Like many people who have a wish to to learn French language, I was unsure where to find a suitable course until I contacted Ann at Simply French Yorkshire and joined one of her groups. She has so much experience and teaching ability with an enthusiastic style, it makes learning enjoyable and rewarding, in a relaxed freindly setting. Ann guides and encourages as she presents the well prepared course material with the use of teaching aids. I found the notes, together with an audio to practice pronunciation received following each lesson, a real benefit as homework. I can truly recommend learning with Ann to anyone, of all age groups, who might be a complete beginner or someone who is interested in improving their French language.

Ann's lessons are a delight to attend. She has a talent for engaging us all with her passion for all things French. She stretches and corrects us, with a unique ability to make us feel comfortable and bold enough to try, without any of the usual fear of being 'laughed at' or 'feeling stupid' when we get it wrong - which we often do! After a hard day at work, I find much fun, learning and delight in the Simply French experience.

Ann hosts us for an hour every week. She is an excellent tutor/mentor. She smiles and laughs a lot but when we get something wrong she puts us straight. Very straight. Nicely. This is just what I need. The sessions are varied in format, so each one is a new experience. Then we receive follow up notes relating to pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Ann puts a great deal of time and effort into preparing the sessions, and the reources to make them work. I commented on this recently, and she said that she loves doing it, and you can tell that she does. Also, I have made three new friends. When I first started with Ann we were in lockdown, so it was very nice to meet my new friends in person eventually. It's one of my favourite hours of each week and I'm looking forward very much to starting again in September. If you want to improve your French in an environment that is both friendly (and funny) and challenging, I recommend this. Sometimes Ann says "Bravo!", and I value my bravos.

Ann provides really engaging French lessons that are very enjoyable. She is an excellent tutor and mentor providing a fun learning environment with interesting and informative structured lessons that build knowledge from week to week. Students are encouraged to participate in lessons and French conversation without judgement but with clear and precise instruction. The lessons are followed up with vocabulary and grammar notes together with audio files to help with pronunciation. Lessons are presently being delivered on line very successfully. Excellent value for money and fun, it doesn't feel like a chore to learn. I would highly recommend Simply French Yorkshire.

Ann is passionate about France and the French language and is a gifted teacher. Her lessons are stimulating and positive with lots of laughter - a world away from what I (and possibly you) experienced at school. You never feel self conscious and the encouragement you receive for any contribution - however short and tentative - gives you the confidence to join in and keep on learning. Vocabulary is bang up to date and Ann's follow up notes are excellent. I've been trying to brush up my French for years and have tried many courses and tutors, but Simply French Yorkshire is easily the best.

The French lessons are a really enjoyable way to learn. They are well structured and each person has individual tuition time as well as working in pairs talking in French. Ann is strong on pronunciation and really encourages us to speak French plus we have lots of laughs while learning. Overall I highly recommend these lessons if you wish to improve your French especially your spoken French.

Ann is a true professional and her classes are well structured and very informative. She always knows when I am not understanding or if I need more information. We have fun too. Homework reflects the work we have done in class. Zoom has not affected our classes in fact it has added some depth to the classes. We are now confident enough to speak French more openly. In depth material is sent via email each week with additional work for those who want to do more. No pressure is ever put on us. The best ever way to learn French.

French sessions with Ann are always so fun and enjoyable! Even after a day at work, I always leave the lesson feeling happy and relaxed :) We cover so many different topics and learn a lot of vocabulary, as well as spending time on grammar and sentence / question formations. I thoroughly enjoy my weekly French lessons. The lessons have been a highlight for me during lockdown and zoom works really well. The lessons either in a group or individual are always fun and I feel I have made good progress over the last year. The content of the lessons are always well thought through and Ann is so well prepared and organised. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Ann and Simply French Yorkshire. Ann put me at ease from start to finish and I left the session remembering some French vocabulary and grammar rules (I started with zero French and a poor memory so I was exceptionally pleased!).
