I was really emotional during my pregnancy, I thought I needed something to cheer me up and decided to go for the maternity mini section. I am so glad that I stumbled across Armand photography, Armand showed me so much kindness and understanding. Absolutely brilliant experience with Armands. My husband & I attended with our three week old son. The experience surpassed my expectations. I anticipated it would be stressful but Armands is so lovely and just put us all at ease. He was confident & kind with our son & was able to read him really well knowing when he needed a break to feed. He was so relaxed about the pee/Pooh/vomit accidents that inevitably occurred. We cannot recommend A-fotography enough! Armands was our wedding photographer 5 years ago and he did a fantastic job then, so we returned to him to do a newborn photoshoot for our little boy. He captured lots of beautiful photos of him, as well as family photos including myself, husband and our 2 year old daughter. I was organizing a weekend in Scotland to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary, with my husband. I wanted to keep memories of this trip. So I looked for a photographer to immortalize this moment. I chose Armands on the internet for his passion for photographing couples and their love. And I was not disappointed. Already, he has shown flawless adaptability, agreeing to modify the appointment 3 times to meet our constraints and the weather. Then, he knew my inglish was not very god, so he tried to speak slowly and with easy words. I appreciated that. After, he was able to put us at ease, with a lot of humor. We had a very pleasant time. He even acted as tour guide for us. The photos are beautiful. Not only because of the decor but because they are spontaneous. They really reflect our personality and our complicity. Could not recommend Armands enough, he made booking the right photoshoot for my newborn and 5 year old son so simple. He provided lots of information via phone call and text to prepare for the photoshoot, he was super flexible booking us in for the newborn mini shoot with my son being slightly jaundice he kept in touch to book in the right date for us as a family to get the best results. If you fancy getting professional pictures taken of your little one we can highly recommend A-Fotografy in Meadowbank. After one conversation I got all the info I wanted, especially with the pricing Armands was very transparent. He was great with our son, too. He calmed him down very well and we felt very comfortable in his well-equipped Studio. The session took only an hour which is enough for a little baby of 3 weeks, I think. Armands has a lot experience and knew exactly what he was doing, how to position our baby and us, too, to get the perfect results. I am so happy with the results. I did so much research before our little one was born and could not find anyone who was offering a short photoshooting for a reasonable price. Then I got A-Fotography recommended by another mum. We got the photos on the same evening via Dropbox, speediest delivery of professional photos in my whole life. We’re more than pleased and got exactly what hat we wanted. Our family and friends love the photographs, too :)

My husband and I were delighted with the photos that Armands took of our 3 month old daughter yesterday. We went for a mini baby shoot at his studio and would highly recommend the whole experience. Clear and timely communication before and after the shoot. Studio easy to find with ample parking. Armands is unsurprisingly great with babies but also put us at ease - we did not feel rushed despite booking a short session and his studio is expertly set up for feeding, changing nappies and outfits mid-shoot. He was very creative and incorporated some of our props and ideas into the pictures. Most importantly - the photos are amazing. We will definitely come back when out daughter is a bit older!

From the moment you walk into the studio you are put at ease by Armand and his obvious experience and friendly manner. I took my three children for a mini session to get a few images of our newborn and his siblings. Armand spent time going over my expectations and thoughts on how the images should look. I felt like I had a good idea of what the final image style would be. We also spent time choosing colours and props. During the newborn shoot time, Armand was gentle and confident positioning my (very awake) little boy and wasn't afraid to try something else if what he'd planned wasn't happening. When it was time for my older children (3 & 5) to join us they were happy and mostly did as they were asked with his clear instructions and patience. Once the photo session was complete I was able to feed my baby whilst the pictures were narrowed down to the best selection. Then I was able to sit and choose my own favourites. There is no hard sell. Armand was happy to work to the budget I had set myself, although I did go over (too many lovely pictures to choose from!). I cannot recommend a-fotography highly enough. We will definitely be returning in the future many more times.

Armands was great! We took our 3 week old boy along for a mini newborn shoot and are delighted with the pictures that we received. The studio is perfectly equipped for babies - heaters, white noise machine, vibrating bed - it kept our little boy happy enough for Armands to get so many amazing shots, with no crying and no accidents. We booked Armands for our Wedding photography back in February. I asked my friend who is also an Edinburgh based photographer, who she would choose for her wedding and she recommended Armands without a second thought. Armands is so friendly and welcoming, it's hard not to naturally smile for his photographs. His photography style is more natural rather than posed and most of the time I forgot he was there. We planned everything on the initial meeting a few weeks before the wedding which meant that the day went like clockwork and we got maximum time with our guests. Despite only meeting him once before, he makes you feel so comfortable in his company. The photo's turned out amazing, we were blown away. I usually feel, and therefore look very awkward in photographs but he managed to capture the day perfectly. As you'd expect, he is an absolute natural with kids, I was so surprised how quickly my 1 year old daughter warmed to him which massively helped in getting beautiful photos of her. Lastly, Armands took our budget into account and came up with a few photo album options that we could choose from. We're so happy with the results. Armands - it was a pleasure!

We visited Armands for a newborn photoshoot and are absolutely thrilled with the final result! We had been to another well known photography studio in the Meadowbank area and were so disappointed with the service, the photos and the costs that we opted to have a photoshoot redone elsewhere and we are so happy we came here. From the moment we arrived Armands was well prepared and we trusted him with our newborn. He handled her carefully and with confidence, and also taught us a few things as first time parents about ways to hold her and kept her settled for most of the photoshoot- an added bonus! Armands took the time to create a plan about what photos we would like, picked colors and poses and allowed for breaks to feed and settle so we never felt rushed or stressed at any point. The final product was perfect and the photoshoot was so much fun- not an easy feat to be out of the house for so long with a newborn but Armands made it so easy and time went quickly. The price point is great and I really liked that we could purchase all the photos in full resolution and own them completely- they are not being held or archived by a company for later use. I cannot reccomend Armands enough and left the studio happy with the experience and the final product and will definitely be a returning customer.

We weren’t too sure whether we wanted a newborn shoot for our little girl so had opted for the mini newborn shoot. We decided a little last minute so our little one was 4 weeks old for her images and Armands was accommodating at fitting us in for our session. We were unsure how much we would get out of the shoot as we weren’t too sure of the kind of images we wanted and were uncertain about how the baby would react to the process. Armands was welcoming, professional and put us completely at ease. He was helpful in exploring what we wanted and the typical images he would try to achieve during a newborn shoot. He was great with our 4 week old and kept her calm and relaxed during the session. His experience and passion for what he does was evident from the start and the images he captured completely exceeded our expectations. I was keen to get photos taken of my bump as I was pregnant with twins and really wanted a record of this special time in my life but had experienced such sickness and nausea during pregnancy I just couldn't face looking into it. As time went on I looked into getting newborn photos taken as well and then found A-Fotografy and saw the beautiful maternity photos Armands has produced and loved the way he used light and shape to portray women in an elegant, creative way when they are at there most delicate / fragile / vulnerable and feeling anything like getting photos taken. I just wanted to look and feel beautiful in at least 1 photo covering the last 9 months. We had left it quite late (35 weeks) to get photos taken due to the way I had been feeling but Armands was still able to squeeze us in which I was very pleased about especially considering it was Christmas time. The whole experience was very positive. Armands was quick at responding by email to answer all my questions and explained the different price options and packages available to me. I then picked out a few poses from his gallery and he told me what to buy regarding underwear and where to get it and what to bring on the day. When we arrived on the day we talked through what shots we would do and in which order. There was a lovely selection of maternity gowns and materials to try on and we just had to decide if he would shoot in dark or light tones. My husband was valuable on the day to assist Armands in such things as sorting my hair and helping me into each outfit. I chose Armands and A-Fotografy as we loved all the different galleries of photos available to get ideas from and the information available on his website was very useful. He also suggested pinterest boards which had been made up. It was his style of photography I was most drawn to as there were some very striking creative images that I was attracted to and dreamt I could look like. I was keen to get to the day of the shoot as soon as possible as knew twins could come early and didn't want to miss out on getting photos taken. I knew the kind of photos we would be doing on the day but was a bit apprehensive about being seen wearing some of the outfits. Armands soon put me at ease and told me exactly what underwear to wear for each shot e.g. light or dark in colour. There is a separate room to change in and my husband was able to help me into the different dresses. Armands had a heater on so no need to worry about getting cold on the day. We returned a week later to see the selection of photos Armands had narrowed down and edited for us. I was praying there would be hopefully at least 1 decent shot of me. I needn't have worried as Armands had made our job very difficult. I was so happy there were some stunning shots that looked even better than I could have imagined. This did not make our job very easy. Luckily he was very helpful in narrowing down the choices as we are not good at making decisions. We picked out 1 photo of both of us in the selection too. We really look forward to seeing what Armands will do creatively with the baby photo's but don't doubt he will do an amazing job. Looking forward to seeing our little babies faces as they were always a bit camera shy on scan photos and seeing their individual personalities develop and how their own special relationship with each other will flourish. I would recommend anyone to get maternity photos taken to record this special journey in their life and would highly recommend Armands. You might regret not getting them done!

Our experience with Armands in the newborn session was fantastic! We booked our session when I was 7 months pregnant and the communication and our first meeting was easy and he answers all our questions and worries about a shooting with a little baby. We have to choose some poses before the session, so it was good for us to think about the type of photographs we wanted and the colour range (light or dark backgrounds, etc). When our baby was born Armands was quite flexible with the shooting date, we had the session when the baby was 8 days old. For the session he provides a lot of proms, and everything you could need for great pics. Our baby wasn´t completely settled and he cried and moved a lot during the session! Armands was quite good handling the baby and after some feeds he managed to take great shoots of our baby. Armands and her assistant did a great job and made us feeling great during the morning we spent in the studio. Only 6 days later we met again to see the photos and all the shoots were gorgeous! We got the digital package + album with 34 shoots. The final product is not cheap but 100% worthwhile when you see the amazing photographs of your little one! I would highly recommend Armands for newborn photo shoot if you are looking for high quality pictures and the best atmosphere for you and you baby.

We did the maternity (studio) and newborn photo shoot (baby 2 weeks old) at our house with Armands, and I couldn’t recommend him enough! He was extremely professional, friendly and helpful, and completely went that extra mile to get amazing photos. The photos are amazing and a lovely reminder of these special moments. He was also extremely accommodating given we asked for our cat to be in the home photo shoot! Overall a lovely experience, I will continue to use him for future pictures to capture all our families special moments. In addition to this he is extremely good with newborn babies, we now call him the baby whisperer in our house!

