I cannot speak more highly what DBM Fitness has done for me since my major knee surgery. Andy is a great trainer, very supportive and motivating. He makes our workouts varied and fun so I don't get bored. Sessions with Andy have been one of the few highlights of 2020/21 for me, they have kept me going when things have been hard and I'm really enjoying feeling fitter and stronger. 6 months ago I thought I couldn't run due to a knee issue several years ago, this week I did an 8 mile run. Andy is brilliant. Really friendly and easygoing but knows exactly how to judge the right intensity for each session. He checks in between each session and is very supportive. I've had some health issues and he has adapted each session (often at short notice) to take account of how I'm feeling.

Hi - Andy was highly recommended to me from one of his customers so as I felt I needed a kick start in life with my health and fitness levels I got in touch . Andy is a very personable professional and knowledgable trainer who listens to what you want out of exercising .He did me a tailor made programme of exercises using a mat, kettlebells and dumbbells .which changes every week .I get follow up texts with what we’ve done and help when needed is just a text away .Andy comes to my home or as I’ve outside space I can use we generally use that as I enjoy exercising outside but that’s my choice . Andy provides all the equipment needed .. and everything is Covid safe .. I certainly do feel my strength and fitness levels are improving which is testament to Andy’s fitness programme .. I can highly recommend him .

I decided I needed to get healthier and start to build some exercise into my life but I didn’t know how to get going. I approached Andy and he helped me to understand what I was wanting to achieve and more importantly how I was going to do it.
Andy helped me to set goals, keep on track and be focused by noting what energy I was consuming and expending each day. He worked with me to incorporate some basic exercise into my routine and he has been supportive and encouraging. My experience of exercising was very limited and I didn’t want to go to classes so having Andy help me learn some simple exercises really helped me to gain more confidence and understanding of what I should be doing.
My results during the time with Andy were excellent and the experience has really helped to get me started. I would recommend Andy to anyone because he is very likeable and easy to work with but also because he can clearly adapt easily to different capabilities and client needs.

Brilliant workouts, customised to me. After having my baby I wanted to lose the baby weight and get fitter. I am so happy with the results that I've achieved after only 3 months. Andy was very friendly, easy to get on with and motivated me to be focussed with my diet and to stay active in addition to my weekly workouts.
Covid rules did not prevent any training, I did a mixture or body weight exercises and using weights. Andy was very professional throughout.
I thoroughly enjoyed the training, and would highly recommend Andy to anyone.

After hitting 50 I decided I really wanted to sort myself out and as well as lose weight, wanted to get fitter and stronger. With that in mind I contacted Andy purely by chance by googling personal trainers near me as I knew I didn’t want to go to a gym! I have been training with him for just over a year now and I cannot recommend him highly enough. For me he is the right mix of strictness and encouragement and has helped me towards my goals with good humour and understanding. I still have a way to go, but realise that I have a life too! Andy not only comes up with tailor made sessions to suit me but is always on hand with helpful nutrition advice. I started working with Andy 6 months ago, and he has made me look forward and enjoy my gym training sessions once again. I have always trained but had become very bored and repetitive with the training sessions I was undertaking on my own. Andy came in with an infectious enthusiasm and confidence that he knew his stuff. He has never run the same training session, so is still surprising me. He is a very good listener, talking me through my short and long term goals.
I had put on weight after numerous injuries, he has kept me focused and motivated to achieve all my goals and still continues to do so. I have seen really positive results, taking before and nearly achieving my target photos was a revelation!. Every session is enjoyable working on body conditioning as well as aerobic fitness, but also never lets me take my eye of the ball when it comes to correct nutrition.
I would highly recommend Andy as a PT, he is great and never fails to impress.

I have been using Andy during lockdown as a zoom personal trainer and have thoroughly enjoyed his sessions. He always manages to make the sessions fun and different every time despite the lack of equipment and not actually being there in person. He is very good at gauging how fit you are and tailoring the sessions to suit you which has helped me to become a lot fitter. We always have a great laugh whilst working very hard and I would highly recommend him to anyone else!

