Reviews of Glasgow City Physiotherapy
A. D.
I went to see Scott for persistent lower back pain associated with running-related issues, based on the recommendations of others. Scott is extremely knowledgeable and provided a comprehensive treatment plan, which included holistic and evidence-based perspectives. I’ve followed the plan prescribed and have made significant improvements (almost back to full fitness). As an athlete Scott has ‘real world’ knowledge/experience. I would highly recommend, especially to anyone experiencing running related pain/issues (from any background/level).

If you're looking for a professional physiotherapy service with a friendly and empathetic ear, I think you will struggle to find a better option than Glasgow City Physiotherapy. Scott is an extremely conscientious physio who clearly keeps himself apprised of the latest research and is always willing to go the extra mile. Having been a patient with various running injuries over the years, I've found the whole team seems to genuinely care about helping people overcome their injuries, taking the time to use a holistic approach to understand, explain and treat the problem. I would not hesitate to recommend GCP to anyone needing their services.

I have visited Holly for the past couple of weeks now and couldn’t ask for a better physio. As well as assessing my injury, she took the time to understand me as a person and my life outside of running. After only 4 sessions, I am already seeing massive improvements to my injury and hoping to get back to full training soon. Holly is very knowledge, supportive and a lovely person, who is very chatty and made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Holly to anyone looking to recover from any sort of injury !!

I had issues with my IT band and had been going to Scott for physio sessions. After 5 sessions, the pain has completely gone away and I'm back running without any niggles. I highly recommend GCP and Scott, he's really friendly and easy to talk to, always made me feel comfortable throughout the treatments. Thanks Scott for helping!!

Been going to Scott for over 5 years now on and off depending on my injury.
Scott's been great in terms of knowledge, advice, written and MM information given and his constant communication.
Any future issues and pain with joints and muscles I will definitely go to Scott.
Highly recommend him

Scott is the most thorough and attentive physio that I've been to. Has a fantastic knowledge and really goes the extra mile to get you back to full fitness. Great location for those working in the city centre also!

Visited Cliona last year with knee and elbow joint pain, followed her instructions and they disappeared after a few months. Very professional service, goes in depth with detailed exercise/mobility routine demonstration's, and doesn't try to squeeze money out of you for any unnecessary extra sessions like some other physios would. Highly recommended

I went to see Scott after months of consistent lower back pains and aches that had started to affect my normal routine and exercise with numerous GP appointments offering no solution. I started to notice easing of pain after my first week of the stretches he recommended and 2 months later I'm basically ache free! Couldn't recommend more.

I’ve had physiotherapy and sports massage from the team at GCP and I can’t rate them highly enough. They take the time to find out what you want from your treatment and treat you with professionalism, expertise and kindness. They look at the whole picture, too, taking time to check in with your mental health as well as the physical. Thoroughly nice people doing an excellent job.

I'm a casual club runner and I first booked in with GCP due to a long-term hamstring injury - Scott gave me a comprehensive rehab plan which has massively improved an injury that I had been carrying for about a year previously. I've recently had a minor achilles tendon strain which I was concerned about, but after only a week since my last appointment with Scott, it's already improving thanks to his advice. I've already recommended GCP to friends, and I wouldn't go anywhere else now!

Over the past few months I’ve had appointments with Scott regarding a recurring Achilles and hamstring problems.
After several assessments and vigorous testing, Scott was able to pin point the issue and build an exercise program with progressions that allowed me to return to my sport within a matter of weeks.
I can’t thank him enough for all of his help!
E. M.
Went to see Scott for some back pain affecting my CrossFit training, spent a long time talking about my training and lifestyle before giving me a no nonsense recovery plan! I recommend this clinic to a lot of my clients. Thanks Scott!
S. A.
Great place to have a sport massage, especially for runner like me!
Been here twice with Gary McBride as my therapist, loving the balance between the pain he gave me with the massage and the chat we have while the session.
On top of that the location is just next to the buchanan subway station!
R. M.
Fantastic experience at Glasgow Physiotherapy, first with Gary and then with Scott. Both extremely knowledgeable, friendly and thorough in their work. I would highly recommend.
S. G.
It’s quickly apparent that Kirsty is very well versed as a physiotherapist; first through conversation and then through her results. She was easily able to explain concepts to me that I have taken away and found success implementing into my training. I found the sessions themselves to be very individualised and very valuable too. I would highly recommend using Kirsty.

