Saw Matthew as a PT whilst in Woking and can honestly say he helped so much improve my fitness level. He is so knowledgeable and pushes you to your max without going too far. But every session is great fun and has an amazing music repertoire!!! Matt creates a custom programme in between the days you see him so you’re keeping active. I’ve more recently been in France and he’s been doing sessions online for everyone at home (you’d think it would be slightly easier but trust me you work just as hard!!). Couldn't recommend him enough for anyone of any fitness level.

I have been training with Matt when I can for several years and if I could I would train with him several times a week every week!
Matt provides a complete service, great training sessions but also advice on diet and how to manage your time and he is also able to help with injuries and niggles.
I am currently following one of Matt's running programmes and really enjoying it.
I honestly would not consider training with anyone else, Matt really is brilliant and I am always at my fittest / happiest when I can train with him. His studio in Woking has everything you need for a complete workout but one of the things i really like is that Matt will keep it simple and show you things you can do without having loads of kit making it even easier to keep on top of your fitness at home.
Matt is also a top man, funny, straight talking and as a Father to two young children he totally understands how hard it can be to fit everything in and to train when you have a child that doesn't sleep.
I could go on for ages, Matt is a top man, he will make you work hard and you will see great results if you train with him.

I contacted the Performance Trainer when I had runners knee. Physio wasn’t helping me the way I wanted and Matt helped me by making sure I was stronger and fitter to solve the problem not just the symptoms. This was over a year ago, and I have carried on until the present day because of how much I enjoy the sessions. Matt made sure he understood how training fitted into my life at different stages including working round a busy job and commutes and my knee injury. He provides advice and encouragement and I am stronger now than have everything been. Thoroughly recommend.

I have now been training with Matt for over a year and I can honestly say it has changed not only my body shape but more importantly my view on strength and fitness. I feel stronger and more toned than ever. My training has also had an extremely positive impact on my mental strength and confidence. Not only that, he knows how to push you that little bit further to really achieve the results, fast!
I’ve been training with him for almost a year, and can see and feel a big difference. I was always tired before and had colds quite regularly and didn’t like exercising much, because I didn’t know how.. ! Now exercising became my routine , I am a lot stronger and healthier - feeling my best for sure!!

Matt has trained me through my first marathon, triathlons, cross country seasons, pregnancy and injuries, offering individual sessions and remote programmes for me to follow. He's encouraging, motivating, makes you work hard, and cautionary when you may be overdoing it or injured. His passion for fitness in mind and body is obvious and paramount. His virtual and group sessions online allow me to train wherever I am which is a great benefit, especially with kids.

I started PT sessions with my housemate before Christmas and they were exactly what we were after. Matt has provided us both with a lot of knowledge and help throughout our sessions. Now my housemate has moved I have continued with Matt on a weekly basis, he has provided me with an extremely coherent program, which is exactly what I needed as I am so reluctant to just 'get on' with exercise... I've been training with SFE For almost 4 years now and I have seen some incredible results. I met Matthew when I was looking to lose weight and tone up as a new mum and he helped my to get back into running. He was great during my second pregnancy tailoring my fitness programs so that I could still work out safely whilst maintaining a good level of fitness. I'd previously tried a few personal trainers without much success. However, after switching to Matthew at Surrey Fitness Experts 6 years ago due to his expertise and passion as a running coach (and runner himself) I have not looked back. Despite not starting to run until I was in my 40s, Matthew's enthusiasm, commitment and encouragement has enabled me to achieve more than I ever expected - a 1:27 half marathon PB this year and a veteran of 5 marathons with a 3:13 PB to date. My strength and conditioning has improved massively too. Matthew is very professional, developing individually tailored programmes for his clients depending on their goals, which he adapts throughout the programme, based on the notes he takes of how they perform in each session - mentally as well as physically. He goes way beyond the call of duty and is always on hand to answer any questions I have. Matthew's enthusiasm is endless and he takes as much pride from my achievements, if not more, than I do even myself! If that's not enough, Matthew is one of the best sports injury therapists out there, which has got me to the starting line a few times despite injuries in the lead up to races. So, in summary, if you're willing to commit to and trust in Matthew's methods, PBs are almost guaranteed!

After being introduced to The performance Trainer only recently, I’ve joined his online sessions and can say that they have completely changed my way of training for the better. His personality is completely genuine, his knowledge of how the body reacts is really incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone who is new to fitness or not.

I cannot recommend Matthew highly enough. I suffer from sciatic nerve pain and as a keen runner that’s a real issue. But the programmes Matthew puts on really activate my glutes and hamstrings and take load away from the piriformis.