Andy had 3 weeks to get me from level 5 to level 7 on the bleep test. He gave me some really great advice on technique and the best way to train without just doing running each session and I passed my test at the end of it. I reached out to Andy last May as I didn't know where to turn, as I felt I had hit rock bottom with my health, fitness and happiness. From day 1, Andy listened and believed in me. He showed me that small changes make big differences and 9 months later I am 3 stone lighter and a lot happier. All this despite never actually having a grueling PT workout session! That is not to say he is not there for me. He has guided me towards my future, he has lifted me when I've needed it and brought me down a peg when I've got a little bit ahead of myself. Andy has changed me in so many ways, I've learnt so much and I am forever grateful for him being there for me and believing in me. I most certainly wouldn't be where I am without him. We all think it is easy and that we know right from wrong, but without Andy supporting me and providing accountability for my actions, I would have fallen off and be stuck in the same with vicious circle that left me needing his support in the first place. If you need help, he will help you. Ultimately, you will drive the direction you want to go in, but he will make sure you stay on track and that you get there. Thank you Andy for everything.

First thoughts on having a PT at home were "this won't work for me as I was an avid gym goer" . Gym membership cancelled and 7 years later it's obviously working for me!!! Andy is a good motivator and always makes the sessions varied and challenging!! I would definitely recommend Andy without hesitation!! Just like to add, after having a recent back problems and finding out I had scoliosis and arthritis in my spine, there were still no end to Andy’s talents!!! With patience and massively adapted training sessions I’m now nearly back to full strength and pain free!!!!

I am a carer for my husband who has home haemodialysis, and so finding any spare time to do the things I enjoy is difficult. I am approaching 60 and really had a weight goal I wanted to achieve. I found Andy on a Google search for personal fitness trainer in my local area. He responded quickly to me request for a consultation, and I explained the problems I have with my time constraints and duties needed to look after my husband, and he came up with a plan. I realise that a personal trainer should tailor the exercise to their client but I cannot thank Andy enough for his patience and motivation to build the sessions around my carer responsibility constraints.
At my first introductory session he showed me a 10 minute warm up that I then completed before he arrived for each weekly exercise class, and so I was able to have a full 30 minute session including a cool down. Before each class Andy always checked that I had warmed up sufficiently and was fit and healthy to start exercising. I had always enjoyed dance base exercise and Step classes so he devised my routine with aerobics, weights and a Step workout. I had regular breaks and Andy always checked I was okay to continue, I definitely felt I had done an exercise class at the end of my 30 minutes but never experienced any adverse effects, only positive.
I have now achieved my weight goal before my 60th birthday and feel my overall fitness has definitely improved. Andy has given me the motivation to continue with regular exercise and hopefully maintain a steady weight loss and good level of fitness.

I have completed the 8 week plan from DBM fitness and found it to be motivating, effecient and most importantly effective, with both myself and my partner loosing weight and toning up throughout the plan! The workouts were easy to fit into a busy shift schedule and there was enough flexibility in the plan to really tailor it to what we needed the most. DBM fitness were quick to provide any guides to any exercises we didn't know and they were really well written and thought out. Would definitely recommend!

Andy has helped me to gain fitness and lose weight for the last 5 months. He is supportive, knowledgeable, comprehensive and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot. He really helps you to set and drive for your goals. Having had a major lay off from work and any physical activity due to a degenerative disk disorder; I was unsure as to whether I would be able to train again to any level. After a meeting with Andy, he developed a plan for me focusing primarily on my flexibility and the alleviation of my back pain. We have been working together for a few months now and I feel better both with my back pain, overall flexibility and also my general shape and posture. He is very patient and listens to all my concerns to adapt the sessions accordingly. His attention to detail makes me confident in each exercise and his friendly attitude makes even difficult sessions enjoyable. I am extremely happy with the progress I have made so far. I asked Andy to train me for a 2 week intense course before I was bridesmaid for my best friend. I was struggling to find the time to exercise and tone up after pregnancy. I have been quite ill recently and needed advice how best to get back basic fitness plus stamina etc needed for singlehanded sailing a cruising boat. Andy sent me really detailed advice by mail which I was able to discuss with my consultant before starting if. It was really useful and Ive got a graded programme together. Thanks for that, Andy. And for the encouragement and support.
I live in Whitby which is too far for face to face work. But as a long distance user, I couldnt reccomend Andy too highly. Ive met Andy just once, but I know he’s on the end of a mail - and available to check my technique from time to time.