I’ve been coming to Scott for over 6 months now. I would highly recommend Scott and the practice to anyone looking for a physio. Scott took the time to understand more about me and my lifestyle as well as my goals for physio. The exercise plans I was given were easy to understand and manageable. I now feel ready and prepared for any future injuries and more confident in myself.
L. M.
I visited GCP due to a knee injury from running. Scotts expertise and support has been amazing and I have managed to recover quickly and effectively. Scott was very knowledgable and friendly and made the whole experience a very positive one. If you are thinking of going to physio - this is the one for you. I am so pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend to anyone
K. E.
Scott is a great physio, perfect for all athletic aspects whether that be pre race physio, injury prevention or injury diagnosis/rehabilitation.
M. O.
Great service, both 1 to 1 consultancy or through virtual medium. Structured physio plan to aid recovery with follow up contact and assessments. Thanks Scott…
A. L.
Really good and I can recommend them. Gary is my physiotherapist and he is very good. It's easy to book by the web and the personal treatment is very good.
R. C.
I've visited Scott, Cliona, Gary and the team for a few years now and they are always fantastic. As well as effective treatment in the clinic, rehab/recovery plans have helped me return from injury quickly and safely. Alongside being really knowledgeable, they're also supportive and have great chat. What more could you want?
A. C.
I have been visiting Scott over the last 6 months for my hamstring injury. From my very first session with Scott I knew I was in good hands, he helped me understand my injury and made everything very clear. My rehabilitation process was great and I am now back running comfortably again. Would thoroughly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy to everyone.
L. H.
Have been going to see Scott at Glasgow City Physiotherapy over the past couple of years and have always left appointments feeling assured and confident of what was to come next. Scott provides a great deal of information and support during appointments, willing to answer any questions that you may have. However not only does he provide you with this support, but he also gives you the tools you will need to progress in the future. The atmosphere at Glasgow City Physiotherapy is a warm and welcoming one, one that leaves you totally assured that you are in the best hands!

