I’ve now been going to Sussex Performance Centre for the last 7 weeks. Firstly I signed up for a 5 week Personal Training Course and more recently myself and my wife have been attending their 39 minute blast sessions on a Saturday morning. Before I talk about me and the benefits I’ve had on my body and mind let’s talk about the team at SPC. Every single one of the trainers are fab people. Friendly, welcoming, accommodating and so so knowledgeable in their profession. I learn something new every week. Harry my PT has been pure class and he’s not only helped me in reaching my goals in such a short space of time but he’s also made me reflect on the insight he gives me every week. Nathan has also always encouraged me but more importantly pushed me further each week.
So in 7 weeks I have pretty much achieved what I originally set out to do. I’ve lost just over a stone in weight and gained muscle definition. I’ve also got so much fitter and am doing things physically at the age of 51 I didn’t think I could. The routine and support has therefore made me mentally so much fitter and I’m now exploring and seeing more health benefits through nutrition and what I’m
Putting into my body and improved sleep. Finally, Dennis the resident dog is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet and all adding to the home from home feeling you get as soon as you walk thought the door into Sussex Performance Centre.

I'm loving the coaching sessions at SPC! Everyone is so friendly and makes you feel so welcome! I've been having coaching for a month now with Harry and can feel the difference in my strength already! He has fantastic knowledge and experience to put together a session that helps progress me and also takes into account my current injury and is also great fun! It has been really good to get back in the gym after the Pandemic. I found SPC online and am glad I took the time to visit and meet Nathan and the team. The facilities are first class and the atmosphere is relaxed but focused. I signed up for a pack of Personal Training sessions and have now been working with Jake for several months. Fabulous place and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Really enjoying the ladies group sessions. Definitely put you through your paces and you get a good workout whilst ensuring good form/technique throughout. They will adapt an exercise for you if needed. SPC put me together with Harry, one of the personal trainers.
Harry and the team have been excellent, the whole experience is tailored perfectly to my goals. Harry and the team have been extremely flexible and accommodating when trying to schedule training sessions around home and a busy work diary.
Most of all, the team are friendly, dedicated and professional. I have been having PT sessions with Harry for six months now and seen such huge improvements in my personal fitness levels, with noticeable results and a much clearer understanding of how to exercise properly. Also, how to eat a more healthy diet. Just small tips that make you more aware of what you’re eating.
I would not hesitate to recommend Harry and the team to anyone keen too improve their own personal fitness.

Sussex performance centre has really helped me with my weight loss. With Harry’s help I have so far lost over 3.5 stone. The way it works with the one on one session really makes me feel more comfortable actually going to a gym, learning what to actually do rather than going to a packed gym just staring at the equipment not knowing what to do.
Not only have I lost weight I feel so much more healthier.

Sussex performance centre is by far the best gym I have attended! All the staff are incredibly welcoming and supportive with all your goals. Before joining SPC I found myself getting anxious and feeling overwhelmed when walking into a gym environment, often not knowing what to do, however the staff at SPC have made me feel very comfortable and supported me with trying out new exercises, giving me the confidence boost I needed! Having completed one 12 week Group training program I signed up for another 12 weeks as well as starting PT sessions with Freya ! For context, I am 54 years old and was incredibly unfit before joining SPC. I had gained a huge amount of weight and was suffering with anxiety, poor self esteem and low mental health due to menopause.
I have been attending the Women's Group Training at SPC since January 2022, and have just started my third set of 12 weeks training. I attend twice a week.
I actually started my SPC journey with ten personal training sessions with Harry. His experience (and patience!) helped ensure that my technique was good in order to reduce the chance of injury. These sessions gave me the confidence to join the Ladies Group Training. I do think most people could join the group without this, but I am not a gym person at all so had no idea!
The group training is amazing - so inclusive - the trainers are always on hand to tailor the exercises for those who may have less experience or less mobility, but equally will encourage you to always train at your maximum effort.
The resulting improvements for me have been physical as well mental - my anxiety is hugely improved and I always feel fabulous after training. My body has toned up and I am noticeably stronger and have more energy.
The other ladies who attend the group are very welcoming, it's been lovely to feel a "part" of something after the separation and distancing of the last two years. I have never felt judged or less important because I'm not as far into my resistance training journey as others. Michelle and her team work hard to be encouraging, inclusive and make every session great fun.
I recommend SPC to all my friends, in fact my husband now trains with Harry! I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that SPC has changed my outlook on life.

I’m a personal trainer myself working from a studio, and wanted to find something that fit into my schedule, that was more sociable, that challenged me and trained efficiently but functionally. I can safely say that SPC delivers every time. I love a group training session, and prefer training with women anyway, but it was important to me to find the right place, one with zero egos, fun, but still pushed me hard, with a good range of equipment and knowledgeable coaches with a likeminded approach.

