an assessment with another professional, in which I went through my history of injuries, and then completed a range of movements to test my mobility and function - simple enough.
I got started with Jack soon after, and we hit it off immediately. Initially Jack had me hit the ground running with a full-body regime working so he could assess where I was at, and so that he could help me to really nail the form. After a year out from training, it was difficult but at the same time exciting to get back into it. I was training 3 times a week, and we had a laugh throughout sessions, and then Jack would get me focussed again on the work, and we got a lot done in each session. He encouraged me to lift heavier and to always get in those last few reps - and knowing that he was there to help out, meant I could go all out. He adapted the workout when I got injured, and gave me tips around alleviating the pain etc. He identified the movements that didn't work well for me and suggested other movements which would be better suited. And he helped me to get to the strongest I've ever been, lifting a whole lot more weight and volume than I ever have previously! Top man!
Every couple of weeks I would have a check-in with Matt, who was able to provide the nutritional expertise to supplement the work in the gym. He adapted the nutrition to my plant-based lifestyle, whilst ensuring that I got the correct macros and micronutrients. Matt was supportive throughout and made time to answer any questions I had. He was always asking about my progress, and requested feedback in terms of what worked, and more importantly what didn't, so that he could further refine the support he provides.
Together both Matt and Jack (and the rest of the lovely team) have made my time at Roar an invaluable experience, where I have learnt so much, progressed physically and mentally, and found a whole new level. At the end of the day, I knew I could rely on them, and I knew I had to ensure I put in the time and effort to make my goals a reality.

She has consistently been there at 6:30am with me each morning, full of energy and ready to push me to achieve my best! Yordan my trainer was incredible, the ideal mix of tough training and motivation alongside practical advice and support to get me through. What you need in a PT is someone who is honest, and that pushes you in a manner that empowers you and constantly scrutinises your form, giving you hints as to how to get the best out of your sessions. Tom is all of that and more. You may think you know what you are doing and then someone tweaks your technique and suddenly the weights are moving up rapidly and you are training in a completely different way on the same exercises! The nutrition with Matt is spot on. Don’t question it because it works ... you may sit there saying I can’t finish this plate but you do and you not only see results you feel ready to train. I was barely able to lift weights and also slightly intimidated by them but under the supervision of my brilliant and professional PT, Tom, my confidence grew. He's a star! Training at Roar has hands down been one of the best things I have ever done. My trainer Tom was absolutely fantastic - super knowledgeable and I learned so much during my 12 weeks. He knew when to push me but also when I was having a bit of an off day and just needed a bit of encouragement. Matt looked after my nutrition and was also amazing. I was worried being almost completely plant based would be an issue but he always made it work. I have learned so much about nutrition and he has completely changed my attitude towards food.
I enjoyed my time at Roar so much I signed up to continue training once a week with Tom and can't imagine our sessions not being part of my week. If you're on the fence about whether or not to sign up, just do it - you won't regret it!

One of the best decisions I made was to sign up for Roar. I spent 3 months with Marion Reguera training me and Matt telling me what to eat and I lost 12kg and now feel that I can walk into a gym on my own and know what I'm doing. I'd never considered lifting before outside of the occasional body pump class, but now I'm going to carry on with it. They're all really friendly and enthusiastic at Roar and its a great atmosphere. My only small criticism is that they need a bigger place with more equipment to avoid having to wait to use some machines.

I had Nicolle as a training manager during 12 weeks and she was amazing ! Very kind and very professional, she took time to explain the exercises to me and to correct me, plus she was always pushing me to do more, increasing weights as soon as she saw it was too easy. A week after completing my initial 12 week phase and the results are spectacular, so much so that I have signed up for another 8 weeks! I feel more confident, I have lost weight and my body has started to become toned and defined.
I was so apprehensive about this level of training as I have never been a 'gym' kinda person and I had never really lifted weights before. I decided to just go for it and nervous me walked into their private personal training facility and I have never looked back. I was greeted by smiling happy people and felt welcomed and at ease straight away. I met my trainer - Jack, and we just clicked straight away. It's been an amazing mix of laughter, sweat and the occasional happy tears!
Jack has pushed me hard, listened, taught me the correct techniques and most importantly helped me shape my body, achieving results that in the past I thought were never achievable. As a first timer to training I am so happy to be paired with Jack, he is so understanding and helpful, especially how he patiently corrects my posture or techniques without ever sounding condescending or like he has told me 100 times before.
Not forgetting the invaluable nutritional advice from Josh, I have been able to easily adapt my lifestyle to suit the training programme and not feel like I was ever on a ‘diet’ or ‘meal plan’. He enabled me to have all the recipes and information on hand to help me achieve my goals.
Here's to the next 8 weeks and hopefully making it to the infamous wall of results!

As a total beginner, I had no idea what I was in for… With SASKIA support and her bubbly way to teach, I am really enjoying my journey so far and seeing progress.
SASKIA is very patient and she always manage to get me through each session with a smile on my face despite a sore body. She push me to achieve above and beyond.
Every session is challenging as I hate exercising. Also not making it easy for her as I travel quite a lot. But SASKIA is able to adapt the program to my need and has given me a huge confidence and energy boost to help me venture out of my comfort zone and ensuring results.

I signed up for a 12-week course with Roar when I retired at 65. I was assured by Roar that if I strictly followed the diet assigned by Josh the nutritionist and completed at least three guided workouts a week, I would see significant improvements in my body shape and strength.
Ethan, my assigned trainer gave me lots of advice, encouragement and systematically charted my progress. As with all fitness training you get out what you put in. The Roar team ensure that you do make that crucial effort through their enthusiastic, targeted, professional approach. After three months I was significantly fitter, measurably stronger and in a much better equipped to live a healthy ‘Third Age’.

In a nutshell: The team at Roar is amazing and I loved training with my outstanding PT Nicolle so much, I signed up for another 12 weeks!
The longer version:
With a ballooning waistline, signing up to Roar was a drastic turn intended to, if not right the ship, then at least stop the hurtling towards the edge. And it really was drastic as I had never done any weight training. In fact, I had avoided the gym like the plague in the last decade and as a result I had never been so out of shape.
I approached this with a heap of body image issues, more than a little trepidation and a raised eyebrow for anyone who said they truly loved going to the gym. PT Nicolle really had her work cut out for her but took it all in her stride. She is the kindest, most patient trainer I could have hoped for, pushing me further than I ever expected possible. Nicolle is not just motivating and amazingly effective as a PT, she leaves you walking out of the gym feeling like a champion, even if an exhausted one.
In the 12 weeks I worked with her, I saw a real transformation not just physically, but in my whole outlook on life. The latter is a testament to the insightful conversations into which she had somehow turned my distracting chatter.
Nutritionist Matt was an understanding cheerleader for change and the whole team at Roar is there for you. “Ready to kill it today?” is something I heard on a regular basis.
This supportive environment extends to the changing rooms where being part of a demanding gym programme fosters camaraderie. I have never gone a week without overhearing compliments like "It looks so easy when you do that!" or "I don't know how you do that weight; it looks so impressive!" flying around.
Just one good training session at Roar can turn around a rubbish week.

