Amazing experience with Rachel and Ruby Lights! I contacted Rachel about doing a boudoir shoot ahead of my wedding as a present for my husband-to-be. I was quite nervous as this is very much out of my comfort zone but she put me at ease from our first call and I ended up having so much fun on the day. The make up artist did a great job and Rachel makes everything so easy, gently directing you into position and she is so passionate and excited about the process- it really shines though. I left feeling awesome and was so excited to see the finished product. I now have seen my gallery of photos and was blown away- Rachel really has a gift for showing women at their best and if you need a confidence boost then go for it! Will be such a great keepsake and I wish I had done it sooner- can't wait to give them to my Husband!! Thank you so much Ruby Lights!

We cannot recommend Rachel at Ruby lights enough!! Following a recommendation from my sister after seeing Rachel’s work on Instagram, we booked Ruby lights for our first ever maternity shoot. From the very beginning Rachel made us both feel incredibly comfortable (quite a task with my shy husband!), I felt so comfortable I ended up doing a fully nude photo which I never would have done in my wildest dreams! Communication was always excellent and I absolutely loved having my hair and make up done and choosing from all the incredible outfits. I felt like a million dollars which is quite hard to achieve when heavily pregnant! The photos Rachel took were beautiful, timeless and artistic, not your typical maternity photo shoot poses which is what we loved. Based on our maternity experience, we went back to Rachel for our newborn shoot (cancelling a booking with another photographer) and I’m so glad we did. The photos are absolutely gorgeous and Rachel couldn’t have been more accommodating, patient or friendly on the day. We’re really looking forward to going back for our Christmas shoot in a few months time. If you’re looking for a maternity, newborn or family photographer to capture any of your special moments we absolutely recommend Rachel 100%. There isn’t a more talented photographer around, you won’t be disappointed!

I recently did a Boudoir photoshoot for celebrate the end of my 20s and to try and get some body confidence after having my little girl. I felt so at ease during the photo shoot with really clear direction, it was such a lovely day and I felt treated and loved the hair and makeup look! still I wasn’t sure I’d like the photos after and I can’t even believe they are me, this has given me a huge confidence boost to embrace my body and myself. Rachel did our maternity, beach photoshoot - she was attentive, patient and so easy to get along with. Loved being in her company and she really listened to me when I told her of my insecurities (unfortunately chins tend to get a little larger when heavily pregnant 😂) and she very kindly and professionally edited the photos so I looked more myself. We used Ruby Light Portraits for our newborn/family shoot and our experience was exceptional! Rachel was very professional and personable. She was SO patient with my newborn Sienna who was refusing to sleep for her shoot and she was also able to engage my 4 year old daughter after a long day at school. Our shoot ran over the allotted time but it did not effect Rachel’s ability to get the perfect shot! Every photo of our family was natural and exactly on point with the look we requested! As a mom, I am not often in photos as I am usually the one behind the camera but Rachel captured moments that I will treasure forever. It's hard to put in to words how perfect having a photo shoot with Rachel at Ruby Lights really is. Rachel came highly recommended from a family member when we wanted to have a new born photo shoot undertaken after the birth of our daughter and we are delighted that we were given said recommendation because the experience was the perfect balance of professional, relaxed, and engaging. I am someone who has never set foot in a photography studio or had anything close to a professional photo shoot and I was made to feel completely at ease, as were my partner and our at the time 11 day old daughter. As any new parent knows it can seem really daunting and going out for the first few times with your new born can seem scary. Rachel was able to instantly solve these fears with her welcoming and calm nature. From the word 'go' Rachel made us feel welcome, and engaged with us with a kind of patience and professionalism that money simply can't buy. In addition to our shoot was hair and make up for my partner, who is stunning to begin with but left me breathless when she came out to the studio. Whilst my partner was having her hair and makeup done I was able to witness the careful handedness and artistic focus that baby photography demands as Rachel set about taking a froggy photograph of our daughter. As the shoot progressed we found ourselves included fully, where we had several photos of all three of us as a family, and shots of both my partner and daughter together, as well as myself and my daughter. The idiom of "a picture speaks a thousand words" rings especially true here and with us in general as a family. Rachel was able to perfectly capture us and whilst not trying to sound too over the top, the feeling of love between myself, my partner, and our daughter. What we got were not simply photographs of the highest quality but they are also memories that we can cherish for our lifetimes.