From my very first session/initial assessment and the further sessions that followed I couldn't have been happier with the service provided. Scott was super helpful in identifying a long lying injury of mine up until finishing my rehab and beyond. Having seen many physios over the years I can wholeheartedly say I have never felt more looked after and more at ease than with the team at GCP. None of my questions were considered silly, my rehab plan was clear, easy to follow and most importantly led to me having pain free knees for the first time in as long as I can remember. I would recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy to anyone with no hesitation.
J. W.
Went to see Scott with a few running niggles over the last couple months. I left feeling really confident I could return to running with a tailored training/rehab plan as well as a much better understanding of S&C and how to use it to prevent future injury. Really knowledgeable and top class service.
A. K.
Would definitely recommend Scott and the team at GCP. Having played sport almost all my life I've visited a few physios, and whilst never having a bad experience, Scott has been the best so far.
My visits have been around injuries in my ankle/neck/shoulder. Visits for me have consisted of an initial assessment and then some homework to stretch/strengthen the injured area. This is followed by another assessment to make sure that I'm recovered fully and can get back to playing sport again with some further exercises to continue strengthening to stop repeat injuries. All exercises are clearly explained and I've been able to plan with Scott what I can/can't do when injured, allowing me to keep active and return fit from injury.
D. M.
I exercise fairly casually but like to keep my fitness up for mountaineering, football and climbing. I had a niggle in my knee as well as tightness and pain in my neck/shoulders. I saw Scott who got me onto an exercise regime using weights to build strength to fix my issues. After a couple of months now all the pain is gone and I now have regular strength training as part of my routine. Very pleased with the outcome and I highly recommend. The student discount offering was much appreciated too!
D. N.
Scott at GCP has been fantastic with me over the last few months. I have been seeing him since July after spraining my ankle. He was really helpful in identifying the affected areas and putting together a tailored plan for rehab and to return to running.
I went from struggling to walk in July, to setting a new marathon PB in October and I couldn't have done this without Scott's help. If I need to go back, I know I'll be in good hands.
D. K.
I'm extremely happy with the service I received from Scott at Glasgow City Physiotherapy. He took the time to understand what was going on with my injury but also other factors in my life like diet, sleep and mental health. He gave me exercises to work on and also helped me build a weekly running plan (I never thought I'd enjoy running this much!) I recently graduated as a yoga teacher and am keen to learn more about the body and my conversations with Scott during our sessions about tendons, pain, load & capacity have been so valuable in helping me understand the body a bit better, for myself and my future students!
G. N.
I've been to see Scott a number of times over the years and each time I have had a very positive experience. He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything to you, as well as listening to you. He is brilliant at working with you to create a bespoke rehab plan to fit into your lifestyle and to fit the goals that you have. I would recommend going to GCP to anyone looking for physiotherapy treatment as it really doesn't get better than this.
a. k.
I have been seeing Scott for over 8 years and I cannot recommend his company enough! As a professional dancer I’ve suffered with various injuries and Scott has always managed to get me back to full health. He has a wealth of knowledge and provides great aftercare, checking in to make sure everything is how it’s supposed to be. You will not be disappointed if you book in with Scott or anyone from his team!
D. T.
Been seeing Scott on and off over the years for running injuries and he has always done a great job of getting me on the mend. He is extremely knowledgable and thorough and as well as diagnosis and detailed treatment planning he will always go the extra mile with plenty of tips and advice about all aspects of running and injury prevention.
Scott and the whole team are always super friendly and all clearly care a lot about their work and their patients. I always feel like I'm in the best possible hands and wouldn't hesitate to recommend GCP to anyone.
k. w.
I can't recommend Scott and team highly enough. I used them for both sport massage and physio (to come back after injuries and an ankle operation) many times over the last seven or eight years. Scott is top of his game - friendly, passionate, thorough, and insightful. He quickly homes in on the source of the problem and offers effective solutions that are practical and fit in with your schedule. My experiences with his team are similarly positive. I don't hesitate to recommend GCP to friends and fellow runners. Keep up the great work.
J. R.
I had a really great experience working with Scott MacAulay for a tendonopathy which had stopped me from running. It was the first time I had seen Scott but I had seen different physios elsewhere in the past.
His diagnosis and treatment plan was absolutely spot on. I liked how he discussed some of the basic principles of the injury and rehabilitation and got a lot of information about my lifestyle as a whole to help come up with a really effective training rehab plan that was tailored to me.
Since then, I recommended Scott to my partner when she had a knee injury and she also had a similarly positive experience and we are both running well again and competing, with good ongoing strengthening work, and much more confident of avoiding injuries.
I also see Gary McBride at Glasgow City for a sports massage from time to time as he as the best person I have found for massages.
Would recommend unreservedly based on my experiences