James Castle-Mason is my PT, he has been excellent his professionalism and wealth of knowledge regards weight training and human anatomy have been second to none. He has safely guided me through all the training sessions without any issues even though I have had a history of back problems. I’d recommend him to anyone.
Josh Faux looks after my nutrition and I’d equally recommend him too he totally understands your goals and is quick to give good advice when you are finding the diet tough.
ROAR is a great place to train and all staff are really friendly. It’s hard work and you need to be disciplined when following the diet but the results up to now have been worth it!

I joined Roar in January with 6 months to get ready for my wedding. I bought the 12 week programme and enjoyed it (and the results) so much I signed up for a further 12 weeks. As others have said it is hard work, but the results are so worth it. I am lucky enough to be trained by the wonderful Ethan Kenny who has kept me on track and helped me achieve results I could not have thought possible when I started. The only downside being the amount of additional costs in getting my wedding dress altered repeatedly due to continuous fat loss :)
Ethan is brilliant at knowing how far he can push you so that he challenges you but so you have complete confidence that you can do what he is asking without hurting yourself. He is also great fun to spend time with and makes the early morning starts a little easier. The knowledge of everyone here is great and for someone who finds gyms intimidating generally you could not find a more friendly and supportive place. It also helps that they clearly practice what they preach and Ethan is a great example of this. His work ethic and commitment to helping clients achieve their goals is clear, he was very supportive of me when I was travelling and always has tips and tricks to help. I was pretty nervous to begin but Alex made sure I was always pushing myself in the right direction and meeting my goals each week. We often laugh about how I couldn't even lift the dead weight bar at the beginning of the programme and how much stronger and fitter I was by the end of the 12 weeks. She also never complained about having to train me at 6.30am every other morning which was a massive ask! I just completed a 12-week program with Roar and it certainly delivered on its promise! Roar provides the most thorough and well-rounded exercise and nutrition program out. If you follow what they say, you will get results. Alex was a terrific trainer. He is not the shouting/commando-type but has the ability to get you to reach from within and push yourself – a truly invaluable quality in a trainer. He was focused, easy going and provided the perfect balance of flexibility and guidance - not to mention the good chat and friendly banter in between sets which added some fun and made the one hour sessions fly by (also helped with pushing through the pain!). Luke was also equally dedicated to the cause handling my nutrition plan. He provided clear guidance, adjusted the plan as I progress through the program and most importantly kept me accountable. I was in very good hands with these two and look forward to tackling another 12-week program.

I did a course of 35 training sessions with James Castle-Mason at ROAR fitness. James was excellent - extremely knowledgeable, pushed me right to my limits, and a nice guy who is fun to train with.
I went from around 77kg when I started to around 72kg when I finished, so I dropped a total of 5kg which I was very happy with. More importantly I lost a lot of body fat, dropped from a 36 inch waist to a 32 inch waist, am visibly bigger and feel very strong.
Josh Faux was my nutrition advisor, which is a critical part of the equation. He really helped me to focus on what I was eating, and over the course of the training we reduced my calorie intake gradually, which helped make it not too painful. Josh was also excellent, a nice guy and knew his stuff.
The facilities at ROAR are great, and all the personal trainers are very friendly. Even when it was at its busiest, you never had to wait more than a minute or so to use any of the equipment as everyone is very considerate.
I would recommend ROAR to everyone who wants to get in shape. It is not cheap, but for me it was worth every penny as I look much better and feel so much better about myself.

I just finished my 12-week course with Jack Pressling at Roar Fitness and I can say that for the first time in my life i can see a big difference. Jack not only knew exactly what to work on, when to push hard & when to easy off but he made the entire 3-month experience a very pleasant one, always smiling and motivating me to do a little bit better each session. We did a special program for my triathlon preparation and it definitely help me tremendously during the race. I also worked with Josh Faux on my nutrition, who was excellent and able to guide me in the right direction on diet dos and don'ts. I'm looking forward to my next course with Jack in the fall. Currently halfway through my programme I never thought I would get addicted to the gym and that’s thanks to training with Alex. Such a top guy, I felt comfortable straight away and he keeps you motivated for the whole session. I never thought I would be lifting the weights I’m currently lifting as never had the confidence but Alex changed that and I feel myself getting stronger each week. I have always worried about bulking up weight training but I’m trusting the process and seeing some results. ROAR's protein shakes bring all the boys and girls to the gym! Not quite true.... but they certainly all leave the gym with one, plus the benefits of a life changing experience led by some of the best in the business. The friendly and highly experienced staff certainly do keep all the boys and girls going to the gym though. I started with a 12 week package, and am still regularly attending months later.
The lovely beefcake that is Alex Smith ensures I “work it” to the max each session, lifting weights I never thought possible, and ensuring much fun is also being had. Having a sound knowledge in nutrition already, I find my assessment sessions with the incredibly supportive and inspirational Sarah Lindsay (that bod...!) a great way of being accountable and implementing new dietary approaches. Sarah's pep talks have given me the confidence to challenge myself beyond what I ever thought was possible. I’ve basically been on to a winner from the start. It is extremely rewarding to know you’ve been challenged like this during each session and watch your body transform week on week. The 1:1 set up and variety of equipment ensures a range of techniques are used to produce a bespoke plan to meet my personal goals and abilities.
My ROAR experience has been the best thing I've ever done in my fitness journey so far. FACT. I went to ROAR for structure, accountability and support, I got that and a whole lot more.

I never thought I could enjoy weight training, or generally personal training, as much as I have and I feel so lucky that my experience has been with Laura, who has made it such fun! She keeps our sessions interesting, mixes things up so I don’t know what’s coming and is so easy to talk to that the hour flies by.
Laura’s patient, kind and motivational style suits me perfectly and she always encourages me to push that little bit harder to reach the next level. She has made my commute across London and my three trips per week to Roar something I look forward to and if I could keep training with her, I would in a heartbeat!

I've just finished a 12 week programme at Roar and I've found the experience absolutely transformational - both physically and mentally. After several years of no exercise due to a busy schedule and an aversion of smelly, sweaty gyms, I joined Roar. The gym is clean, friendly and has a supportive atmosphere - I genuinely looked forwards to every one of my sessions. I trained with James who was amazing ensuring that my lifting technique was correct from the start and encouraged me in every single session, keeping count of the reps and kept me laughing in between! Since then, thanks to the brilliant support of my trainer, Yordan, and helpful nutrition advice from Matt, I've done my personal best in the marathon and half marathon and I feel fitter and stronger than ever. I have to admit, that I was quite sceptical going into this program with an online trainer. In the past I've had the best results when I've had a PT right in front of me pushing me to my limit. However, having worked with Luke has been an absolute pleasure. Having the weekly check-ins have been such a great support to have, and receiving a new workout plan on a monthly basis has made working out really motivational and inspiring. The quality of the program is incredibly high and efficient, with easy-simple workouts that you feel safe doing alone, but with great results. He has also been incredibly understanding and respectful of things in my private life, that may have altered my motivation to work out or eat healthily - however, having his understanding and never ending support further inspired me to continue my workout journey. I am very happy to say I have signed on for 12 new weeks and am very excited to continue working with Luke!

