I contacted JMCoaching in August 2021 ahead of London marathon. I have run some good times in the past but just on the basis of running more and more miles. Because of this I could run fast but couldn’t walk down the stairs. This had caught up to me and was really struggling for form.
I was given Adam Craig as my coach and despite being sceptical of spending my hard earned money and half expecting a copy and pasted plan each week I could not have been more wrong.
Being honest it felt like going backwards at first but Adam is always open to my stupid questions and thoroughly explains the ‘why’ of everything.
Fast forward to now, I am faster than ever, always feel recovered properly and love the old steps.
I have just run a 2.30 marathon at Manchester and feel like we are just getting started!
Highly recommended if you want to train smarter with good honest coaches who seem to understand the need to be your best but also that you have a full time job and family to work around.

I found Jonny 's 18 week sub 3 -hour marathon plan on training peaks. Returning from a long term injury, I was a little apprehensive. Jonny's program was logical and progressive, I never felt overly fatigued or stressed, whilst hitting my numbers in most training session. Jonny was always quick to respond to a question or an adjustment in my training plan via email.
The proof is in the numbers, I did 2:59:53 in Melbourne 2022. But the other story is how good I felt whilst running it. Do yourself a favour and grab one of Jonny's many programs to suit your running goal.

After something of a meltdown at the London Marathon in 2019, I wanted to leave nothing to chance in 2022 and decided to get professional help for my training with JM Coaching. I worked with Adam who designed my training program weekly, adjusting as it progressed and brought me very well to the boil at just the right time. He gave great advice on nutrition, hydration, race strategy and kept my confidence up when I needed it. As a result I ran the sub four hour marathon I had set out to achieve. I would thoroughly recommend JM and Adam to anyone looking for help with distance training.

5k Sub-20 (8 Weeks) training plan purchased via TrainingPeaks. I found the plan well suited to my abilites from the start, and the workouts and runs increased realistically in line with my progress. All the workouts were interesting and different, so it never got boring. All runs were provided with an explanation of what and why they were being used, and Jonny supplemented with additional support via email whenever needed, and a website full of useful resources, including nutritional information and race strategies.
Best 5k time before plan: 21.30
5k time after plan: 18:38

In my quest to try and get under 2:40 and on the recommendation of a friend who was already getting coaching off jonny, i decided to go for it and i cant speak highly enough of the training, everything is carefully thought through and designed with your end goal in mind. Sessions are explained and the desired intensity listed. Jonny is always available for advice or if you need reassurance. Can honestly say i was in the shape of my life and even bagged a half marathon pb in the build up. Like he says, you have to trust the process which 100% works

I've been using Jonny Miller's training programs for the last 6 months and they are excellent. The programs (I've been using the ones on Training Peaks) are really varied and focused and help you get the absolute most of your training sessions. My goal this year was to run a sub 35 10K and yesterday I just managed it at the North Tyneside 10K. With his help I'm now hoping to shave another minute or two off! Excellent service from the off! I emailed Jonny after completing the Manchester Marathon in April to enquire about coaching after seeing other great reviews - he couldn’t have been more accommodating and took the time to go into great detail about everything regarding my training and aspirations within running. From this, I was assigned Adam as my coach and already the results are speaking for themselves. I’ve been provided with a bespoke training schedule that is mindful of my family life and career. I’ve recently completed a 10k and was delighted to have set a PB during the run - Adam took the time to speak to me about strategy beforehand and this as well as his methods played an enormous role in my result. As well as excellent training, Adam frequently checks in to see how my training is coming along and is highly responsive to any questions I throw at him. Highly recommended!

Superbly tailored coaching that has given me structure, discipline, support & advice allowing me to improve my speed and endurance with a lower risk for injury. Fantastic IT platform that links to my smart watch, a great variety of interval sessions structured to whatever distance race I’m aiming for. Additional advice on strength training, technique, stretches and nutrition & diet. All training is based around my races allowing me to be fresh on race day! The knowledge and help I’ve received has allowed me to PB in most distances from 5K to Marathon and I’ve qualified for England Athletics Masters team at Half Marathon distance. Jonny has been coaching me for 6 months and not only have I enjoyed the variety of the workouts and the manageable increase in load, I've improved greatly even without in person races. Yesterday I ran an unofficial half marathon PB on my own as a time trial on a tougher course than I ran my previous PB 2 years ago. I was 3 minutes faster than my best time for last year in similar circumstances. It also came off the back of my fastest ever 10 mile two weeks ago.
Jonny provides great knowledge and guidance and has changed the way I approach race efforts. Also I no longer spend ages trying to work out my own training plan and wondering if I'm pushing myself too hard or not hard enough. Although I'm 38 this month I hope to take a big chunk out of my marathon time later on this year. Thank you Jonny!