I've been training with Andy for 4 months now, with a target to lose weight and increase my deadlift, both of which are good goals separately but very difficult to do at the same time. Credit to Andy, he managed to get me to both goals before my target dates, adding 25KG's to my deadlift!
I've been training for a couple of years now and have managed to get to a good level but needed some guidance from Andy on correct form, he's helped me beyond my plateau's and pushed me beyond my previous limits, burning up to 1100 calories in 1 session!!

Being overweight and unfit and in my 60s I made the decision to invest in a personal trainer as I wanted to change the way I look and some of the bad habits I had got into.
I used google to find Andy and I am so glad I did on so many counts. This guy is a gem and has helped me reduce a dress size already and I have lost lots of inches and generally feel great. I am on quite a weight loss journey I want to get to a good BMI and already this has reduced by 4.
Andy is special, he is encouraging, he varies the routines so you never get bored, he is not judgmental he is totally supportive, he is totally reliable. We can exercise inside or out dependant on the weather. He has lots of kit which is great to use. I love the kettle bells and weights session we do and the cardio routines, He also places great emphasis on safety whilst continuously raising the bar with the individual programmes he designs for you.
I started in July and despite having had a very sad time through bereavement I feel like I am living again. My social life is great I still go for meals out and enjoy a gin and tonic. I am just coming up to my first stone. I am a size 18 now and want to be a 14 by next Christmas. I now know with Andy’s support I will get there. Physically I feel better, my creaking knees Creak less now! I get so many positive comments from people about how well I look now. It’s been a real confidence boost. I know I am committed to this type of training. It’s working for me. I look forward to every session we have a laugh and it’s made me exercise more on the days I don’t have a session planned. When it comes to getting back into shape, I needed someone who is practical, down to earth, tuned in to why I am doing it and focused on helping me achieve my goals and develop a program that is right for me so it is sustainable. Andy’s approach hits all those targets. I am glad to have met him and I feel certain he will help me achieve my goals. He is excellent in understanding my needs, being on time, communicating, checking on me and my diet, encouraging me to succeed. He mixes things up while still listening to what you are trying to achieve, pays attention and remembers where we've been and where we are going. This isn't a one size fits all workout, but customised to my individual goals. Never boring, always challenging. It's fun, he’s super nice and is very passionate about what he does! In 10 months i have noticed considerable improvement in my core strength, flexibility, my well being and certainly in my confidence, he is very professional, reliable, attentive to what makes sense for me given that I'm out of shape and haven't worked out in a number of years, and in creating an encouraging environment. I'm now so much stronger with his help, Andy has made me more motivated because I now believe that losing weight and being stronger and healthier is possible! I would highly recommend him, a trainer that personally works around your schedule very accommodating. He always comes prepared and is very organised, making it easy for me to track my progress. He makes himself available if I ever have any questions and is very knowledgeable. He cares about your goals, and will help you achieve them. I highly recommend him. I am feeling great, definitely seeing and feeling results from the work outs I do with him. I needed someone to come to the house and had no idea where to begin looking so I took to the internet and landed on his website. The choices of those that will travel to you are few but one good one is all it takes, right?! This has been a five star experience so far!
What I really appreciated is that he takes the time to explain proper techniques. He also checks on me a few days later and continues to motivate me from afar especially with his Instagram stories. He is careful to ensure no Injuries occur but knows how to get me to next level.
He does a great job, is friendly and encouraging without being intimidating. He always adjusts every time when I feel the exercise isn't suitable for my situation at that moment.
Andy is incredibly helpful and encouraging, never judgmental, and just a really great person to be around. He challenged me without making me do anything I wasn't truly capable of doing. And afterwards I feel amazing!