I have just finished my 12 week program with the marvellous Tom and have achieved even better results than I was expecting! Tom has been incredibly patient, is always encouraging, explains the technique and makes sure I get it right (something I really value) and pushes me to my limits (and beyond!). I have never done a purely weights-based training program before and have found it much more enjoyable than any other exercise program or PT session I have previously done. Apart from the physical results, the mental break it provides has been a key incentive for me to renew for another 12 weeks.
Big shout out also Matt who has been great on the nutrition front. He listens and works with you on any issues and is always positive and encouraging (but at the same time completely honest and realistic which I appreciate).

Joyous atmosphere of support and hard work, the friendliest gym I've ever been to even though the exercising itself is brutally hard. Ridiculously talented and fit team who genuinely care about their clients' progression. I worked with Hym as my PT who was brilliant at customising exercises when needed, pushed me beyond my perceived limits, and was utterly fantastic at correcting form and showing all the exercises so that I did everything correctly. He is a professional of the highest standard. Matt's food plan was sustainable and manageable, and his support was invaluable in weaning me off my bad food habits. Highly recommend!

I joined Roar during the summer, signing up to the online programme as I'm Dubai based. Since moving to the UAE the pounds were slowly creeping on. After thinking about Roar for 6 months, I finally took the plunge and signed up in July.

I was lucky to be paired with Ethan as a trainer who has been a brilliant coach with an excellent balance of getting you to work hard whilst providing encouragement and support, always explaining everything very clearly and with a great sense of humour. Under his tutorage I have gained the tools and confidence to go to the weights section in a gym without feeling lost or intimidated- the focus on technique and tempo at Roar is superb (also reinforced by Yordan who seamlessly covered a training session while Ethan was on holiday).
During my time at Roar I also had tailored nutritional advice from Josh who was great at understanding and working with my lifestyle, work patterns and personal training aims. These nutrition principles and planning have reinforced healthy, long lasting habits.

I hit the jackpot when I signed up to Roar and was allocated Matt for both my training and nutrition.
When I started my 12 week transformation programme in January, despite being outwardly confident, it wasn’t how I was truly feeling on the inside. 10 weeks in and I’m feeling far better about myself than I ever have done before. Not only is Matt highly knowledgeable and supportive as a trainer, his passion for getting you the results that you want is really clear to see. He genuinely cares. Every session he brings the same positive and motivating attitude that make training with him an absolute pleasure. He has instilled me with the self-belief that I’ll be able to lift the weights and, when I feel l like I can’t do another rep, his encouragement spurs me on. I haven’t had a session yet where he hasn’t made me chuckle in between reps – whether it’s his singing and dancing along to Britney or discussing his questionable sock choices…. He ensures that I always leave the gym happy and buzzing.
On the nutrition front, Matt has provided clear guidance and support to ensure that my eating habits change for the better. He spends a lot of time going through my plan with me to make sure that I understand it and answers every silly question that I may have. It’s invaluable education that I will have for life.
I must also give a shout out to a few of the other people that make Roar the incredible personal training facility that it is…. Thank you to Abbie for being so welcoming and making you feel comfortable from day one. It’s not an overstatement to say that Roar, specifically Tom and Josh, have changed my life! When I first walked into Roar, I was absolutely terrified- but all the staff are so friendly and so dedicated to helping you achieve your goals that it’s impossible not to feel at ease.
Tom has been a superstar- I am not a natural gym goer, but I have loved working with him and have been so surprised at what I am actually capable of with his meticulous instruction and tailored programme. Tom is always so motivated and has encouraged me to push myself way beyond my expectations. He has the patience of a saint and I genuinely cannot imagine how I could have done this without him, or ever having a different trainer now. On the nutrition front, Josh has completely overhauled how I think about food. He has been so kind and supportive throughout the process and again, I couldn’t have stuck to this without his regular check ins and encouragement.

Everyone has personal fitness goals, no matter whether it’s gaining strength, weight loss or having a lifestyle change. Mine? To kick hyper-mobility in the ass. Joining Roar Fitness wasn’t a decision I took lightly, until I had an induction with Sarah and instantly knew it was something I needed to invest in.
I have been incredibly lucky and struck gold having trained with Adam (AKA The A Team) for the last 6 months where he has thoughtfully tailored each session to my capabilities, needs and goals whilst providing a wealth of knowledge, drive and constant support throughout each week. His continuous encouragement and enthusiasm have allowed me to build strength in places I never knew muscles existed, and lift weights I didn’t think my joints could ever take.
Besides the physical training, Adam is the true definition of dedicated and goes above and beyond to see you succeed. Not only does he make each session enjoyable, but he genuinely cares for your progress, just as much as you. From day one, my goals have been his goals and he has without a doubt, believed in me more than I ever did - I say a negative, Adam will inevitabley fire back a positive! He has taught me the importance of consistency and progression in my training and how to ingrain fitness into my lifestyle in a comfortable and non-evasive way.
This is what set Roar apart from other gyms; it eliminates all the intimidating aspects of weight training and is so much more than just 3 gym sessions a week. The trainers are an incredibly talented, passionate bunch who push you to limits you never thought you’d reach. You don’t think you can do something, but they have a way of proving you wrong!

My experience with Roar has been nothing but the most dedicated, professional team of trainers leading the field. My trainer Alex has helped me achieve my goals through motivation and hard work combined though a robust diet plan. Many other gyms will offer the diet plan or either the PT sessions. What makes Roar difference is that the nutrition and on hand guidance and advice is the guaranteed formula for you to succeed. They really are the best out there and Sarah and her team are second to none.

I was looking for a fully supported, kick up the ‘exercise’ backside, no holds barred, push me to the extreme experience, and Roar Fitness did not disappoint! Luke at Kinetic Health (based within Roar) assessed me for injuries before I started and throughout my training he worked with Jack suggesting additional exercises and variations on a theme to achieve my goals safely. Jack my PT took me under his wing and was great to work with. He took me to the edge and back again more times than I can count, and in so doing helped me lose three dress sizes in 12 weeks….all with a smile and a joke that kept me motivated and looking forward to our sessions. Jack enthusiastically helped me build my confidence in the gym, which I take with me going forward and together with Matt my nutritionist helped me completely overhaul my diet, a long overdue challenge. I shall miss my weekly sessions at Roar, but will be back for more I am sure. It was so much fun and just a little bit addictive!

