I've been on a couple of these walks now, and intend to do more. (Sorry Liam, you'll be fed up of me!) There is a really good balance of enjoying the experience at the place you are visiting along with getting an interesting shot and learning new techniques. Liam has great local knowledge, so you learn some interesting facts along the way! The format with scheduled stops at points along the way gives time to observe, or to get guidance if needed. I loved that my only having a camera phone wasn't an obstacle to joining in. Such a positive experience.

Liam at Neon Light Photography is set to carve out a market with his approach to photography. The "walks" are free of charge and you are invited to pay a gratuity at the end. The walk I went on was the River of Light on the Liverpool waterfront. Liam arranged a meeting place and greeted each participant as they arrived, he then explained the format of the evening and off we set. At each location he explained where to photograph from and what to look for, resulting in a very pleasant and informative evening. Thank you

It was a privilege to be in Liam's group for the sunset walk to Hilbre Island. I was impressed with the whole experience. It started with Liam's excellent website and communications. You have all the information you need and it is so easy to join. The whole experience of the island, the scenery and the sunset was exquisite. Liam looked after us all really well and had many interesting local tales to tell. He helped us all with our photos and equipment, and took the time to have a little chat with everyone on the walk. As a bonus I met some really nice people, and the photos I took have amazed me. I will really look forward to booking on another trip as it is one of the nicest things I have ever done. My sister and I did the Hoylake sunset walk recently. We met Liam as arranged, we only had the camera on our iPhones. Liam was very informative about tide times etc. He helped us to improve the photos we were taking. Due to weather the sunset was quite short however the scenery, cloud formation, lighting was brilliant. Took some great pics. Had a beautiful walk. Had the best time ever. Planning our next one already

I have no hesitation in recommending Neon Light Photography. Liam is an excellent teacher/guide. I am a complete beginner - all the gear; no idea! Liam was very patient & answered my questions wrt getting the best pictures. Not only that but he has a wealth of knowledge on the local landscape and history which adds perfectly to the walk. Liam took us on a photo walk to Hilbre (and back!) in the evening. It was relaxing and informative. What I realised later was that he timed each part of the walk to match the gradually setting sun, ending up at the far end of Hilbre just before the sun was due to set. By the time we returned to the shore it was near dark so it was reassuring to have Liam's guidance! So highly recommended!!! And he supplied such fantastic weather too!

Liam was at the meeting point in good time, wearing his distinctive neon jacket. I only had the camera on my iPhone but I still came away with some wonderful photos of the beach and sky and shells thanks to Liam’s guidance and encouragement. The weather hasn’t been promising during the day but in return we had the stormy sky and the drifts of sand on the beach. All this plus two unpressured hours experiencing the elemental powers of nature on our own doorstep. A brilliant evening!

After a day of changeable weather, I joined a photo walk on Hoylake Beach not really expecting very much. How wrong I was! The sunset didn't materialise because of cloud cover, but thanks to Liam's help and expertise I got some really good photos. He pointed out possible angles and views and was always ready and willing to give advice. A great evening, and one I hope to repeat soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Hilbre Island where one of the intentions was to photograph the three islands from low tide to high tide then remain on Hilbre till the receding tide was safe to cross. Liam’s background knowledge together with his collection of old monochrome images helped create a picture of the history in bygone times. I have now been on 3 photo walks with Neon Light Photography:- Talacre Sunset, Nantile Ridge Sunrise & Hilbre Island Sunset. Liam is passionate about the areas visited and landscape photography sharing his knowledge (local area/photography) to provide optimal opportunities to get some great images. This is a safe way to explore these areas because all the planning has been considered for you (weather conditions/lighting conditions/tide times) by an experienced guide. I would recommend these walks for anyone at any level of photography and I look forward to taking part in future walks.
