I started my Krav Maga journey through the all women free trial class generously offered by AR Krav Maga in Norwich City, Norfolk. The five-week trial sessions were conducted by the Chief Instructor Tony Robinson and his fellow instructor Jack Gunton. There were around 20 women of varying ages and professions who turned up to explore an hour packed with amazingly practical self defence principles and techniques. In March this year, I took the P1 grading (equivalent to white belt) after around 3 months of training. The grading itself was incredibly challenging for someone who didn't do any strenuous physical activity during the pandemic, to finish the grading seem a battle for survival haha! The major take away so far from this training journey is a realization that your body no matter how lethargic and no matter what your age, size and built, it will surprisingly adapt to both physical and mental stress. AR Krav Maga taught me some principles related to situational awareness, planning and avoiding among others. And that our brain works differently in different environment and stress levels. Krav Maga curriculum incorporates practical principles and techniques by creating an environment that help you develop awareness on what's going on in your surrounding, pay attention to body language and individual behaviour. The training itself provides a certain level of stress where it pushes your brain to work in unfamiliar situation, a situation which likewise forces you to think on your feet. I also realized from this awesome journey that martial arts fighting and self defence are two distinct areas. If you are good in martial arts fighting does not mean you are good in self-defence.

Joining this club is one of the best decisions I ever made. The instructors are very knowledgeable, inclusive and friendly. It's a very relaxed and friendly place to learn practical self defense. If you're looking to get fitter and learn how to defend yourself, I can't recommend AR Krav Maga enough for all ages, sizes, genders or abilities. Everyone will come away with useful knowledge and new skills.

Can't recommend this enough! Brilliant and welcoming atmosphere for people of all skill levels, abilities and sizes. A good mix of instructors with different teaching styles, so you can find the one that suits you. A perfect mix of fitnes and practical real world prevention / self defence. Give it a go and you may surprise yourself with how rewarding it is, I know I was!

I recently finished one of the 8 week foundation courses and I enjoyed it so much that I signed up as a club member. The instructors are all extremely knowledgeable and down to earth, but they also push you to be the best version of yourself you could be. A fantastic group of people, who have been very welcoming to a newcomer.

Fantastic club!!! Both Tony and Jack are amazing instructors that teach fun, interesting and useful lessons. I've done several martial arts in the past but this self defence system is by far the best I've ever tried. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Just had a great Krav Maga private session with Tony today at his new location....loads of space and training aids which makes these sessions unique. Anyone one who’s thinking they are not sure just come try it. I went for a Sat morning and it starts the weekend on a high. Highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant lessons. My 6yr old daughter goes and she loves it. Great for confidence, fitness and important life skills. The teachers are fantastic and the club has a great welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Cant recommend it enough.