I have just finished an 8 week programme at Roar with the exceptional Nicolle as my trainer and the brilliant Josh on the nutrition side. It has been a fantastic positive experience with great results even in a short timeframe. I loved my regular visits to the gym with such support and encouragement and even though the sessions are hard I looked forward to each one knowing that I was on a path to great results - i lost a stone in just under 8 weeks. I can't praise Nicolle enough, she was brilliant, so positive and very quickly worked out how to get the best out of me and push me to my limits. Josh was equally awesome, always so supportive and I learned so much working with him. Between them I achieved results I didn't think possible and its been a hugely positive life changing experience. I started at Roar in August 2017 after being out of the gym for 12 months with an injury. After research, I found Roar could be the place for me. I met Sarah who was so positive and started training with Pierce 3 times a week 6am and seeing Josh for nutrition every 3 weeks .... here I am nearly a year later with no intention of giving up my slot with Pierce! Amazing team of professionals, great facilities, warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was lucky to come across Roar Fitness when I was desperate and convinced that nothing would help me to get back into shape after trying so may different things, failing and getting more and more disappointed. Sarah's honest, patient and friendly way of communication and wealth of experience lead me to give the 12-week fat loss program a go! So happy I did: I lost 13 kg, feel energized, strong and confident. This program, while not cheap, is worth every penny and is one of the best investments I have made. It does not stop after 12 weeks, it teaches you key principles of smart food choices and approach to workout that you can apply going forward - and this alone is priceless. Nutrition plan was very clear, versatile and gave a lot of clean but delicious options to not get bored. It is not easy as you have to let go of old unhealthy eating habits, but it never left me hungry and I soon could see benefits and realize that it can still be delicious (it helps if you cook). I enjoyed my workouts with Melissa: she is professional, friendly, patient and at the same time firm, perfect combination to achieve results! I’d done a bit of training before joining, but had never felt completely comfortable in a gym and I wasn’t achieving the results I wanted. After joining Roar, I was lucky enough to be placed with Kari for my training, and Sarah for nutrition which turned out to be such a dream team.
Kari is the best; she’s always in a good mood and she manages to make each session both challenging and enjoyable. She’s given me such confidence in lifting more than I ever had before and I now can’t imagine training with anyone else! Sarah’s knowledge of nutrition is incredible and the nutrition plan she gave me helped me achieve my weight loss goals whilst never feeling like I was depriving myself. I can't recommend the team here highly enough.
Long story short, I haven’t come across anywhere in London that gives what Roar does. Your programme is tailored to suit your own goals and the space and the people create the environment for you to achieve them. I have just finished my 12 week programme at Roar with Marion Reguera as my trainer but I had also the pleasure of training with Alex Smith and Yordan Stovyanov. All trainers were brilliant and really focused on getting the technique exactly right to build my strength and tone. All trainers were challenging me with the right amount of pressure and humour making it fun to work out again and building the consistent habit that I lost along the way. Josh Faux’s nutrition plan was straight forward and easy to follow. Josh understood what my objectives were and my lifestyle with work / life balance and built the plan around me. The pounds fell off and with the combined diet and training I lost two stone but the number doesn’t matter as I’m in great shape, feel fantastic, have more confidence and got that consistent habit of eating right and exercising again. I absolutely loved training with Nicolle at Roar. She was the perfect trainer - she always had amazing energy whether it was at 6.30am or 7pm. Her energy always lifted me and pushed me in each session. She listened to any feedback about how my body was reacting to certain exercises and would tailor the workout as a result. She was a stickler for form and making sure I was doing things correctly and couldn't get injured. I have joined countless gyms over the years and whilst I start off keen and eager, this enthusiasm quickly diminishes as the weeks go on. I’ve been working with my trainer Mike Carter at Roar for about 5 months so far and this is the first time I’ve really enjoyed training. Mike has kept me motivated week in week out and really cares about my progress. He is constantly pushing me to my limits and as a result I have seen my fitness and strength levels improve consistently since I started. I've lost weight and even more importantly to me, have dropped a dress size. It's also been a great help to check in with one of Roar's nutritionists (mine is Josh Faux) every few weeks to measure my progress and talk about ways of working a healthier diet into every day life. Josh is great and the diet plan he set to kick me off on the journey really worked.
I'd highly recommend Roar to anyone who wants to start personal training. Mike and the team are a great bunch and the programme really works.

I cannot recommend Roar highly enough. I trained with Alex for 12 weeks and saw huge results.
In the past I’ve been dedicated to training and dieting in many ways, but none have come close to the results I’ve got with Roar. Josh was great in setting a nutrition plan, and on the gym floor Alex put me through my paces every time. I regularly leave looking like zombie after an intense session, but it was impossible to argue with the results. I dropped a huge amount of weight and stacked on muscle. I’ve now signed up for another 8 weeks.
Whilst the sessions are hard, it’s made easier with a trainer like Alex. He’s a brilliant PT with exceptional knowledge - ask him a question about how you’re training and he’ll have a very detailed an interesting answer. On top of this, he’s a lovely chap you can have a good conversation with between your gruelling leg press sets! Just a shame he’s a West Ham fan.

I joined Roar Fitness at the beginning of year following a recommendation from a friend. My aim was fairly simple: to increase basic core strength. Little did I know that 16 weeks later, well past my initial 12 week programme, I’d have smashed through my original aim and set my sights on bigger and better things!
The journey would not have been possible without my trainer, Scott Anderson, and nutritionist, Matt Lindsay. Scott has been fantastic at pushing me past what I thought was achievable and encouraging me to set new targets, all the while keeping training sessions light-hearted and fun. Matt has completely converted my views on nutrition. I was initially quite sceptical about the whole process, but followed the plan and could hardly believe the results. Having suffered a significant injury earlier this year I had lost all my confidence when it came to my ability to train and my rehabilitation, with walking even being a struggle at times. When i first came to Roar I was worried that I wouldn’t be able keep up or that the trainers wouldn’t understand the limitations caused by my injury. However, just nine weeks of training with James Castle-Mason has exceeded the 6 months of physiotherapy I had and I’m feeling even stronger than before my accident. Earlier in 2018, I decided I needed to get my A into G and shed some pounds, or if you’re younger than me – kilos.
Fast forward to now and I’ve just finished my 12-week programme at Roar. One of my better decision. I’m fitter, leaner, stronger and more educated, than, I thought I ever would be and that’s very much down to the team at Roar. I also, now understand, that it’s not just about the number on the scales.
Having never done weight training in my life, I was filled with trepidation but my personal trainer, James, who is awesome, made every session, educational, fun and above all, very rewarding. These guys know what they are doing and know when to push you and understand what your body is capable of, way more than you do – they are the experts. I kept surprising myself with what I accomplished each week.
Matt was my nutritional guru, explaining the benefits of healthy eating, what was good and what’s not. My diet has completely changed and I have more energy than I’ve had in years; although, I’ve not been able to convince him that Margaritas should be included in his nutritional plan.
Rich & Sarah have got a great team at Roar and what they give all their clients, is a better understanding of themselves and what we are capable of and for that I have to say a big thank you!

