I’ve been to loads of gym classes to try and lose weight and get into shape for years, I always found it too difficult and found reasons to not return. The thought of a personal trainer was equally daunting but I knew I had to do something after gaining yet more weight over lockdown. A friend recommended Sam as someone who could help me and keep me motivated. I’m so pleased I signed up with Sam, he’s helped me with my diet and taught me what I need to do to get into shape before my wedding this year. His diet plan has been great and I’ve not had to starve myself and feel hungry all the time. Sam eased me into regular exercise slowly by building good habits and encouraging me to up my exercise when I was ready, never pushing me to try things too soon. I’m seeing progress quickly and am really enjoying our weekly sessions.

As someone who has hated the thought of the gym and exercising I’m really glad I started training with Sam he has helped me work on my fitness level and has actually made me enjoy exercising. Before I started training with him I was very unfit but Sam was very patient with me and worked at a level that suited me until we were able to gradually increase the workouts. He’s very professional and definitely knows how to keep people motivated, had I signed up to a gym I definitely would have quit by now.

I have had 12 sessions with Sam so far and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending him to anyone wanting to improve their fitness levels. I am late 50s and have become very unfit due to having a desk job for 30 years and more recently overweight because of menopause. Since lockdown and working from home I'm not even getting the incidental step count from commuting. Sam listened carefully to my health goals (first to get fitter and second to shed some weight) and he created a tailor-made workout which varies slightly in each session so I never get bored. He doesn't make me do anything which hurts of feels uncomfortable and has actually made it fun (I never thought I'd say that about exercise!). I really enjoy the pad work at the end of each session (boxing!). Even after only 4 weeks I've noticed a big improvement in my general fitness- I can even run upstairs again. (Our workouts only occupy a small area in the living room). He is also really good at giving nutritional advice and sets easy encouraging targets rather than intimidatingly hard ones, so that one small success spurs you on for the next one. Sam has a good manner about him too- very easy to get on with but strict enough when necessary to get that extra bit of effort out of you when you might otherwise give up. No way I would have acheived the same results watching fitness videos on youtube on my own.