Glasgow City Physiotherapy is an extremely well managed clinic. All the staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional and sociable during appointments. I feel extremely welcome every time I enter the clinic and have found the treatment I received during my appointments to be extremely beneficial as it has ultimately resulted in helping to cure my injuries. I will certainly be returning for any injuries that I experience in the future and I will continue to recommend them to anybody that I know that is also dealing with injuries.
O. S.
Highly recommend. I have been going to Glasgow City Physiotherapy for almost 2 years now and have always had a positive experience. The staff are very knowledgeable, highly skilled and friendly. Scott helped me overcome several long standing running injuries that other physios I have seen in the past had not been able to resolve. I cannot recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy enough.
I. S.
I have visited GCP multiple time over the past 5 years for running related injuries. Every time I have received rehab exercises that focus on overall strength and have been back to training with only little time off. Scott is very knowledgeable and considers all factors that might impact the injury, he is good at sharing his knowledge so you walk away with a better understanding of your injury and how to treat it. I highly recommend
J. V.
Scott has helped me with various mountain biking and snowboarding injuries over the last few years. He always conducts a thorough, holistic assessment. A big benefit for me is that Scott takes the time to make sure I understand what the problem is and how to tackle it with various exercises and a realistic expectation of how long things will take to heal. This knowledge alleviates any worry or anxiety relating to the injury and helps me to focus on getting better.
L. M.
Best physiotherapy service in Glasgow. All the staff are extremely friendly, professional and make you feel comfortable upon entry. Scott has helped me overcome injuries with his sport specific knowledge and rehab techniques. Couldn't recommend them enough!
L. S.
Would highly recommend Glasgow city physiotherapy. Scott was friendly and professional . I felt he listened to all my concerns, and ensured that he accounted for all factors which could be contributing to my injury. He created a comprehensive plan for recovery and included ways to maintain a routine similar to normal. Scott was positive and really helped in getting me back to training.
d. m.
Scott and Glasgow City Physio were amazing in helping me recover from an injury to my adductor. It was an extremely professionally and friendly while working with him and I didn't have to stop training once while, which was really important to me as I had a competition approaching. He also took into consideration many aspects of my lifestyle and training that was affecting the injury and applied it to the recovery process. I can't speak highly enough of my experience here, Scott even went above and beyond to send me useful resources to my course.
F. H.
Ive been to many physios over the years with running related injuries and would rate Scott as one of the best in the business. Scott's approach to injuries is to address the root cause rather than just to treat the site of the pain which is key. For me is has often been a weakness somewhere else which hadn't been identified by other physios. His knowledge of human anatomy is brilliant and he is always up to date on the latest science regarding injury recovery/prevention as well as the psychological aspect which is often overlooked. I couldn't recommend him and his team highly enough.
E. M.
Scott put together an excellent recovery plan, after a running knee injury. With easy-to-follow strengthening exercises, I’ve been able to start running regularly, now having a greater awareness of technique and how to improve performance. I thoroughly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy.
H. M.
Had a fantastic experience with Scott as he has helped me work through an ongoing injury. He’s really helped me stay positive throughout the entire process not to mention the attention to detail across all aspects of my lifestyle from sleep and nutrition to what kind of shoes I’m wearing. When missing the social side of training, I always looked forward to my appointments at GCP and being able to see a friendly face in a very professional and warm environment. Would highly recommend if you are looking to turn over every stone on your road to recovery and I cannot emphasise enough how much of a difference Scott has made in my rehab journey.
A. C.
Scott was an excellent physio and helped rehab me from a serious injury. His holistic approach looking at all aspects including sleep, nutrition, training load left no stone unturned. Being an experienced runner himself you feel he really understands your point of view. He laid out a realistic timeframe and provided a personalised plan that was really helpful. The on site gym is excellent and really good to work through the exercise so you leave feeling confident in the plan. Scott equipped me with knowledge that will allow me to develop as an athlete and communicated it well. Recommending apps and additional helpful resources was great. I am now back running confidently and consistently and I am very happy. I would definitely recommend Glasgow city physiotherapy to anyone wanting reliable, honest evidence based advice.