I've had 2 photo shoots with Rachel, both of which were amazing! When my son was a week old we had a newborn shoot done and the photos of my son and his big sister are just incredible. I visited Ruby Lights Portraits in May 2019. I had a Boudoir Shoot with Rachel. As you can imagine the nerves were there but evaporated instantly with Rachel's Calm manner, she tailored my photoshoot specifically for me, taking into account my insecurities about my body. I had a lovely make up artist who I have continued to use since for my nights out and celebrations. The photoshoot was very relaxing, full of smiles and laughter and a complete confidence boost (just from Rachel!!). I’ve had two photo shoots with Rachel at Ruby Lights a maternity shoot & a newborn/sibling shoot. They have both been an amazing, relaxing and fun experience. Rachel is extremely friendly and welcoming to her studio, nothing was too much trouble and she has such a positive vibe your instantly put at ease. My maternity photo shoot was so professional with the choice of the most beautiful maternity gowns and the added bonus of a full make over, rachel boosted my confidence and made me feel so glamorous. Rachel from Ruby Lights Portraits is amazing. I had a Boudoir shoot in December this year. I wanted to treat myself after losing a lot of weight and toning up. I was sick of having photos of myself around the house which I didn’t like looking at and really liked the style of photography at Ruby Lights. I had been looking at Rachel’s boudoir page for over a year and thinking about having a shoot but wasn’t quite confident enough. When I finally plucked up the courage I knew Rachel was the photographer for me as we spoke on the phone prior to the shoot and she made me feel at ease and less nervous. On the day of my shoot my make up and hair looked amazing which was done by the fantastic Sachelle. I didn’t recognise the woman in the mirror, i looked gorgeous. Turning 40 on 31st March marked the start of a new journey of self discovery and love for myself. I booked a Boudoir shoot with Rachel to mark the occasion, to do some thing to empower me, I am a surviver of DV and suffer with long term health conditions. Rachel delivered on so many levels. So this was my second shoot with Rachel. I had my previous shoot a few years ago which I loved, however I was still lacking the confidence in my body despite the photos turning out beautiful. Since the first shoot I had BA surgery and lost some weight so i decided to try again with another shoot as my confidence was starting to increase. Well what can I say, the day was amazing as expected. Sachelle made me look and feel beautiful with her makeup skills so my confidence was already on a roll. Then came the shoot. As always Rachel made me feel comfortable and laugh throughout. I had an amazing day. The next step was viewing the photos. I knew that Rachel was an amazing miracle worker however I am my own biggest self critic so I was sceptical because of my body and how it may look despite Rachel skills. The slideshow started and wow what can I say, I had never felt such joy and pride looking at photos of myself. I loved every single photo which if you know me that is a huge feat. Rachel had done the impossible, made me discover self love. It was quite emotional as silly as it sounds, because despite photos I take of myself and how I come across on social media, deep down I still never really loved my body or me but how Rachel captured me turned that on it’s head. I can never thank Rachel enough and Sachelle for making me look and feel this good about myself. A Truely deserved 5 stars for Rachel, and I wish I could give more. This is my second pregnancy and i only wish I could have met and had a maternity shoot with Rachel in both pregnancies. After arranging a last minute shoot with Rachel to use and try the beautiful dresses, I would have never imagined being able to feel so beautiful and relaxed. From the moment I met Rachel at the beginning of the shoot, she made me feel so comfortable being in my own skin, being heavily pregnant can made you feel conscious of your own body, and changing from gown to gown can be awkward, but Rachel had thought of everything to make sure the experience was smooth and gave me the confidence to do it. Especially to have a shoot on location in a public place can make you feel self conscious, but I did not feel that at all, she made the atmosphere calm, fun and I loved having the photos taken. The results are absolutely stunning, the shots make me feel empowered as a woman and beautiful which is exactly what I always wanted from a maternity shoot. I would recommend any lady who would like to have such precious and beautiful memories of their body at such a special time in their life, to have a maternity shoot with Rachel. I can't recommend Ruby Light Portraits enough! In prep for a Boudoir shoot messages and chats on the phone made me feel so comfortable before I was put me at ease straight away. I think I was smiling from the moment I turned up. My hair