I have been training with James at Roar Fitness for the last 2 months and signing up has been the best decision I could have made. I joined the gym with some prior experience of lifting, but James' knowledge of programming for bodybuilding/fat loss, mechanics and proper form has been incredibly useful and we got my numbers up very quickly across the main lifts where I plateaued before. We're now in a cutting stage which is going very well - really looking forward to final results and will definitely keep working with James beyond the 3 month programme.
Josh who organises my nutrition and measurements is also extremely knowledgeable and always ready to answer questions/give advice. The vibe in the gym is conducive to focusing fully on fitness - hard work & fun. Pictures of transformations on the wall are super inspiring. Overall it's quite a life-changing experience, as prioritising health spilled over to improve other areas of my life like sleeping habits, alcohol consumption, productivity etc. (and spending less money eating out!). I have just finished 24 weeks of training at ROAR and I just can't praise them enough. The environment is so supportive, while at the same time being extremely hard-working and as a consequence it is very inspiring. My trainer, Laura, was so patient with me but never, ever, gave me an easy ride. I worked hard, I was committed, and she gave me the same commitment. She had her work cut out, of course. I can't imagine any trainers get excited about training a 55 year old, menopausal person who has never lifted weights before but she was always supportive and pushed me and never shamed me for not being able to do something immediately. All the trainers are lovely - they get to know you and then they are encouraging you as well. My nutritionist was Matt and he was fantastic. At my last session we laughed like drains. I will miss them. I am transformed. And this is the beginning of my journey, not the end. It wasn't cheap (but why would it be? These people know their stuff!) and it's not easy but my, oh my, I have had one of the best summers of my life. I have exercised for years (other personal trainers, dynamic reformer pilates, hiit on the treadmill) and been thoughtful in my eating from time to time but I have never seen such fantastic results before. Friends at parties rush over to ask what I have been doing to make such a difference . The answer is 12 weeks at Roar Fitness with Hym ( training) and Matt ( nutrition). Matt gave me a nutrition plan that made me lean but did not leave me hungry - mind blown. Hym is the best trainer I have ever had- punctual, charming, always focused on how I am executing each rep, quietly encouraging me to get the most out of every session and I feel such a sense of accomplishment after every one. And being a competitive power lifter and bodybuilder Hym is not only very knowledgable but also knows exactly what it feels like during a transformation.
At my initial consultation I liked Sarah very much. It was inspiring to meet an Olympian. She has not only created two lovely gyms ( Roar 2 is absolutely gorgeous! ) but the atmosphere in both is non judgemental, supportive and happy amongst and between trainers and clients. 😊

I started training at Roar in October 2017, having read a number of reviews and seen the transformations it's something I was keen to start. I started training with Kari 3 times a week and seeing Josh for nutrition every 3-4 weeks. The transformation I've seen in myself has been amazing. Having struggled with my weight and shape for a number of years I've now got to a place where I'm truly happy and comfortable with my shape, this is something that has never happened before! Roar isn't only just about building strength and improving your fitness, it's about changing a mindset too.
I really enjoy training with Kari, she pushes me hard but keeps me so motivated. Kari has a great balance of getting the best out of me but keeping the sessions fun too. Kari has helped me build the confidence to be able to train by myself too and has made me realise how much I can achieve. Sticking at something for a long period of time is something I used to struggle with, but Kari has kept me on track and I'm amazed at my progress.
Josh supported me through the nutrition part, this has been a significant change for me. My diet was something I found tough in the past as I could never find the right balance. I've learnt so much from Josh around how to keep a balanced lifestyle.

The diet is tough and the training was even tougher (shoutout to my PT Hymsuen Liu) I was pushed to my limits, but with the support from Hym, I was taught how to manage and stay on top of my food, in addition to getting stronger/ proper form technique when lifting.
It was extra motivational to have Hym dieting alongside me, he was leading by example and was able to share the experience with me. It is always great to see your trainer practise what they preach!
I have come away with a great experience, knowledge on how to manage my nutrition, good habits and routines that I can hold onto for a life time. Roar Fitness is truly a life changing experience and I cannot recommend them and Hymsuen enough.

ROAR has completely surpassed my expectations. So much so, I’m going into my second 12 week programme. I knew what I wanted to do and what it would take but had never had such an amazing team around me before.
My trainer Alex Smith is the best PT I’ve ever worked with and the results speak for themselves. Not only does he have me laughing my way through our savage 630 am sessions but his outrageous hair is worthy of it’s own 5* Google review and location pin. It should also be mentioned that he is an absolute tank.

I am nearing the end of my 12wk Roar fitness experience with the lovely Laura Ruthnum as my personal trainer. To date it has been an incredible journey. After two babies and little exercise for past few years I have miraculously dropped to pre-baby weight despite having gained muscle. Initially I was apprehensive about weight training but after my very first session I was hooked. Laura was very careful and explained how and why we were doing each exercise, that helped a lot as an incentive as it allowed me to visualise what my body could look like if I put the work in. Laura has been so supportive throughout especially when I have had a lot going on at work. She is full on hardcore but always with a positive and patient attitude which I find is important. She is very intuitive and knows when I have reached my limit and need time to recover. I highly recommend Laura to anyone about to embark on the Roar programme, I can't emphasis enough what a positive impact she has on my experience at Roar. As for the gym itself, it is has a really nice vibe, all the trainers are lovely. I thought it would be more butch, but they're all very supportive and very welcoming. There is no intimidation at all, I think mainly because everyone is there with the same goal. Josh has taken care of my nutrition and has also been very supportive; I still can't quite get my head around how I am dropping weight despite eating more calories pre Roar. I would absolutely recommend signing up with Roar and booking Laura as your PT 100%. I am resigning for another 12wks, for first time in my life I am actually confident that I could get the body I always wanted !!

Linda is absolutely fantastic in every way! Not only did she help me regain my strength but she also helped get me into the right mindset of how to approach training, nutrition and life in general. I had signed up for the 12 week transformation at Roar and after seeing such great results after training with Jack Pressling, I chose to extend for 6 more months. Jack is clearly a knowledgable and experienced trainer who was always happy to explain every exercise and willing to adapt the routines to accommodate my host of injuries. The gym has great facilities and programmes tailored to individuals needs. I signed up for a 12 week programme and have already seen amazing results just after 3.5 weeks. The training is very intense nothing like I have done before but enjoyable as results are seen very quickly . Luke is an amazing trainer. If you decide to train at ROAR I would definitely recommend taking the opportunity to work with him. His attention to detail and awareness of what your body needs means that not only have I become the strongest i've ever been, but I've gained flexibility too. I always left the gym feeling like I'd pushed myself but that was balanced with a sense of taking care of my body to make it healthier, rather than pushing it beyond what it should be doing. This work has improved my technique in other areas like running and yoga too. And essentially - the sessions were enjoyable! I’ve recently spent 8 weeks working with Luke Grahame, achieving revolutionary results.
After coming out of university, I was bored of feeling out of shape, but also tired of constantly feeling I was on a diet whilst failing to achieve results.
Luke’s nutrition strategy helped greatly, throughout my time working with Roar I felt consistently satiated, and my body fat % declined rapidly.
Luke’s workout strategy was also easy to follow and I more than doubled the weight I lifted across a number of core compound exercises during the 8 weeks.