TL;DR: Kirsty did a fantastic job getting me back to climbing and drumming pain-free within weeks! Highly recommended!
I was looking for a physio in Glasgow after developing some pain in my left elbow from climbing (mostly bouldering) and playing drums much more than ever before in my life (unfortunately, these two hobbies target very much the same muscle groups in the arms and hands, which makes it very easy to overdo it). Used the fantastic booking tool on GCP's website, did the initial online questionnaire, and then went to my first session back in February. Kirsty was superbly well prepared and went through some more general health and lifestyle questions as well as in-depth questions about the pain with me before doing a physical assessment of the problem. It became clear that the problem was a fairly simple case of over-doing it in training. Too much, too soon, not enough time for my body to adapt to the new stresses. She gave me a couple of exercises to strengthen the muscles and tendons in my arms (especially forearms) to counteract the problems from overtraining and encouraged me to keep climbing, albeit at a much lower volume (once per week instead of three times) and sticking to easier climbs instead of pushing hard, keeping away from any movements that might put excessive strain on the left elbow. This helped me stay motivated and of course also helped maintain overall strength, while giving my elbow time recover. In addition to the exercise side of my recovery, she also equipped me with the basic theoretical knowledge behind my pain, which really helped me to better understand why I had developed the pain and what I should be doing in the future to prevent it from reoccurring.
By the time the second session came around six weeks after the initial appointment, I was already pain-free and climbing and drumming happily again. To keep it this way, I emailed her beforehand that I would like to have a good look at my shoulders, since these are especially prone to causing problems for climbers. First, she assessed my elbows again at the second session and we found that I was indeed pain-free! Similar to what she did in the first session, she then went over the shoulders, did a physical assessment and went on to set me up with an exercise plan to help me both strengthen my upper body and improve my mobility.
I had my third session 10 weeks after, because I caught Covid and then had a super busy work-schedule, and am super happy with where I am at. Kirsty did a thorough last assessment of everything we’ve worked through, gave me two more exercises which focus on two areas we found in the session that could use some more improvement, and gave me the all-clear.
I am super happy with GCP as a practice, Kirsty as my Physio, and where she got me to within just over three months. I am pain-free, while climbing three times a week, and playing drums for 6-8 hours each week. I climbed Font 6a with pain in my left elbow in February and am now flashing 6as with ease, while projecting 6c+s and I am sure that I will manage my goal of getting to 7a this year without experiencing pain again. And, on the off chance that I do, I know where to go!
H. K.
Highly recommend! Scott supported me through an ongoing back issue and I couldn’t be happier with the service provided. He made me feel at ease during my appointment and listened to all the issues I had been experiencing in great detail. Scott is very knowledgable and I left feeling much better with great advice and guidance to follow.

I have used Scott at Glasgow City Physiotherapy on a number of occasions. It's so beneficial to have someone who is a good runner treat you as he understands not only the physical issues but also the mental elements of being out injured. I would and have recommended him to others.
C. g.
Professional, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my treatments.
Gary and Cliona give fantastic massages and Scott is exceptional in his physiotherapyy and aftercare.
I have been working with Scott over the last 5 years and it is inspiring how he has grown such a successful business to the benefit of the wider community.
Long may it continue.
L. T.
I've been to Scott a couple times now with a knee injury I've had for just under two years. In a four week programme, I've gone from not being able to run without pain to running day on day off with no pain. I would highly recommend to any athletes recovering from injury.
S. B.
Scott and Holly have been excellent in treating my hamstring and despite not being Glasgow based the treatment is so good that I wouldn't think about seeing anyone else.
A.
Had a number of issues over the years, foot, back, shoulder. Scott has always taken the time to figure out the core problem and create an appropriate rehab plan to get me back to full fitness. Always had great treatment and massages from GCP 🤙🏽
D. S.
Scott has been my go-to physio for any problems for many years now. Fantastic physio who provides excellent service, great knowledge and understanding of the demands of sport, and always manages to not only fix my injuries but provide advice to improve my training to prevent further issues.
B. S.
Have been attending Glasgow City Physiotherapy for a number of years for physio and sports massages and have always had a really positive experience, both online and in person. Really helpful to be treated by those with experience in running too, and have always helped me get back up to form after injury. Would recommend the team to anyone!
A. A.
In the past, we as a family have gone to Scott multiple times for various injuries. Scott has been incredibly welcoming, understanding and professional. We could not recommend Scott and Glasgow physiotherapy enough for anyone looking for physiotherapy ! well worth the trip from the Glasgow area and further afield ! ( we often travel from Edinburgh )
Thanks again !!

