Reviews of e-physiotherapy
B. S.
Highly recommend. Nick is knowledgeable, and explains things well. He uses WhatsApp and bank transfers for payment which is really convenient. He's very analytical and is always willing to reassess his treatment if there is new information or if something isn't working. This is a huge strength, because things change and recovery isn't always linear. At least if you need a physio, have the intro meeting and see what you think.

Nicholas is an excellent physiotherapist. I went there for chronic pain in my Achilles (very stiff as a result of overtraining in the past, to the point that just walking was painful), and we did the shockwave therapy. The results have been excellent. The pain is now gone, and Nicholas gave me exercises to strengthen the tendons and muscles progressively and avoid the pain coming back. As a long-term sportsperson, I will be sure to come back when a new injury appears.

I have been working with Nicholas of E-Physiotherapy for just under 9 months now. I ended up meeting him through a friend of a friend. But I actually met him a great few years ago when I first hurt my back about 10years ago.
Anyway his approach is different to others and first off has a detailed and thorough assessment that he does on his first session. Everything is noted down on his computer each session as you go along and progress with your changes in movement/injury and rehab. That part alone stands him in good stead in my eyes. Secondly he is extremely up-to-date on current practices, research and knowledge going to conferences most months around the globe to meet up with professionals in different fields in the medical profession and physio profession.
I have been to many physio's and therapists over the years and none have given such a good gradual, step by step and progressive approach, everything is building on the last thing you did like a pyramid you work on your foundations first then slowly build on them to build to more complex movements and challenging rehab exercises. There is a big emphasis on you doing the work. Do not expect to just lie there and be massaged for an hour. You will be moving and really working hard to correct your movement patterns and engaging the right muscles as you do them. Its hard and its a struggle because your not used to engaging them or being in certain positions but it does get better. The key is to give it time and continually work on your movement every single day. No days off. It is a long term approach, not merely days or weeks but over a couple months or so.
Working with Nicholas has been great for me as a young Personal Trainer/Coach to help develop my knowledge of the spine and the shoulder which we have been working on and it has helped massively to develop my understanding of Scapula/Humeral rhythm, the muscles involved and the sequence although not completely mastered my knowledge and confidence of assessing and correcting bad shoulder mechanics has improved massively and has given me the confidence to go fourth further and improve my knowledge and understanding of the shoulder and spine more.
On top of this as a coach who focuses on the detail of technique and mechanics it really was humbling to come to someone who absolutely schooled me at being able to see things that I couldn't see in my movement and highlight things on my understanding that were just plain wrong or incorrect or outdated. This makes it that much more important to have good experienced, knowledgeable and up-to-date professionals around you to support you in your practice and service as I have always used the skills and knowledge and experiences of more mature coaches and professionals to improve myself and what I am trying to achieve at #BOBSGARAGE.
With my own clients and members I have and continue to refer them to him when their movement issue is out of my scope of practice or I just don't have the solution, then I put my hands up and say I am not sure how to solve this and refer them out to Nicholas to benefit from his skill set and knowledge, understanding and experience as a physiotherapist. He will see them and then directly feedback to me on what is going on with them and then I in turn will feed that back into their program to help progress, rehab and develop their training. He is a real asset to be able to call on for my service and I am really happy I have him as one of my trusted professionals to rely on and refer out to.
I would highly recommend going to see Nicholas if you have an injury just now, or maybe you want to improve your movement and performance or a constant niggle that you continually have contact him now.

I first came across e-physiotherapy after experiencing severe pain in my neck, arm and shoulder which was keeping me up at night. Nicholas is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly identified the issue and he made sure to give me a realistic timeline for recovery. Nicholas mapped out a course of treatment and gave me at-home exercises which led me to a full recovery. I am very thankful to Nicholas to get me back to normal and I recommend e-physiotherapy to anyone who is looking for an excellent physiotherapist in Edinburgh.

No doubt about Nicholas’s professionalism! I’m not the strongest cyclist at all but I’m very into long distance road trips. During one of them, I came across a horrible, unbearable knee pain. Where NHS waisted 4 months of my life by giving the wrong treatment, Nicholas found out the pain problem within 4 minutes! When I almost lost faith in coming back to cycling, he gave me hope.
By following his simple recovery exercises, I saw the result in no time! He always gives you home work & you have very little left to do-just focusing on doing it.
He is extremely knowledgeable and does excellent job. It’s always very pleasant to chat with him. He’s got a very welcoming atmosphere.
Every time my body falls apart, I know where to go. I would highly recommend Nicholas.

My elbow ache turned out to be an issue with my shoulder. Sorted after a couple sessions but I booked several more to fix my poor posture. Brilliant guy, he's an expert on human musculature ... and a friendly person too!