I was keen to get some photos of our baby while they were young and came across A-Fotografy after a google search. I was drawn to this company when i saw the quality of the work on Armand's website, and the volume of positive reviews from many happy customers! I enquired to find out a little bit more about his approach and found him to be very responsive. He provided me with the details I needed, along with information about what to expect from his sessions. When my son was born I informed him and he soon gave us a date to come in with him for his photos. He sent across all the information of what we needed to do to prepare for the session and how to find the studio. I decided to go for the mini session as the package looked good and didn't last too long. Once there, we sat down and decided what type of photos we wanted. Armand was very helpful here, and he has so much knowledge! We were there for about an hour until sitting down and selecting our photos from a lovely range. In terms of the actual shoot, Armand truely is the baby whisperer! Our son was relaxed and happy throughout, and Armand gets such a good reaction in a very calm, understated way. We even got some burping tops thrown in, which arent advertised on the website!! I would definately recommend, and already have to a few of my friends. The service was professional and friendly. After seeing one of Armands photos when I was pregnant I knew then I had to have him do our new born shoot.l contacted Armands and told him what photos I would have liked done he asked me to send around ten photos I liked so he had an idea of what I liked. We decided to go as a family and to take our daughter along who is 11 and at a funny age. Apon arriving he took our new born son 3 weeks old and gave him his bottle and was really bonding with him straight away the studio was really warm there was no way our son was going to be cold during the shoot . Armands made us all feel very welcome and at ease as we were all a bit camera shy. My partner couldn’t get the day off but was able to pop in for an hour so he Coul have the family photo done and some on his own with our son Armands made sure he done these photos right away so my partner didn’t feel under pressure about getting back to work. The whole photo shoot went awesome we loved. My daughter got to help out taking photos too she loved it. Armands definitely goes the extra mile when it comes to his work nothing is out his depth. One week later we went to see the photos at the studio and feel in love with them all be PERPARED. Armands helped up plan where our new photos would go in our house and designed the lay out. Maternity Photo Shoot Having a maternity shoot wasn't something we had initially considered when we found out we were expecting. However, after seeing the pictures of the maternity session our friends did with Armands, we were blown away by the quality of the images, and knew we wanted something similar. We met with Armands prior to the shoot to discuss what we wanted, and we were instantly put at ease with his friendly nature and enthusiasm. He asked us to choose from the selection of maternity photos on his website in order to tailor our session - narrowing the selection down to just a few photos is very difficult! Although I have had photoshoots before, I was a little unsure what to expect with showing off my bump, and was concerned about whether I would feel comfortable in some of the poses. However, Armands was so professional and easy to work with that I soon forgot about any worries. He gave great guidance about how to stand, and made everything seem so easy. There was a good range of outfits and materials to use in the photos, which Armands can work wonders with! It was also a lovely touch that he put my husband to good use as an assistant, arranging the materials and my hair as needed (guided by Armands). We both thought it was a really good way for him to feel involved (as by definition most of the photos were focused on me). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during the shoot! We have just been to see the final images, and they are truly stunning. The use of lighting and floaty materials creates some absolutely beautiful shots - I was amazed it was actually me in them! We will treasure them as a wonderful way to look back on what has been such a special time for us. We would not hesitate to recommend Armands to anyone looking for a way to record what is an incredibly memorable time. We have already booked a newborn shoot for when our little one arrives, which, following such a great experience at the maternity shoot, we are very excited about!

We were looking for a good photographer to take pictures of our newborn and we were lucky to find Armands/ A Photography. We contacted him and got an appointment for a mini session within 2 days. My wife and I hadn't intended to get professional newborn photos of our son taken before he was born, however, despite all the pictures taken of him in his first few days by us, family and friends, we decided that it would be a really nice keepsake to get some professional newborn shots done. After searching for the local options available, my wife came upon 'A-Fotography,' and was immediately amazed by the quality and artistic nature of Armands' portfolio of pictures on the website. She then got in touch with Armands, who talked her through, step-by-step, how the photo shoot would work, especially given that it would be involving a newborn baby. Armands was very clear in how things would work and allowed enough time to get the variety of shots we wanted, using the portfolio on his website as a guide. When we arrived for the photo shoot, Armands immediately put us at ease and talked us through how the session would go (whether baby was settled or not). We were really impressed at how good he was at both calming our baby and handling him. He also allowed us to chose from a variety of fabrics, colours and props from his studio, so that we could get exactly the type of photos we wanted. At all times the focus was on the well being of baby and we even managed to pick up a few tips from Armands in terms of positions for burping him and helping him get back to sleep etc! We left the photo shoot feeling delighted with both the patient and calming nature of Armands and the relaxed process in which the session was conducted (allowing for feeds, nappy changes etc). Armands was able to turn around our photos and invite us back in to view them on the projector in his studio within a week. We were delighted with the pictures - both in terms of the amazing use of light and the expressions he managed to capture on our baby's face. He talked through our options in terms of what selection of the digital images we wanted or if we wanted to combine the digital images with one or more products (album, canvass etc). Armands wasn't pushy and there was a decent variety of combinations available to choose from. Overall - a very enjoyable experience with a very talented photographer with a high quality end product we will treasure.

After seeing our friends newborn photoshoot with Armands we knew it was something that we wanted to have done when our baby was born. We spoke with our friends who spoke highly of their experience and showed us their lovely photographs. We quickly contacted Armands to ensure we would be able to have a newborn shoot done in the first few weeks of birth. Armands was extremely helpful from our first contact with him and gave us lots of options for our photoshoot. On the birth of our child we contacted Armands who booked us in and gave us lots of instructions and helpful tips on what to bring for the day. We met with Armands for a newborn photo session last week. This was our second session with a-fotografy, our first was a newborn shoot 2 1/2 years ago. We decided to capture our first daughter in this way after seeing Armands advert at a scanning studio, and we were not disappointed. A special moment in our lives had to be captured and sweetly preserved and this was ideal! We were given a warm, relaxed welcome at his studio in Edinburgh. His assistant, Mitra, handled our baby so well, keeping her calm and relaxed while Armands snapped away with some incredible photos, and clever poses. We had a viewing where he helped us to choose our favourite photos, not an easy task as they were all amazing!! We chose a digital package, meaning we could share them with family and print as we needed. The cost was very reasonable, and we also took a canvas print of one of the images. We now have all of the images framed so we can see them every day, he really captured our baby perfectly! When we were expecting our second child, another daughter, we knew we had to repeat this experience. Once again, we were thrilled with the shoot. It was a little different this time as we had sibling photos and family portraits included, but the relaxed, comfortable environment was just as lovely, with an element of fun added with the older one! Armands and Mitra are amazing with children, and my older daughter (2 1/2) loved a game of hide and seek with Armands to keep her occupied!! Nothing was a hassle, and we had amazing photos to view a few days later via skype (viewing is more difficult with 2 kids in the studio for us!) Again, Armands gave us great guidance on which photos to choose for our final selection. If youre looking for a friendly, talented, professional photographer and a precious way to cherish your babies in the early moments, this is the place to go. We had an excellent experience getting photos of our newborn baby girl and her big sister and us all as a new family. We chose a mini session and it was very relaxed and quick which was ideal for us all. Armands made us all feel relaxed, had a very good way of getting our 2 year old to engage with the photos and the end result were very very pleasing with big smiles and beautiful shots of our newborn too. Can't speak highly enough of this experience. The shoot was done very efficiently and smoothly and there was minimum of fuss. Armands comes across as a really nice and genuine guy. I had some concerns beforehand as i had done a shoot with my first born with a different photographer which resulted in lovely images too but it was pretty time consuming and would have been a bit of an ordeal with a toddler in tow also. The mini shoot with Armando allowed us to get beautiful images and choose them during the session and our toddler was entertained with her new surroundings for the short time we were there. OUR SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IN JULY 2019 A review: For this special occasion we had planned a trip with our three children (Alina 23, Matthias 22 and Jonathan 10 years old ) to Edinburgh, Scotland...the place and the country that we love so much. We quickly realized we wanted a beautiful and lasting memory – no selfies ! The search for a photographer began... We researched on the internet because there was no other possibility for us from Germany...but at least just this possibility ! We found some photo studios in Edinburgh, of course. Some were appealing others not. How should we decide from afar which photographer suits best ? Finally we found the website of „A-Fotografy“ and a photographer named Armands Sprogis. How lucky we were ! We studied his website with great interest. We read about his work ( his „art“ !!!) saw his photo gallery and then a video as he works, too. I got goosebumps...Armands photographs how I feel !!! We knew immediately: Armands should photograph us !!! I wrote a first e-mail and asked him if that was possible. To my surprise he answered very quickly and very nicely. There followed a lively and very friendly exchange of e-mails. When my husband Jürgen, our youngest son Jonathan and I spontaneously traveled to Edinburgh for a few days last autumn break we could meet Armands in his photo studio. It was such a warm welcome and Armands took a lot of time to answer all our questions. A very pleasant atmosphere ! He gave us useful tips and suggestions along the way and...Armands promised to photograph us ! We were so excited and so happy...HURRAY !!! Until our big day we were in regular contact by e-mail. Armands always took time for all our questions. He gave us this good feeling of trusting him from the beginning – and so we did ! Then our photo shoot moved closer in July 2019. Armands kept available for our photo shoot on two days and he left the decision to us when and where to start ! As arranged we met at the cannon on Calton Hill. And then it started... From the beginning, we all felt very well in front of Armand`s camera. He has such a friendly and relaxed manner at the same time he was very attentive and made us look good – we could trust him right away ! Our second location was Arthur`s Seat same day. Armands had a dressing room for us and we could change our outfits...he thought of everything...he`s a professional ! Armands took so many different pictures of us and altough the photo shoot took three hours it did not seem that long. We laughed so much together. It was just great ! So much fun ! We were so enthusiastic and still are ! After the photo shoot we returned to the photo studio. We picked an album for ourselves and discussed how we will go on. Thank you for this beautiful day, Armands ! As promised he sent us a selection of photos as a download a short timer later. WOW !!! 120 photos...and one more beautiful than the other !!! Now we had the ordeal of choice which photos should we take for our album ??? A nearly impossible task for us...but we made it ! We chose 73 photos for the album, finally. Crazy ! Armands immediately started to work and designed the album for us. He considered all our wishes. The album was sent home after a few weeks. AMAZING...our joy was enormous !!! Armands has far exceeded all our expectations and hopes of this photo shoot on the occasion of our silver wedding aniversary ! Our family and friends are enthusiastic about the album. We can`t thank Armands enough for what he did and still is doing ! There`s always a good reason to travel to Scotland ! We chose A-Fotography through recommendations from friends, who had used Armands for their newborn baby photos. I was unsure whether to book the mini session or full package, so Armands sent me though details of both. We decided on the 1 hour mini session as it was more in-line with our budget and as it was our first experience of any professional photography. We maintained communication with Armands up until the date of our newborn session. He came across as just as excited about the birth of our little boy as we were! Upon meeting Armands we were instantly relaxed and our baby boy Rowan took to him immediately. This put my partner and I at ease and we felt comfortable with him taking the lead with our baby boy. We actually called him the 'baby whisperer'! We discussed all the photo options available to us and he offered us advice on what he would recommend as the best use of our time. Although the session was booked for an hour, Armands factored in extra time for us to feed and comfort our baby between shoots, and it was not an issue that the time ran over. After the shoot, we all sat down and looked at all the photos that had been taken and found it extremely difficult to whittle it down to a select few! We were even more impressed that we received our baby photos that same evening. The aftercare was also exceptional, with Armands ensuring we were pleased with our photos and touching up small details that we were being very fussy about! The whole experience was relaxed, fun and most importantly baby Rowan loved all the attention too. Armands helped us achieve the photos we dreamed of, which we can now cherish forever. We had our photoshoot last week while our baby was 10 days old. Armands is "The Baby Whisperer" and we were very impressed with how well he handled our baby and we made sure to watch him carefully for tips! Obviously having 3 children of his own has given him plenty of experience with newborns. From the minute we walked in Armands was very welcoming and friendly. The studio was very warm with heaters blowing to ensure the room was very toasty for naked baby photos. We booked the mini photoshoot which should have taken approx 1hr but ended up taking us 3 as we had a gurny baby and wasn't always easy to settle. Armands however knew exactly what to do to settle him and was very patient. It was recommended we take a dummy but as our baby was only 10 days old and I have never been keen on dummies - we didn't take one. We had wished we had taken one in the end as this would have settled him better and would have saved a lot of time, my husband ended up going across the street to Boots chemist to get one and it was a life saver. Armands also recommended taking a spare change of clothes for ourselves in case of accidents. It was good that Armands also had a change of clothes with him as our baby ended up doing a number 2 all down Armands shirt! He handled it very well and says it happens all the time. The photos are absolutely beautiful and Armands is a perfectionist. Even though we booked an hour session Armands took his time to get he photos just right and it took 3 hours in total, Armands was not phased that we had a gurny baby and was so patient and made sure he got the perfect photos. We were very comfortable with Armands handling our baby and would recommend him to anyone. We will use him again ourselves in the future for other family photos. P.S bring a dummy and expect to be there longer than an hr even if you have only booked an hour. Armands will keep you there until the pics are perfect. We had a newborn photo shoot done at A-Fotography and I cannot recommend highly enough! From the moment I enquired about an appointment, the communication from Armands was amazing and this continued through to the point that we received our prints and CD images. On arrival at Armands studio, his assistant (who was formally a midwife, which gave us a massive amount of confidence that our new baby was safe and being looked after) took our little one and got her ready for the shoot, we took a seat on the comfy sofa, relaxed and watched on in amazement at the poses Armands was able to get our daughter into for pictures. We provided Armands a list of poses we wanted which he did in addition to some new ones he wanted to try out. We also took a number of props which meant something to us and Armands was able to create amazing photos utilising them, he is very creative! The photoshoot lasted 4 hours and as you can imagine a brand new baby with no nappy for that period was going to have some accidents, however, Armands and his assistant were so relaxed and proactive that this was not a problem and all accidents were cleaned up and antibacterial put into all affected surfaces. Time was also given to feed the little one multiple times through the session and no pressure was put on me to do this speedily. Armands assistant was also fab in giving me bits of advice as a new mother e.g breastfeeding, from her previous experience as a midwife. Armands turned edited the photos and turned them around within less than a week which was so quickly compared to other photographers utilised in the past. In addition, he provided us a sneak preview of four images on the day of the shoot on his Facebook page which was wonderful. There are a large number of packages available depended on budget and we selected a photo on and the disk of large digital images which were turned around quickly and the quality was excellent. We were also given a number of options for a thank you gift from Armands and a thank you letter when we received our pictures for utilising his service which just further enhanced the feel of a personal service. The photographs are amazing and we have had nothing but positive comments from friends and family with a number of friends signing up for pictures of their little ones to be taken. Thanks again Armands and assistant, great experience!!!

