Both Nathan and Paul have been really helpful. They squeezed me in last minute and answered all my questions really thoroughly. Felt really comfortable at the appointments as they were both lovely. Will definitely be coming back if I need any travel jabs in the future- thank you!

I called up earlier in the day to arrange a last minute vaccination (Yellow Fever). Dr. Crosskey even gave up his lunch break to ensure I was vaccinated ahead of a really important medical. He was patient, understand and wanted to help. Everything you expect from a doctor. I know if I ever need anything in the future, although I won't leave it too late, I'll be using this pharmacy again.

Really great efficient service. Booked Covid booster on-line and was straight in at allotted time and the nurse administering the booster fully explained process, very convenient location adjacent to Monkbar.

Vikki Brett…what a woman! Best vaccinator EVER. Came in for some last minute travel vaccines and she was SO helpful and knowledgeable and lovely. Gave us some fabulous advice and barely felt a thing when she jabbed me! Wish she could have come on holiday with us. Amazing lady. We will be back for our second doses and request Vikki and Vikki only.

Excellent service-from initial enquiry to anti-malaria tablets it was less than 1 week, far quicker than the GPs. The pharmacist was really helpful and gave us lots of options to choose from. He was incredibly clear on how and when to take them. I will definitely be returning for future travel advice and support.

On the two occasions I've had prescriptions filled with them, the customer service was second to none. One evening they stayed open 10 minutes late to make sure that they could dispense the correct drugs due to a last minute prescription change, and last week the lady in store helped with a late minute prescription on a Sunday afternoon. Fantastic service, great stock and a lovely pharmacy which I recommend to whoever is asking.

I was recommended Monkbar Pharmacy by my GP. I did my research and Monkbar Pharmacy was the cheapest travel clinic in the city. I was a bit apprehensive about getting travel vaccinations as I have a bit of needle phobia. My appointment was with Nathan who put me at ease instantly. I had two injections and didn't feel a thing. Nathan was super calming and informative. If you live in York and need travel vaccinations, you should totally go to Monkbar Pharmacy.

UPDATE - I am very pleased to amend my review for Monkbar Pharmacy. I have again started to use Monkbar Pharmacy and am more than happy with the changes they have made to ensure the safety of both staff and customers during this difficult time. During the first lockdown, they changed their entry system to just one person at a time. They have now undertaken extensive alterations to their premises to ensure both their staff and customers can safely utilise the pharmacy. The staff continue to be polite and helpful. It makes a pleasant change to know; and see first hand; that a community business has taken on board what their customers feel; and even went to the trouble of speaking with me over my concerns. Thank you. I have utilised Monkbar Pharmacy for many years and have been completely happy with the service and staff. Having said that, after picking up a prescription yesterday (the first during lockdown) and being completely shocked at the 2 'slots' which have been built to collect medication - these are no where near 2m apart and I will definately be using another pharmacy until this is rectified! This would work if only 1 person was allowed in this small space at a time! Very disappointed!

More compassionate and helpful than my GP. Everyone who works here is happy to chat and a few members of staff even know me by name. The staff are educated and can give out excellent advice, but will get a pharmacist to double check if it's beyond their scope. Excellent pharmacy.

The most friendly and accommodating staff with a large range of suppliers. No other pharmacy was able to fulfill my prescription (including several major stores) due to them having a single supplier who was unable to obtain specific brands of medication. Being independent and not tied to a particular supplier however, these wonderful people were only too happy and able to help. I would highly recommend them.

Great for travel vaccinations, especially for children. We went here to get additional travel jabs with our 3 year old. Nathan the pharmacist was wonderful at calming our daughter down with breathing exercises before giving her the vaccine. He even did impressive magic tricks to reward her bravery afterwards...and a wonderwoman "I've been brave sticker". This made it a more worthwhile experience in her eyes. For us, it was the most painfree injections we've ever had...and we've had lots of injections over the years! Couldn't recommend more. Thank you Nathan

Only allows 2 customers inside which is good for social distancing. They have reduced the size of the store inside due to covid but their service is still great and always extremely helpful.

they are very efficient. I am always happy to rely on their word when I order something, like coconut oil for example. They said they will get it the next day and they did. They are also very kind and I love this shop. I actually find many things they I dont find easy inn York, like all sorts of oils..that I use for my natural masks.

Shop small but friendly. During covid 19 they actually insist on delivery. Came morning after request. Friendly delivery driver. Really could not be better.