and makeup was fantastic and I felt amazing. Photos were a present for husband.... But of course mostly for me! The whole photoshoot was relaxed, easy and comfortable. As expected, Rachel is a complete professional and got me positioned in the most flattering ways and poses. I went to Rachel last year for a boudoir shoot, I had been wanting one for years but always put it off. After having my second child and struggling with my new weight and insecurities from my teen years, I decided to book a shoot. From the first initial contact Rachel was absolutely lovely, closer to the day Rachel checked in with more information and reassurance. On the day of the shoot I finally got to meet Rachel and sachelle my make up artist. I was slightly nervous and talked their ears off whilst getting my make over. Sachelle is a queen at what's she does and I looked amazing and I used her for other occasions too. The shoot started and my nerves just went, Rachel will guide you into positions that are comfortable and natural. We laughed throughout the session and even all this time I love looking at my photos and I just love my body. For the first time since I was 14 years old I'm not judging my body or wishing to change anything. I wish I did this sooner and I will rebook again another time. I would love some pictures with my husband involved.

I have been to Ruby Lights twice now for the boudoir shoots and I cannot fault Rachel or the fabulous MUAs that she has working with her (especially Laura who I’ve had both times) the first time I was so nervous with no body confidence what so ever and she was just as chilled as a cucumber. You chat and drink tea while you have your Make up done. She has some amazing outfits and accessories that you can use during the shoot. She does everything for you, she even poses you so you relax very easily. The whole experience had the best atmosphere. The finished items where amazing and made me look at myself in a positive light which I have never done before. Because of doing these shoots I will wear clothing out that I’ve always wanted to but been far to scared to do so. I have already decided that I am going to come back for the maternity shoot and new born shoot when I eventually have kids! I love this woman with all my heart and I love how she makes all these nervous, beautiful women like me feel so incredible about themselves. Honestly, you won’t regret doing a shoot with Rachel at Ruby lights ^.^

I have just had my slideshow from my recent boudoir photo shoot and all I can say is 'WOW' When I turned up for my shoot I have never been so nervous, this is really out of my comfort zone (I am sure there are many more women in the same position) but by the time I had my makeover and all set for my first photo Rachel made me feel at ease and my nerves quickly went away. Rachel is amazing at giving instructions and the shoot was so much more than just having a photo session - it has given me so much confidence and I walked out of there on a high. I had a boudoir shoot with Rachael and all I can say is wow. After years of being in her Facebook group and seeing others having theirs done, I finally plucked up the courage to book in my shoot as a surprise for my hubby’s Birthday!! So many friends have said do it you won’t be disappointed and they were absolutely right! It’s the best experience I’ve had. The whole shoot from start to finish was so comfortable and relaxed. I have read lots of other ladies reviews about their experience with Rache at Ruby Lights and you really have to believe them.Right from my initial email and phone call i felt at ease, Rache was prepared to talk as much or as little as i wanted beforehand.On the day instantly Sashelle my MUA and Rache made me very welcome and relaxed.We chatted and got to know bits about each other whilst the shoot was planned.I had the option to choose my make up from very subtle to totally out there but no pressure , its whatever you are comfortable with. The reveal was amazing as you walk in with a fresh moisturised face and then suddenly you are this very glam person and that gives you the start of a real buzz, which grows and grows and you go through the outfits that have been prepared. When Rache starts shooting its just the two of you and she makes you feel very confident giving guidance and direction to make sure the results will be stunning. And they are stunning, i hate photos of myself, ive always been 'big' although slimmed down a little im no waife, ive had 4 children who are all in their twenties and ill,be 60 next year ... The experience and the results are amazing, I would highly recommend it once in your life although maybe twice would be good 😍