Myself and my partner have just finished a mini newborn photo shoot with Armands this morning. We had been looking at the premium session but decided on the mini one purely due to our budget. My partner had found A-fotografy online through a google search and had decided to go with Armands after looking through his galleries. We didn’t know what to expect arriving at the session today but we were put at ease immediately after seeing how good Armands was with our son. He has a very calming nature and knows how to work with babies to settle them. Even after our little one had a messy accident, Armands was very professional in dealing with it and didn’t seem phased by it. We are so pleased with our photos and did not feel under any pressure to buy certain ones. Armands had gently persuaded us to try a family photo shoot which we weren’t keen on but have decided to also buy two of the family photos as they are just perfect. Overall an amazing experience!

A friend sent me the link to Armand's website a week after our little boy was born. I just HAD to get his pictures taken. I wanted to capture this precious time when everything was new. Everybody says they forget how little they are when they are born. This way we would be able to record our memories and share them. Armands was about to go on holiday, but luckily managed to fit us in due to a cancellation. He responded quickly to my queries by email and text and gave me all the information on prices and what we needed to bring. He also sent a link to a selection of previous photos he had taken which helped us determine a preferred style in advance. Do ensure you take a few changes of clothes for you and your partner. As baby is not wearing a nappy during the shoot he will inevitably have a few accidents. Think in advance what style of clothing you both want to wear - casual or smart. I'd suggest to keep it simple, no patterns. Armands managed the shoot extremely professionally and it was clear he has a lot of experience. His assistant also helped to keep our baby calm. They are still so drowsy at this age so he just let everything be done to him. I was aware how much he was being handled to create the poses, but he didn't mind at all. The shoot lasted four hours. Because Armands went on holiday we had a four week wait to get the pictures. I know otherwise he would have turned them around much more quickly. He invited us back to the studio and presented the pictures to us in a nice PowerPoint presentation. It was quite emotional for me, as my boy was six weeks old by then and we'd already developed so much. We set ourselves a budget and chose our top ten pictures. I wanted the pictures both for creating framed prints for family and for thank you cards. It's not cheap, but I do feel we got value for money. I liked all pictures but in the end knew I'd never use 38 pictures and didn't want them languishing on a CD in a drawer. Instead I wanted our favourites and ensure they were well used over and over again. There are so many options, though, and everybody will be different as to how they want to use the pictures. When I mentioned I wanted to make thank you cards Armands immediately offered his services. He created a stunning card, much better than anything you'd get online or at a printer at a lower cost. I just love it. It will be perfect for thanking all our generous friends and family. Armands is friendly, not pushy, genuine and very experienced. He will give you his opinion but equally let you decide for yourself and direct the shoot as you want. I wish I'd known about him earlier to plan the look and feel more and also to do a pregnancy shoot. I will definitely go back when my boy is older and can highly recommend a-fotografy to others.

The birth of your baby is a once in a lifetime moment and it passes so quickly. We wanted to have photos to remember her at the very start of our daughters life. To be honest we had doubts about going to a photographer, she was only 7 days old and we were worried it would be too much for us and her. One of my friends shared the mini session with me and recommended Armands, so we decided to give it a try. As soon as we arrived we felt very comfortable, both Armands and Christine (who was training) were very friendly and made us feel relaxed straight away. They explained how the session would go and then we got started. The photos were taken of both baby Alba on her own and then with the me and her dad. After about an hour she started to get hungry and we stopped in the middle for a feed and cuddle and then started again. Armands was absolutely amazing with Alba, she was very content the whole session, and that for us was so important. We were blown away with how amazing the photos were. We had had a new born shoot with Armands and were now looking for someone who could do an outdoor shoot for us with our 14 month old daughter, who was just getting her confidence on her feet. Armands instantly came to mind as he was so good when our daughter was a baby and after a few thousand photos had taken over the next 14 months, his was by far the best. We were delighted when Armands said he could happily do an outdoor shoot . We chatted through exactly what we wanted and Armands instantly understood, we wanted to capture our daughter's energy and personality and the three of us interacting as a family, so more fly on the wall rather than a typical family photo shoot. The shoot itself was loads of fun, relaxed and exactly what we were looking for. We met at our local park and Armands chatted us through his thoughts on locations and poses and they were exactly what we had in our heads. He brought so much energy that our daughter was buzzing, smiling ear to ear in every photo and really engaging with him and the camera. He couldn't have done a better job, he is such a professional and the fact that he is a dad really helps as he interacts so well with our daughter and understands her needs. After the shoot and photo prep, we went to his studio to review the images my husband and I were speechless, we loved every single photo, so pleased I even shed a couple of tears! We will absolutely treasure the photos and know our daughter will too. The process of picking your photos is easy, the costs are clearly outlined at booking stage and Armands really listens, so he remembered we were wanting the images digitally and chatted us through the options and was in no way pushy. We got our images instantly on a USB stick which meant we could go straight to see our family and show them off. I have always loved newborn photos and I knew as soon as I had my own baby, I wanted these photos taken so I could treasure them and always have reminders of how little our baby girl once was. Having saw A-fotographys work prior to having my baby and also getting a personal recommendation, I had no doubt that I wanted Armand's to carry out our shoot. Armands is not only a top photographer, he is simply amazing with babies. He was very gentle and is a natural as he could soothe and settle our baby just as well as we could. We left with some very good tips!! From booking to receiving our photos, the service was first class and very straight forward. On the day of the shoot, it was all very relaxed in the studio and everything was complete in around 3-4 hours. We were invited back to the studio within one week to view the full gallery of our photos. Armands is a very nice gentleman and at no point did he try to pressure us to buy anything out with our pre-explained budget. He was also a great help in selecting our favourite photos and seemed genuinely happy that we were so happy with the final outcome. A-fotography is excellent value for money. We spent a number of hours looking at various companies and a-fotography was not only one of the least expensive but we believe the final picture standard is far superior to others. What can i say - 5 stars are definitely not enough to award Armands work. I met Armand for my maternity shoot and after the amazing first experience it only made sense to book a newborn photoshoot as well. He managed to capture the most precious moments from me expecting, to becoming a mum. And because we couldn't get enough of Armands work, the Family photoshoot was arranged. The experience was fantastic, as expected. Everything was so easy to arrange before hand. So on the day of the photoshoot of course everyone was a bit nervous. However that never lasted very long. As soon as Armand arrive at home the atmosphere changed, and it ended up being an amazing day with kids running in the rain, jumping crazy on the beds and thousands of smiles and a few giggles even from the grown ups. It was all so natural that it almost felt like Armand was part of the family. A week later the photos were ready and the result was fantastic. I have put all the pictures on a family album which gets open on every family gathering, and brings the same warmth to the heart that it did that very day. I couldn't be happier with the results and this is definitely something that will become a tradition in the family. He is not just the best photographer you can get, but the kindest person you will come across. I can't praise him enough.