Started at SPC just over a year ago not too sure what to think! A little anxious and very self conscious! Someone not fit after surgery a few years ago, not liking gyms and working out alone! Feeling my age well into my 50s I had a moment and signed up for personal training! This risk was the best decision I’ve made! Strength, stamina and increased energy! Now am at my second round of Boot Camp! Crazy and fun all in one! Circuits on steroids! However always within your own pace and capabilities! I still don’t like the gym however SPC are brilliant at being supportive, listening and encouraging but most importantly non judgemental. I’ve been a member of SPC for 10 months now, having only originally joined for a 12 week block. Each session session is planned out and every coach is knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the sessions. Going to a new exercise space can often feel intimidating but SPC were welcoming from day 1. My favourite part the community vibe and the way members encourage each other is great! My weeks wouldn’t be the same without my SPC early mornings.

In 2020 and during lockdown I experienced a sudden close family bereavement. The weeks and months that followed saw me on a bit of a self destruct, low confidence, probably punishing myself a bit and generally just looking after everyone else. I also work at home which can also be quite isolating.
In late 2021 a good friend mentioned SPC to me and how much it would help me to do something for 'me'. Although I consider myself active - I am outdoorsy and love walking my dogs in the woods, I have always stayed away from organised exercise, especially a gym environment which used to put shivers down my spine. Fortunately for me, my friend had the right approach and didn't hassle me but just sewed the seed of the idea, gently encouraging me over the next few weeks.
In March I finally made the phone call to Michelle who couldn't have been more supportive and boosted my confidence that I could give this a go. Because I was so nervous, I decided to have a personal training session with Michelle before the group training started. I absolutely loved this hour and at 46 it was the very first time in my life I had done something in a gym. A week later group training begun and I have never looked back. I have made some lovely friends (one very good one) and feel like a new person. We are almost on week 11 and I cant imagine that I will ever stop now. I already feel fitter, Ive lost almost a stone and the sessions are the highlight of my week.
I think for everyone it is important to remember that people join for lots of reasons, for me it wasnt just fitness but confidence and doing something slightly out of my comfort zone.
Giuseppe, Jake, Michelle and Annie are incredibly knowledgeable and so, so professional. I cannot recommend this gym enough. It is so very welcoming.
My 15 year old son has also joined the youth group and I am not sure who loves it the most, him or me! Its a close call that's for sure.

If you are looking for a gym/fitness instructor/personal trainer look no further as SPC is an all in one package for you.
I underwent major cancer surgery last year, and due to this my shoulders and arms were very restricted in movement. I had a number of visits to the physiotherapist, which helped to an extent, but I was unable to get to a fully functional capacity. I felt a personal trainer was necessary, someone who can tailor make a programme to get my strength and movement back to normal. So, when I searched for a personal trainer, I came across all the local gyms and then SPC. Once I had a look at their website I immediately felt, this is what I wanted; a personal trainer who is friendly, understands my situation, a tailor-made program which is effective and not intimidating.
Once I had my first session at SPC, it ticked all the boxes and much more. They are the best fitness team you can find. Extremely friendly, very understanding and encouraging. Jake is very knowledgeable, patient and funny too. My one-hour session goes so quick with Jake and without me realising, he has improved my strength by manifold. And looking back, in just over two months’ time, I cannot believe what I CAN do. All credit goes to Jake without a shadow of doubt. And all this while talking about our common interests, including cricket !!
In addition, my wife Meena has started along with me. She has been diagnosed with arthritis almost two years ago and we are amazed to see the huge improvement in her strength and ability to do things which she previously found difficult.
If anyone is unable to decide whether SPC is for you or not, I can vouch for it and say look no further, give it a try! You would be joining the ever-growing fan club of SPC and Dennis the dog!!( part of the team)

I am 2 weeks into the 12 week mens programme and I am so happy I finally signed up. I have been a long time gym user but have always struggled with purpose and motivation and as such have seen little progress. I love how SPC has different routines setup and ready to go for each session, it keeps it interesting, requires no thought on my part and maximises my time.
Nathan, Tom and Guiseppe are excellent at explaining each exercise and have really motivated me to push myself during each session. They support you, encourage and make you feel great during each session. After just two weeks I am feeling fantastic and can already tell the sessions are making an impact to my strength, fitness and overall wellness. If you’re thinking about joining or having PT I honestly don’t think there is better in Worthing or surrounding area and wish I had signed up sooner!

