Andrew has been a great help in identifying how I can improve mobility problems caused by injury and old age. He quickly identifed the source of my problems and suggested a programme of exercise that is tailored to my ability. My 16 year old boy had developed very poor posture with very rounded shoulders, so I asked for help to specifically address this over the Summer - my reluctant teens posture is already so much better after just 4 sessions, Andrew was extremely patient and kind, yet very professional and motivated my son to continue the tailored exercises daily which have had a huge positive impact. Training with Andrew for the last 2 months has been a game changer. I have suffered from chronic back and hip pain for the last 20 years and tried everything including chiro, osteopaths, sport massage, and exercise programs on my own. In some cases they provided temporary relief but none of these things have been as effective as working with Andrew. Andrew is an excellent personal trainer with a strong focus on technique. He takes the time to get to you know and make you feel at ease. Andrew tailors each session to help you achieve your goals.
My main exercise interest is running but I’ve suffered from quite bad knee pain over longer distances. Having seen a GP and sports physio I was happy that there was no serious medical issue causing it, but instead it was muscular imbalance and form failing as I got tired on long runs. Andrew explained that if I wanted healthy knees while running I needed to move the focus to ankle and hip mobility.
After working together for several weeks I found that my running was getting stronger and after a few months I was able to increase my distance including running over the hilly and uneven terrain of the South Downs without any knee issues at all.
I highly recommend Andrew as a PT, especially for anyone who has a particular sporting love such as running or cycling that they want to support with balanced and thoughtful training sessions.