A keen amateur runner, I first visited Scott several years ago for help with an ankle problem that was still hurting & preventing serious training months after the initial injury.
He immediately identified the cause and provided a serious of exercises to complete healing of the ankle, then strengthen it to prevent further injury. These were 100% successful and I was training confidently again within a few weeks.
Whenever a running injury or niggle presents itself, as they inevitably do, I call on Scott as I am confident of his assessment of how to proceed. His advice on whether to keep training or not has always been spot on.
He also provided ongoing therapy & support during a sustained period of high mileage training that helped keep me on my feet.
I have and will continue to recommend him to friends.
H. A.
I have seen Scott at GCP for multiple knee issues and he has always been top notch. He understands my desire to keep training through injury and is amazingly holistic in his approach. Couldn't recommend enough from my healed knees :)
A. H.
I’ve been going to see scott for the past two years regarding a pretty serious foot injury. The genuine interest in compassion towards my progress throughout my injury made me feel extremely comfortable coming back to scott time and time again. All the information about my injury was always conveyed cleared and backed up with information and statistics, I always knew what he was thinking about it and the copious amount of knowledge he possessed in the are was always subtly obvious.
I cannot recommend the man enough and couldn’t be more grateful for his continued support.
B. S.
I have used GCP on many occasions for both rehab and sports massage. If you want to get back to full health then I cannot recommend Scott and his team enough. As Scott is a competitive athlete he understands the niggles and pain that can crop up when training and is able to assess you from this perspective, which helps to reassure you.
10/10

Have used GCP for physio and massage for several years now. Always a professional and friendly service, Scott and his team have an excellent, up to date knowledge which always results in an effective recovery from any injury I present with. Treatment is never focused on a ‘quick fix’, instead evidence based rehabilitation plans are provided which has stopped any of my injuries re-occurring. Would highly recommend!
T. P.
I got in touch with GCP after experiencing persisting pain on my right shoulder and right leg (both due to previous injuries). Thanks to Scott and his advice on exercise/stress management etc, not only has it significantly improved in just a few visits to the clinic, I feel much stronger and confident that I'm on the route to recovery. Totally recommend this place if you're in Glasgow. (Bonus points for student discounts)
D. B.
Scott and his team can always be trusted to get you back on your feet and keep you there. Scott's holistic approach gets to the root of the problem and takes into account the practicalities and stresses of daily life that us amateur athletes face. Scott's focus on maintaining activity and performance means you won't just be sent away with the usual prescription of "rest for a couple of weeks and do these generic exercises". He can definitely take credit for the PBs I've been able to run since starting working with him in 2018.
A. F.
Highly recommended. I saw Scott a few months ago about an injury which had not recovered. Scott provided a set of simple but challenging exercises and very quickly I noticed improvement. I am now working on progressions and things are going well.
D. M.
I’ve been using Scott as my physio for several years now and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s helped me through numerous injuries and problems to get me back playing at a high level of sport. Scott uses his extensive knowledge as well as his own personal experiences to give you the best advice going. The clinic is extremely well run and very easy to find. I couldn’t recommend Glasgow city physiotherapy enough.
L. G.
I have been to Scott over the last couple of years and have been very impressed. He has a great wealth of knowledge. He was great at answering any questions I had during my appointment and even answered questions outwith my appointments. With Scotts help I got rid of my injury and he also gave me the tools to prevent further injury in the long run.
S. W.
I would highly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy and have in fact informed my family and friends of the positive experiences that I have encountered with Scott and the team of very experienced clinicians. GCP have helped me overcome several injuries that I have acquired through sport and work and now many of those who I have encouraged to attend.
I have had negative experiences with several other practices who have not been up-to-date with current evidence and feel confident that the advice and rehab I have been offered here is current with good clinical judgement. The team are highly professional and friendly and you can feel safe that you are in good hands!
K. M.
I was seen by Scott, who helped me with severe pain through the right side of my neck, shoulder and arm. I was particularly impressed with the way he focused on not diagnosing the issue but rather helping me back into my sport - something which other physios had lacked. The rehab he gave me helped tremendously and now when I have flare ups I know exactly what to do. Would definitely go back if (hopefully not but you never know) another injury pops up!
T. S.
Scott and the team are fantastic. Having previously struggled with injuries, I've been able to get back to some consistent training and enjoying running following their focus on the right rehab and prevention exercises. Friendly team and always helpful. Highly recommended.
S. M.
Scott has great knowledge and has helped me navigate through various injuries over the years. His knowledge of injuries and rehabilitation, specific to running, is second to none. The aftercare and follow up that I received was brilliant and I really felt like he was invested in my recovery and return to sport!

