I've recently completed a term of baby massage with my 3 month old and enjoyed it so much we've signed up for a class of Baby Yoga next. Ruth is a fantastic facilitator; calm, reassuring and just generally lovely to be around. I really appreciate that the classes are quite small as I've been to so many baby classes where I've felt very crammed in, but the group sizes here feel safe and intimate and are a lovely way to meet other new parents too.

Ruth’s baby massage class has been really beneficial to my baby and I, a great bonding experience and massage techniques to help with baby development, colic, teething etc. Ruth is welcoming, knowledgeable and has the perfect persona to run this type of class. Spark’s studio has twinkly lights to stimulate the babies and is generally a lovely intimate space. I would fully recommend Ruth’s classes.

I've done Baby Massage and Baby Yoga with Ruth and loved them both. They gave me skills I could use at home and Ruth explained how each move helped with babies development so it was interesting too. My daughter gets upset when there is too much going on so we've had to stop some classes elsewhere, but the calm and intimate atmosphere of these classes are perfect for her.

Myself and my daughter Willow have just finished two blocks of Baby Yoga with Ruth and really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it! The yoga is mainly for the baby which really encourages babies to roll over / sit up / crawl all those early milestones. I loved watching Willow progress as the classes went on. Ruth also incorporates relaxation for mum ( or dad) too and I loved this. Just a few minutes of relaxation and a class mantra, set me up for the day. A class not to be missed! Thank you Ruth x

Me and my son have just finished a class of baby massage with Ruth and absolutely loved it. It was very welcoming, fun and relaxing. Ruth adapted the class for whatever the babies were happy with and was so friendly. We both had a great time and would definitely recommend! Thanks Ruth!

I had the pleasure of taking the Older Baby Yoga course twice (twelve lessons in total) and it was one of the highlights of the week for myself and my nine month old daughter.
Ruth is a really lovely person and a great teacher. She made us feel comfortable and supportive the entire time - it felt more like I was taking yoga lessons from a friend, really. All of the moves we did were chosen to help babies strengthen their core, get comfortable with moving (rolling, crawling, sitting up, walking) and to increase their confidence. I saw a noticeable difference in my daughter's confidence and mobility over the course of the lessons. We even did stretches and moves for the parents, helping with bad backs and the like.
On a slightly more personal note, the vast majority of baby centric classes are marketed towards Moms and babies - which is fair enough, as the primary caregiver tends to be the baby's Mom. But as a Dad on Shared Parental leave, sometimes you can feel like an outsider or like you're being patronized ("Give Mom a rest, even for an hour!" or "Daddy daycare!", for example). However, in Ruth's class I only ever felt welcome and valued as the father of my child, that my role in her life was equally as important. I really appreciated this.
The only reason we didn't continue on with this course is that my daughter is now moving a lot and is really squirming and we found that she just had no interest in doing a lot of the moves anymore - she was too interested in crawling around and chewing on stuff.

I would highly recommend baby massage with Ruth. Ruth is very approachable and friendly. I love that the group is small so you can talk to other mums and it does not feel overwhelming. We loved going every week and really enjoyed the valentines special group as well.

My baby daughter and I both loved the baby massage class with Ruth. It’s a really relaxing and lovely experience, and the techniques we learned are easy to do at home as well. I’d recommend this class to any new parents.

Decided to take my baby to some yoga
classes and to also meet some new parents.
Ruth who runs the classes is brilliant with the little ones. Learnt loads over the past few weeks and highly recommend for other new mums and dads. Ruth also has lots of advice and tips on many topics with regards to little ones! Well worth going I have now also rebooked for another course!

I started with Spark Fitness in August 2020 and i'm so glad I did. After trying and failing to do couch to 5k during lockdown (knees!) I realised I needed to build up my strength first but did not like the idea of going to an impersonal Gym. I met Maggie for a chat and signed up for PT and Kettlebell classes. Having never really enjoyed exercise before I now look forward to my sessions and it has massively helped with my mental health as well as my physical health. I can honestly say I feel stronger and happier. Maggie is so supportive, motivational and encouraging. More recently I have also had some Yoga sessions with Helen which I really enjoyed and am going to continue with next year. Maggie and Helen are the loveliest ladies and will have a positive impact on you if you join this fantastic studio.