Nicholas quickly diagnosed the problem with my painful and inflexible shoulder, which had been bothering me for months. He provided relief through massage and gave me easy exercises. I was back to normal in a few short weeks. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to go and see him!

Nick is an amazing physiotherapist! I have a chronic back injury (due to hypermobility) and first saw him after surgery. He was way better than any physiotherapist I've seen before (and I've seen my fair share), and was able to get me to activate the right muscles in order to recover. I moved to London a few years after seeing him, and fly back when I aggravate my back because he is really the only physiotherapist who can fix me. He doesn't ask you to keep returning if you don't need to, he is happy to see you recover (which was very appreciated, especially when I was a student!). I can't recommend Nick enough!

Nick offers a bespoke service and is able to surmise and diagnose treatment in a friendly and expert manner. He takes time to understand your situation and is able to come up with a viable solution. I particularly like that he keeps his professional development up to date through the various conferences and events he attends around the world- and have benefited from his learnings directly.
I've seen Nick for over six years for a number of long-term challenges and he has been consistently adept at ensuring my on-going treatment is effective and practicable.
Unlike his expert analysis, his jokes are, on the other hand, terrible!

Nicholas has been helping manage/address the long term effects of COVID-19 (contracted at the end of March). Since the illness I have been experiencing nausea, a general malaise, light-headedness and severe tension in my face, throat, neck, tongue and shoulders - leaving me hoarse, breathy and unable to project my voice, or speak for extended periods. As a teacher this was an extreme source of worry and was undoubtedly affecting my overall health. My experience with Nicklaus has been superb. He is extremely knowledgeable in this very niche area, and the work he has undertaken to address muscle tension and the imbalances in my throat have had an immediate effect - both on my voice and general wellbeing. In short it has been transformational for me and i now have the confidence that I can work towards making a full recovery. I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone continuing to suffer the after effects of the virus

I have had treatments over many years from Nicholas for many areas of my body. He uses hands on treatments, dry needling and tailored exercises to alleviate my pain quickly and help prevent them from returning. I have recommended him to many of my friends who have also attended and found his physiotherapy skills to be excellent.

Would definitely recommend Nicholas to anyone - I have been a desk injury / fitness patient for years with several different problems caused by sedentary lifestyle & many times ended up in state where I wasnt able to function due aches and pains and Nicholas always sorted me. Always accommodating with his busy schedule and very friendly and funny man! Keeps himself extremely educated over the years, I have tried many physio's before but wouldn't go anywhere else. Just make sure you follow his recommended exercises :)

I have seen few physiotherapists in Edinburgh and cant recommend Nicholas enough. He can establish a root cause of any imbalances your body has which can lead to a potential injury as well as treating an existing one. Provides tailored exercises to strengthen weaknesses and revive damaged/torn areas, of course commitment is expected to see good results.
Unlike being randomly assigned to an unknown physiotherapist in a clinic elsewhere after reading positive reviews, Nicholas will be your point of contact.

I went to see Nick after injuring my shoulder. I booked one of his 10 minute advice appointments and he had me in for a full appointment the very next day.
I am a performer, I earn my living with my body, so it is very important to me to look after it and get good treatment when I need it. Nick really understood this and gave me treatment and advice specific to my needs and abilities. He quickly assessed my injury and the weakness that had led to it and gave me treatment that immediately relieved some of the pain and added mobility. He got me well enough to participate in an important event that weekend, but was also wise in advising me about what I need in the longer term. I now have exercises that I can use to rectify the underlying problem I had.
I would recommend Nick at e-physiotherapy to anyone, especially my very physically active colleagues.

Nicholas Evans at e-physiotherapy treats issues with my pelvis mechanics that are a result of a lumbar disc protrusion. He also treats my other back issues and migraines. As all the issues are to an extent chronic they need to be managed by a combination of treatments and exercises that Nicholas advises me on. I won't add a new exercise now unless I've checked with him that it's safe for me to do or if there's anything I need to modify. If you suffer from migraines or any other pain issues you cannot find a more engaged physiotherapist.

I have been an avid gym goer for many years and inevitably had the odd aches and pains from training.. I have used e-physiotherapy on a number of occasions - I have found Nicholas to be both very professional and friendly.. easy to discuss the issue with and more importantly to get honest feedback regarding treatment options.
I recommend Nicholas and e-physiotherapy to anyone requiring his services or advice.

I've used e-physiotherapy for several years. I've had several issues with my back and knees all of which have been resolved by visiting Nicholas at e-physiotherapy.
Nicholas has always been able to help and provide guidance / advice on how best to resolve and keep my issues at bay. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a physiotherapist in Edinburgh.