What can I say about Alex Smith???!!!! Well....in my sessions he has made me laugh and nearly cry. Hes politely listened to me when i'm having a whingeing/moaning day and laughed at my jokes even when they weren't funny!!! Love this place. The weights room of any gym can often be overwhelming and intimidating, whether you've never lifted a dumbell before or actually consider yourself more than capable, but it's the atmosphere that sets ROAR apart from anywhere else.
That's not to say you might not feel intimidated when you arrive for your first session - let's be honest, the trainers are BUFF - but they're also incredibly professional, welcoming and friendly, and probably believe in you more than you do yourself. The support goes above and beyond three training sessions per week, and there's definitely an element of wanting to stick to the nutrition plan and give your all during training to impress your trainer and keep them happy! Sarah is a darling (scary too, sure, but in a good way) and I'm excited to see what I can achieve under her guidance over the next nine weeks. Given the option, I wouldn't ever train with anyone else again!

Regardless of your goals, you definitely see results with Alex,my aim initially was to strength my body which I neglected for so long , thinking that only swim bike and run ( triathlon ) training is enough . I also didn’t like going to gym . After 6 months with Alex
I would highly recommend him as a trainer; he's motivating, very knowledgable and knows how to push and motivate you when needed (trust me you can’t negotiate how many reps will you do 😜) , but he is also make sure you are safe and not hurting yourself by overdoing . If you're seeking dramatic body transformation, weight-loss all while having a laugh with the Trainers, Consultants and other members then Roar Fitness is for you. I invested in a 12 week training programme training 3-4 times per week and I'm delighted with the results to date. It's true what they say that training can become healthily addictive and my Roar sessions really helped in re-focusing body and mind and never have I had some much energy and drive for work and play.
If his schedule allows it, then do ask to gym with Hym!
No that's nothing religious but the one and only superhuman PT that is Hymsuen Lui - or Hym to his mates, colleagues and clients.
As a competitive body builder himself he looks intimidating and like a real hard task master but he's a real softie underneath that granite exterior and makes the best Vanilla protein Shake going!
I can't recommend Roar Fitness highly enough and their ongoing success and growth is testament to their terrific team.
You'll laugh, you'll sweat and to start with might even cry - but all the while pushing yourself to your own limits in the safe knowledge you're surrounded by fitness, nutrition and physio experts.

I'm closing out my last week of the 12 week programme and I am so glad I made the decision to embark on it.
12 weeks ago I had never tried personal training before and having been lucky enough to train with Victoria, I have just decided to continue on with her. She has made weight training - something that I always felt intimidated by - something I look forward to and finally feel confident to try on my own as well. She is always brimming with energy and gives me her undivided attention at every session, adjusting training plans to work around my bad shoulder and ensure I am pushing myself fully without ever risking injury. She is meticulous about correct form and manages to get more out of me than I knew I had to give!
I also had nutrition consultations with Matt who is full of knowledge and enthusiasm - you can see he loves what he does and he was always mindful of me having food to eat that I enjoyed within the wider principles of the nutrition programme he designed for me. For the first few weeks I felt like I had more food to each that I could manage which wasn't what I was expecting.
I am really happy with the changes in my body and feel so much better for having done it.

I’ve been training at Roar for the past few months and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. You definitely get out what you put in, and assuming you stick to the nutritional plan you will see results. My trainer is Alex who is a pleasure to train with. My experience at Roar has been fantastic. It’s amazing what you can achieve in 12 weeks with the right professional help. I was trained by Hymsuen Liu who made the process so enjoyable. Hym is really top of his game as a PT, I was so impressed by his knowledge and how tailored the sessions were to me. He quickly understood what I wanted from the plan and how to get the best out of me - far from the fierce shouting PT I had feared. My nutritionist was Josh who was so encouraging and again gave me such tailored advice. Just finished a 16 week programme at Roar with Luke Grahame taking care of my training and Josh Faux on the nutrition. I must say the whole experience has exceeded my expectation in every area. I’d put on a lot of weight in a short space of time and training at Roar was exactly what I needed to get back in to shape. Luke was so knowledgeable in the gym and always got me performing to my best, motivating me every step of the way. There’s no way I would have achieved even half as much as I have done without having a PT as good as Luke in my corner and the knowledge I’ve pick up from him will stay with me for a long time in my training to come. The nutrition side of my programme was handled expertly by Josh who tweaked my diet at multiple check ins along the way and always had me performing at my peak. Again, the knowledge I’ve pick up here will stay with me for life.
So 16 weeks later, 35lbs lighter and a lot stronger I’m feeling like a new person. Would highly recommend Roar to anyone who is thinking of signing up for a course and am already planning on coming back for a second phase in the not too distant future!

I came to ROAR fitness feeling apprehensive about being in a PT gym environment and I can honestly say that it was nothing like I had expected. All the staff are very supportive, the gym has a friendly, welcoming environment. I train with Matt, he is always very encouraging and knows how to handle my attempts to avoid certain exercises. I did the 12 week programme with trainer Laura Ruthnum, and I'm now continuing for another 8 weeks. Thanks to Laura I am a #girlswholift convert. I have lost 10kg and I am still going. I've dropped dress sizes and my shape is entirely different. I am also dangerously close to beating my husband in arm wrestles, so it's a win all around.
Laura is an excellent trainer. I have had personal training in the past (more cardio and HIIT based) but I've never worked with someone with such depth of expertise in really shaping my body. I love that she has such high standards for me and the way she approaches her work. She is disciplined, prepared and incredible on technique. Always explaining why I should do something a certain way. I love that I can trust her to tell me exactly what to lift and know that I'll get results. There's no drill sergeant mentality - her approach is firm, but fun. I've never not wanted to go to a session. Although in the middle of legs day I sometimes change this view!
The whole atmosphere at Roar is inspiring and positive. It's a nurturing environment, whilst still being incredibly driven. There's a sense of camaraderie and you feel that all the trainers want everyone to do well, even if it's not their client. Lots of positive comments and friendliness. It's also really inspiring to be in a place where people of all shapes and sizes are owning their goals. Very different to other gyms I've been to.
Shout out to Josh who is supportive an compassionate on the nutrition side too. I'm on the way to being in the best shape of my life, even whilst still being a breastfeeding mum with little time and even less willpower.
Totally recommend Roar as an investment in yourself, your health and your confidence.

I saw my client about 2 months ago and could not believe how young she looked. She told me that it was all thanks to Roar Fitness and she persuaded me to join. The best thing I did! So, I have been a regular gym goer (3-4 times p/w) for over 9 years. During that time, I have always had a personal trainer. I made reasonable gains during that period, but the body I really desired never materialised. I started as a complete novice to any kind of weight training, and not having been in a gym for years - I have found Roar hugely welcoming and friendly so if you have never done anything like it before, don't let that put you off. If you’re lucky enough to have this dude as your PT expect to have a fun but no nonsense approach to training. Alex knows when to be your mate and when to be your coach, which is one of the finer qualities of a trainer that is held only by a few. Work hard and reap the rewards.
I was given a very short time frame to drop as much body fat as I could without loosing muscle mass. With the expert dietary advice from Luke Grahame and training of Alex, I managed to drop BF% by 2/3 and my weight by 11kg in just 16 sessions and little over 7 weeks.
ROAR fitness can not be compared to anything, I’m extremely grateful for all that I was thought. If you’re considering going, take the leap and do so, will it be easy? Hell No. Will it be worth if? Hell Yes.