What a great experience - highly recommended. We decided to book a family photoshoot when our pre-school son had a cycling mishap and his teeth looked like they were starting to go grey! We’d been meaning to get professional photos done for ages but this gave us the motivation we needed to get organised. After a bit of Googling we decided to contact Armands at A-fotografy. His photos looked great, his website gave us confidence that he could handle lively kids, and his pricing structure was clear. We explained the situation and thankfully he managed to squeeze us into his diary very quickly. We arrived at Armands’ studio with bags of props, bundles of outfit changes, emergency snacks and a little bit of trepidation: our 1 year old and 4 year old don’t sit still much. We were given a warm welcome and Armands took time to chat to the kids and gain their trust. They took a shine to him straight away. The photo session was hugely enjoyable for all – full of laughter. The kids were a bit of a handful but had a ball, and once I realised that Armands could not only cope with our kids but actually enjoyed their chaos I relaxed into things too! Even my husband (who’s not a big fan of having his photograph taken) was really positive about the experience. I felt like the two of us were a team with Armands, trying to playfully stage-manage the kids. We were able to do an evening Skype viewing to look at the photos, which was such a bonus at a really busy time of year. Armands gently guided us through the selection process, and was very patient as we oohed and aahed, and then ummed and aahed! He really captured the essence of both our kids' personalities. I could not recommend Armands highly enough! From the moment of planning the photo shoot with us he was very professional and thoughtful of the baby. His instructions of how to prepare for the shoot was very helpful and you can clearly see from that moment that he know how to deal with tiny babies. This just lead to even better experience of seeing him managing the baby during the shoot. As a first time parents we could actually learn some of his method to soother the baby. We loved the studio that Armands works in. It's big cosy and well equiped with baby props, gear and needed baby stuff for example baby table changer, breastfeeding pillow and etc! Of course he firstly asked us about what we like and from that he creates the images that we are in love with! My husband and I were initially unsure if we wanted to have a newborn baby photoshoot done with our little boy but we were persuaded by my sister who pointed out that these moments will pass by quickly and we won't be able to get them back. We booked a newborn photoshoot with A-Fotografy for when our baby was born. We had the photoshoot when our son was 8 days old at Armands great studio. He was great looking after our son who was not a very co-operative model! He still managed to capture some fantastic photographs, even with our pet bunny who we brought to the shoot too.They say never work with children or animals but Armands is great with both! We felt the day was all relaxed, and were able to give our son a feed and cuddles whenever and for as long as he needed. I was a bit sceptical when a friend suggested that I should get some pregnancy photos done. She said that this was the only time I was going to be pregnant with my first baby and so should have a few photos to remember how I felt, even if they were to go straight into a drawer. After a bit of googling, I came across Armands' website and was immediately attracted to his style – sexy but subtle and elegant at the same time. Armands responded to my query quickly and offered various maternity photo options to choose from. I went for the mini session, because of the flexibility it offers, as well as the very reasonable cost. The condition is that one needs to also purchase a newborn photo session in the studio, and we didn’t need to think about this twice once we saw Armands’ newborn gallery! I booked the maternity shoot for my 31st week; then had to change to a week later at very short notice, which Armands had no problem with. I convinced my partner to come along for a couples shot, and chose two additional poses I wanted to get. The studio itself was a little tricky to find but once there, my partner and I were made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable. The studio is cosy and very well-equipped and I had a choice of outfits to pose in. Armands spent time talking us through what would happen and explained how we should position ourselves to get the best results. The whole thing was done in just over 1,5 hours in a very professional manner and my partner was kept busy the whole time, helping to adjust my hair and outfits and assisting with moving lights etc. I felt like a supermodel, which is just what I needed! :) I really struggled to choose the best three shots from the set of proofs I was sent a week later, they were all absolutely amazing. Honestly couldn’t be more pleased, and I think the pics may even take pride of place in our living room! Thanks Armands, we can’t wait to get our baby photos now!

My brother recommended Armands having had newborn pictures done with him. We had an initial session with him to discuss and plan our own newborn session. Armands made us feel immediately comfortable with the set up, his experience and was extremely articulate about what we can expect and what we needed to do. We decided to combine the newborn shoot with a maternity shoot. It wasn't our original intention to do this but having seen a selection of his maternity pictures we just had to do both. The maternity shoot was a great experience, good fun and Armands was respectful but clear on what he required to ensure we got an excellent selection of shots. Newborn session update: A few weeks before our baby's due date, we went to meet Armands in his studio for a chat and he explained how the session would run and how we should plan for it. Once Harris was born and we had our session date booked Armands sent us an email to remind us what we had to do beforehand which was so helpful in those first few days as they are quite a blur! On the day of the session we seemed to have a different little boy from the one we had had for the 2 weeks previous. He was grumpy, didn't want to chill out and sleep regardless of how much he was fed. At one point about an hour in to the session i was beginning to think we weren't going to get any pictures at all but both Armands and Abi (his lovely assistant) were so relaxed with Harris and Armands was able to recognise the point when we could begin. Our session was quite a challenging one from the outset with Harris's 2 teenage big brothers (now lovingly referred to as "the giggle brothers") and our 2 large dogs included. The whole way through Armands was completely calm and in control despite all the extra variables. He had a clear plan and vision for the images however was adaptable when Harris or the dogs decided they didn't agree with the plan. We all felt at ease throughout the session and we got all the images we hoped for. We were also really impressed by how quickly after the session our photos were ready to view. This took just 8 days. We went back to the studio and saw a selection in a slide show on a big projector screen and chatted through our options for purchasing the images. This was a recap of the information Armands already shared with us in our initial planning discussion so there were no surprises at this stage. At no point during this process did we feel pressured into purchasing more products that we intended. In fact we ordered exactly what we intended before we went to view the pictures. What an awesome day! We used A-Fotografy for our wedding photographer 4 years ago and we were blown away by the amazing images Armands captured, so naturally when our first child arrived 23 days ago we knew who we wanted take our baby shoot. Although we were slightly later than most people as our shoot was not in the first 5-10 days after birth Armands managed to capture some incredible images to help us remember our son at such a young age! The session was relaxed and informal and met all of our expectations. Communication prior to the shoot was prompt and instructions on what to bring and where to go we clear and informative. We opted for the mini shoot as this met our budget perfectly, the session was an hour and comprised of a head shot, a body shot and a family shot, Armands even managed to fit in a wee creative shot as well. Looking forward to returning once our son is one, for the fisrt birthday cake shoot!

We contacted Armands to have photographs of our son taken. We instantly felt at ease at our first meeting at our home. We discussed what kind of photographs we were looking for (candid/at home) and made arrangements for the shoot. Unfortunately when the day arrived, the weather was terrible and there was virtually no light coming in to the flat. Armands had come prepared with extra lighting and made some adjustments to the photos we had planned. The shoot was very relaxed and Armands put us all at ease. Last week we went to the studio to see the final product and were so pleased! A new born shoot was not something we had ever thought about until speaking to our relatives. We were initially concerned about how our daughter would be during the shoot and also concerned about the amount of time allocated given we had not ventured out the house much since her birth. We needn't have worried at all, Armands put us all at ease very quickly, especially our daughter. He is clearly very experienced with newborns and very passionate about his work. The shoot was really enjoyable for all of us, we were all very much involved and the time flew by. Millie was happy during the entire session and we still refer to Armands as the baby whisperer as she was so content. Everything that we needed to do, everything we needed to bring and what was going to happen was made clear to us well in advance of the day so we knew exactly what to expect. On the day, we fed our daughter, talked through the photos, and the whole session was very relaxed. The time Armands specifies was needed to choose the arrangements and to feed and position our daughter, and just to make sure nothing is rushed. It was the best 4 hours we had had since she was born. The results were amazing and I could not recommend Armand enough, he is truly a Professional and we have captured our little girl in the most amazing images forever, we still look at them all the time. New born photo shoot - amazing - excellent service - highly recommend Armands We had an excellent experience getting photos for our newborn baby girl. Below is my experience with Armand and why I choose him I and my wife always thought of getting a photoshoot done for the new born baby. However I was little bit lazy getting it organised 😔. I left the task until last moment. In the last moment I started my research (Google, friends and advertisements etc). And as part of my research I was looking for 1) baby safety 2) good photos and 3) falls in budget. As part of that approach I have contacted good number of photographers in Edinburgh. Of all we thought Armands was the one who ticked first 2 boxes in first instance.The only thing we had the issue was budget. I never realised that it was such a expensive one!. So I contacted Armands and discussed about the budget. And he has kindly provided the options and amended packages. After I was comfortable with pricing we chose a regular session with no assistant and sample poses we were looking for from the gallery. On the appointment day I was bit anxious on how Armand will handle my wee one and how my wee one will cooperate! However I would really say that he has mastered the art of handling babies and make parents feel comfortable. The moment we stepped into the studio he took the baby and started soothing her and made my wife feel relaxed. As agreed with Armand as part of package I gave him a hand in assisting (i.e., holding baby occasionally when needed!). I would say without assistant Armands has managed to organise and do the photoshoot efficiently. After the photoshoot Armands gave us the regular update on editing. Overall I would highly recommend Armands for new born photoshoot

We recently completed our baby daughter’s newborn photoshoot with A-Fotografy and the experience was at the same time a revelation (more on this later) and an absolute joy. My wife and I decided quite early on in our pregnancy that we wanted this kind of newborn photo shoot. We had searched ideas and styles online and then looked for photographers in Scotland who offered it. What drew us to Armands was the clear website and photographs of his studio and portfolio. We made contact and set up a visit to meet Armands at his studio in Edinburgh and the process was explained to us very simply and clearly and we were onboard. We live in Glasgow so deciding on an Edinburgh based photographer and having to transport a newborn on the day was not without its challenges. However, we decided that Armands was the photographer for us. Our daughter was born 11 days early but this was not a problem to fit a day into the schedule. We ended up having the shoot on her due date. To the shoot itself. We chose 10 photo styles we liked, many of which were not from Armands portfolio but we found him really knowledgeable in how to set up the poses and explain to us the particular challenges of the poses for the baby and the photographer. Armands is an exemplar newborn photographer, there is clear evidence of this in his work, but now to my revelation. This man is also a Baby Whisperer. He had an instant relationship and rapport with our little one and knew exactly how to calm her and make her at ease for the shoot. He told us that this is from many years working with midwives for his photoshoots. We had a wonderful experience and have a beautiful set of photographs, both of these we will always treasure. It’s only a pity that Armands’ services as a Baby Whisperer are not separately available!

Some of my friends clubbed together and bought us a newborn photo mini session with Armands for our 4 week old daughter, based on two separate recommendations from colleagues. It’s probably not something I would have done myself, but I’m very glad that we had the opportunity to try it! Armands has been working with newborns for many years now and has a lot of experience dealing with them, in all their various different moods! He gave us clear instructions before the session on feeding & sleeping timings to try to give the best chance of a successful session. Armands’ studio is a comfortable spacious south-facing room with dozens if not hundreds of props and blankets etc to use for sessions. On arrival we sat down and discussed what we wanted to get out of the session, different photo options and using some of our own props which we’d brought with us (mainly new gifts from family). Armands developed a clear plan for the session, based on our ideas and discussions on colours etc. We then got the baby ready for the session, and saw Armands’ “baby whispering” technique at first hand! We were a bit worried she might get cranky as she hadn’t slept much beforehand, but after a feed and some Derren Brown magic from Armands she was quiet as a mouse the whole time! We managed to get some really nice solo baby photos with the various props, and then finished with a family photo of the three of us. Armands then immediately prepared a slideshow of the 20-30 best shots, for us to watch and then pick the ones we wanted there and then. The mini session gift included 4 photos but of course you can purchase more if you want. I was really happy with the pictures because they seemed a bit less artificial and staged and a bit more natural than a lot of other baby photos that I’ve seen. It was really good to capture the baby at this early point in her life, no doubt she will look totally different in a month or two from now! I would definitely recommend Armands to anyone else thinking about a newborn photo session.

