Wow wow wow.. If you've made it this far looking for a wedding photogropher, look no further. Phil is THE best there is. Not only does Phil produce beautiful photos, each worthy of hanging in an art gallery, but he has the most kind, honest and pure of hearts. He is always more than happy to make sure that you feel comfortable on your special day. He's super friendly and easy to chat to when needed, but equally dissapears into the background when needed. I couldn't possibly reccomend Phil highly enough. If I could go back and do it all again (I wish!) I would choose Phil in a heart beat. Thank you Phil, for capturing so beautifully moments that we'll carry all the way through life.

My stepmother is a retired photographer, so when I got engaged, I went straight to her to ask for wedding photographer recommendations. Without hesitation she said “Phil is the best of the best!”, and she wasn’t wrong! It was a slightly bumpy journey leading up to our wedding day (thanks COVID), but after a change of wedding date and 2+ year delay, our wedding weekend was finally here! The night before the wedding we invited Phil over to our house for dinner so that we could meet in person and he could get to know myself, my husband and both of our families. We shared a night of laughter and really got to know what a great person Phil is. On the day of the wedding, Phil snapped some pics of both the bridal party and the groomsmen. He put everyone to ease, telling everyone to pretend he wasn’t there. He got some fantastic candid shots of us both getting ready, as well as a couple of posed photographs (and didn’t seem phased by my large group of 9 loud bridesmaids all talking and laughing). During our ceremony Phil was so stealthy - we never even noticed he was there - but sure enough, when we got our pictures back a few weeks later, he had captured everything perfectly. We loved Phil’s candid, documentary style photography which is what drew us to his work, but he also got the “obligatory family shots”. We had predetermined by email who would be photographed, which I’m very thankful for, as it kept the day running smoothly. Phil had everyone laughing hysterically from behind the camera, and was quick to get the important shots which was so important on such a scorching summer’s day. Phil truly is an artist and helped us find some beautiful areas around our wedding venue to take pictures, and managed to grab myself and my husband at just the right time to shoot the two of us in the beautiful evening sunset. We absolutely recommend Phil to anyone looking for a talented and artistic photographer who will be sure to keep guests laughing whilst capturing your big day. He was stealthy when he needed to be, and had us in hysterical laughter at other points in the day. He truly captured how much fun all the guests were having, and we love looking back at our photographs and reliving the day. We can’t thank him enough for all of his hard work. Thanks to him, we have some beautiful shots to remember one of the best day’s of our life.

Where to start with PbArtWorks.... The pictures speak for themselves. I have known of Phil's work for years as he is a family friend, so there was no debate on who we would choose when looking for a photographer to capture our day. Our pictures are everything we wanted and more! Phil captured some beautiful moments with our family and friends that we will cherish forever. It was so amazing to view the candid pictures after our day, it made us both emotional. As for the ''artsy fartsy'' photos (as we call them); STUNNING. So many friends of mine have commented on the lighting... I think the mood captured within PBArtWorks photography is like no other I have seen. The hard part now is choosing 'just' a few to frame . Then there is Phil as a person... chilled, friendly, calming. One thing ALL of our friends told us before our wedding was that the pictures were the ''worst bit of the day''. Phil was our wedding photographer not once but twice due to covid and he captured everything absolutely perfectly. From a lockdown wedding with masks to our full fairytale day the following year with all our family and friends. Every element of the day captured so beautifully. We have photos to treasure forever and also so many pictures of our children captured so naturally. Phil is such a genuinely lovely person and wasn’t intrusive or overbearing which I have seen other wedding photographers to be. About 4 weeks ago I was listening to a program on the radio about the impact and significance a photo can hold, the program was focusing on the capture of life changing events. With an incredible sense of timing my phone pinged - Phil has sent me one of the photos he had taken, showing my wife and new born daughter in an intimate embrace. Needless to say it moved me, particularly so considering what I listening to as it directed me to reflect on what I loved about this picture. Needless to say it was beautifully artistic – all of Phil’s shots are - But that wasn’t what moved me. On reflection, and with the radio still on in the background, I came to the realisation that it was what the photo showed that was moving to me. This phot was a window in to the relationship between my wife and my daughter – one of unconditional love and protection. It is precisely this ‘window’ that Phil has an uncanny ability to capture, the content of the moment. Phil has taken photos that represent four major events in my life; the birth of my beautiful little girl Chloe, the wonderful day that my wife and I said ‘I do’, our engagement photos prior to that and more soberly the last family gathering my family was to have with my father. I have many favourite photos from all of these events, but two photos spring to mind There is picture of my cousin at the family gathering holding a huge multi-coloured beach umbrella grinning from ear to ear and clearly having fun – I smile very time I see it. Not just because it’s a fun happy picture, I was there and I know that the reason he had that umbrella is because it was raining heavily and he was helping everyone get from the house to the Gazeebo – he was happy helping people, not ‘happy to help’ but happy because he was helping and having fun doing it. The picture captured him, or at least my view of him, perfectly on that day. The first print, from our wedding, that my wife and I put up on the wall was a shot Phil captured of us walking back up the street, I had put my jacked round her shoulders because it was raining (our family events have a theme!) we are just taking to each other smiling and laughing and we love it because for us it shows that ‘window’ in to our relationship. Phil is an incredibly talented artist, his photography is beautiful there are no doubts about that. What makes him particularity special is his ability to capture the sentiment in the room and the story behind the photograph, if you have been have been the subject of any of his work you will understand what I mean – if you haven’t ...book him and you will!