After having a horrendous pregnancy I was really anxious about having my photo taken but I really wanted to have some form of keepsake/memory of my bump and pregnancy and when I came across Rachel’s page and her stunning photographs I couldn’t help but book in a session. When communicating with Rachel I informed her of my worries and concerns and from first communication she put my mind at ease. At my maternity photoshoot I received such a beautiful makeover I felt totally transformed and having the selection of outfits to chose from provided by Rachel made the whole process a highly more relaxing and enchanting experience. After years of thinking about doing a boudoir shoot and never having the confidence, I got the courage from seeing my friends reaction to her photos with Rachel. The way she spoke about her whole experience and seeing her photos made me immediately message Ruby Light to book in! I thought the reward of having these photos of me, is far greater than any fears I had of doing the shoot, and I was sooo right! On arrival I was greeted by a friendly face, and 2 lovely make up and hair ladies, I showed Rachel the clothing I brought and we went through the stunning bits that were laid out on the table. We discussed different backgrounds and what would look nice with what and then Laura and her daughter matched my hair and make up to the clothing and look I wanted. I never let anyone do my make up as I'm so fussy, but I was super happy with how I looked, Laura and her daughter are very talented! I then got changed into my first outfit and it was just me and Rachel in the large homely feeling room. One of the things I was most worried about was how to pose as I'm quite awkward but Rachel told me where to put each finger and toe and placed my hair just right so I didn't really have to do anything! We had some right giggles and I felt so relaxed and never once felt awkward which really took me by surprise as it seems such an alien thing to do with a stranger?! Once we had finished all the outfit changes, background changes and messing about with poses, I got dressed and went home with my face and hair looking fabulous I can't really explain the feeling when I left the shoot, I felt totally liberated and really proud of myself for doing it, regardless of the outcome. When I received my email link to my photos, which was very quick, I was anxious about what my husband would think and how I would feel seeing myself in this perspective. I was absolutely over the moon to say the least, Rachel has done such an amazing job im not even going to apologise for this long review! As a mum of 4, wife of 7 years and not feeling as good as I did when I was 18 (like most!) I actually feel sexy again. It's a feeling that I think is absolutely priceless when you never have time for yourself, between school runs and cooking and cleaning and watching my weight, I could just be me again and I will treasure these photos my whole life. Thankyou so much Rachel you really are amazing and I would recommend your boudoir shoot experience to any women of any age, any size and any confidence level to just go for it! I'm so glad i did xxx

What can I say about my shoot with Rache… I was absolutely blown away! I wanted to do a photoshoot to celebrate my recent weight loss, as well as my 30th birthday, and whilst I initially asked for recommendations for a gym photo shoot (to help show off some newly discovered muscle) I was inundated with recommendations for Ruby lights photography. After a quick google search I couldn’t stop staring at Rache‘s work and I knew I had to get a shoot done! The experience was incredible, was made to feel like A total star every step of the way. Between the makeover and the photo shoot itself I was given an unbelievable confidence boost and the way Rache literally talked (and walked!) me through all of the poses meant I didn’t feel awkward at any point… she made the whole process so easy! Before I’d even seen my pictures I was 99% sure that I would want them all, Rache was just so excited about the whole shoot that I couldn’t wait to see the outcome…The pictures did not disappoint and as expected there was no way I could choose just a couple of them! I guess that I am one of Rachel’s oldest Boudior shoots at he ripe age of 69! was very nervous as I’m quite a large lady and not terribly supple. However, I was made very comfortable by her encouraging manner that I soon relaxed into it. To have makeup and hair done in the most flattering way is a joy! It was fun posing this way and that with her guidance too. My husband is thrilled with my pictures and has one in his workshop as well as hanging in our bedroom.. such a lovely sight as I rise each day to see the me that I am inside and not the bad hair, feeling fat and unlovely in the mirror first thing in the morning! I advise all my lady friends to treat themselves and their hubby’s to one of these sessions as a reminder that we ARE still beautiful and desirable. I don't know where to start! If there were more stars to give I really would. Rachel really is the most warm, welcoming, compassionate person I have ever met. She does her work with such professionalism. I have used Rachel's photography service 3 times and I dont have one complaint. I was a bag of nerves and rachel does everything in her power to make you feel comfortable be it a phone call, email, text etc. She really does get to know