I was on google searching for a good maternity photographer in Edinburgh, when I found A-Fotografy’s website. First of all, he ranked high on google search, which got me curious. Then I visited his website (very professional layout by the way), and saw some great reviews. I became even more curious and decided to give him a call to find out if it was all ‘packaging’ or if he was for real. His phone manner and customer service was superb. He showed genuine interest and enthusiasm in my photoshoot, and gave me all the necessary information/suggestions I needed. Being a dad of three himself, he understood the stress and tiredness associated with pregnancy, and had some tips on how to make the shoot an easier and rewarding experience for me. By the end of our 30-minute conversation, my mind was made up. I knew he was THE ONE! On the day of the shoot, I got to the studio with my husband and my hyperactive toddler daughter. Armands bonded immediately with my family, and in no time we were all settled into the relaxed atmosphere of his great personality and nice studio. I was 33 weeks pregnant and extremely exhausted. At that point, I just wanted to have any photos taken and go off to sleep. I had even forgotten some of the poses I had chosen earlier (blame it on pregnancy brain), and I had zero energy for striking any intricate poses. Luckily for me, Armands was much organised. He had set out prints of the poses for my shoot, the selection of outfits (his beautiful gowns and fabrics) I would be wearing, and the different backgrounds that would look great for my skin tone. My husband even said one of the shoots reminded him of a red carpet event (Well, hello! Every pregnant woman is a celebrity, and we deserve all the red carpet treatment we can get). Armands really did his homework; all I had to do was follow his instructions. He was patient and professional throughout the session. We were also able to sneak in some nice ‘big sister’ shots of my daughter. I went back some days later for the viewing show. The ambience of the studio was even more relaxing with the lighting and the nice music that was playing; it almost felt as good as pregnancy yoga. When my first picture came up on the screen, I screamed! I couldn’t believe my eyes. The editing was so natural, not overly photo-shopped. The hyperpigmentation and stretch marks on my skin were reduced to a reasonable extent. The photo was perfect in every way. And then began my problem… All the other photos were equally perfect; it was hard to narrow down my choice. However, Armands was kind enough to give his honest/professional opinion and helped me cut down my selection. He didn’t encourage me to take more copies, rather he advised me to save that money for a newborn shoot. A photographer that looks out for the wellbeing of your pocket? What’s not to love about A-Fotografy? I would highly recommend him for maternity and newborn shoots in Edinburgh.

NEWBORN SESSION Got a voucher for a photoshoot of my gorgeous newborn baby girl with A-Fotografy in September from family. Had seen Armands work months previously when i first found out i was pregnant and decided, then, that i wanted these brilliant pictures of my baby when she arrived....I absolutely loved this artists work. The shoot was long because of necessary poop breaks and feeding of course but Armands and his assistant were so patient and excellent with my baby girl. When we went back to see the finished result i was literally in tears watching the slideshow that he had put together of all of the beautiful images he had captured of the three of us (mum, dad and baby). The pictures blew me away, i am over the moon with Armands work! Truly amazing the poses he can mould baby into and such patience! Newborn Mini Session The newborn photos we received are absolutely brilliant. We are both extremely impressed with the quality and level of creativity in the photographs. We booked a newborn mini session with Armands, however, we needed to rearrange this session a few times due to our daughter having bruising to her face from birth. Armands was very flexible and assisted us in organising a suitable date once the bruising had settled. Our daughter had been quite restless in the days prior to the photo session and we were worried that she wouldn't settle for the pictures. However, Armands was exceptionally good with her and we were able to make it through the mini session without her waking. This is despite being manoeuvred into a variety of poses. The studio is open and bright, with numerous props and fabrics to choose from. Armands made us feel comfortable and talked us through the structure of the session and offered his advice on particular photos that could be achieved within the time. We brought along a few cuddly toys from our childhood and he was able to quickly come up with a creative idea to incorporate them. The end products are fantastic and we are very pleased with the photos. We will be making another appointment to return for our daughters 1st birthday.

Today we had a fabulous day in the company of Armands and his cosy studio. Our daughter was 3 weeks old when we finally decided to go ahead and get her booked in for a newborn shoot. We arrived pretty early and were greeted by Armands. He took us into the studio and we were put at ease as soon as we walked in. It was clean and warm - the perfect temperature for us all especially our baby. We all briefly talked about what we wanted from the shoot then Aiyla was quickly taken out her car seat for cuddles with Armand. Letting a complete stranger hold your child may be daunting but I can honestly say Iv never felt so comfortable. Armands was so patient with her. He sussed out her body language within a few minutes of holding her and walking about with her. Aiyla suffers from really bad colic and spending time with Armands he gave us the best advice ever. A lot more than what the doctors have said to us. Once we had an idea of what we wanted he jumped straight into the shoot. Soothing and calming Aiyla if she was irrited or wanted to cry. I can honestly say he's a miracle working with babies - ' The Baby Whisperer ' would be the perfect title for him. Once the shoot was over we were able to feed her and put her to sleep as it may have been a tiring hour for her. While we were doing with Armands was going through our images and narrowing them down for us and we were in absolute awe when we were going through choosing them. They were all brilliant but ofcourse we had a budget to stick to and Armands did not force us in anyway. That same evening we received the images all touched up and edited. We are completely over the moon with them! A memory we will cherish forever. If you are looking and exploring people to do a newborn/baby shoot with I highly recommend Armands. You will not be disappointed with the images or the way he is with your newborn. He may even give you some advice like he did with us!

We decided to do a cake smash session for my youngest sons 1st birthday as wanted to celebrate this special occasion and include our eldest son also. We had used A-fotografy before for both our children's newborn sessions and were delighted with our images! Armands arranged a suitable date for the cake smash and then sent me an email with all the information I needed, this included how the session would run, what to wear, outfit changes, different packages available/price list etc. Firstly we did some shots of the birthday boy in some party outfits, then did the cake smash itself where my eldest son also joined in and then we finished off with some bath shots where my eldest son also joined in as there were plenty of bubbles floating around!! Just like our previous experiences we couldn't have asked for more, Armands is great with children, he has the patience of a saint and nothing distracts him from being completely professional. Whether it be newborn "accidents" or crazy toddlers full of energy!! You will get nothing less than a five star service from Armands from the minute you enquire to you viewing and selecting your images. We would not use anyone else for our photography and anyone else who I have recommended him to has thanked me for the recommendation as they now have amazing precious images too!! In truth I was quite apprehensive about this and although the photos looked amazing I was slightly concerned how we would get similar. Maternity&Newborn Session We recently moved to Edinburgh and are expecting our first baby soon. We are very fortunate to find Armands to do our maternity session and the upcoming newborn session, thanks to all the genuine and convincing reviews we found online for A-Fotografy. And we feel responsible to leave our review as well. Initially we were a bit concerned with the prices which are higher than we expected but quite fair across the market. We expressed the concern to Armands and he kindly suggested us to do a mini maternity session along with the the new born session so that the whole package is more budget friendly. Nonetheless the mini session was by no means short of attention and effort. We pre-selected a few poses we like and Armands managed to work on all of them including those we picked broadly from internet that are not in his gallery. During the session he was absolutely professional and focused, and the beautiful images we finally got certainly proves his skill and hard work. Photography aside, Armands is a very nice person. He talked with us about maternity and babies and shared his experience to us. During the session he patiently guided us to pose for the images and was very thoughtful in preventing my wife from tiredness. All in all, we are very happy with everything and look forward to the newborn session! UPDATE: Newborn Session Our little Albert finally came in Februrary and we immediately contacted Armands after leaving the hospital to arrange the newborn session. We had the freedom to think of up to 15 poses beforehand and Armands also gave his insightful opinion on the selection. He was also very kind to give us some advice on breastfeeding as my wife was having some difficulty with that initially. The session went through slightly less smoothly thant the maternity session as the little one's reluctance prevented one or two poses being shot. Nevertheless, what's amazing about Armands, which we probably didn't mention last time, is that he often came up with new ideas during the session. So in the end we still have got quite a few brilliant images. Now we are waiting for the album to be designed and produced, and we are pretty sure it would be something wonderful to celebrate the birth of our little boy. And we can't wait to come back again next year for his first birthday!

We attended a-fotography for a mini newborn session. We chose this as we were keen for a newborn photoshoot & this was an affordable option. Armands was very welcoming & his studio was warm, comfortable & in an easily accessiable area of Edinburgh. He put babys needs first throughout the session making sure our newborn was kept comfortable at all times. He was also very patient when any little accidents happened! He was very creative with ideas for different photos & had lots of props available. We were also able to encorporate some of our babies own toys into the photos. Mini newborn session I was looking for a good photographer for a newborn session but we found the costs were over our budget. After searching the web I came across A Fotografy, I loved the style of newborn pics on the website. We were delighted to see there was a mini newborn shoot option which was a really good price! We booked straight away and im so pleased we did as the photos of our baby girl are beautiful. With it being a mini session I was worried baby wouldn't settle and we might not get good pics in the time we had but Armands was wonderful with our baby and she settled straight away. Mini-Maternity session I started off looking for a newborn photographer, and hadn’t really thought about a maternity session, but as I read through various photographers websites, and looked at images, the idea really grew on me. I felt like my pregnancy is a really special time that I’d waited so long for. I loved interacting with my bump and was proud to show it off. I wanted to capture some of that, so I could look back on it in the future. Armands was really welcoming, and immediately put both my husband and I at ease. He explained everything to us, and helped us get into the poses we had chosen. At times it did feel a little uncomfortable as we had to lean in one direction while moving a foot in the opposite direction, but we immediately trusted Armands and knew it was just for a few moments until he captured the shot he needed. I had chosen some of the poses which involved being topless with just a bit of fabric or my arm to cover my modesty. I was a bit unsure about how I would feel getting these done. But I shouldn’t have worried. Armands made my husband his ‘little helper’. Everything was explained to him, and then Armands made himself discrete until my husband had helped me into position. I didn’t feel embarrassed at all. I wasn’t sure how the photos would come out – I’m not the most photogenic and have had some disappointments in the past. But I love these photos. Armands managed to capture exactly the mood we were aiming for, and to make both of us look good! If you are considering getting newborn photos done, I’d definitely encourage you to consider the mini-maternity session with Armands too – he makes achieving stunning images really easy and relaxed.