If you want results then Roar is the place! I've been training with Mel for the last 4 months and even though I haven't been as strict as I could be with my eating (holidays and life!) ROAR has been the one of the most amazing things I've ever done! I've longed to get into shape for years, but all prior attempts had failed...until ROAR. The environment is super supportive, everyone's got your back and I've never felt so at ease in a gym. I've now gotten totally hooked on weight training: the endorphin rush, the energy I have coming out of the gym, the increases you see with the weight - it's truly amazing. Sarah sets you up with all the nutritional info and tips you need to really stick to the nutrition plan, and the regular weigh-ins keep you motivated because of how insanely quickly you get results! My PT James was the BEST - I'd done a little bit of weight training in the past but was never really sure how to lift correctly and he taught me proper form and helped me push myself to the max, every single session. I still can't believe how much my body has changed in such little time: I fit into clothes I haven't fit into for years and I feel so strong and lean - honestly it's the best! I could not recommend this programme more - it's such a worthwhile investment: I now feel I have the tools, knowledge and motivation to keep training alone. I wanted to train at Roar due to Sarah's reputation and my goal was to get strong and healthy for pre-marathon training. My biggest learning curve during the 12 weeks was that I finally shared publicly how unhealthy my relationship was with food, this came from the listening support, compassion and expert knowledge from Josh who managed my nutrition. Together over the 3 months we cracked some serious unhealthy coping strategies towards how I fuelled my body and my distorted perceptions of my image. I can never thank him enough for this, it's changed my life.

I have been going to the gym on and off for 20 years and I thought I pretty much knew what I was doing. I trained with Hym for 12 weeks and he showed me just how wrong I was! His training was not just about pushing your body to its limits - although it definitely did that - but doing it on the basis of a solid foundation and in a way that focused on safe and effective technique as much as pushing up the weights. In relation to the nutritional aspects of the programme, i found this hard to begin with but Josh and Hym both gave me a lot of support and after a couple of weeks it was manageable. All in all I really enjoyed the programme and have never been stronger or fitter. Hym is a great trainer (notwithstanding his love of Oreo cookies) and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Roar Fitness is THE place to go for results. The before and after photos do not lie! I was given Lainey as a PT who was just brilliant. She knew exactly how to motivate me throughout my sessions and training with her was something I looked forward to every week.
For body transformations the diet is key and Sarah Lindsay is a brilliant nutritionist/dietitian. She set my diet, tweaking it at regular intervals to adapt to my likes, dislikes and habits. The diet was the most challenging part of my 12 week program and required a lifestyle change but the support and menu suggestions made it manageable. Roar has TOTALLY changed my outlook and approach to my exercise and diet going forward!!! I now regularly weight train and have the knowledge of what is best to eat in order to fuel my body and be healthy!!!

I followed Roar for a long time before I decided to join. I’ve struggled with my weight, fitness and confidence for most of my adult life and had never got to that coveted ‘after’ photo - more like a ‘before’ and ‘progress’ and then things would stall or I’d give up.
The results I’d seen online spoke for themselves and by this point felt like I’d tried everything else so what did I have to lose - hands down the best decision I’ve ever made.
When you’re looking for a PT, you want them to be buff right, so you can tell they know what they’re doing? Well my trainer Alex has that in spades (have you seen his Instagram? Holy biceps Batman!) But, what you can’t see from a photo is the type of person they are and thats what’s made this whole experience a game changer.
My first session was hard, I felt unfit, like I had no idea what I was doing and there were mirrors everywhere that I couldn’t look at myself in, but it didn’t take long for me to relax and this is entirely down to Alex.
I could tell right away that we would get on, but also that he was specifically training me - I wasn’t just another face in a line of clients with the same rinse and repeat routine. His never ending patience, encouragement, humour, kindness, his belief in me and general loveliness not only got me through each session with a bit more confidence than the one before, but had me looking forward to the next one.
At the end of my first 12 weeks, I feel like a new person! Mirrors are no longer my enemy, I’m happier, leaner, I’m training with weights I never thought possible and I know now that I can do more and it’s Alex that has given me that confidence in myself. It takes knowledge and dedication to be a good PT, but it’s being invested in your clients success like Alex is that makes him a great one.
I absolutely cannot recommend Roar Fitness enough. The whole staff are fantastic, there’s a great atmosphere in the gym, a real family vibe with the staff and clients alike and I genuinely look forward to being there. If you’re thinking about joining, do it, I promise you won’t regret it!

Awesome online personal training experience. If you want to transform your body and are prepared to work hard, you cannot fail on this plan. From day 1 you are allocated your own PT who not only drafts you a bespoke workout and eating plan but is always on hand to answer questions or give guidance which is invaluable. The weekly check ins help to keep you motivated and accountable and the structure of the workout plan makes it easy to see just how much you are progressing as you start to use heavier and heavier weights.
The change I’ve seen during Phase 1 (4 weeks) is unbelievable and thats not only my very obvious weight loss but the whole way my body has changed shape. I’m fitter, leaner, more defined and have tons more energy plus I’ve learnt some valuable lessons on food and nutrition. Huge thanks to my PT Luke G for his brilliant guidance and motivation. I hope I can continue to smash it!

A fantastic experience! I came to Roar after suffering a variety of injuries and with little confidence in whether I could return to activity properly again. After a few months with Rich and Dave, I've never felt better! The guys were absolutely amazing at running through rehab exercises with me to start with, and then gradually progressing me onto different exercises and more weight. If you are returning from injury, or just want to get your fitness back, this is definitely the place to go. They are also really good at working around your professional life, so you can train from Monday to Saturday if you want, and they have all the supplements you need to help you recover. I honestly couldnt recommend Roar Fitness highly enough.

A gym that I really would recommend to everyone. Every single trainer is friendly, knowledgable and extremely helpful. It has made my journey so enjoyable, so much so that I have extended my programme.
Josh handles my nutrition perfectly. He schedules the regular check ins, is always available for further advice and does really listen to me. He is approachable as well as encouraging and this has helped me transform the way I eat on a day to day basis (and of course lose a lot of excess body fat).
Yordan has been a fantastic trainer from the get go. He is clearly determined in making sure his clients reach their goals and is meticulous with his training method. He pays close attention to my form on every single rep of every single set . More importantly, he really has taught me how to weight lift properly; how to engage the muscles being used, the correct tempo needed for each exercise and also when it’s time to step up (or down!) the weight. I've done 12 weeks with Jack and just signed up for another 8. I've never done weights before - thought it'd be dull and I'd hate it. But Jack is a total star of a PT (especially for putting up with my nonsense!) . I’ve been training with Roar Fitness online as I live abroad in the DR Congo for the past 12 weeks. Today was my last session and I have to say this has been an amazing experience, I’ve reduced my weight from 93.2kgs to 79.5kgs but more importantly built fantastic muscle structure which I never believed would be possible. Luke Grahame my online trainer has been amazing, following up on all my daft questions throughout the process along with tweaking my diet/training program when needed to get me to my goal (which was actually more like 86kgs at the start!!! Smashed that goal!!!). I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who isn’t able to either afford the personal training at their gym or like myself aboard and needed help. Not forgetting also the nutritionists who tailored my program for me to lose my weight correctly.