Where do I begin.....if you are looking for a photographer who can capture your special day in an artistic and beautiful set of photos then Phil is for you. From the very beginning when I initially contacted Phil he was fantastic. He was so easy to talk to and put me at ease straight away. He gave me all the information i needed and kept in contact from the time I booked him. During our wedding he was there to capture every moment (without me even realising). The attention to detail and artistic pictures were more than we could have hoped for. I could not have asked for anymore from a photographer. Phil captured every second of our special day. Phil has been incredible. He photographed someone I knew and I was so amazed by his images that I stopped looking for a photographer there and then. That was three and a half years before I got married, and a year before I got engaged. I booked him second to my venue and before the registrar's! When we first set out on our wedding planning expedition, we had a small budget in mind for a photographer in the mindset of ‘the guests will take photos anyway’. Then... we went to a wedding fayre for no other reason but to get the free Bucks Fizz. We weren’t looking to book anything, had nothing in mind that we wanted to look out for and certainly didn’t set out to find a photographer! As we made our way around the room we got to Phil with his photo albums set out.. We flicked through and I don’t think he had even spoken yet when I said I NEEDED him to do our wedding. we booked him later that night! The style of his photos were absolutely everything we didn’t realise we wanted, nothing too ‘posy’ just natural. Fast forward to the day. We had every ounce of trust in Phil to tell the story of our wedding, there was no ‘photo list’, I didn’t even feel the need to message him to be honest before the wedding because I just knew how professional he was and there was no need to! Me and my husband absolutely hate having our photos taken.. but Phil talked us through everything on the day and made us feel completely at ease and we didn’t awkward at all! All our guests also commented on how he literally didn’t stop all day and how they could tell how amazing the photos were going to be without even seeing them! We honestly cannot thank Phil for the beautiful photos he has given us. I’ve said so many times over the last 2 years I’ve been that I’ve been more excited to see the pictures than I was for the actual wedding 😂 The most talented man we’ve ever ever met! Book him for your wedding, I can assure you it will be the best decision you ever make!