Armand what I can say... extremely professional, kind, honest and very friendly. I have booked my newborn session while I was pregnant. I really wanted shoots With my dog as he is my first child  I was so confident and happy until my baby girl was born. I thought not on earth I can handle her within first week to a stranger! I was ready to cancel the session, I couldn’t sleep and was worried all Night. We have arrived there and it was a great surprise. Armand knew exactly how to handle a baby, shame to admit but he was better than us – new parents – he also has an assistant which is friendly and gives you this extra comfort. Also my dog was very well treated and I know that not everyone loves animals so it was very important to us. In terms of the session my baby was sleeping most of it, they really looked after her reassuring me at all the time. If I could give to any a bit of advice before the first session - Try and relax and use the comfy sofas in the studio for a wee nap as your baby is In safe hands! Armands is a brilliant photographer, very professional and talented, he really captured great expressions in our first daughter who was 11 weeks old. We wanted to capture her moments whilst being so small, but didn’t get around to getting newborn photographs unfortunately. We used Armands when our son was born in 2012 after seeing some of his work on display. We had such a good experience with him the first time, that when we found out we were expecting our second baby we contacted him right away to get booked up! The photos that we have from both shoots are amazing and are something that we will cherish forever, to remind us of when our babies were so little. On both occasions, the photo session was very laid back and Armands and his assistant took care of everything - this was especially welcome given that our little girl was only 3 days old at her photoshoot and we were all shattered (although you would never know it from the great family pictures!!). I was really impressed at our second shoot when he had a now 3 year old boy to deal with. He was always very calm with him and there was no pressure to get a certain shot with both kids, if they weren't playing ball we just tried something else. In typical last minute style I decided to try and get some newborn photographs done when Lucas was already here! I remembered that a friend of mine had shown me some of Armands work so I asked her for his details - I was delighted when Armands managed to fit us in the following week when Lucas was 10 days old. Lucas is number 4 for us, to start with I was thinking of getting photos of just Lucas but Armands suggested it would be lovely to have shots with all the family and I am so glad we did :) When we arrived it became clear all the things we had forgotten but Armands reassured us it would be fine! Well Lucas had other ideas! 2.5 hours later we had to admit defeat as Lucas would just not settle, Armands was amazing throughout and really made us feel at ease even though it was getting pretty stressful trying to get Lucas to co-operate! By some miracle Armands was able to fit as in a few days later, we went home with an action plan of how to hopefully have a more successful session second time round. I was very impressed by Armands professionalism but also his ability to make everything friendly and informal at the same time. So we all arrived on the second day and for the first hour it was starting to look a bit ropey until finally Lucas settled down to sleep  Armands then went to work and we got some amazingly fantastic photographs!! When we left (5.5 hours later) I spent the rest of the day trying not to cry! It was all pretty emotional for me and even without the photographs it was an amazing experience spending all that time trying to capture a real snapshot in time of our family. I love photographs but I feel like this is the first time I have seen a ‘real’ photographer at work. His attention to detail is amazing. The photos we have now are wonderful and will be treasured forever. Having spent a small fortune for photographs from other studios, I was very impressed with the packages available and they are very good value for money – I can’t wait to receive our canvas and show it off. We were able to view the photographs the week after the session and considering the work that most have been involved in the sorting and editing of the images, I was very impressed with the turnaround time. Overall our experience was priceless and I am so pleased we decided to do it this time around. Lucas is our last baby (definitely!) and I feel we have really captured everyone’s feelings towards him and our family in the images we have. I would recommend Armands and A-fotografy to everyone and I am sure I will be raving about my experience to anyone who will listen for some time to come!

I've always admired those pregnant ladies who have beautiful pictures of themselves in such a special moment. And in some way, I wanted to have a lovely memory of my first pregnancy. Therefore, I spent some time browsing a nice photographer in Edinburgh. When I saw Armands' website, it gave me the impression that he does a good job. To be completely honest, if you are just looking for a good photographer who just meet your expectations, your might need to go to somewhere else... because he is more than that, he is a brilliant photographer who goes the extra mile and gives your more than you can expect! My wife and I did the maternity and the baby session with Armands. Overall, it was a five star! We have no hesitation to recommend him. We found A-Fotografy just using google - there were a lot of good reviews, but we are still a little bit unsure before we met Armands. The room was clean and cozy. The environment was relax. During the maternity session he was passionate, explaining everything really well. The whole session was a pleasure. Moving to the baby session, Armands surprised us again by his experience of dealing with babies! He even shared a lot of tips of caring babies. We have brought some of our own outfits. I first saw Armands work in a portfolio while having a 4d scan at babes n womb I had been given an offer for a free sitting at his studio, at first I was a bit sceptical (after looking through all the beautiful images) thinking that "this will be another over priced photographer" ahh what the heck let's give it a go, I really wanted some up to date pictures and newborn shots of my family seen as this was my last addition. I contacted Armands for a booking he was very professional asked me what I would like done and we set a date. We turned up to the studio it was very warm and inviting easy to find, Armands scooped up my newborn for cuddles and talked about what we were going to do. I couldn't believe how attentive and patient he was as my wee girl certainly proved to be quite a challenge as she was more alert than most newborns her age. he certainly has a magic way with babies! My other 3 children were kept entertained and loved the experience. Afterwards we went through the options and I chose a package to suit I was very surprised at how affordable these were and priced for all budgets! I was invited back for a viewing session however this proved difficult for me time wise with the children "no problem says Armands" we set up the viewing over Skype. All the beautiful images popped up and had me in floods of tears! They were absolutely beautiful better than I ever imagined. I can not thank you Armands enough! Your portraits now are displayed all around my house and everyone that sees them adores them. Your certainly one of a kind and I've recommended a lot to come your way, I can't rate you or your service high enough. I can't wait for my wee girls cake smash for her first birthday.. After seeing our baby change daily we realised that we wanted to capture him as soon as possible. We hadn't thought about a professional shoot and many photographers would only do this within the first few weeks. We found Armands online and loved his natural style of photography. He agreed to photograph Oscar at 8 weeks and we were thrilled with the results. The studio was lovely and warm for a newborn and Armands was brilliant working with Oscar to get the best photographs. His newborn sessions are very relaxed and having his assistant there to provide support is very reassuring. I'm always amazed when I see the outcome of the sessions and this time was no different. We chose A-fotografy for my maternity photoshoot because of the great reviews on the internet and we weren't disappointed at all! Before shooting, the photographer Armands took time to understand our expectations and desired styles/postures, clearly explained what were available from his studio and what we needed to prepare ourselves. When it came to the photo shoot session, he was not only professional but really easy going, which made the shooting relaxing and enjoyable. We managed to shoot 7 poses we had previously discussed and agreed; when we came to view the images, I had tears in my eyes as the pictures were absolutely amazing, reminding me how happy and proud I've been throughout my pregnancy, and how beautiful my changed body shape can still be. I couldn't recommend the maternity photo sessions with Armands highly enough to any couples who also want to capture this precious stage of their life, it's definitely worth the money and effort!

He really is a high calibre professional and He made us fell very comfortable, didn't feel we were under pressure to calm the baby down- on the contrary, me and my partener were very relaxed, laid back and enjoyed the photo shot while he did all the work. After initially deciding not to bother with a new born photography shoot, we decided in a panic once William was 3 weeks old, that he was growing alarmingly quickly and we wanted a record of his first few weeks that weren't grainy instagram or phone photos. After a frantic google search and realising that i should have booked it when I was about 7 months pregnant I rang Armand and fortunately he managed fit us in the next day. We opted for the mini shoot and after another sleepless night, we arrived bickering and slightly frenetic at Armand's studio. My hair was still wet, having barely managed to shower and the baby despite just feeding for an hour decided this was the moment to wake up. Stepping into Armand's warm, calm studio instantly melted away our concerns. The best description we have is a baby whisperer! William can be a grumpy baby but Armand expertly calmed him, so whilst he was awake, he was compliant. Whilst I quickly dried my hair and applied make up, my husband and Armand got the first few shots of William and then we had our final family shots. The final photo's were lovely and we were absolutely thrilled. Armand is a talented photographer and we will certainly be returning when/if(!!) we have another child and when William is a bit older. I am so glad that we got these early photos, as now even a week later, I can see William has changed so much and it's lovely to remember just how tiny he was.

My new husband and I honeymooned in Edinburgh at the end of December 2015. We are from the United States and this was a dream destination for me. I wanted to capture the beauty of the city and have pictures of us that were professional, artistic, and better than our awkward selfies taken with cell phones. I started Googling in June to try to find a photographer to take our pictures in December. I looked at a few different photographers in Edinburgh and emailed a few but A-Fotografy was my first choice because I love the way that Armands takes pictures. They not only are photographs that capture memories but really are artistic and something that I can decorate my walls with. Luckily, Armands was available the day I was hoping to have our pictures taken and he was very easy to work with right from the beginning. I also feel like Armands' prices for his services are super affordable for the excellent quality of his work, his friendly demeanor, and his thoroughness. As the day got closer, I emailed Armands and he agreed to meet us at our hotel to start off our photo shoot. We took a few pictures in the lobby of the hotel and then set out for pictures around town. Like I said before, Armands is very friendly and was so easy to work with. Neither my husband nor I have ever had professional pictures taken like that so we had no idea how to pose and Armands was so patient with telling us how to stand or where to look. He really put a lot of effort into ensuring that we would look the best we could. He had a whole route planned out at some of the beautiful places around Edinburgh since we are not from there but also integrated a spot we had found a previous day on a hop-on-hop-off tour. We had a great day with Armands and he did a phenomenal job giving us different locations to take pictures. He captured everything I could imagine and more. After we were finished for the day, he said he would try to have the pictures to us on a disk before we left for home so I wouldn't have to try to figure out Drop Box. He had them ready for us so fast and even delivered them to our hotel in a cute little gift bag with a very nice card. I couldn't wait to get home to my computer so I could look at them. I was not disappointed at all. My pictures are beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Even better! I had an amazing experience with Armands from start to finish and I would highly recommend him. I can't say enough how much I appreciate everything Armands did and how much I will treasure those pictures.

We couldn’t have chosen anyone better than Armands to be our wedding photographer. When we first contacted him, he was friendly and responsive to our questions. We were reassured that he already had experience of photographing weddings in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and knew the area well. We had an engagement photography session to rehearse some of the shots we were going to take during the wedding day, and this was extremely helpful for us. Armands was brilliant at helping us feel at ease with him, and in front of the camera lens, and this meant that on the wedding day we didn’t have any nerves about being photographed. On our wedding day, Armands was directive and engaging, and he also demonstrated his natural ability to manage big groups of people (not an easy task!). He constantly made funny jokes and interesting facial expressions to make us all laugh. We were impressed with his delivery and enthusiastic style of photo taking. He can capture special moments naturally as they happen and he is also talented in arranging atmospheric shots. His assistant, Dani, was friendly and cooperative. She was flexible and reactive to situations. She took a lot of good candid photos of our family and us. When Dani was in stealth mode, it was almost as if she was not there taking all these fantastic photos! Armands and Dani’s teamwork was streamlined, and they worked well with our videographers too. Armands came to meet with the videographers the day before the wedding to plan how they would synchronise their shots for the ceremony. We appreciated his effort. After the wedding, Armands was prompt in sending us all the selected photos within a couple of weeks so that we could use them again at our second wedding reception in Singapore. There was no need to chase him for them. Armands and Dani’s photographs captured our emotions beautifully. Every time we look at the photos, it feels like we are re-living our special day. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of wedding photographers and would recommend them to anyone getting married.