I have been training off and on with different trainers / gym's and programmes for the last 10 years and it wasn't until I did my programme with Roar that I finally realised what works for me.
The training programme I went through with Yordan was targeted and consistent but also really fun and enjoyable and I look forward to going to the gym for each session. The combination of the brilliant training 3-times-weekly sessions with Yordan (Stoyanov) and the ongoing support and advice on nutrition from Sarah (Lindsay) helped me stick to my goal and achieve amazing results. All while having a great time.
The nutrition I soon found out is just as important from my sessions with Sarah and the missing link to all of my previous training programmes. I finally found a programme that I could stick to and once I started to see the results it motivated me to continue. Educating me in why I was eating what I was and how that would effect my body was the key.
The gym is super friendly and inviting and none of that pretentious intimidation that I sometimes feel in those environments. All of the trainers are welcoming and its a nice place to train. To top it all off they had some straighteners fitted in the mens changing rooms for me to further enhance the personalised level of service!
I've signed back up fro another programme and don't see myself leaving any time soon.

I finished my 12 week training programme just over a month ago and I cannot thank my PT Nicolle enough, for all the help she has given me.
I was very nervous before my first PT session, having never really done much in the way of strength training in the past. Nicolle immediately managed to put me at ease, she was patient with me and managed to make me forget my nerves! Very quickly, I started to look forward to our sessions and this was all because of Nicolle's kind, inspiring and encouraging manner.
Don't get me wrong - she could crack the whip when she needed to, but mostly we were laughing our way through the sessions, so much so, that an hour would fly by! Her knowledge and the way she explained things to me, has given me skills and more importantly, confidence, so I can continue to progress based on her advice.
All I had hoped for when starting Roar, was to lose some weight and build some muscles. But as much as I love my biceps, I am happy to say that I gained a friend too!
Due to work commitments, I have had to have a break from Roar, but I cannot wait to work with Nicolle again in the future.

I’ve been training at Roar for 10 weeks now and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve gained muscle, lost fat, feel stronger, fitter and healthier and far happier than I’ve been in a long time. Working with James Castle-Mason at Roar has been a privilege. He is very knowledgeable in regards to the work out routine he designed for me and has pushed me every session to work harder than I thought I could. So I’m on my 3rd programme with ROAR being trained by the excellent Yordan (Stoyanov). As you can sense from this I am now pretty much hooked on weights training, having never done it before I started at ROAR. My goal at the outset was to get stronger (from a pretty low starting point!), more toned and to lose a bit of excess body fat, all of which I achieved in the first 12 week programme – effectively changing my body shape, which felt so good to finally achieve. I've had fantastic support as well from Matt (Lindsay) with my nutrition plan programme - so pleasing to see the skin fold measurements reduce!! Yordan is a highly effective and exceptional personal trainer, always motivating and supporting, making sure you are working with the weights using the correct body positioning and fine tuning the programme so that it is suited to me - it’s hard work but it’s been worth it. Yordan is very patient (and has had to be with me!!) and he makes the sessions enjoyable and fun, even when he increases the weights on the leg press and you are convinced you won’t be able to lift it and he tells you that you can definitely do it! I’m usually laughing through the pain! I’m thrilled that I am getting stronger with each gym session and definitely plan to keep going with the training.

I went into Roar Fitness not knowing what to expect, but the immediate professionalism filled me with confidence. Rich devised a week by week plan and explained exactly why we were doing what we were doing. As a result, I watched my body change week by week. We put in some hard sessions, but it was never about sweating until I was on the verge of collapse, more a steady progression through weights and interesting exercises.
As a result, I watched myself get stronger – and leaner – and enjoyed every minute of it. The professionalism of every member of staff is what really made Roar Fitness stand out for me. Unlike other gyms, I couldn't wait to go back for another session, and together we made the most of every second, leading to amazing results.

I rave about my experience of training at Roar with Nicolle to anyone who will listen - it’s been life changing. I signed up a few months before my wedding, feeling frustrated and unmotivated with my exercise routine after years of going to HIIT style gym classes many times a week and barely see any results. I’d also suffered with sciatica in the past and was nervous about doing weight training on my own and ending up the an injury due to poor form. After just three months of training 3 times a week with Nicolle I’d smashed my aesthetic goals and felt so confident in my wedding dress on the big day - and got loads of compliments too! I’ve also learnt so much from Nicolle - with every rep she gives me tips on how to improve my technique. Matt helped me with nutrition and that’s been another game changer - I have so much more energy, consistently throughout the day, and my IBS symptoms have pretty much disappeared! Roar has become a way of life for me - I’ve finished the initial three month programme I signed up for but I don’t want to leave so I now train with Nicolle once a week and have the knowledge and confidence to train on my own another couple of times a week. Signing up with Roar was totally worth the investment - financially and time-wise. I achieved more in my initial 12 weeks than I have in years. Whilst I wasn't unfit when I commenced the process, I was spiralling backwards pretty fast. I signed up because I needed the complete package - an excellent PT, nutritional guidance and accountability.
I loved the process and didn't find it difficult. I genuinely looked forward to, and enjoyed, every session with my PT Alex Smith (aka The Hair). I've had negative experiences with PTs in the past, so I was apprehensive to begin with - PTs whose sessions I dreaded, those who would be distracted by their mobile phone, those who were overly critical/negative, or those whose sessions I left thinking "I could have done that alone." This was never the case with Alex. He pushed me harder than I could have pushed myself, and never let me give up on the last couple of reps, even when I thought I had nothing left in the tank. I always felt at ease around him, and he has always been encouraging and entertaining. I recommend him highly. And yes, I put my money where my mouth is...and I signed up for an additional 8 weeks.
I was also extremely fortunate to have Josh Faux on the nutrition side. He is integrative/holistic in his approach and very open minded. He is also a very genuine and empathetic guy.
The atmosphere at Roar is great and the whole team is simply delightful.
If you're hesitating about joining - don't...just do it!

I just finished the most awesome 12-week programme with James. Having spent years going to the gym on and off but never really making progress, I'm amazed at the progress I've made over this time. I feel stronger and fitter than I've ever done and learnt a huge amount from James and Josh on the nutrition side, that has set me up to build from here. James has been a great trainer, pushing me hard but with a good sense of humour along the way, so I've had great fun and was gutted that it came to an end. Couldn't recommend James and the team more and really got the transformation I was after and in a manner that I really feel I can keep going.

Alex is an excellent trainer who's pushed me further than I would have thought possible, while still making making it enjoyable enough I have the hunger to work more. He's gotten me real gains in a short time; patient with my weaker elements, without ever giving me an inch to slip or fall behind. A delight to work with, I'd recommend him to anyone.