I firmly believe that you should NEVER settle for '2nd best' when it comes to choosing your wedding photographer! After admiring our friends wedding pictures, and doing endless research, we met Phil at a wedding Fayre and was absolutely taken aback by his friendly and welcoming attitude; he clearly enjoys what he does! Needless to say, we booked him that day, for a year in advance! We asked Phil for an engagement shoot as my husband absolutely hated the idea of the typical 'staged shot'! We met up on a crisp autumn afternoon and within minutes phil made us feel at ease and relaxed in front of the camera! Smiles all round, and with the beautiful colours around, Phil captured it all! In the run up to the wedding we met/chat numerous times so Phil ensured he had a good grasp on how we wanted the day to flow, and visited the location in order to get a feel for place which was brilliant! On the day everything ran perfectly! Phil was seamless in ensuring he captured all the necessary shots as well as the perfectly natural ones as well! Phil was brilliant at keeping us on time, As well as finding the perfect times to scoot us away for a little 1-1! Wedding date 9.7.19, venue combermere abbey. It has just been over 2 months over our wedding, we have received our photographs in the past few weeks as promised by Phil, and we could not stop looking at it. The photos has been loved and shared by our family members. It has made its way into photo albums, phone home screens, desktop backgrounds, big wall posters. Phils photos are art ( I love taking photos myself too and do think he is an outstanding photographer amongst many we have compared to). He documents the day truthfully and artistically. Not only is the end product beautiful, Phil made the journey an enjoyable one too, he was very polite, and kind towards our guests. He captures the most natural, candid photos with minimal interruption; yet he is also able to cleverly and politely mobilise people into taking the many photos we want when it is needed, efficiently. He is not shy to ask if he feels there is a perfect opportunity for an excellent photo. Phil’s charismatic and friendly personality definitely help us and our guests relax, and smile naturally for the photos. His presence is very warmly welcomed by many. He did feel like a big part of our wedding as he was literally everywhere at the same time! Phil went above and beyond for us, he arrived on time, and stayed till very late at night. He made himself familiar of the site (comberemere abbey) by means of studying the site, and revisited his own previous experience of the venue prior to our big day. He made sure he is aware of what we wanted by having a meeting with us prior to the big day. We planned our wedding from Australia, he reassured us and it easy for us, he replies to our many emails on time , and demonstrated flexibility in accommodating us. I highly recommend Phil for his excellent artistic photos and professionalism , and have already recommended him to a few friends. You can trust him with your big day! He seems to have most dates booked up already for the next year, so be quick! 

We booked Phil 18 months before our big day after seeing his amazing work at a wedding fayer and from the first time we contacted him to the big day he was incredibly helpful not just with myself but also my mum who had lots of contact with him over email. We didn't actually meet Phil in person until till a few weeks before the wedding day but we instantly knew we had made the right decision all those months ago. So where do you begin?.......... from the start I guess. My now new husband proposed to me in only a way he would know how! covered in dirt and surrounded by mountains and a massively big dirty stinky landrover. Now my journey of finding the perfect photographer began, being quite keen on photography myself I was looking for someone specific. I looked belive me I looked. I looked though all my local photographers and (no offence but non of them cut it for me) Myself and Jase then went to a wedding fayre in ervirit hall and that’s where I found him! Phil Was cool, charming and the most exciting photographer I’d met in a long time! I instantly knew he was the one I wanted to capture our day! We talked, looked though his stunning work he gave us a card and off we went. I literally got to the car park and said to Jase..... that’s him I want him, please can we book him! That was it Phil was booked our wedding was planned nearly 2 years in advance so I had loads of time to sort out. We met with Phil to go over the packages and which one we would prefer (also had tea and biscuits) Phil included a pre wedding photo shoot so we knew what to expect on the day and he found us the most perfect spot - pistyll rheyder waterfall. It was amazing, the waterfall had frozen partly and it was just magical. Phil put as easy giving me banter about the rugby (with wales and England playing later that day, and I’m a huge wales fan!) the shoot was magical I will never forget it. Phil printed one of our pre wedding shoot photos onto canvas for people to sign on the wedding day. It turned out perfect, better then what I could of ever imagined. So to the day itself...... like every bride I was nervous I was the last having my hair and make up done and I felt a bit left out, only to realise it was because we wanted Phil to be there but we were all so early getting ready. Next minute Phil came in big smile on his face 3 cameras prepared and ready and off he went he was amazing. He pottered around taking in everything he knew would be perfect. Jase was outside cleaning my car and his dirty landrover which we had displayed as wedding cars on the grass. Phil took some amazing shots of these as we are besotted with our cars. When we got married our dog was beside us and Phil made sure he was in on the special photos. All me and Jase did on the day was laugh or cry happy tears and Phil captured it all from start to finish. I could not recommend Phil enough, everyone on the day was asking where did I find him he’s lovely and so kind and caring and amazing. My face painter was enquiring about her wedding and if he would be interested! From the bottom of my heart Phil Thank you! Thank you so so much, they are amazing I’m so glad we chose you and anyone who doesn’t it is there loss! If I could show the world my wedding photos I would as they have captured me and Jase to the tee. He did our pre wedding photoshoot in ellesmere which were beautiful and natural and captured exactly what we hoped for.
