Have used for school photos for many years. Service is always professional and helpful, images are of high quality. Ordering online literally only take two minutes when using school photo registration card, when you already have an account. Once had an issue where correct number of frames had not been included. Contacted Vancols and they supplied them asap with apologies. Impressed with their customer service response. Highly recommend them.

Nice photos and decent value pack offers. The one thing that would make me give 5* is an option to combine different pictures for the smaller pack or even the photos with the stand. It might not be necessary to have so many of the same photos but a mix of the 4 different photos taken on my son would be a better value for a parent.

I found the checkout image confusing, you select a single photo option, but in the basket it shows the single picture format but with both the individual and group photos, not the single selected photo. In the digital age, surely you should offer a Mounted + Digital option, so you have a picture on display for the year and a digital version for ever, without paying nearly double the price were you to order them separately. I'm sure if Mounted + Digital was discounted to say 50% for the digital element, you'd get more takers.

The website is easy to navigate and everything is clear. However, the photos are ridiculously expensive for what they are, one 10x7 photo is £18, how can you justify these prices? A childs school photo is a precious snap shot in time, that a lot families like to treasure, charging these prices is absurd.

Lovely photo of our son. Is it possible to buy just the one photo, not the gift or packs- just one, either large (A4) or medium would be nice. We don’t have a printer so our only option was the digital and asking a relative to print it for us.

Very helpful and professional. I had an issue with my son’s collar in the picture as one was tucked in and the other left out which the photographer didn’t bother to address. But I messaged them and they fixed it super quick with no hassle. The packs and prices are good value for money, but obviously they are encouraging you to spend that little bit more as their smaller packs are only a little bit cheaper. Overall I’m happy!

Pictures and gadget-like products are all of a very good standard. Vancols is a very reliable business but, what promped me to leave a review is their excellent customer service. I once ordered, among other things, a snow globe to be delivered to the school. For some reason my daughter was absent for the week and when she got back and collected her items, the base of the globe was shuttered. I was very reluctant to call them at first because it would have been a very hard thing to prove but, when I did, the most lovely woman (I, unfortunately, don't know her name) answered me and readly sent, free of charges, a replacement delivered directly to me. I really appreciated the empathy and kindness of that lady and still today I can't help but feeling thankful. I would definitely recommend Vancols Photographers to anyone. Thank you again.

Every year the photo looks like a cut out. However, I always purchase one as part of my child's memories. It also lacks any information. Every school photo I have ever seen has a board at the feet of the children, with the school name, the class level and the year. The 4 class photos I have purchased from Vancols do not. I have to write it behind the photo. Very bland.

Website was difficult to navigate around and I wasn’t able to locate my child’s ‘unique code’ once logged as they’d lost the sheet they’d been given. Good to chose from 3 different photos & crop the best one. A simple choice of buying a single photo in a variety of sizes would be good rather than buying 4-5 of the same photo, I know there is the 10x7 option.

Very friendly and patient service. Considering it was for my very active , curious and not very cooperative toddler. I was very pleased with the results. Wasn't expecting any "good" photos but they managed to get some lovely ones . Thankyou very much. Aswel as now being all digital was quick to process and view on line. Just wish they weren't as expensive as they are and there was a choice of option to choose the size of photos you exactly want in a pack.

We previously had class photographs that we were happy with. Good service but we wish you offered more flexible packs. We did not chose any of the packs as they were either too many of sizes/formats we didn't need or the combination of them just wasn't what we needed. Maybe a discount for download of two or more photos from the same term would be helpful as we couldn't decide and just wanted to download three or four of the shots. It would just come to too much money. Please consider giving us more flexible option like combining different shots, choosing number of photos of particular format and ditching the mounts! (and maybe ensuring the child's face is not covered by random streaks of hair though understandably this is quite difficult with small children :)

The photo quality is great, the editing/crop process is very handy but my criticism lies with the options. They are geared towards multi buys, which, if you don't have a big family and you only want a couple of pictures the price is quite high. Also with the lesser options you don't get the digital download. There should be an option to mix and match or make up your own package therefore I give this site 3 stars. Disappointed

When having a tidy up I found some old proofs of photos from many years ago that we didn't have the cash to buy at the time. When I called Vancols they were so incredibly helpful and had retrieved the images from archive that same day. Excellent customer service from Mary.

My sons school have used Vancols for the last few years and I am happy with the pictures. My only suggestion would be adding a pack with more standard sized pics such as 7x5/6x4 rather than the large 10x7s that seem to be in most pack options. I know a few parents would also prefer a white background rather than blue but I think they are always lovely pictures!

I'm so sorry but I'm gonna have to give 3 stars for now. My son's photos were all lovely and he really looked so cute and adorable. But, the only problem is that the photos really cost a lot and I feel so sorry for those families who cannot afford their children's photos and has no money to pay for it. I think it is not fair because I'm certain that most parents would want to order their children's photos. The affordability of the photos is ridiculous and unaffordable. Even with a discount, it is still unaffordable. I am also aware that we can choose a photo to be downloaded and printed by ourselves, but even one single photo is still expensive.

Many lovely shots to choose from, however, whenever I look at the photos taken in the 3 last sessions I cannot stop asking myself why they could not spend a few seconds to correct my son's fringe and collar before taking photos or, if this is not possible due to a policy, then at least ask him to do so. Echoing other reviewer, I would also appreciate a package with a set of 3 standard photos for myself and both grandparents.

I love how they take a few photos so you can choose which one is best for you. It’s just a shame that they don’t switch things up abit at times as I’ve seen other schools use owls or other birds in their photos. I love how different they are. I don’t really want to buy similar photos every few months. Very good quality though. Would highly recommend.

Portrait Photos are nice enough, with good colours, with a white background. Annoying policies around group digital photos (can't buy for ~6 months), and very expensive for digital downloads (they give "extra" copies for larger orders which makes no sense). Website is a bit confusing and glitchy but seems to work okay once you work it out. It's all just about "fine" I guess, if you can stomach the prices that is.

Prices are extortionate for digital download and £17 for one 10x7" photo - you can buy same size with frame included for £14.95, except there is a minimum £15 spend required to take that option!!

Lovely photos but I have a daughter in the infants school and son in the senior school, they were able to have a joint photo but when it came to ordering prints there were different packs available for each child and I could not add my eldest child’s photo added for the family mix and match. The new website seems to be having some serious teething problems. The pictures have always been expensive and the digital image in particular, feels over priced. However, the quality of images in the past has always been good. We haven't yet received this year's one but it was incredibly difficult to make the order. Yesterday, there was a power cut, so fair play, it didn't work. Today, all is supposed to be up and running and we got a message telling us that the pictures were ready for viewing and purchasing. The website kept on freezing, at one point it wasn't even allowing the selection of an option to pay. Look at how this final confirmation came up too... you really need a word with your web hosts/designer.

I often dislike the photos that they take of my children and it makes me angry that the children bring them home asking for me to buy them. HOWEVER, this time when I called, I had a SUPER nice lady named Belinda Bond who looked through all my child's photos and then had one cropped so that it looked nice and made me very satisfied by the photo quality this time. She was empathetic and honest and made a huge effort and came up with great results. Van Cols are lucky to have her.