you on an individual level (which me and my family really love ) You never feel rushed, pressured or bombarded with products you don't need/want on the spot. (previous companies have made me and my family feel uncomfortable, rushed -in and out and bombarded us with ways they want to take your money). I love Rachel's ethos of every woman being involved in photos, if your like me and are always the one rushing around taking the photos you'll look back and panic what have you left behind of yourself for others (talking from experience of how precious time is ) The other ethos being that every woman should feel incredible and love what they have. I struggled to walk through the door for my first ever bodiour shoot but I came out wanting to strutt my stuff. Rachel really did make me feel special. I have always suffered with anxiety and depression so for someone to take the time to help and listen without judgement was incredibly important. Every little detail has been thought of from makeovers, outfits, home from home environments, affordable price tags etc. I could say so much, but trying to keep it brief. Where to start... I can not thank Rachel enough for my boudoir session. I now have images that I will treasure forever! Since my session I’ve had a complete change on how I view myself. Prior I was just a Mum if two. There is a fairly noticeable age gap between my children. I had only just started to feel back to “normal” and started to finally loose my baby weight from my first only to find out I was expecting. Since having my baby last summer I’ve struggled to look at my body in a positive way. Until now... I can’t stop looking at these pictures. I couldn’t believe it was me. I’m now feeling amazing!!! The session was so much fun! The make over I loved. I’m fairly picky about my make up and I had worried about looking too false. It didn’t. The girls know exactly what they’re doing! I was extremely nervous. Rachel made me feel at ease. We laughed our way through it as she Guided me threw every shot & told me how I should be posing. From facial expression to where to put my hands. She remained calm at all times despite me loosing my focus or erupting Into uncontrollable giggles. She is a very patient and talented lady! I stubbled across Rache's page after seeing her photos come up on Facebook. They were amazing and always something I'd wanted to do. I made it my goal that one day I'd have the confidence to do it. So here I am 1 year later, nearly 2 stone gone and from size 16 to 12.While I still feel I have a way to go yet, my confidence has improved massively. The day of my session I was so excited but also incredibly nervous. As soon as I met Rache and Sasha I felt so welcome. The new studio was done up so lovely and even had a nice greeting for me on her box light, it's the little things that make the difference. I absolutely loved my makeover experience, sasha is so talented, made me feel amazing. Then it was time for the photoshoot. It took a while before I felt the nerves disappear, but enjoyed every second. Rache was great at directing me on poses and checked that i was okay throughout. I never felt rushed and was never pushed to do anything I didn't feel comfortable with. I left her studio on cloud nine, I felt so confident and just couldn't wait for the results. I can't tell you how much I love my photos. They have gone way beyond my expectations. "What can I say... well, I lack hugely in confidence as I am a big girl size 22, my friend Kelly had photos done with Rachel & they are amazing! I said straight away I would never have the confidence to do that but after thinking about it I thought 'maybe I just need to try it', so I contacted the very lovely Rachel & she helped me to find my lady balls! I truly hate my arms, thighs, chin but mainly my tummy as it hangs over my thighs & I do not look good at all in any type of underwear. I usually hide it with long tops etc & hide my body from my Hubby all the time. Also I have a disability called Primary Lymphoedema in my right arm so I have one hand/arm bigger than the other which plagues me. I was super nervous about my shoot to the point I dreamt about it, turning up un-shaved, all my new lingerie left at home & hating myself in the photos afterwards (how wrong would I be). Once again Rachel stepped in to reassure me, she is just so lovely, supportive & understanding. So the day I receive my proof photos: firstly all I could say is 'you’ve sent them photos to the wrong person they are defo not me! Where was I hiding?' lol. I can’t believe I went from being so nervous to these totally amazing pictures that I now can’t stop looking at!!! I was in Majorca when I got the proofs so I FaceTimed my hubby to take a look as I had done this as a surprise for him & he was over the moon with the pics, he said that’s how he sees me always. You are so good at what you do Rache & making real women feel comfortable in their own bodies. I am still in shock at how lovely I look in the pictures thank you so much & even I have hair envy ha ha xx
