After 10 years of long distance triathlon, I was stuck in a fitness rut, low on motivation and unable to prevent or reverse weight gain despite considerable training hours. Having heard about UP through a number of publications in North America, when I arrived in London I decided to check them out for myself. My initial thought was how professional they are, both as a business and (more importantly) their team of trainers. I have been training at Ultimate Performance for 16 weeks, and I could not recommend it enough !
The trainers are all extremely positive people, and make it as easy and convenient as possible to keep being motivated and follow through to your objectives. The process itself is completely transparent and scientific, with several body data points being tracked, and make you feel you are doing the right thing and not some random boot camp. This makes you learn a lot about how to live healthily even when outside of the training. The atmosphere is great, and I never felt any kind of judgement even though I never did any working out in my life prior to this, which is mostly due to my incredible trainer. Finally the installations are great and clean, and you always feel safe even when you're pushing yourself past your limits.
If you can afford it, I would recommand you not to hesitate any longer ! Thanks again UP for your tremendous help in my fitness journey !!

I’ve been training at UP St. Paul’s for almost 3months now and it’s been a tough but brilliant experience, which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to see real results in their fitness journey. My trainer as well as being very knowledgable and encouraging, created a personalised exercise and nutrition plan for me to follow so I could reach my goals healthily and safely, and in a way that is sustainable for the future. I can also communicate with my trainer via the UP app at anytime, track my progress and ask any questions that I may have. The gym itself is very clean, the facilities are all in a good condition and the staff (and other people training) are all very friendly. I have been a member of a few gyms and been fortunate enough to work with a some great PTs in my time. This place is the best I have experienced.
There are a lot of gyms in central London that are clean, have good equipment, etc etc. UP St Paul's ticks all of those boxes but what you get here is way more than that. When you sign up for a block of sessions they will sit down with you and discuss what you want to get out of the process and how you are going to get there. They then implement the best formula of training/nutrition planning and tracking I have seen in the market and the results you can achieve are great. These guys have nailed their system and all you need to do is show up and follow their guidance.
On top of a great formula, this place has a really positive culture. All of the trainers are incredibly friendly and really know their stuff. I have trained with Will for a while now, and he is the best PT I have ever had.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for top quality PT.

I had actually completed a course with UP a few years ago and had a great experience, but my recent 8 week course at St Paul's exceeded even that. It's a serious, focused gym but manages to foster a welcoming and accessible atmosphere and - no matter which trainer you're with- a 'team' spirit.
Beyond enjoying the course (don't get me wrong, it's not easy) and being amazed by my results, my big takeaway this time has been the tools my trainer has given me to sustain this condition moving forward. I highly recommend UP St Paul's.

I can’t recommend this gym and my trainer highly enough. I did a lot of research about weight training before signing on with Ultimate Performance. I had read inspiring examples of women in their 60’s and above who had found it helped mobility and combat the effects of menopause. So, I went for it. St Paul’s is a great, super friendly gym. Everyone there is invested in your success – not just your personal trainer. I am six weeks in and already feeling the benefits. Aside from the weight loss I have better shoulder movement and posture and I can do a mean Romanian deadlift!

It's has been 28 weeks since I joined Ultimate Performance in St Paul's and it has been the most life changing experience I've had! Up till starting with UP my journey in fitness has been a bit of a rollercoaster, where I have never been able see any sustainable progress or any physical gains to by body. However since starting with UP this has all changed.
I have had the most incredible trainer! He has not only worked me to the ground in our training sessions (something I found difficult to do on my own), but has also taught me how to be safe with my technique and stay injury free. The biggest impact he has made on me is teaching me to be accountable for my actions, for example, with my diet, daily cardio and sleep - all 3 of which are so important to making a progress in your fitness goals.
The consistent daily check-ins, weekly updates and 2 weekly measurements, is something that was totally new to me but made me feel invested in this process and made me feel more and more motivated to keep up my progress.
Overall i have nothing but positive things to say about my experience, I can safely say that i will continue to use everything I have learnt over these last few months to maintain what we have built and I will forever be grateful to UP and my trainer for helping me build a stronger mindset in staying fit and healthy.

UP really deserve five stars. When I joined almost twelve weeks ago I was a fat b*stard, fast-forward to today and I am just a b*stard (lolz).
I've dropped 15kg and counting, and I feel fantastic.
My trainer has been excellent at getting the best out of me in each and every session, my form has improved and I'm lifting more and more every time.
I had a basic knowledge of nutrition before I signed up but I'm now much better equipped mentally to navigate my way away from the bad choices and follow a diet that won't lead me back to becoming a slug-like couch-creature.
Everyone at St Paul's is friendly and approachable, I genuinely enjoy my sessions. Can't fault the place, if you are thinking about signing up just do it!