Having restarted running after a long break, the inevitable happened with niggling injuries. I was recommeded Glasgow City Physiotherapy by a friend and wasnt disappointed with the result.
Scott was great, focusing on solving the immediate problems but more importantly prevention by the strength and conditioning exercises as well as the need for rest and good sleep to aid recovery.
Great advice and very professional in his listening and tips moving forward..= No Injuries
Thanks Scott

I recently went to Glasgow City Physiotherapy for a 1 hour sports massage with Gary and I couldn't recommend this enough. He was very friendly and professional and listened to all my areas of concern. The treatment itself was great and I could tell Gary had fantastic knowledge and experience - I definitely came out feeling better. I will be booking in again with Gary.
C. J.
GCP is definitely the top physio place you can go to in Glasgow, especially for runners. The team are very knowledgeable and have treated the very best in the sport, and are always happy to apply the same diligence to getting you back fit and ready no matter what level you’re at. Plus, they’re all very friendly, so at the very least you’ll get an hour of talking about running!
R. D.
Across fifteen odd years of club rugby and athletics I've had to visit more than my share of physiotherapy practices and I can confidently say this one is the best I've ever visited.
I had suffered from on and off Achilles pain for years that just wouldn't go away. Started seeing Scott and the gang at Glasgow City Physio and made more progress in two months than in the prior two years combined. I got back to actually j enjoying running again. Also couldn't ask for a friendlier group of staff to work with - always extremely welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Scott helped me tackle a recurring IT Band problem I’d been having. After a thorough consultation we talked about my training and goals for the season ahead. He then walked me through a recovery programme involving strengthening exercises, balance/pro-perception and running sessions. Can't recommend highly enough.
S. I.
Scott was great in arranging a zoom call to help with my hip injury. Very knowledgable and was able to provide clear instructions to treat and rehab the issue to get me back running asap! 100% recommend for runners with Scott's expertise.
A. K.
I have visited and consulted GCP in the past for various injuries Iv had. Fair to say that out of all the physios Iv seen, Scott has been able to solve my issues the quickest and with his knowledge of different disciplines; makes the rehab exercises sport specific. Should I have problems in the future, this is the only place to go... A great guy to chat to as well as a very sound and knowledgeable therapist who I highly recommend!
C. T.
My physio is Scott Macauley he works at a very high standard with great knowledge of what he is doing and works very hard to come up with training plans to get back into sports. Scott is also very friendly and has a great personality to be around not only a physio but a true gentlemen
H. H.
Can't recommend enough.
I've seen Scott for various niggles and injuries the past fives years and I refuse to go elsewhere. Its always been a very positive experience with effective rehab. Not only did I receive the best care for whatever the issue was but an effective plan to ensure further problems are avoided.
Would and have recommended to a friend type service.