When you’re trying to plan a wedding in less than eight months, it’s not always easy to find the perfect supplier who is free on the date you want, and within your budget! My fiancé and I went along to the Wedding Fair at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange looking for ideas more than anything. Choosing the right photographer was particularly important for us as my now husband is a keen amateur photographer himself. We looked at every photographer at the event, asking if they were free on our date, and looking carefully at their pictures. From the first, we were absolutely captivated by Armands’ images on his stand – artistic and creative, without feeling forced or staged. And then we got talking! Both of us really enjoyed chatting to Armands – he was particularly sympathetic about the difficulties of choosing a photographer when you’re normally behind the camera as he’d had this problem himself. For the whole of the following week, I couldn’t get his work out of my head, so we booked him! Armands met with us twice before our wedding – once to see the venue and once to take some test shots. He spent hours with us, checking the light and the locations he wanted to use, and attempting to train us not to be completely awkward! We definitely laughed a lot, and the resulting images were gorgeous. He also came along to our rehearsal the day before the wedding to make sure the minister was happy with where he wanted to be during the service. On the day itself, Armands met me (the Bride) in the hotel where I was getting ready, and his second met my groom at the church. He took so many beautiful images, and never once got in the way of us getting ready. He was especially good with my flower girl (age 3), really getting her to relax and smile. Later on, he did the same with us. It was a pleasure to work with him – he gets really excited when he has an idea. The sparkle in his eyes as he wondered out on to the Meadows with three bunches of balloons and a flash after dark has to be seen to be believed – and the images we got back are fabulous. Armands even handled our beloved, but forthright, family members perfectly – patiently taking some drunkenly requested group shots when he was already supposed to have headed home! I can’t express how delighted I am with our final images. The candid shots are full of character and life, the group photos are natural, and the artistic images will definitely be printed and framed with pride at home. Armands has clearly found his vocation in his work. He is both a dedicated professional, and a fun and delightful person, who has given us an outstanding service from start to finish. Mini Newborn Session A-Fotografy was recommended to myself and my wife by friends and we are very very happy that they did! We just wanted some excellent pictures taken just when our daughter came home but we were unsure what size prints we wanted or if we wanted any of them on a canvass or anything like that - all of which A-Fotografy do - so the Mini Newborn Session was perfect for us. On the day Armands was extremely helpful and professional and I would go so far as to describe him as a 'baby whisperer'. I booked Armands for a maternity and newborn photography package after seeing some of his work on a friend's Facebook page. I had a look around at a few other photographers who specialise in newborn photography but loved his shots the best. I work with press photographers on a regular basis for my job, although I'm usually behind the camera not in front of it! During the maternity shoot I could quickly see that Armands puts a lot of thought into his shots and does everything he can to capture the best image. This was my second time with Armands, we had previously been for a newborn photo session and now it was time to return for a cake smash! I was a little hesitant as my son is a little nervous around new people but within a few minutes Armands had him giggling. He is a natural with children and we all felt at ease instantly. I've always wanted to have pictures taken of my newborn but was anxious as my boy had not yet settled in well and I was reluctant book him in for a session within his first 2 weeks and was doubtful he could handle a 'full session' of 3-4 hours! My family and I vacationed in Scotland a couple weeks ago (we are from the US) and we booked Armands to do our family photos. I can’t say enough good things about our experience with him. From the moment we met he was very warm and welcoming. He took us all over Edinburgh and showed us sights we wouldn’t have otherwise known to see all throughout our session. He was such a joy. His humor made us relax and he was able to achieve some very genuine smiles out of my teenagers (which is difficult to do). If you’re thinking about having your bump photographed by a professional, Armands is the one. He’s got several different styles of maternity photo to suggest if you’re not yet sure what you want, and if you have specific styles in your mind, he’ll perfectly get the idea and develop it even further. I’ve spent some time discussing ideas with him, looking at his portfolio and other materials, and he was totally happy to try something new. The only worry I had before the session was that I wouldn’t know how to strike a beautiful pose without looking at a mirror, but Armands’s instruction about what to do with my body parts was very clear and the result was amazing. Don’t be afraid to tell him what you don’t like in your photos, so that he can make sure you don’t end up having images you’re not happy with. Cannot recommend him more.

I had wanted to get photos done for a while of the kids, but didn't really know where to start. One phone call later to Armands, and I felt completely at ease. He talked me through the various options (indoor shoot, outdoors etc) and pointed out the key things to consider about where the photos would be hung. But most importantly of all, he suggested I bring the family to the studio to meet him so the kids could get used to him. Within minutes of us arriving at the studio, my usually shy (around men) youngest daughter was completely relaxed. I should point out that there was no sales pressure and no obligation on the visit. The visit paid dividends when we returned for the shoot. Two relaxed and giggling children left us with a host of beautiful shots. When we returned to chose which ones we wanted on the wall, Armands was good enough to advise us against some of the more expensive options where he felt they were less appropriate for what we wanted. To cap it all off, he even came and hung the photos on our wall. Something that would have taken an idle DIY-phobe like me several months!

We had a great time at our daughter's first birthday cake smash. We started with family photos (3 generations of our family). My dad has poor mobility and requires walking sticks. Armands was very patient and considerate of my dad's needs and physical limitations during the photoshoot. The family photographs were followed by individual photos of our daughter with some lovely props and a chance for a change of outfit. This was followed by the cake smash and bathtub photos which were great fun for our daughter and for us to watch. The whole photoshoot took nearly two hours but there was never any impression of time pressure. Armands had a lovely rapport with our daughter and put us all at ease. We had a further meet up to view the photos and consider album options. We were very impressed with the photos he produced and displayed as a video. We have a lovely album for keeping these precious memories. I would definitely recommend Armands for a photoshoot.

I decided pretty last minute that I wanted a Cake Smash shoot for my wee girls first birthday and after a bit of searching on Google I came across A-Fotografy. I was instantly drawn in by the quality of the photographs on the website and all the amazing reviews. What do you give a special couple who are expecting their first child as a life lasting gift? First off, the baby is going to be the best gift ever, no question, but to cherish the memories of this wonderful baby I chose to give a new born photo shoot. ..Well actually I didn't, my son Fraser was needing help finding a suitable gift, and as usual it's left up to mother to organise. So, I live near Aberdeen, my son lives in Leeds and the expectant couple, Moh and my daughter Claire live in Edinburgh, so no easy way of doing this. I Googled "new born photo shoot Edinburgh" to see what I could find. Loads of results came up. I had a wee browse and sent a few "feeler emails". Some I never heard back from!!! Some replied with an automated email but one person called me in person, Armands from A-fotografy. Having never done this in my life before Armands explained to me what he could do, what it would cost, options available, etc. I explained that it was a gift from my son and that he had X amount to spend. Again Armands gave me many avenues to pursue, to be honest he couldn't of been more helpful and patient. I hasten to add he also explained that with a new born it is important to have a provisional date set before the baby is born because of the time the shoot takes it can't be done on an ad-hoc basis. I discussed at length with my son Fraser and he decided this was the way to go for my daughter Claire, and her partner Moh. I felt like I had made a new friend in Armands!!! So we booked and waited........ Beautiful Lena was born safe and well and our date for the shoot was set. Lena was 11 days old. As a first time Grandmother I was anxious about bringing a new baby to pose for photographs in a studio. Clair and Moh where also feeling anxious as well, but we needn't have worried one bit!!!! The studio was warm, clean and totally relaxing. At all times Lena was "in charge" and she led the whole thing, not bad for an 11 day old baby. There was a midwife present, Armands assistant Mitra, who was so calming and wonderful that I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed!!!! Dad was so relaxed he had a wee forty winks on the sofa, of course he was sleep deprived! Safety and Lena’s comfort was always paramount. When Lena needed changed and fed it was not a problem, even a breast feeding pillow was available for use. My daughter Claire liked it so much I ended up buying one for her, and Lena will benefit of course!!!! I was honoured and privileged to be part of it, I had some idea as to what the photographs would look like and when my daughter and her partner came back to the studio a week later to see the final photographs they were absolutely delighted. Armands even gave sound advice to them about what print options would be suitable to go on the wall, and how best to group the photographs if they decided to print more in the future. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. Armands has a young family of his own so he was like a hands on dad as well as a very professional photographer whose attention to detail was admirable. I thoroughly recommend this experience, trust me you'll feel like you've got two new friends in Armands and his lovely assistant Mitra as well as beautiful memories to cherish for a lifetime.

We originally met with Armands for a Christmas mini shoot last year, following feedback and a recommendation from a friend, and we have never looked back as far as family photography is concerned! He is relaxed, friendly, and patient and understanding with children- our girls took to him immediately. We had absolutely no hesitation in signing up for his day in the life project- we just prayed our children would behave- and by some miracle they did! Armands was clear and happy to answer any questions on what to expect on the day and what he was looking for, but the brief was simple- be yourselves and do what you do! We kept the plan for the day quite flexible to suit two young children and the Scottish weather, and Armands was very accommodating. In the end we spent some time getting ready in the morning, took a walk up to the dairy farm at the top of the road, played in the garden, had a picnic lunch and then did some baking and cake decorating in the afternoon. All really simple stuff but it meant that the day was lovely and relaxed - and the outputs are amazing! The photos and videos are truly breathtaking- they completely capture both of our girls perfectly (almost angelic which is how we will love to look back on this time!!) My favourites at those that show our girls playing together and how their relationship is evolving as sisters - these are precious moments which we now have forever. The fantastic way in which Armands has captured us in our own home means we can see personalities and the relationships between us and our environment. They are perfect to share with friends and family, particularly those we don't see as often as we would like. It is quite daunting to invite a 'stranger' into your home for a whole day. You feel some pressure to have an immaculate home, well behaved children, an exciting itinerary and to perform on cue - but there is really no need as Armands really does make it so easy. He is house trained, polite, eats pretty much everything and gets involved and engaged in your day. The results are completely different to those of the studio- they capture so much more of a story and a memory. We recommend to everyone now. Myself and my partner Katie received the A-fotografy session as a gift from friends to celebrate the birth of our first baby. Prior to the baby being born we met Armands at his studio and he talked us through the various packages on offer. There were several options available and we decided upon a mini-session which was to take 1-2 hours. Once our baby daughter was born, we arranged the session. Baby Marcie was around a week old at this time. Armands provided detailed instructions on what to bring and directions on how to get there etc. The session went very smoothly and Armands was great with the baby. We even took our pet dog along and she was able to get involved in the photos! We received the high quality images via dropbox the following day and we are looking forward to getting them framed and up on the walls. It was also great to be able to share the photos with friends and family. I would definitely recommend a-fotography to anyone looking for some high quality family photography.

A few weeks before our baby's due date, we went to meet Armands in his studio for a chat and he explained how the session would run and how we should plan for it. Once Harris was born and we had our session date booked Armands sent us an email to remind us what we had to do beforehand which was so helpful in those first few days as they are quite a blur! On the day of the session we seemed to have a different little boy from the one we had had for the 2 weeks previous. He was grumpy, didn't want to chill out and sleep regardless of how much he was fed. At one point about an hour in to the session i was beginning to think we weren't going to get any pictures at all but both Armands and Abi (his lovely assistant) were so relaxed with Harris and Armands was able to recognise the point when we could begin. Our session was quite a challenging one from the outset with Harris's 2 teenage big brothers (now lovingly referred to as "the giggle brothers") and our 2 large dogs included. The whole way through Armands was completely calm and in control despite all the extra variables. He had a clear plan and vision for the images however was adaptable when Harris or the dogs decided they didn't agree with the plan. We all felt at ease throughout the session and we got all the images we hoped for. We were also really impressed by how quickly after the session our photos were ready to view. This took just 8 days. We went back to the studio and saw a selection in a slide show on a big projector screen and chatted through our options for purchasing the images. This was a recap of the information Armands already shared with us in our initial planning discussion so there were no surprises at this stage. At no point during this process did we feel pressured into purchasing more products that we intended. In fact we ordered exactly what we intended before we went to view the pictures. We loved the newborn session experience from start to finish and we are really happy with our beautiful pictures. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job.

