Choosing a wedding photographer is no easy challenge however, we knew that we wanted natural photos and after meeting John and instantly clicking, we knew that he would be perfect for our day. We were not wrong... John was a pleasure to have at our wedding - most of the time you did not know he was there but those who did notice him had nothing but kind words to say! As for the photos, we were blown away. John has a fantastic ability to capture those special 'moments' and the atmosphere of the day, that make you want to relive it over and over again. As for the Still Film - we are so pleased to have added this in at the last minute. We love the photos, but seeing them stitched together to music, with parts of the vows and speeches over the top is something we will truly treasure forever. It gets better each time we watch it and there is never a dry eye in the house! Thank you so much John!

We could not recommend John more as a wedding photographer. From initial contact through to sending us our photos, he was kind, friendly and polite. He was absolutely fantastic on the day, very present and attentive without being overbearing or overly-directive. He let us take the day as we wanted, was incredibly patient with the children in our group photos, and made us feel completely at ease. We have now witnessed John's magic at work in two of our children's weddings, and on both occasions he proved himself a master of his profession. Just as he promised, he was discreet and utterly respectful of the nature of the event, but sudceeded in capturing the range of experiences and emotions at both weddings with breathtaking skill. The pictures he produced are technically superb, but above all they are beautiful and authentic, with a natural ease and grace that renders them deeply satisfying. His eye for composition is matched by his talent in compiling and editing video recordings which mix still images with music and excerpts from wedding speeches. Like a great film, you can watch these little masterpieces over and over again, always discovering new treats. John was a delight to meet and talk with, and I could not recommend him more highly!

John Lennie photographed our wedding in October. There are such a host of photographers out there that it can be really hard to make a decision, and we were referred to John by a friend. After going through his bio and Instagram we liked his photojournalist approach to capturing the various moments throughout the day. John's aesthetic really stands out as an honest and unobtrusive portrayal of a wedding day. On the day it felt like John was just a part of the wedding party. We kept posed photos to a minimum (as he recommends) and trusted John to capture everything and we just got on with it! The photos arrived just over 7 weeks after the wedding. They are absolutely amazing, and we are delighted with our decision to work with John. The day doesn't look airbrushed or posed, it just looks like the fun, family and friend filled event that it was. Don't hesitate to get in contact with John. He was very communicative and efficient throughout the process, and we couldn't want more from a photographer! We will treasure the moments he captured for the rest of our lives.

Based on a recommendation, my partner and I asked John to take photos for our wedding. We live in Glasgow and he came all the way from Surrey to do the job. He did a fantastic job, and we couldn't be happier with the finished results. His style of photography is very subtle, he is unobtrusive and there are few staged shots. In each photograph he managed to capture the moment and feeling so well. They are the perfect souvenir to what was the happiest day in our lives so far. As an optional extra, he also made audio recordings of the ceremony and after dinner speeches. He then created a short film clip comprising of images from the wedding and audio excerpts from the ceremony and speeches. It's really good. John is a real pleasure to work with, he communicated with us via email and then just before the wedding he came round to our flat to go over all the details for our wedding day. If we ever have another function we will be asking him to take the photos! I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks John for your hard work and great results.

Booking John Lennie as our wedding photographer has to be up there with one of the best decisions we made in the organisation of our wedding. From the very beginning, he showed an interest in who we are as people and what we genuinely wanted from our wedding photos. It was refreshing to see a photographer passionate about capturing natural moments between people, wanting to portray the authenticity of a relationship rather than a posed, projection of a relationship. As you can see from John Lennie’s work, not only does he manage to capture rare snippets of moments between people at a wedding, but he also does this with such style and sensitivity - making these moments come alive! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our photographer - having a photo-shy family, it was important for us that people weren’t fazed by the photographer at our wedding, and they certainly weren’t due to John Lennie craftily blending in with the guests. However, this did not compromise the quality of the photos - all of which are beautifully captured. It is great to look back on our wedding day and see the genuine happiness in our guests’ faces and the little moments we may have missed if it wasn’t for John Lennie being constantly aware of what was going on around him. I searched long and hard to find my perfect wedding photographer and we found this in John Lennie. We were looking for a wedding photographer with a certain style of photography, and together decided that we wanted a documentary style photographer that could just blend into the background of our big day and capture the true feeling and emotion, and not just focus on staged posing or big family shots. We found Johns website incredibly easy to navigate and his portfolio exactly what we were looking for in a photographer. We contacted John immediately and he set up a meeting. John was our wedding photographer in March 2016, since our first meeting together to view his portfolio, we knew he was the man for us. He took a genuine interest in us as a couple, and we sat over a coffee and chatted all about us and our wedding plans. He preceded to show us examples of his work and his portfolio and we were sold. Seeing his work, his attention to his craft and his passion and excitement about wanting to photograph me made me very emotional and the examples he showed us of previous weddings he had photographed and albums he had produced made me feel he was the perfect choice. On our wedding day John was brilliant, he was very curtious of everyone involved and completely blended into the background, we total forgot he was there, he shot the day as it happened meaning that the images we now have are a true reflection of our memory of the day. There was no dragging us away for posed photos, meaning we spent more precious time with each other and our friends and family.

John shot our wedding Easter 2018. He is calm, thoughtful - and a pleasure to be around. Also - John shot relentlessly during our wedding - he was always busy working away in the background discreetly, quietly. He somehow blended into the wedding and we didnt even realise sometimes he was taking photos. The results were beautiful - natural photos capturing some really honest/candid moments. Some of the shots look out of a Wes Anderson film, and John really managed to take beautiful natural style photos (which is what we were really after). In the end - John sent us around 200 of the best pictures, and we will be proud to have these photos for many years to come. John shot our wedding video having been recommended by our photographer and we are so grateful for the recommendation! We didn’t think we were bothered about video footage being captured of our day but now we have a video, we were very wrong. We hardly knew John was there and definitely didn’t feel like we were being “watched” or recorded which has made for excellent records of a lovely memories. Snapshots of speeches, the first dance and our guests enjoying the day have all been rounded up in an easy to share video. We are delighted with the final product but it wouldn’t have been possible without John’s subtle presence, humour and genuine care and love for what he is doing. He just let us get on with our day, and totally unassumingly managed to capture hilarious, happy and poignant moments. Ours was perhaps an unusual set-up, very small and informal, and including a countryside walk, with John darting up and down the path and banks - extra points for stamina! John is thoroughly nice guy, who showed a genuine interest in our family. You can see in the photos of our day that it's really people and their interactions that interests John. Our pictures really capture the feeling of the day - hard to explain - but in flipping through the album you are transported back. Technically the shots are immaculate and interestingly, John shoots with smaller range-finder style cameras - much less intrusive than a big DSLR with super zoom.
