A really informative and fun training session. Similar courses can be a bit of a drag where you’re being talked at for the whole day but this was the perfect blend and kept us all engaged throughout. I could not recommend this company more! I did 12 hours of Paediatric First Aid training with Life Saving Training and I felt completely reassured and comfortable during the teaching, and now feel confident to use these skills if ever required! Just finished a 3 day 'first aid at work' training course, it was the best first aid training I've received by far. Great pace and plenty of reinforcing of the basics, detail to back up what we were learning and time for questions. Ian is a great trainer, fun but highly professional. I can't recommend 'Life Saving Training' enough. I have recently attended the three day 'First Aid at Work' course along with a colleague, and it really opened our eyes. I have just attended the First Aid at Work requalification course as my certification expires every three years. This usually involves two dull days taking notes as an uninterested instructor lectures you about horror stories they've heard in the past. A friend recommended Life Saving Training as they had previously taken one of their courses and after seeing their reviews online, I thought I would give them a go. It was hands down the best training I have received to date. The instructor Ian was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the course was heavily practical. I work on busy construction sites and in isolated locations and this course is the only one I've attended over the years where I’m confident to use what I’ve learnt. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely brilliant. Just finished the 3-day First Aid at Work course. I'm a mental health nurse, and I have to say, this training was above and beyond the first aid training I received as a student! I took the course to refresh my skills and gain confidence so I could practice First Aid as a volunteer and feel less anxious about addressing first aid issues at work. Not only was it a great refresher and helped me gain more confidence, but I also learned a lot of extremely useful practical skills which I can bring to my work too. I will be heartily recommending them to everyone I know! Also, did you know the lungs of the Resus Annie manikins need changing? I didn't, but these folks do! Most providers will have you sharing lungs with others on the course (not just gross, but also a massive infection control issue!), but these folks at LSA give you your own manikin and change those lungs every time. They also offer to keep you up to date with changes in first aid guidance, which helps keep your practice evidence-based, which is above and beyond what I expected. Absolutely can't fault them or recommend them enough. Excellent stuff. Cheers!

Absolutely fantastic training day for Emergency First Aid at Work. The instructor, Ian, was clear, understanding and kind. The course content was relevant with great training techniques such as using large gestures to match the actions to ensure a long time memory commitment. He addressed any concerns we had and any questions with quick, thorough responses to ensure that we knew what we needed to preserve life in an emergency. He gave me confidence on how to proceed in an emergency situation and I learned techniques and information that I otherwise would not have thought of. They always go above and beyond expectations every time doing first aid courses with Life Saving Training. Just completed my 3 day First Aid course. The practicals are very hands-on, giving realistic scenarios. Not your average run of the mill first aid responding to an unconscious person lying in the perfect straight position on their back for CPR, but someone on their side on some steps, bleeding or has a head or spinal injury. How do you deal with that? Really tests the knowledge and skills, adapted to the environment you work in. All taught thoroughly, with enthusiasm, patience and some humour too ensuring you can confidently deal and remember your DRABC with real-life situations and not just ticking the box. Highly recommended for people who genuinely want to know real first aid and make a difference.

What a sound training base these folk provide. I was impressed with the way training was delivered and assessed. The continual assessments as the course progressed were very valuable. The knowledge check, Fun quiz (exam) at the end to check knowledge retention gave consolidation to the course. All in all beneficial 16hrs that, to be honest, flew over. As a lapsed first responder I gained a lot from this training and feel confident again that I can deal with most situations that need a first aider.

Strolls with Poles Nordic Walking needed to renew are first aid certificates. We found Life Saving Training and have just attended a fantastic 2 day Outdoor First Aid Course with Ian and Helena. I have attended many first aid courses but none as good as this one. It was brilliantly delivered using great slides, lots of discussion and masses of practical exercises to give us more confidence. We had lots of fun whilst still covering everything we needed and more. If you are looking for first aid training I highly recommend Life Saving Training. You won't be disappointed.

Really excellent. Was a little shy but Ian who was the trainer for this session puts everyone at ease. I especially like the training style which is apparently consistent across all their trainers: It seems minor, but what was really helpful was how when practising the First Aid exercises the steps required are left on the screen whilst we do the exercises- so you can refer back to it as your practising. They also demonstrated well with mnemonics to jog the memory. In addition to this there's a workbook to take home so as a slow writer I didn't have to worry too much about remembering everything by writing it down. The end result is I'm now confident in approaching and helping someone as a first aider- something I would not feel confident in before. It was also interesting getting to meet the other businesses in attendance as this was a group workshop and reassuring that other businesses are taking first aid seriously.

My wife and I recently had a baby, and along with some friends, wanted some first aid training based on newborns and toddlers. Ian was more than willing to tailor the training around what we wanted and at a time we were all available. I have been on a number of first aid courses previously and thought I was quite knowledgeable in the area. Ian’s approached was warm and flexible and he made the session fun and interactive, but more importantly he was very knowledgeable and engaging and taught me a few things I wasn’t aware of! Having completed several first aid courses over the years where some guy or girl tells an uninterested audience, boring and horrific stories for about 6 pain staking, clock watching hours I can honestly say these guys are at the other end of the scale. I've just completed the Emergency First Aid at work course with Ian from Life Saving Training and it was great! Having the course broken down into practical hands on activities is great however, having the course tailored to each and every clients profession or discipline discussing potential situations was outstanding. Working in the education sector I am well aware of the need for pace and challenge as well as differentiation all of which Ian delivered above and beyond expectations with great humour. In the past these courses have been something you have had to basically sit through and survive. I can highly recommend these guys who will deliver the content through real life and relevant situations. A very productive days training. Thanks Ian and Helena.

I mentioned to Ian at the start of Day 1 that I was partially deaf and he made sure I could hear everything and kept checking that I was okay. With attending so many courses i did arrive thinking it will be great to refresh my knowledge but was not expecting to learn so much from a one day course. I attended Life Saving Training's course "Emergency First Aid At Work" at Jesmond Dene,Newcastle in early December 2016. From initial enquiry, through booking, payment and to delivery of certification the company was professional , friendly and efficient. However what really stood out was the quality of the training. The course content was entirely appropriate , covering the right amount of material without being overbearing for the time allowed. The delivery was excellent, clearly well planned, and done in a way that ensured it could be absorbed irrespective of how the individual participant takes on knowledge. Topics were covered with presentation materials and discussion, immediately followed by a practical reinforcement. Important points were drawn back into the material covering further topics to make the course very cohesive. The trainer clearly had a considerable depth of knowledge and could answer any questions posed, the course was however presented at the level appropriate to the audience and engaged all of the class. Having participated in a large quantity of training in my professional career, I can confidently say that this the best delivered course I have experienced. The course was excellent value and fully affiliated, a great investment by my company. In short, if you are looking for a course in this field, look no further than Life Saving Training.

I am a Fitness Instructor, personal trainer and Assistant Manager of a reputable Leisure Club, I did a sports specific training course with Life Saving Training I've been on quite a few first aid training courses and this one is by far the best. The amount of information that was delivered far exceeded what I have previously experienced in first aid courses. The stand out thing for myself was the delivery of this information and practical work that coincided with it. The theory was also made more manageable via the use of visual aids and relating the information to a real life situation to try and give the information a more tactile feel. The timing and type of practical work was brilliant and delivered with real confidence reaffirmed the information we were learning. Lastly the the way the course had be tailored for my industry was extremely helpful as it targeted situations that are most likely to occur in my line of work. The content, delivery and structure of the day meant that I walked away feeling I had really learnt something and could be effective in a life saving situation.
