After searching for a wedding photographer who could provide photographs which were different, edgy and a little more than the standard run of the mill - we found Ryan at Pretty Flamingo Weddings. Looking at his work, he had a way of capturing images that were not only beautiful and natural, they were also insightful and evoked more than just the standard wow reaction…. So we got in contact - Ryan has been very responsive and it was clear that he wasn’t just going to turn up on the big day and hope for the best. He takes time to build a relationship and understand what you want to be captured as a couple. A short time later myself, my fiancé and our mad furry pup went on an engagement shoot and much to our surprise, the whole experience was very relaxed and not awkward at all. We chatted, laughed and forgot that the camera was even there. Ryan provided lovely candid pictures which truly reflect who we are as a couple. We cannot wait to see what he captures in our big day!!!

We spent the day walking the grounds of our favourite estate with Ryan for our engagement shoot and never realised we would have so much fun! The day was relaxed and we enjoyed chatting away with Ryan on our walk, almost forgetting the camera was even there. To say we are pleased with the images would be an understatement! We are absolutely blown away with how Ryan managed to capture us as a couple and by how much we love every image! We aren’t a super affectionate couple so thought we would come across really awkward and cringe at the results but that couldn’t be further from the outcome Ryan delivered for us! The slideshow he created is perfect and our friends and family are also blown away! We received some snippets the same day and our full gallery and slideshow in a matter of days, Ryan even included some pictures of our puppy who joined us briefly at the beginning of our walk, we will treasure these forever more! We cannot thank you enough Ryan, the day has made us even more excited for our wedding day, with peace of mind our photography is in the best hands it could be🖤

Ryan Review: A Story. When you get engaged, there is a flurry of excitement. First, gotta ogle at the new bling, tell everyone you know, and get used to saying “my fiancé”. After that- in my case anyway- it went into planning mode… and battle stations. See, I had 3 months to plan the wedding, my own fault and choice. But Mom and Dad were coming from Canada and our gorgeous castle dream venue was available. Go Time. Now time to get everything else organized including a photographer. This is where I met Ryan. Here I was thinking, I will book a photographer just like I booked my décor or my flowers… how wrong I was. Once the contract was signed, I expected that to be it until the wedding day. But Ryan doesn’t just provide excellent product, service, value for money, basic photo packages etc. Nope. Ryan becomes an integral part of your process and big day. We met at a café, messaged constantly, talked ideas and thoughts, I even was able to get some other wedding stress of my chest (sorry Ryan but thanks for listening!) He would share in excitement, comfort stress, and be a friend throughout. The day arrives and I am genuinely excited to see him and Kim (our second shooter). Throughout the day he made me laugh, let me poke fun at his expense, and most importantly (to me), he blended with the family. He was never intrusive, never got in the way of anyone’s sightlines/pictures, but somehow got every shot I wanted from the best angles. (What I am saying is that he is basically a wizard…) Not only was he professional, punctual, and pretty incredible at his job: he mingled where needed. Which I LOVED. The parents of both myself and the Groom commented on how nice and pleasant he was to talk to and that they loved having him there. He became part of the celebrations while also providing leaps and bounds above my expectations. Ryan was on the floor, in the rain, walked ages to get to a spot I wanted to get to (thank you Kim for getting the car so we didn’t have to walk back!), and nothing was too much trouble. Ryan made me feel like the most special person from start to finish. I didn’t feel like another bride. I was never made to feel like I was one of many (or one of any!). It truly felt one-on-one and personal from the first message, to the video call, to the café, to the big day, and beyond. The pictures speak for themselves, a mixture of bright and airy, and dark and sexy make for a perfect mix for prints, posts, and sending Grandma. He caught smiles, tears, hugs, dancing…he captured life lived in the moment- what more could you ask for than that. Ryan is amazing. 10/10. 10,000/10. I cannot recommend him highly enough, not only as a photographer but as a damn-good human being. I genuinely didn’t think I would say such a thing about a wedding vendor, but here we are! Thank you so much for being part of my big day. I am so happy I met you and I could not be happier with our decision to hire you. Go be famous and shoot for Vogue!

We had our photoshoot in December with Pretty Flamingo Weddings and we still cannot stop admiring our beautiful photos!! Ryan was absolutely fantastic, he was in touch a lot running up to the day and was there for advice on things like what to wear and made me feel at ease about the shoot itself. I was nervous about how to pose or whether we would look awkward or uncomfortable and what I thought was going to be a morning of “striking a pose” actually turned out to be the loveliest morning of laughs and love with my other half. It was like meeting up with an old friend and sharing some laughs-almost as if the camera wasn’t even there! The result..... the most beautiful photographs I could have ever hoped for. Each one captured us so perfectly. He was able to snap our love so well through the lens and I couldn’t be happier!! Not only have we got these beautiful photos to treasure but also the memory of the photoshoot is just as special. Thank you so much Ryan!! Roll on the wedding day!!

We got married on 3rd October this year, under the circumstances we had to have a very small ceremony and a small reception at our house! However, we cannot recommend Ryan enough. He was so on the ball, so professional and overall a top bloke to work with. We were worried how things would work with such small numbers but Ryan blended into the background, while also engaging with our guests, getting involved, helping out where we needed help and became BFF's with my 80 year old Gran cracking jokes into the evening! The photos he delivered we absolutely stunning and we were blown away by the details he captured. In the lead up to the wedding he was on hand to answer any questions we had, no matter how ridiculous!