I cannot sing the praises of the team at Ultimate Performance St Paul's enough. From my initial enquiry, throughout the consultation process and into the training itself, I found the team to be extraordinarily professional, friendly and driven to help me achieve the results I wanted.
The gym itself is first-rate, with top-of-the-line equipment, huge amounts of space and fantastic facilities. Training in a private gym, with the best equipment, without a doubt contributed to the success I enjoyed during my course of personal training.
As for my trainer, beyond designing a bespoke 12-week programme for my transformation, he provided support whenever I needed it, created tailored and interesting nutritional plan and showed incredible adaptability when the COVID pandemic forced the gym to close (designing a home workout programme around my equipment, doing a virtual consultation to ensure I was getting the most out of it and checking in regularly). I could not be happier with the service I received.

On my interview I briefly met MATT and then spent an hour with WILL. once again it was so nice. Very very professional but very very welcoming.
So of course I bit the bullet.

I’ve been training at UP St Paul’s for 8 weeks and it’s the best training experience I’ve ever had. From top to bottom, everything is explained and I’ve made insane progress. I went from 13.5% body fat to under 7.5% in 6 weeks and am now focusing on building muscle.
The trainers are so knowledgable, there is an incredible vibe in the gym, and it really is so personal…. as in “Personal” Training and not generic.
Sessions are enjoyable and everything is made so easy.

I started my journey at Ultimate Performance St Paul’s 12 weeks ago and my experience has been, and is, extremely positive.
I was nervous and apprehensive starting out but my personal trainer has been amazing since day one and quickly put me at ease.
You really do feel a sense of your goals being important as well as being listened to, and there’s immense support in working towards your goals and ultimately becoming healthier. Signing up isn’t just about the training you’ll experience at the gym: I am constantly learning about nutrition, training, sleep, how the mind works etc from my trainer and my trainer is always at hand to offer guidance: You receive a complete end-to-end service, which leads you onto understanding your body better and this in turn means you’re able to stick to the positive changes you are making; it isn’t a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle change.
During my first consultation before joining, I did ask to be matched with the best PT haha and I was asked to trust being matched to who is best suited to me and I wasn’t sure that’d actually be the case, but I really do feel I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer and in all honesty I think I’ll be sad to leave once my journey comes to an end haha. It’s very welcoming at UP St Paul’s, my PT has been more supportive than I could have imagined, and everyone is very friendly that the atmosphere this creates feels almost like a family and you feel completely at ease.
What blew me away in my first couple of weeks was observing how dedicated and disciplined the PTs were; it was almost like seeing something out of a martial arts movie haha. That in itself is very motivating and inspiring as you also want to be the best!
If you do want to make changes and are prepared to work hard, then I cannot recommend UP St Paul’s enough. The results will speak for themselves. In a 12 week period I’ve come so unimaginably far and cannot wait to see where the journey continues to take me and I’m extremely thankful to my PT and always will be, as I’m changing not just physically but I feel so much more confident in myself. This experience is changing me positively and in a way I could never have imagined.

I joined U.P. for an initial 6 weeks being at one of my lowest in terms of body confidence and general happiness. After multiple tried and failed generic approaches/programmes that never seemed to do anything for me - plus going through the past year loosely tracking my diet and going hard on mixed cardio and HIIT - I was defeated and beyond frustrated. I'd heard of U.P. a good 1-2 years ago and was always intrigued but never went for it, but come May 2021 I went for it - and I am so grateful to myself that I did.
I carried my programme after the 6 weeks, and at the 15 week mark lost 13.2kg and dropped 12% body fat - I am incredibly proud of what I've achieved, I didn't really think I had it in me.
The entire process from start to finish has been fantastic - their bespoke approach was exactly what I needed and it absolutely worked. My trainer was amazing - always professional, passionate for what he does and informed on a much deeper level than basic nutrition which is something I think a lot of PT programmes fall short on. This is by far the best gym I’ve come across in London. Superbly professional with all brand new equipment and plenty of space. I’ve been training at UP for a while and recently started training at their St Paul’s gym with Dave. A new outlet; spacious, great facilities and a great atmosphere. I am really pleased with the results I have achieved in a short timeframe.
What sets UP apart from other gyms is their holistic approach to body building where they focus equally on all aspects (nutrition, daily activity, training etc) for optimum results. Excellent trainers who push you to get the most out of the program.

