I spent an evening with Harry and four others at Dunwich Heath for a workshop. The group was an ideal size to enable everyone to be able to ask questions and get help. This was a mixed ability group, but that didn’t matter as Harry tailored things so that everyone gained something from the evening. We walked to several points to get different views of the Heath and iconic cottages. Harry pointed out things to look for to get great pictures, and it’s not all about the camera and settings, but also to look up to see if the clouds are moving over the sun etc and how the changing light can alter the appearance of the photo. All in all everyone came away learning something as well as some good pictures. The after service is great too, I emailed him a couple of shots the next day and he came back with constructive comments. Harry is a nice and easy going guy who loves his photography and is happy to share that knowledge. I’ve shared some of my pictures from the evening with friends and got some great feedback. If you’re a beginner or been taking pictures for sometime you will get something from one of these classes…. Highly recommended, thanks Harry!

I attended Harry's Southwold Pier evening workshop on the 8th April 2022 which I really enjoyed and would highly recommend it to anyone considering doing it themselves. The small group workshop meant that we all received individual advice and support depending upon our individual experiences. I came away with a number of photographs that I am proud of. Harry is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about photography and has an easy going manner. The time went quickly and despite the cold and wet feet I would do it all again. Spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Harry. The tuition was excellent, I learnt a lot about my camera, and for the first time ever feel like I can use Manual mode and get good results which weren't just a happy accident! Really enjoyed the long exposure stuff we did too, and got some photos which I'm very happy with. Harry couldn't have been more helpful, I was able to ask questions on anything that occurred to me and nothing stumped him. I recently joined a camera club as a happy iPhone snapper and purchased my first DSLR camera. Harry came to give a talk to our club one evening and shared with us his passion for landscape photography. He is such an easy going and likeable chap and despite his young years he is very mature with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I decided to treat myself and book up a 1:1 day workshop with him. This was split over two 3 hour sessions which was perfect as it allowed us to visit various places on the East Anglian coast. I was blown away with the locations and the photographic opportunities they offered. Some real hidden gems of places you wouldn’t think to visit on your own. Harry is a great tutor with clear and easy to follow instruction, tailor-making our sessions to suit my ability and areas I wanted to cover. He was always happy to go over anything I didn’t understand and answer any questions. The booking process was seamless with communications and logistic arrangements all spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend booking a workshop with Harry, whether it be a 1:1 or part of a group session. His knowledge and professionalism would suit all abilities and he has many repeat clients who clearly love to share his enthusiasm. I will likely be booking another session myself!

I booked a 1-2-1 workshop with Harry, for myself but also asked if my 7 year old son could tag along given his developing love of photography, and from the very first communication Harry was very comfortable with my son coming along. Communication prior to the workshop was superb, with emails and a phone chat to ask what I actually wanted to get out of the day, and topics we wanted to shoot. We met Harry at Southwold, and then visited Sizewell and Shingle Street, all superb locations. From the start Harry was friendly and engaging, handing over filter set to my son for him to use (total winner), asking both me and my son what we wanted to get from the day, and the types of other photography we were interested in, the winning factor for me was that Harry got down to my sons level when working with him. Harry's method of teaching is superb, he sets you the challenge, to see what you are seeing, then tweaks what you have to improve your vision before offering a different composition and throughout he is providing tips and technical explanation. Like I've said Harry's engagement with my son was superb, while I was setting up a composition Harry was off working with my son, who has come back with some superb seascapes including one with no guidance at all from Shingle Street that I'm very jealous of. Harry's division of time between me and my son was very well done, and without effort he appeared just as one of us was about to ask a question or needed help. I will be attending another one of Harry's workshops in the future, and would highly recommend a 1-2-1 with him to anyone wanting to improve their skills, and everyone should want to improve their skills.

Highly recommended. Attended a 'Secret Essex Coast' course this week and as it's the first time I've attended a photography tuition session I wasn't sure what to expect. I was immediately put at ease due to Harry's friendly & approachable manner. He talked logically and methodically through each part of the session which enabled me, a landscape photography novice, to quickly get to grips with the theory and settings required. I was most struck though by Harry’s enthusiasm and encouragement and he clearly knows his subject matter; quickly working around the challenges that my ageing camera presented. Flarford Mill - what a morning. Great workshop with Harry. Harry's teaching technique is very calm and relaxed it didn't seem that we were on a workshop more like a group of friends out with our cameras enjoying ourselves. I came away at the end with some great shots and so happy with what Harry had shown me. The Histogram is no longer a mystery, as for showing me how to focus in live view with the joystick, that's just changed my world. Now looking at other workshops with him. Take a chance and book a workshop.... you won't be disappointed.