Nicholas is the most knowledgeable practitioner I've seen to date and I frequently cite him as "the best physio in Edinburgh". He is devoted to providing bespoke service in sharp contrast to the 'cookie-cutter' treatment plans provided by the NHS and a number of other practitioners in Edinburgh.
I have been seeing Nick for around six months for my injury -which has been full of ups and downs- and have noticed significant improvements to my mechanics, where a number of other practitioners have just succeeded in emptying my wallet. Nick has been very transparent with in-depth details regarding my condition at a level I can understand and digest. As a Sport Science undergraduate student I have a deeper, but modest understanding of biomechanics and anatomy and have encountered a number of practitioners who occlude or oversimplify important information.
As a patient/client at e-physiotherapy, you can expect to be treated in a professional, timely manner and with the utmost respect and dignity. I have not felt patronised or uncomfortable at any moment under Nick's care and would (and have) recommend him to friends and strangers alike.

I saw Nicholas for my TMJ problems. After one session I was in less pain and able to open my jaw wider. I will definitely be coming back for treatment. He recommended some great exercises to relax my jaw and improve my balance.

Over the course of time I have passed through many hands (mainly because of my sporty nature) and I can tell you without a single doubt that Nicholas is by far the best specialist that has ever treated me. It has almost been a year now that I started suffering from severe neck pain that gave me tremendous headaches; I tried everything with practically no results: physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists... my stiffness improved a little bit with them but my headaches were far from gone.
After moving to Edinburgh I started seeing Nicholas and in less than one month he got rid of my headaches. On top of that, he also got rid of some imbalances I had (that I had no idea I had) that in turn led to better training practices and improved bio-mechanics.
Aside from the fact that he is a great professional, it´s also worth mentioning that he is a very thorough person: he keeps a record of your progress so he can make sure that you are moving in the right direction every time you come back. You can´t really go wrong with Nicholas, I seriously doubt you can find a better physio in Edinburgh and on top of that he is always punctual! (you'd be surprised to know of how many physios can´t even get that right).

Nick at E-physio is brilliant. I had excellent treatment for back issues and was assessed speedily and given advice and tailored exercises which helped me greatly. He would without a doubt be my first call in the future for treatment. He is a highly trained healthcare provider offering honest and friendly treatment with a central Edinburgh location so easily accessible too

Following some work related back issues I went to see Nicholas at e-physiotherapy. He provided me with immediate relief and showed me exercises that I could at home and in the gym to prevent the issues from reoccurring. I have recommended e-physiotherapy and Nicholas to friends and family!
N. T.
Nick at e-physiotherapy is simply brilliant. I visited many physios, chiropractors, myofascial release therapists and massage therapists to help me to identify the origin of an old injury and to relieve the pain associated with it. Taking personal training helped to identify that I was weak in a lot of areas in my body due to compensating for my earlier injury, and my PT helped me to notice these habitual compensations when exercising; she suggested I go to see Nick.
Nick's approach is holistic, and we are strengthening my body as a whole, identifying weaknesses and ineffective body movement. I did not realise how much pain I was dealing with on a daily basis until Nick gave me exercises to relieve it. It is empowering to be able to help yourself and I am finally seeing real improvement. He is hands-on when it is needed, and continues to monitor my improvement, adjusting the exercises and encouraging me to generally get more active as I get better.
I'm slowly getting stronger, and believe I will be pain-free in the near future with Nick's help and guidance.
Plus, he's a great laugh.
Thanks, Nick!

Nicholas is a wonder physiotherapist - make a beeline for him especially if you work in the arts. He is a magician with dancers, singers and instrumentalists. Highly recommended.

I had a rotator cuff impairment after a fall on a bus and could barely raise my arm. Within a few appointments the improvement was amazing. Now back to normal and I cannot recommend highly enough. Would use definitely use again.

I would definitely recommend Nicholas. I’ve had to go and see him a few times over the past couple of years for some persistent niggles, and each time he’s been able to do some work to significantly reduce the pain/discomfort in the short term whilst giving me things to work on to improve it in the long term.
J. S.
I would really recommend Nicholas. He did a fantastic job, he was very knowledgeable and answered all my silly questions. Would definitely go back if I needed any help in the future and importantly I have had no issues with my back since working with him.

Nicholas did his magic again! He knows his stuff and always delivers. With him, I could walk normal again!
N. R.
Nicholas helped me get back to full dexterity really quickly in just one session after I broke my wrist. Can't recommend him enough!

Professional and helpful - fixes my muscles and joints five star review I would only see Nicholas for my physio sessions 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