I cannot say enough good things about UP St. Paul's. The trainers are professional but beyond that you can see the dedication and passion for their chosen field and their commitment to help you as a person. At initial consultation, the gym manager quickly understood the place I was in and where i wanted to get to (the promise of getting me off eating crackers alone was most positive!). There is great communication between the trainers and I. I came in 2 days before the 2nd lockdown and immediately, my trainer developed the program that I can do from home and committed to continuing the workouts using my home equipment via zoom same time as if I were in gym....and that he did! I was amazed with what we were able to accomplish. I can see such a big difference - my posture, the fit of my clothes, the confidence when i walk - there's a lot more work to do to get to my goal but we have accomplished so much in 6 weeks! Whilst I'm not a gym fanatic, since going back and doing the workouts with my trainer, I have learned to love the challenge and I can see this becoming a way of life after the 'transformation'. The facilities of St Paul's is excellent; precautions for COVID are really good - I never feel at risk; it is amazing how many dumbells, machines and other contraptions there are and the different ways to use them - my trainer seems to know exactly how to adjust them to fit my height/built and when he needs to up the weights to challenge me - shows the experience he has! Most important, UP has shown me what it means to have a 'personal' trainer. My trainer is available pretty much 24/7! He is there not only for the gym sessions, but he is there to comment on my choices of food throughout the day; provide reminders and encouragement; gives me advice on what to order and even asks for the menu to be able to help me specifically on a preferred choice; if he does not hear from me during the day, he sends me a quick check up. Amazingly, he did this right in the middle of my thanksgiving dinner - great reminder to stay focused on making the right choices! He also listens to my other frustrations that impact my food/activity choices...and he gives me just the right push and support. I also feel that my trainer understands the challenge of the female physique which helps manage frustrations with hormonal fluctuations. Living the UP way is becoming my 'new normal'; it is much more enjoyable a process than I expected - don't get me wrong they push you hard but I'm amazed at how much stronger and confident I have become in just over a month (I probably should stop telling my trainer when the dumbell feels a tad light....). In all seriousness, doing the transformation over the holidays is nerve racking but i think it is the best decision I have made to keep me accountable. I feel most supported; my trainer has given me advice on how to deal with the food choices and exercises/movement (and offered me a session on the 24th! this is great). I know I can enjoy (including my 15 year old son's gourmet cooking!) without spiralling down - I have the UP Cookbook and the Chocotrients outside of the 2 days of celebrations! I can write so much more but summing it up - best decision to join UP St Paul's; trainers bring the meaning of personal training to a whole new level that makes the investment in time, effort and money t to be 'priceless'! Been training with U.P St Pauls for the last month. Really slick new gym, friendly knowledgeable trainers, and serious results. In a month I'm down from 11 to 8.7% body fat while making strength and size gains every session! Couldn't be happier!

I have been training for a number of months and could not be happier with the results. The programming training nutrition is top class, and my trainer is my partner in fitness. The gym is brand new and located close to the tube.

There is so much equipment, the weights go up in halves which is great for progression and exactly as with City, the Personal Training experience is second to none. Can't recommend highly enough.

I'm only half way (or just a week past the half way) mark in a 12 week program, and the results have been incredible already. Super excited and looking forward to the end results!
I have lost about 8.4% of my bodyweight over the last 7 weeks, and shed 7% body-fat approximately in just 6 weeks. A lot of the work is on your end -- the food, the steps, the sleep, etc. and takes quite a bit of time and commitment -- but my trainer has always been at hand to provide help and guidance. I'm surprised to have trained so hard and not have been remotely close to an injury (except those nasty exertion headaches!)
We added 20-30 kgs to my pendulum squats in just four weeks, which is amazing! My trainer is very mindful of my goals, and constantly keeps pushing you to your limits (or probably beyond).
Having never lived in a gloomy country before, I had terrible insomnia in winter 2020-2021 (averaging 3-4 hours of sleep a night). I am not sure which intervention has helped the most (could be the cleaner eating, exercise, the walking which makes me step outside a lot more, or the reduced stress from better hormonal balance) -- but I've managed to easily average 7-8 hours of sleep per night (could easily sleep much more now, but life keeps you busy). My sleep issues have gotten better so much better that I can fall asleep at a moments notice in a brightly lit room with a quite a bit of background noise! I might make this a recurring winter thing!
The diet is hard though. Hopefully my next cut will be not as rough! :)

I can't recommend UP St Paul's highly enough. I've been working with my trainer for about 3 months now and the journey has been amazing. My fitness has improved significantly and I'm well on the way to achieving the goals we have set. I've been fully supported both in the gym and outside it with regular messages from my trainer to keep me on track! The facilities are great and you feel as though you are part of a team when you turn up to train.
