I started training with Martin in August 2021. I had done zero training. Martin has taken time to understand what I need to achieve, and has taken the appropriate steps to help me where I need to get to. He is an amazing trainer. He pushes you when you need to be pushed and has great understanding. I truly recommend Martin to anyone that is thinking of getting fit.

I've been doing personal training sessions twice a week outdoors for more than a month now with Martin. He has been a great trainer. I want to get up to fighting fitness and start sparring again. I have been to a couple of boxing gyms before and I think he has great knowledge of fitness and technique meaning he can help you get fit but also teach you at a very detailed technical level how to box. In terms of fitness, I think he gives you fitness exercises that are safe and sustainable, but allow you to quickly improve. Sometimes I think trainers push you too hard too fast which leads to injury. In terms of technique, I've really appreciated his emphasis on good footwork and body movement. Couldn't ask for more.

I joined the square 2 months ago and was bang out of shape. Thanks to Head coach Martin’s intense training I now feel fitter than ever.
Classes are kept small and designed around ones own individual level of fitness...and as your level of fitness increases so does the intensity!
Technique wise Martin’s boxing coaching is excellent with most classes including drills and technical boxing work as you would expect from a top boxing gym.
I’ve visited many boxing gyms over the years, in terms of results and the personalized coaching on offer the square is by far the best!

I joined The Square Boxing Club after lockdown as i decided needed to take action on my fitness and health. At the time, i have not exercised for a while and was looking for a more fun and different type of exercise and came across The Square Boxing Club, where Martin is the trainer with professional boxing experience too.
This is a great way if you are trying to build your fitness from any level, you will get outstanding service from Martin. If you are a beginner like myself do not hesitate and go for it. Martin has since trained me and within weeks i was able to complete activities i thought were impossible. You will also be learning boxing techniques whilst getting a good workout.
For those who would like to focus on technical skills, Martin is also able to train.
I have met others in the training who have been working with Martin for years, this in itself is a testament to the exceptional service Martin provides.
Pre covid I would have attended gym classes and gone to the gym alone - this gets hard and loose motivation but at The Square Boxing Club you will maintain motivations by the results you see and feel. Even throughout lockdown Martin is able to continue to provide great training through online sessions, there is no excuse to slack and, again, displaying Martin's commitment to his clients.
If you want high standard training and want to reach your goals this is the place to join. Super friendly and great trianing.

I first came down to The Square and met Martin 2 months ago, with very little previous boxing training. Even as a beginner, from the second I walked in I was made to feel welcome and part of a team, training alongside other gents and ladies of mixed boxing abilities but all sharing common goals of giving everything we have and pushing ourselves. The atmosphere is very supportive and respectful. Each session is grueling, and there are no easy days, but the sense of achievement is unmatched. The results you can get for yourself are literally limitless. Martin is extremely knowledgeable it’s very clear the many years of dedication and no joke hard work he has put in to have reached his level. He is attentive and always looking out to give each member the corrections and improvements they need. Martin has been able to push me into overcoming my own perceived limits. He is absolutely committed to you getting the most out of each session possible. To this point I cannot thank him enough for his patience, the expertise he has shared and continual encouragement. The Square Boxing Club and especially Martin as a coach is the best that could have happened to me for my physical fitness since I came to London. I’ve been training for pretty much all my life trying my hand at many different sports, and training with The Square Boxing Club and Martin in particular to learn the beautiful sport that is boxing, this sport is by far the most toughest physically and mentally, most demanding on my fitness levels, and at the same time most rewarding and fun. Martin, through his years of boxing experience at the highest of levels, is able to create a style of training and programming that will match your ability level and more importantly your needs and what you are wanting to achieve, whether it be on a one to one personal basis or in well led group sessions. I can tell you, this is the best boxing club in London and probably in the UK. You have a extremely professional set of coaches and a lovely environment to work out. I have seen results and I have been training with the square for the past 3 years and already participated as an amateur boxer. The training is tough but adapted, the rewards are big, and the team is always fun and welcoming.

I’ve been boxing with Martin and The Square Boxing Club coming up to 2 years now and it’s been a hugely rewarding experience from a fitness, learning and life experience perspective. First of all, the training that Martin puts you through is the best and toughest I have ever experienced. He is definitely a trainer that doesn’t cheat his students. His methods are varied and challenging (massive understatement, because you are pushed to the absolute edge but it is at the edge that you get the most results!) and he get every last bit of effort out of you. And you know what? Because he cares a lot about providing to his students his most honest and dedicated effort, you find that you end up wanting to give an extra 10% to finish each exercise and training session. By the end of each session, you are left with an amazing sense of accomplishment and feeling lucky that you have a coach like him. This boxing club is simply amazing. I started boxing here in 2014, I can honestly say going to this boxing school has provided me with the skill set I've long since craved.
When you train here you get a mentor that will provide the level of tuition requested whether its beginner, middle or advanced. You will get honesty, reliability and someone that will get the very best out of you.
My personal goal was to develop a skill set that mean't I could dance with anyone my size and weight over a number of rounds. I honestly believe I have achieved that, and there is so much potential for more, the only limiting factor is the amount of time I can dedicate to the art.

Amongst all the boxing clubs I’ve visited around the world, The Square stands out for Martin’s personal attention, engagement, and deep knowledge. In a single drop-in session, he sized me up and took me just far enough outside my comfort zone to give me one of the most challenging training sessions I've ever had but without trying to break me. In the ring, his technical advice was bang-on and outside it, he provided pad work and intense intervals. Above all, he’s friendly, forthcoming and easy-going. I've trained at four different boxing gyms in London as a "recreational" boxer, and have finally found a place to train that stands head and shoulders above the others. My coach not only pushes me towards my fitness goals, but technically trains me to be the best boxer I can be. I’ve been training with Martin since soon after the lockdown began. He has driven me hard and rightly so - the varied programme is tougher than anything I’ve known, but at the same time Martin has shown a lot of patience and understanding and this has helped - I’m 59 after all!

It's not just a boxing club it becomes home!!! The smell you get once you walk in the gym becomes a smell you never forget. The bells ringing, the bags getting hit, train noise running above. It's a atmosphere you will never forget!! The coach's are on point with both coach's martin & Mark having over 100 bouts each. The training session are so intense you forget what being alive feels like.
Best gym ever if I'm not boxing for that gym I won't be a boxer at all!!!

Group training sesssions (mainly 3-4 people) offer a great mix of boxing and HIIT exercises. No two sessions are ever the same!
Sessions are run by Martin, an experienced boxing coach so you get a lot of help with your boxing technique. Note - no previous boxing experience required.
Also great crowd - felt really welcome and part of the team from the first session. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for some fun (and farly intense) workout!

I have been training with Martin and the team for a few weeks now. Not only has he put me through my paces and got more out of me than any other trainer I think the markings picked up from my early attempts at sparring may have saved me from a mugging last week?
I was walking down a quiet street near London Fields when 3 clearly angry men came up to me and started abusing me, I had been sparring that day and had picked up a bit of a black eye and still had some blood around my nose, when they got up close they obviously thought that they might find easier victims somewhere else! After a few "no..you're all right mate" comments they walked away....
