Paul was brilliant at making us feel at ease in front of the camera and was very reassuring. We really benefited from having a pre-shoot. He was always quick to respond via email with any queries and very organised. On the day he was a fabulous part of our wedding, tactfully present capturing special moments but also allowing us space to enjoy the day. Paul is amazing. Firstly, leading up to our wedding communication was efficient and prompt. It might seem like an insignificant thing but when you're working with multiple suppliers having quick sensible answers to questions is very helpful. During the wedding, well what can I say. He had no issue pulling us to one side to get shots when he could see light conditions were at their best. We both really enjoyed his company and it was a pleasure to have him around. When it comes to wedding photography, there's a whole lot of average, and it's easy to make the wrong choice. With Paul we very quickly realised that his work was head and shoulders above anything we'd seen before. We drooled over his portfolio and hoped that we'd get something even half as good as the other weddings! We weren't disappointed at all - the shots we got back were insanely good!! Paul has a rare talent that manages to make family photos look like pieces of artwork! He knew exactly what he was doing with backgrounds and light and the end results absolutely blew us away. Choosing your wedding photographer is a very worrying thing, and it was exactly that for us. Dear reader - put your worries aside - Paul is a wonderful photographer, professional and absolutely gifted! My husband and I are very artistic and quality oriented, very critical of our own work and therefore of the work of others. We found Paul online and fell in love with his sense of composition, colour balance, portraits and positive energy that radiates from the photographs he made. Paul is an absolute delight to work with! He has managed to make us feel as though he completely disappeared, we did not notice him at all! The silent camera shutter was a great thing to use. First things first. If you’re looking for a professional, experienced photographer with an eye for detail and the ability to capture the emotion and spontaneity of an event, I will 100% recommend Paul From the outset, Paul was the epitome of professionalism. Before our wedding we met Paul for a pre-wedding shoot which allowed us to get to know one another and build rapport. It also introduced us to the style of Paul’s gentle yet experienced direction. It can be awkward if you’re not used to being in front of a camera but we were soon in the spirit of things and had some excellent shots from our trial shoot. On the day, Paul was there to capture all the little moments that neither of us had really thought about. Shoes. Cuff links. Hair. Flower arrangements. Table settings. Pre-ceremony nerves. After our ceremony Paul was a guiding light, leading us through the storm of people and giving us a few much-needed moments of calm in the chaos of a hundred excited guests. Throughout the rest of the day I barely noticed Paul. His style is that of a sniper; working from afar, documenting moments of natural laughter and emotion. Not once was anyone posed, no fake smiles, no uncomfortable moments. As an amateur photographer, I would have loved to have spent more time chatting with him, because it really opened my eyes as to just what it takes to be a pro. Upon quizzing our guests afterwards the sentiment was the same; no one felt awkward, pressured or uncomfortable. Everyone had fun and Paul was a fly on the wall capturing those special moments we didn’t get to see. Thank you Paul! The photojournalistic / editorial style of Paul’s photos is exactly the reason we chose him to document our wedding and the results were spectacular. The composition of every image is thought out. Lighting is used as a feature. Post processing is delicate yet adds significant impact. Paul has made it exceptionally easy to download the full photo set, and provides versions suitable for printing and sharing on social media; a big plus when all your guests are asking “when can we see the photos?!” All in all a fantastic day, captured by a talented photographer and we now have memories we’ll cherish forever. Paul is a fantastic photographer, but he is even more skilled at making you feel comfortable and in control when in his company. I first met Paul when my (now) wife took an interest in his work on-line, he had come recommend from a friend. We met at a mutual location and discussed our vision for the wedding. Paul was very understanding, but also drilled down into detail we hadn't thought of which made sure he had all the information he needed. This was followed by a "pre wedding" shoot. We were apprehensive at first, after the first five minutes this feeling disappeared and was replaced with fun and laughter. My Husband and I were looking for a photographer who was able to celebrate the beauty of place, particularly those from the natural world, but also able to have a great eye for capturing a candid moment, with a bit of humor thrown in. When we stumbled upon Paul’s work, we knew we had found just that. We also were assured by his slick operation, confirming he was not only an Artist, but one who has a head for organisation too – jackpot. We met Paul for a quick recce on Studland Beach. Instantly Paul put us both at ease quickly knowing we were feeling quite out of our comfort zone… the decision to dress up more than our normal beach attire did not help this! We soon relaxed in and within 15 minutes of meeting Paul, we had a big smile and lots of beautiful shots; taking any concern about the wedding day photos away immediately. The wedding day arrives; it’s fast and the last thing you need is someone who is uncomfortable with “just going with it” or a stickler for time and formalities. This is why Paul is perfect for a wedding where the couple wants a journalistic approach to their photos, which isn’t too rigid or posed. Paul really captures a day with all its nuances, rather than a static tick list approach – so although we got some lovely formal shots, we also have a full documentary of the day, capturing so many candid shots both charming and comical, which after the whole event is over – really feel like we have kept some part of the magic of it all alive and we will continue to enjoy them forever. Finally, Paul has been more than accommodating with our slightly delayed responses and worked very well with the, for want of a better word, “ other suppliers” on the wedding day – which is an important point, as you do “vibe” off your immediate “tribe” on the day. We just cannot stop looking at them. The way you have captured emotions, not just ours but of our guests too. To be able to see things that we didn’t see ourselves on the day. From the behind the scenes getting ready of us all, the excitement of everyone arriving at the church, all the way through to the party at the end. We cannot thank you enough for the hard work you put in. Nothing was too much for you, you were flexible and followed our lead of how we wanted our photos taken (adding in some direction to create those perfect images!) We loved how well you got along with everyone on our day also, we’ve had so many of ours guests tell us how much they enjoyed having their photos taken and how much fun you made that experience! If you are looking for a fun but professional photographer who makes you feel at ease and relaxed around then we couldn’t recommend Paul enough. But also the quality of his work is fantastic.