This place is absolutely fantastic. I'm currently 8 weeks into the 10 week personal training course, and prior to joining i had very little experience with working out beyond running, and had never been to a gym before and though i was looking to improve my health overall - i didn't really know where to start. Harry not only helped me set some goals to aim for - week in week out he has helped me smash them.
In just the 8 weeks that i've been going here, with the help of Harry, i've managed to drop from 87kg to 80kg and increase my strength pretty significantly. I really recommend it to anyone, especially if you're someone like me who isn't quite sure on what to do, and also needs that extra push.

What I love about SPC is how approachable, professional and knowledgeable Tom, Nathan and Michelle are. It’s the complete opposite to walking into any other gym or leisure centre - everyone is smiling, approachable, welcoming and there’s certainly no egos! SPC really is MORE than a gym! It has a great community feel and friendly atmosphere. SPC group training you work hard and efficiently for the hour session. It’s nice turning up and not having to think about what equipment is free and what to work on. The routine / workout has been pre planned to maximise the hour session.
Comparing to a traditional gym membership, motivation can get flat and you easily find excuses not to attend. However at SPC with Nathan and Tom, they’re relentlessly keeping in touch and making sure you’re going to be at the next session to maximise your results and not allow room for any complacency.

Every instructor at SPC is special; a team of trainers with outstanding ability and knowledge. I have been training with Nathan for 9 years and at 76 years old I am so much stronger, fitter and feeling younger than I did all those years ago - his belief in what I can achieve inspires me and every week he challenges me to attain more PB’s using all the technique he has taught me. Training with Nathan at The SPC gym is the highlight of my week, even though I work incredibly hard, it’s great fun , the banter is hilarious and when I leave I feel energised, happy and ready to take the challenge of running my cancer support charity, It’s a very unique gym with a beautiful team and it’s full of lovely members… I say ‘if you are looking to get fit and improve you health - there is no better place to be than SPC ..

I’ve been coming to SPC over 2 years now. I started off with personal training with Tom, and the group training with Tom and Nathan. I then went on to do the body composition programme which also made a huge difference. All in all, SPC is fantastic. Everyone is really friendly, and the banter in group sessions is quite entertaining when you’re able to catch your breath. Overall, the challenge level in group sessions seems to be constantly going up and up and I have noticed my own improvement which is a major boost. Tom and Nathan are incredibly supportive, and really hold one to account. Also, as a lover of routine and some consistency in the madness that life after 30 has to offer, SPC has been a major well-being contributor to my life, and an absolute asset to this industry in Worthing.

Once I left the Army I struggled to find a decent gym with the same motivational instructors and fun hardworking atmosphere when one of my mates introduced me to SPC. SPC has been a complete life changer for me ! I’ve exercised on and off since my twenties ( 62 now ) but nothing has ever compared to my experience here. I started originally with PT with Nathan - this improved my strength, fitness and mobility tremendously and I soon progressed to the women’s group training which I now do twice weekly alongside my PT .
The atmosphere is so infectious and fun and what a sense of camaraderie amongst the women - we are different abilities and ages but the support from each other and all the coaches is amazing .

SPC is comfortably the best gym experience I have ever had. The people, the training, the facilities, the different courses available and their commitment to making it the best possible experience is what separates SPC from everywhere else.
There is a real effort made to personalise your induvial programme based on what kind of thing you are looking for or the best thing for you. Exercising and going to the gym can be such hard work because it is not always enjoyable but at SPC they encourage you to attend and really care if you are there or not, rather than just taking money and not caring if you go, like all other gyms.
The workouts are hard work but rewarding and enjoyable, as well as being able to do it as part of a group of friends or personally on a 1-to-1 basis.
As well as the exercise programmes, the nutrition course is brilliant and an amazing way to transform your body with the help of experts. Weekly check-ins, food planners and constant advice and guidance from Tom really helps to achieve amazing results.
Couldn't recommend SPC enough! It really is 'more than a gym'.

I joined the SPC women’s group around 4 years ago at a time when I lacked confidence, didn’t exercise consistently and was the biggest self critic. Coming to SPC was one of the main things that helped me to get out of that hole. Its been the only consistent exercise I’ve stuck at for a very very long time and the benefits go far beyond the gym itself. I’m more confident, I’m in a much happier and healthier place both physically and mentally, and I’ve found a coping mechanism that works and keeps me motivated. I absolutely love SPC and I am so grateful for joining. I've never really enjoyed the gym before/been able to motivate myself to go, but I find the group sessions so fun and motivating, and always feel amazing and energised after. There is a great sense of community, atmosphere, and girl power in the women's groups, and it's super empowering to see us all make progress week after week.
The coaches are all so lovely, supportive, helpful, and knowledgeable, and always go above and beyond - being available for any questions or advice both in and out of the sessions. Their approach is highly personal and holistic - with a focus not only on fitness and strength, but also nutrition, and all round physical and mental health. My only one regret is not joining sooner!

