We couldn't be more grateful to John for his contribution to what was a perfect wedding day for us. John made us feel so relaxed and at ease all day and provided an excellent service from start to finish. The resulting pictures that John timely sent us after the big day were absolutely stunning and we cannot stop looking back at them. John has a real talent for capturing the most beautiful pictures. In the evening you totally forgot John was there, in the best possible way, and he was able to capture some natural moments between us and our guests. From the first few minutes of speaking with John we knew he was the photographer that we wanted for our Wedding! Not only is John a very friendly, kind and down to earth person he is also extremely talented and conscientious and nothing was too much trouble, he also has a natural eye for capturing the most perfect moments on camera. We usually hate being photographed but John made us feel so comfortable and relaxed and he worked in a way that we did not even really realise he was there. John kept in contact with us in the months leading up to our wedding and really got to know us and we found we could contact him with any queries and he always responded in good time to help, you can tell he really loves what he does. John gave us a straight forward quote from the start and we really liked the fact that there was no hard sales pitch. We were happy to be guided by John's experience as to what would work best at our venue and he didn't disappoint us. We were so excited to receive our photos, they arrived in a beautiful wooden box, very well presented and John got them back to us sooner than we expected. Wow, they were breathtaking! We couldn't have been happier, he captured all our special moments and gave us a wonderful documentary of our day with such attention to even the tiniest details, he told the story of our day through his work and we have these photos to cherish and look at for the rest of our lives! Thank you so much John, we cannot compliment you enough and thank you for being such an important part of our special day, you have made us so happy!

Not your standard review however, unchanged this is the Thank You I sent John after receiving our wedding photos - says it all!. I highly recommend John if you are looking for your wedding photographer, you will be blown away, he is fab to work with & will make you feel at ease instantly. Amazing natural candid photos we are over the moon with the pictures of our day. We received our lovely memento box and photos last weekend and my gosh – we were in for a treat! And you know that I managed to ‘keep it together’ & not cry for our ceremony however your photos finally did it! Our wonderful photos are simply incredible we have so many favourites! – the photo of our friends little girl feeding her Dad, has made all of us giggle, the confetti shots & the photo of us together with the sun set behind us is just something else, we were blown away (sorry for the cliché – I cannot describe it any other way). I remember looking at many wedding photos getting inspiration for my own wedding planning & thinking how the couples look so dreamy & in love & being worried that we wouldn’t look very loved up! & even a bit wooden (if that sounds right), but we needn’t have worried – your easy going and professional nature immediately set us at ease. Of course we now have lots of lovely couplie photos We have received so many fab comments on our photos and one comment we have received time and again is how perfectly you have captured the moment, feeling and happiness of the day indeed one of my colleagues told me she felt that she had been there from just seeing your photo blog! We are so glad we found you through our wedding planning process! Dear John Allan and I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful photographs, and for being part of our day on 24th June, 2017. When I asked my Bridal Make-Up Artist Michelle if she could recommend a Photographer for our Wedding, she immediately gave me your name. After looking at your website, and seeing your wonderful images, I knew you were what we were looking for, and contacted you right away. Luckily, you had the date free. I have to be honest, as an ‘Older Bride’, I was a little anxious about receiving the photographs, but I was so pleased with them John. Allan and I looked at them over and over again during the first few days, reliving the memories of our wonderful day. Our biggest task is trying to choose the ones we want for our album! As you know, we said to you from the start that we wanted our Wedding to be a very fun occasion, and this was shown completely in the photos. Lots of fun and laughter with our guests just really enjoying the day. Thank you for capturing this for us. We didn’t want to be standing around posing for photographs, and your style of photography just suited the day perfectly. We had the absolute pleasure in using John Colson for our recent wedding in September. He was actually recommended by another local wedding photographer which in my eyes goes a long way when choosing someone. After meeting John we were sold, he took time to get to know us both, our interests and importantly what we wanted from a photographer and whether his style would suit our expectations. There was no sales pitch just honesty and examples of his work. Over the months leading up to the wedding we maintained contact and John visited the venue and church to get an idea of layout etc... On the Wedding Day, he made us both feel at ease, to be honest we left him to his own devises, working in the background taking some amazing pictures, one thing less to worry about. He blended in with the guests, half the time we were unaware he was there leading to some fabulous natural photos, exactly what we wanted. So if you are looking for someone to capture the fun, excitement and happiness of your day look no further, John has a natural gift for photography and his unobtrusive nature, kind and polite personality make him a perfect guest at any wedding!