Marrying in Scotland was our dream for long and in August 2015 we made our dream come true. As it were only Michael and me at our wedding, we wanted to get photographs from our great day that should be not only beautiful but they should also reflect our relationship and our personalities. We searched the Internet for wedding photographers around Edinburgh and looked at their galleries. Armands' photographs were absolutely stunning and the many different styles he uses are amazing. Michael and me were immediately sure that this guy should be our photographer - and crossed fingers that he would not be busy on our day. We used the contact form on his Internet homepage and he confirmed very quickly that he would be available on our wedding day. Armands asked lots of questions, e.g. if we would prefer certain styles, which times of the day to cover and many more. This was really important as we live in Germany and could not do a preparation photo session as many local couples would do. He went to our venues on his own to get a feeling for the place, really thoughtful! On our wedding day it was the first time we met him personally. When we were a little concerned as we both had no previous experience with professional photo sessions, this was gone within seconds. Armands made us very comfortable right from the start and it felt absolutely right, just like being photographed by a friend. A week after our wedding we received our photographs on a dropbox account - they were absolutely smashing! Armands has such a good eye for perspectives and each photo tells a story. Friends and family love our photographs and we too, of course! Armands was absolutely the right choice for us!

We had newborn photos done by Armands and could not have been happier with them, he was amazing with the newborn baby and kept her calm and content throughout. Even feeding and changing her! When we went back to see the photos we were looking at the cake smash display he had on his studio wall and we decided with such a great job of the newborn photos we would return for the cake smash session when she was 1. Before we even arrived Armands had given us full details of the session, what would happen and what we would need, and we also choose cake colours. The first part of the session was some portraits, again done in a relaxed manner at the pace of the baby only doing what she was comfortable with and we were again amazing with his rapport with a baby he hadn’t seen since she was a few days old. The next element was the cake smash itself…WOW! It was everything we expected but a lot more fun. She had a great time destroying and eating this massive muffin. Armands talked us through where we needed to be and when and again the phots were taken without any pressure on the little one, who was just having fun . The final bit was the bath, a perfect temperature of water and lots of bubble meant she enjoyed a splash, cleaned herself up and we got some brilliant bath photos into the bargain. Initially we had decided to just take a selection of photos from the session but on seeing the finished images it would have been impossible to choose, we bought them all and the price was very reasonable considering the time and effort obviously spent on preparing, executing and delivering a great day out for the little one and lasting memories perfectly captured for us! We can’t wait for baby 2 to do it all again!

We organised a cake smash photoshoot for our sons 1st birthday with A Fotografy and couldn't have been happier with the end result. Armands took new born photos the year before and at the time mentioned about the cake smash and on seeing some examples of these we looked forward to taking our son to have them taken for his 1st birthday. When organising the shoot we asked if we could bring our dog with us as we thought it would be nice to involve him. Armands was happy for him to be involved and up for the challenge - he seemed intrigued with how a cake smash with a baby and a dog would go! We were a bit anxious before about bringing our dog however he was allowed to roam around the studio and make himself at home in between shots and other than a close call with the cake before the shoot started all went well. The new born photos the year before showed us his relaxed style which we liked so it was an easy decision to go back. On the day of the shoot we debated about what outfits to bring and appreciated his advice and suggestions on what would work best for the photos we had in mind. We werent sure in advance how our son would enjoy the session however he seemed to really enjoy it and it was taken at his pace. He was really good with our son and made him laugh at the right times. We got all the photos we wanted on the day and more. Overall we couldn't recommend A Fotografy highly enough, the photos we now have are something we will treasure and happily show off.

I can not recommend Armands high enough. The whole experience of our maternity shoot was absolutely amazing, especially that I didn't know Armands and saw his work at Babes at the Womb, where I had few scans. While you are concious about your body and all the pregnancy changes it goes through, with Armands you can relax and feel beautiful no matter what-he knows his abilities and is technically and artistically one of the best photographers I have worked with. I decided to have the maternity shoot as I didn't have one with my first child and I regret not having any photos to cherish. We did a cake smash session for our son 3 years ago and were keen to do another for our daughter when she was about to turn one. I googled photographers in the local area and picked Armands for three key reasons - his portfolio is beautiful (cake smash and otherwise), his pricing is competitive and he was flexible with his availability meaning the shoot could happen on a Sunday afternoon. The session was a great laugh! Armands was fantastic with both children, playing with them, teasing them etc. He had toys to keep them occupied and endless funny noises to encourage that elusive smile. His energy was also impressive. We went through four or five different scenes including various backdrops. The end result of a wide variety of high quality images is a testament to this energy and of course his skill. My favourite part was the cake destruction of course and watching Evie exploring it (with the help of her brother). The last scene with the bath was an added bonus. Very amusing and beautiful images. We have just received the photographs from our second session with Armands - Lucas' 1st birthday cake smash and just like the first time (newborn Lucas) I love them all. I am in awe of how good this guy is at his job!! If you reading this because you are looking for a photographer then you really don't need to keep looking - you have found the best! Lucas is a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to eating and textures so I was a bit worried that things would not go well but the cake was delicious so Lucas ate enough to keep him going for 24 hours!! Armands suggested getting the other kids in on the action and the result is some great images, just to be awkward my favourite image was actually 2 kids from one photo and 2 kids from another so Armands merged them together and the result is perfect!!! Having 4 kids all in one place tends to be a bit crazy but the studio is such a lovely friendly environment that there is no stress at all. I can't wait to get my canvases up on the wall and try and find some wall space for more!

We have had two sessions with Amands at A- fotography and both times he was extremely professional and great to work with. The first was a newborn session in our own home. We thought this would be easier and more relaxed than a studio with no travelling and it was all of these. Both my husband and I were extremely sleep deprived! but Amands came, made everyone relaxed, helped out with our little one, and guided us to get the shots we were after. Amands was happy to work round the home conditions and was very relaxed about the unpredictable nature of a baby- he seemed very experienced with babies and gave us some good tips too! We have smaller versions of the pictures framed and also a larger one Amands did for us for the wall. We got some great shots of our newborn any boy and us as a family. Amands is flexible and is happy for you to choose shots you have seen in his portfolio and try and recreate them for you and also try new things using the home environment. He got a great mixture of shots with some posed and some less posed - they are both great to have but the less posed are special in the way they portray all the emotion - it just shows in our faces how much our little son means to us. They will all be so precious to look back on in years to come. We are so we are so glad we did the newborn shoot and that we chose Amands. One recommendation is that already we went back for a mommy mini session for mothers day. It was in the studio this time but was also really relaxed and good fun. Amands took time to get our little boy settled and really looked after him whilst trying hard to get some good shots for us. Again Amands was great and I'm very happy to recommend him. We will continue to go to Amands as our family grows up.

My husband and I were given our session at A-Fotografy as gift to get some nice photographs of our one year old daughter. My husband is not a fan of getting his photo taken and I don't particularly like it either.He had previously been to a photo shoot with his family when he was younger and had found the whole experience very awkward and cringe. It took some convincing from Armands that we should include some family photos of the three of us as a nice keep sake for Freya when she is older. So other than watching Freya get her pictures taken we weren't massively looking forward to it. As soon as we arrived we felt comfortable. Armands is warm and welcoming and good fun. We had such a great experience. Freya warmed to him instantly so trying to get a smile for the camera was easy. Max and I felt totally relaxed and didn't mind getting the family photos taken at all. Armands was professional and efficient and I couldn't fault any part of the service. When we returned to view the photos I had expected to view them on a laptop but Armands had set up a large screen and slideshow. Seeing the photos for the first time was really emotion. They were everything we could have hoped for and more. Freyas personality was captured beautifully but it was actually the family portraits that touched us the most, so much so that we ordered a huge black/white family canvas to hang in our Hall. We were so surprised that this is what we choose but I think we have been so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience we thought why not. Freya will definitely have a large keepsake now. Recommended by a friend who recently had a baby and couldn't be more pleased with the results. After having a c section I was anxious about this taking place a mere 10 days later, however once we arrived I knew we had no reason to worry, Armands made us feel at home and our baby Oliver was so content with him, he is definitely some sort of baby whisperer! We arrived at 10am and discussed what type of photos we wanted to go for, Oliver was fed and changed and then the shoot began. Nothing was too much hassle, even when Oliver decided to pee on daddy twice which subsequently went all over the floor it wasn't an issue. All of the individual shots of Oliver and family shots were done within 3 hours and we were back in the studio to see the finished product 3 days later. I cried when I saw the pictures they were just so beautiful and I'm so glad we made the effort to book this session even if it did feel like a bit much so soon after giving birth.

We have had a few studio photoshoots with Armands in the past capturing Elicia's first year and so when Armands suggested we try "A day in the life" type shoot we were very excited as we knew we would not be disappointed. We wanted relaxed, natural photos which would reflect Elicia's personality and we could keep forever. Armands was very accommodating to our daily routine and came over to our house at 7am so he could capture the moments from Elicia first waking up. Armands took the time to get to know Elicia again and instantly won her over with his fun and playful personality. That alone was an achievement as Elicia often shies away from people she doesn't see very regularly. Throughout the day Armands was both imaginative & patient & made us all feel very much at ease. We went to our local park where Elicia loves to play and just did what she loves doing. This was very different to any photoshoot we've experienced or heard of before. Armands was able to create beautiful real life images that capture the spirit and essence of our family. I feel like we had a very special time as a family, focussing on Elicia. It really felt like a family day, not a photoshoot. He was lovely to have around & his energy and optimism are second to none. By the end of the day Elicia was having so much fun with Armands that she started putting on her shoes to leave with him when he was going home! We were completely blown away by the end result. We now have beautiful keepsakes which have real memories attached to them as they were taken in our family home and reflect a typical Saturday visiting our local park and doing all the things we love doing as a family. We had some friends have their newborn shoots with armands and when we saw the results we were blown away. After paying twice for a shoots with different people and being disappointed we decided not to waste anymkre money and do it properly. It's true what they say if you buy cheap you buy twice and in our case it was 3rd time lucky! When we arrived at the studio my full trust was given as he was so welcoming and made us feel completely relaxed. We knew instantly this was going to be worth every penny. Upon seeing our photos, we also knew we wanted them all! He did various different backgrounds and outfit changes so we had a wide range of different styles and we made our family and friends calendars, Christmas cards frames with the USB stick we were given. Multiple choices with this option so it was a no brainer for us as you can print as many images as you like. Our photos are the best photos we have ever had and will definitely be back with baby number two!!! Highly recommend.

It was suggested to me by a work colleague that a newborn photoshoot was a great way to capture memories of baby when they are newborn. I saw an album when getting a 3D scan and thought the photos were beautiful. I thought it'd a great idea to include the whole family with Enzo the dog as well. I was concerned about how baby and dog would behave on the day as this was our first trip out of the house since coming home from the hospital. The session went really well and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Even Enzo the dog was sleeping on the sofa not long after arriving. Armands was great at putting us all at ease.