Spark fitness is a great place to train. Maggie not only has great knowledge but also has such a lovely way about her that really pushes you to try your hardest. I've experienced her one-to-one PT sessions and group kettlebell classes and would highly recommend both.

This is a brilliant little studio to train in. Miles better than those big impersonal gyms! Even better are the personal trainers who run it - warm, friendly, great fun and they get results! I can highly recommend the kettlebell club. A small group work out so it feels like a PT session but you get to do it with a great group of people as well.

Spark Fitness is great! Maggie is so lovely. I had PT sessions with her and she is so incredibly motivational and non-judgmental. She tailors your program perfectly to suit your goals and is always on hand to offer advice. Don’t be fooled by her sparkly warm persona into thinking she’ll be a soft touch and let you take it easy! If you want to achieve your fitness goals, this is where you need to come!

I’ve been attending Spark Fitness kettlebell classes for around 2 months now, at 2 classes per week. In that small amount of time I already feel a lot stronger, the weight I can lift has increased quickly, and it feels like my technique is always improving. The trainer Maggie is lovely and always demonstrates each exercise herself - The classes with Maggie are also in small groups so very personal and she focuses on each individual throughout. The classes focus on your technique and strength rather than a fast pace which I prefer. It has give me a new found passion for exercise and more confidence in myself - highly recommend!

Fantastic, friendly and perhaps most importantly EFFECTIVE instruction. Maggie recently gave me some tuition on various kettlebell techniques and I was amazed at how quickly it helped. Within a few moments of coaching she improved my kettlebell press to the point I pressed a weight I’d never managed before. Highly recommended.

Just had my first PT session with Emma - and it was great! Convenient location, private space, 121, targeted strength session and stretching to aid my running and generally to keep my muscles as I'm aging. Made me feel at ease. Have already signed up for the mid week Legs, Bums &Tums class with her, and will be doing another weekend PT session for upper body. Would highly recommend it!!

Personal training specifically designed for you and your requirements. Kettlebell classes in a small, friendly atmosphere which is both encouraging in group but also professional and effective. I even got advice regarding a persistent back problem that greatly and positively affected how I do certain training movements. Highly recommended

I've been going to kettlebell club for a few weeks now. I really like the focus on technique and the small group aspect. The classes are always fun and you feel like you've achieved a lot at the end of every class.

Fantastic small friendly studio that offers personal training and small group sessions with added online support. Very well run with convenient online booking system. Maggie and Aimi are knowledgable and supportive. I have been a member of the kettlebell club for about six months and feel so much fitter and stronger since joining.

Spark fitness is in the right area and has the right atmosphere for those that want to train using the amazing kettlebell. I don’t know any lady out there that wouldn’t want to train with a super group of people and a fantastic trainer in a great well equipped studio.
The kettlebell is a tool that you want to use to gain strength but you do need to know how to use it correctly and Maggie has had all the strength training needed to teach anyone how to use the kettlebell. Each exercise that you learn is done with her knowledge and expertise. There is no rush to learn the moves as she wants to ensure you are learning each move with the correct technique and progression takes time and it will be perfect at the end as Maggie wants each of us to return for more because Kettlebells are such a versatile yet fun tool.
You will learn the basic to advanced movements and you will get help to figure out which kettlebell weight is right for you. As you get stronger you will increase your weights and you will notice the difference in your body shape. Not only is the kettlebell a tool of strength but also gives you a cardiovascular hit!
I am so grateful for what I have learnt at Spark Fitness! Each time you complete your workout you will go home feeling stronger and fitter.
Thanks Maggie for the training you have given me in kettlebells ! I couldn’t have accomplished the movements without you - you are amazing. See you next week!

I would recommend training with Spark Fitness to anyone. It does not matter if you are new to exercise or have been training for several years. Maggie is able to tailor your needs 100%.
Even though Maggie is fully qualified to train you, she continues to undertake courses for personal and professional development.
Maggie is a consummate professional whose sessions are full of fun and laughter. Before enrolling Maggie will ascertain your targets/goals. This enables Maggie to devise a programme for the individual. Therefore your training needs will be met.
So, if you want to work towards your own goal, train with a professional, have fun then join Spark Fitness. You will not regret it

Spark Fitness' focus on technique and small groups is like having personal training for the price of a class. It has given me the skills and confidence I needed to lift by myself between classes. Highly recommended!