Jonny’s training plans are really enjoyable and I noticed that my running form improved very soon (not even sure why, but it did!). He’s also helpful and available for questions on anything from training to nutrition or even shoes! Before training with Jonny I used to follow plans from books, but once the race was done I always found difficult to get back to running with consistency and workout variety. It is really worth to have a coach all year long and Jonny also has the answers to all the questions that book won’t know!

I have trained with JM coaching (Jonny) for a number of years. I initially joined Jonny to help with my training going into Berlin Marathon (which I got a massive PB!). I wanted a coach who not only help me to improve but someone who I could learn from. I receive my training through Training Peaks, where the sessions are specifically tailored to me and are geared towards my goals. Jonny is amazing at getting the training ‘just right’ and getting the best out of you - this isn’t by luck, it is through years of experience and knowledge, which he passes on to his coached athletes.
In the last 18 months, while dealing with a complicated injury Jonny has helped me to maintain a level of fitness, this was at a time when running wasn’t possible. He put me in contact with an excellent physio, who he knew would be able to help me get back up and running. During this period of rehabilitation/physio I was supported, and training structured to ensure I was maintaining fitness levels but allowing my body to adapt and get stronger. This was above and beyond what I expected in a coach but goes to show that Jonny is more than an online coach - he genuinely wants to get the best out of his athletes. In the last year I have become a stronger runner and have made massive improvements in my race times. I absolutely love my training which is fun and challenges me. I have grown in confidence, gained friends, a running ‘family’ and now run for a wonderful club. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve this year and the years that follow. I've been working with Jonny as my coach for around 2 years and across that time my times have tumbled. I was running around 20 minutes for 5k and I'm now at 18 with similar improvements across all distances up to half marathon.
Jonny uses a simple but very effective system to manage training. He'll ask what you want the next focus targets to be and then he sets sessions either on a 1 or 2 week basis using an app called Training Peaks (which your data is uploaded to in a similar way to Garmin or Strava - no extra effort) which works really well as you don't get drawn into looking too far ahead but know you're working towards the big goal.
Jonny uses Whatsapp to communicate with you, which I think works really well and if you ask any questions, then he'll get back to you within 24 hours or so depending on where he's training in the world. This week, I was due to be doing a half marathon that was cancelled 24 hours beforehand and he was messaging me to tell me it was cancelled almost before I'd seen the posts on the event Facebook page to rearrange my long run for the weekend and to amend it on training peaks before I headed out at 10am. Well beyond the call of duty in my opinion!
If you're looking for a remote coach, I'd thoroughly recommend working with Jonny. Excellent service and well worth the money.

I am 6 weeks into a 14 week program with a target half marathon at the end. I have been very impressed with the structure of the coaching and the adaptability Jonny gives to his clients.
I have enjoyed the variety of sessions and seeing the progress so far.

I've been working with Jonny a little under a year and have seen huge improvements. I've smashed every single PB from 5k to the marathon just by following the training he sends me. Okay.... after a rocky start. Me basically not putting my trust in Jonny and being a diva and questioning him.
I decided to listen (this is a first) and just believe in what he said would work. Hills are not normally on my radar, however Jonny loves to dish them out 🧗♂️
I thought the chance of getting a PB at V40 was over and had resigned myself to getting a decent time or as close to sub 36mins as possible.
After 12 weeks of completely different type of training that I was use to, I stood on the start line. I was absolutely bricking it. Early that week I told Jonny that I felt I had the best block that I have ever done. He told me to write it down and hold onto that thought and tell it to myself come race day. Well I smashed my PB by just under a minute. It couldn’t have felt better..... buzzing!!