I recently attended Harry's 'Getting it right in camera' webcast and found it to be really interesting, and informative. I've been an owner of Harry's "A photo guidebook to East Anglia's Coast" for some time, and have used it numerous times to give me ideas and suggestions when I've been out and about on the Norfolk coast. It's a great book and where I'd not normally give some scenes a second look, it makes me look again and try techniques I'd not have considered. Short-Long Exposure is now something that is firmly fixed in my Arsenal of techniques. Also, taking the same photograph with a range of varying exposure lengths is something I now regularly, the effects on moving water is much better than I'd anticipated. Stimulating, rewarding, informative, and great fun. Yes, I have just returned from Harry’s Secret Norfolk Coast 2-day workshop. Covering a variety of interesting and different locations Harry’s knowledge of the area is absolute, and visiting the locations is perfectly timed to coordinate with the tides, weather, and sunrise or sunset. Clearly a skilled photographer, he is personable, helpful, and makes time to assist all participants with any query regarding camera settings, composition, or appropriate use of filters. He takes time to explain how to get the best out of each location and leads by demonstrating several sample compositions. I personally found this latter point invaluable, not by way of copying, but by learning the best approach to the scene and maximising its opportunities. I have no doubt I will book a future workshop with Harry and can recommend him wholeheartedly.

Had a 121 with Harry today travelling to the Norfolk Broads on a cold and clear morning. As an ex teacher I was very impressed with Harry as a person and educator. He has a warm and personable manner and is talented and knowledgable and very able to offer help and guidance on my Canon kit and scene selection. Being a bit old I was worried that we might walk too far but he was sensitive to my needs and ensured I was safe at all times. I learned so much, and this included simple things that you only find out from professional and skilled people. He was able to help me get good photos in camera as I see no point in too much time post processing. Had an excellent time and I'm looking forward to the next Dawn till Dusk booking. With an early morning start in order catch the sunrise, and with just three of us on the course, it meant that we all got 1 to 1 help and guidance from Harry. A lovely late afternoon and early evening spent in the company of Harry and three friendly ladies on the Dunwich in Bloom Workshop. Harry is very professional and very knowledgeable with regards to the use of a camera and showing you how to find the best compositions available. I attended a small group workshop, with Harry, over Flatford Mill... Nature wasn't behaving with little signs of a sunrise. And the mist that started to come in. Unfortunately never materialised, But Harry explained how and what to do if this had of happened, he also very quickly corrected my doing things wrong to make a fairly nice picture become a stand out picture.. Harry is a fantastic tutor, patient and very experienced with camera work, helping me fine tune some of my basic camera skills. Harry took a series of"candid" photos of our Dog day held at the fabulous Kersey mill and managed to capture the spirit of the dogs and handlers, as well as introducing interesting use of texture, compersition and colour into some of the images. Made a great change and far more interesting than the normal run of the mill dog show photos. This was the first time we had met Harry so he didn't know the dogs or handlers and with numerous people and dogs everywhere it was not an easy task. My wife purchased a 1-2-1 photography tuition session with Harry as a birthday present. I met Harry at Bawdsey Quay in Suffolk where we spent the time composing long exposure seascape shots. Harry is an extremely personable young man , and clearly understands the technicalities of landscape photography. I was on social media trying to find some courses for my husband for Christmas and I stumbled across Harry's images. I began to follow him to see whereabouts in the East he was travelling to. I began making enquires on what he could master for my hubby and as we got chatting it came across the passion he has for the subject. So I immediately booked for a 1:2:1 workshop during the holidays as we are both teachers. 👩‍🎓As I was coming to escort hubby and was happy to wait for him Harry suggested that I joined him too. Therefore the 1:2:1 became 2:1; with the dilemma of no DSLR [me] he offered the use of his [which was much appreciated]. Harry has a very professional approach to all aspect of his business and puts you at ease right from the start. He has exceptional communication skills from the emails of the destinations he picks and the explanations on how to use the equipment are clear and not 'jargonised'. He is an inspirational young photographer [gentleman] who has a kindred spirit with nature. An unbelievable eye for moody landscapes, colour, weather formations, animal tracks, and natures lines through the fields or near the edge. For a young photographer, his knowledge of the equipment he is using and other models is phenomenal especially the tips and tricks we both took on board [sorry about note taking too!! - old age!!] Landscape photography! I would highly recommend this flourishing young photographer, Harry!🙂

This was my first workshop with Harry which was a sunrise session at Southwold Pier -I came across Harry from his book -A photo guidebook to East Anglia’s coast.-I had to cancel one but he was kind enough to transfer my booking -he is really friendly and knowledgeable-I had never used the Lee Big stopper and he brought a range filters along with him.Got some great shots of the pier and ling exposure images with the Big stopper filter he lent me Have booked another early morning session next month Good value and worth the effort of getting up to catch the sunrise after a two hour drive !