I love my sessions at The Sussex Performace Centre. Nathan is a fantastic trainer. He makes it feel personal and as if you are the only person he trains. You don't feel like you are just a number. My sessions are tailored and unique to me and my abilities and the goals I have for myself. Nathan pushes me to do more and use new techniques and exercises. Since training here I have noticed a huge change in my strength and my body shape. I also feel a lot more confident in a gym environment. I only wish is that I could afford to come 7days a week!

SPC owners have kept me motivated, despite being in constant pain and morbidly obese They make me feel that I matter and they want me to get healthier and be the best I can be. My Personal Trainer is very personable and makes the time I train, fun but challenging. They make you feel part of the SPC family and it is down to their knowledge, motivation, laughter and professionalism that even on bad days feel I want to be there. Nathan has been my personal trainer since February 2015 and I have additionally been taking classes with Michelle this year. Nathan has not only helped me improve my fitness, strength, tone and body shape but has seriously changed my lifestyle and focus. His knowledge, dedication and professionalism is second to none. My training sessions with Nathan push me enough to ensure I constantly get results and of course they are always fun !! Michelle's classes are superb. Michelle is brilliant to train with and ensures we get a full body workout across the two classes each week. Michelle constantly educates us all on the complexities of each exercise and its' associated benefits. The gym itself has been carefully thought out and the equipment provides everything you need. Everyone feels totally comfortable working out at SPC and are always made to feel welcome, it is a friendly, professional and relaxed gym. This has to be my favourite place to train.

I've been coming to SPC since June 2019 and bearing in mind I've never been fond of exercise, I'm absolutely loving it. That's the mark of a good gym! The team are lovely, there's always a friendly atmosphere, the sessions are varied and challenging, the gym is always clean and well organised and Dennis the dog always welcomes me with a waggy tail. I go to a women's group training class and feel safe and well informed by my coach Michelle who is approachable and clearly dedicated to helping us all get the most out of our classes. The other ladies in my groups are friendly and welcoming. I've learnt loads in the months I've been coming and feel stronger and more confident. There's no posing at this gym - I don't feel uncomfortable because I'm not wearing the right gear or don't have make up on - it's all about getting on with it, having a laugh and getting sweaty. I'd highly recommend SPC to anyone, give it a go!

I was always very wary about starting yoga as I am not very flexible, however Annette caters to all abilities. I have thoroughly enjoyed yoga since I began a year ago and I have definitely noticed an improvement.

I have been part of SPC women for 12 weeks now and have enjoyed every bi-weekly session, even when I'm left feeling exhausted at the end, the sense of achievement overrides it. SPC is a tucked away little gem of a gym and the kind of place where a friend would say 'I've found this gym, come down for one session and see what you think'. Quite honestly, that one session is all you need to become a regular part of it. The gym itself and the training team are phenomenal, there is no other word.
As a member of the evening group sessions I vouch very highly for the cross fit style sessions provided by Tom and Nathan. Each session is specially designed to meet goals set out over each of the rolling 12 week periods throughout the year. The atmosphere is great, the guys forming the session and the training team give both fantastic encouragement and banter throughout. On top of this, Tom, Nath and the team are always friendly, helpful and very easy to get along with.
Since starting I have seen huge improvements in strength, stamina and capabilities; smashing PB's. As a member of the military I also found my abilities during training exercises more than double. Correct technique and training properly is absolutely crucial to these guys and you will be able to perfect each of the exercises and avoid injury.
Recently, with a long term injury having to halt my progress, Tom and Nathan have been fantastic for providing personalised training programmes to meet my rehabilitation needs, as well as answering any kind of question at any hour of the day. These guys will be the reason I get back to fighting fit and with in a very respectable time frame.
I seriously recommend SPC. The training is brilliant, the team is brilliant and so are the guys who form the sessions. Even if your body aches, the laughs are worth the effort in coming down each time. You feel like you belong at SPC and that's even before the social events start.

This is a super new facility. Nathan is a fantastic teacher. I've been using him for 2 years now and have learned so much as well as seeing big improvements in both my general fitness and physical conditioning. So much so that he also trains my teenage son who loves using the new centre.

I approached Nathan a month before going on my summer holiday because I was desperate for my body to change before getting into a bikini!!! After 3 sessions a week for 4 weeks I couldn't believe the difference!!! What's more was that it was all achieved through weight training and minimal cardio! I would never have believed it was possible had it not happened to me!
Nathan and his teams personal training knowledge and qualifications are second to none.... they are constantly wanting to learn more and use this to help their clients!
