I just came off a trail not even a week ago. Lovely staff. Food was ok. I have to give it to Wayne though. Such a lovely and attentive staff member, very good and gentle with bloods too

Just finished a 3 night study, fantastic staff going the extra mile to make you feel comfy and relaxed. Facilities where great ,it was my first study but hope to do another one again

I highly recommend Covance. Such a great team of staff from the recruiters, the screening, during the trial and the canteen staff. All amazing. I would ignore the negative reviews and try Covance for yourself. I never understand why people complain, your being paid for your time, to relax, unwind, be fed and looked after. Covance have to recruit more people than necessary because anything can happen on the day with your results so be prepared. There's lovely grounds to walk around and a good atmosphere. Will be returning as soon as a suitable trial becomes available. :-)

Great place with amazing staff, who make you feel very welcome.
Wayne is great guy and always makes time for all volunteers and I can always tell when it's his shift,as his laugh is infectious and lifts everyone's spirits, including his work colleagues.
I need to mention the kitchen staff aswel,as they take a lot of stick at time's, which is very wrong,as all volunteers are getting well paid to be here and in my opinion the food is very nice and free,so people should keep quiet and be more appreciative.(YOUR GETTING WELL PAID.)....
If you're invited in to do a clinical trial, then you should always turn up with the mind set that you may be a standby, then you won't be too disappointed if you're asked to leave the following day.(But come prepared to stay aswel.)
In my opinion it's completely understandable why covance need standbys,as people don't always show up and also bloods can sometimes be out or restrictions haven't been followed etc etc....
I would encourage anyone to come and take part in a clinical trial at covance, just make sure you come with the correct mindset.
I'll look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Excellent place, great staff and great payouts for the clinical trials. Honestly I was nervous as I read the reviews and was apprehensive, but I went through the trail as I didn't want to lose out at the very end. My experience was fantastic and I am looking forward to a second visit very soon. Would say the only downside is the meals, as you have to wait as meals are timed and can be spaced out, but that is in accordance with the studies. Plus side is that you can catch up on any work outstanding, resting and relaxing as this is encouraged.

I have done a couple of long trials now and I found the experience worth the payment received. Food is plentiful although serious Quorn overload if you are vegetarian. Staff are really great and I have had a good laugh with the other volunteers so not a bad experience at all.

Test with the best...indeed! Try yourself before being put off by these negative reviews....Been doing trials here since 2003....very friendly staff, decent food, not the highest pay but plenty of other company’s to try if that’s all your after. For me it’s convenient and local, my travel time is 30mins and I get £30 reimbursed, so pretty fair. I feel for the people who have had ‘bad’ experiences here but everything is explained and you are asked if you have any questions, you are being paid for your time and inconvenience, if your a standby that’s just how it goes, it’s recent practice now to have a number of standbys so just bare this in mind if you are desperate to get on a study and travelling far, the day you check in if you ask they will tell you if you are a standby, until dosing day it’s not set in stone that you will be dosed, even if you aren’t a standby...advice is never buy return travel tickets till you know your ON the study...I have been standby a handful of times, just have the attitude it just wasn’t meant to be...plenty other study’s will come up. This is explained at screening if you ask. Also meals are basic and you are asked if there is anything you can’t/won’t eat, so if your fussy don’t do a study! If I’m on a study I’ll eat what they give me, they are paying me! I would say I’d eat more but the portions are set and that’s what you get. Advice for newbies; pick a short stay and then you’ll have a good idea of how things run, then you can try a longer study...advice for while your on study; take a laptop/tablet & headphones, stick to your schedule timings, do as the staff ask, eat your food and don’t moan, be tolerant of others, simple. Also (not always but) if the study is short and the pay is high, there will be a lot of discomfort...I tend to go for a stay of around 20 nights with a couple or return visits, £4000 ish, simple easy study’s, there are usually quite a few of these study’s throughout the year, so easy enough to get on; also I’m self employed, which helps with time off and live local which makes this company my number one choice and have never had any cause to complain....highly recommend

I found covance to be a very nice team, you just need to adjust to the way things are done there, as you would at any new place. Volunteer trials are a very complex and one size will not fit all

Friendly team. Info about standby is very clear, despite some people complain... Fair is fair. They need more volunteers in case of no show or bad test results prior to testing.

Fantastic staff, caring and attentive to all of your needs. No issues, this was my first trial and will definitely return to try another.

I've been many times. The staff are most gentle. You can't even tell if Wayne has taken a blood sample. Very easy to find with a sat nav.