I saw Scott a few times for some joint issues and injuries. He takes a really holistic approach, taking into account both physical and mental health history. I felt really listented to. PS I am very much so not a runner so even though they have a lot of runner physios and patients, they truly have broad knowledge to make personalized treatment plans that are tailored to any individual patient :)
J. B.
I have seen Scott at various points in the last 6 years. His evidence based approach has helped me overcome difficult problems on numerous occasions. Scott does not get bogged down in jargon and explains the rationale of any suggested interventions with clarity. Would recommend for both competitive and recreational athletes.
k. O.
I attend this clinic weekly for my massage with Gary, and when I am injured to see Cliona for physio. Both are excellent at what they do and never fail to put this old, beat up body back together again. When they get sick of the sight of me and need to take a holiday, I get the same, excellent level of treatment from Erin and Scott. A great clinic with an amazing team. I highly recommend it
C. B.
Been using Scott at GCP to help with injuries I’ve encountered over the years and every time he goes above & beyond from the first session to all the times he’s been able to help me between appointments with any questions I have when I’m unsure on how a movement or activity will effect my injury. He’s always happy to help and keep you as active as you can be during rehab. Highly recommend GCP for an excellent and professional clinic!
K. B.
I cannot recommend Scott and his team enough! They level of care and treatment that they provide is incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and you can trust that they will get you back on your feet! Supportive, reassuring and will leave no stone unturned!
E. D.
A really professional and friendly team! Great advice and rehab routine to help get me back to my best. Cheers Scott and the rest of the team!
E. T.
Only good experiences so far with GCP. The service is outstanding - since my 4 appointments with Scott MacAulay I’ve made great progress with my injury recovery. Would definitely recommend to any athletes looking to incorporate physio work into their training - GCP really know what they’re doing :)).
M. S.
Can not recommend Scott and his team highly enough. Had several issues over the years and Scott always gets me back up and running Always provides clear advice and is very encouraging. He is able to put things into perspective and provide a clear path back to full fitness.
K. F.
I recently had an appointment with Erin Smith for a 1-hour massage and could not have had a better experience! Erin was very professional, listened closely to my concerns, and on top of it all she was so friendly!! She made me feel so comfortable and my back felt so much better after my massage. I will definitely be back!
R. F.
Really happy with my experiences here. Been quite a few times over the previous couple of years with hip/Achilles problems and Scott has always provided me with effective rehab in order to resolve and problems I have had. Experiences here have been very nice and positive, and would highly recommend. Very ideal location too.
Very happy with the cleanliness here too, especially through COVID. The toilets are very clean and comfortable too!
A. M.
Fortunately I have been rarely injured, hence my likely over reaction/catastrophisation when I have now had achilles tendinopathy and recently hamstring strain. Luckily Scott has been very calm and upbeat about recovery from both these injuries and has guided me through the rehab from both with an uncomplicated/ individualised series of exercises that I could follow and fit around my day. I have had additional email support between appointments allowing me to provide feedback of how things are going and have then in return had adaptations made to exercises if I felt these weren't working or were not at the right level of difficulty.
In addition, Scott has always been very accommodating around appointments. I have had no trouble getting an appointment at short notice.
R. M.
I went to see Scott in January after going over my ankle in a cross country race back in November and my recovery taking longer than expected. Not only did his expert advice help me get back on track with training, he also provided me with an injury prevention plan to strengthen up my weak ankles to fend off any repeat injuries for this years cross country season.
GCP staff are highly professional with varied knowledge and their rates are fair. It is unique to find a one stop shop where you have complete trust in the clinicians. I'd recommend them to everyone, especially those looking to improve their performance in sport.
g. b.
Having had trauma on my shoulder I went to other ‘the best’ physios only to be in pain, straight after surgery I started going to Scott, he said himself ‘I’m no expert in shoulders, but trust me and I’ll do my best’ to me that’s a sign that he has a genuine hunger to learn and help others. Since then Scott has understood what I’ve wanted to put myself through in different elite military situations and supported me in training advice- invaluable to have that at hand trust me!
As GCP has grown each practitioner is very good and being athletes themselves they get how you feel, what’s sore/tight etc
I have recommended many to GCP and I’ll continue to do so.

Awesome staff for treatment and rehab from injuries. Worked primarily with Scott for all of 2019 and half of 2020 and he helped me get to the track World Champs in 2019 healthy and recover from some injuries thereafter. Highly recommend! Everyone is super friendly and very knowledgeable about what they do!
C. S.
Excellent Physio support. Scott is very professional and has helped me in the past with back pain and currently with a hamstring niggle. I have been able to continue running while adding in the exercises he has recommended and my hamstring niggle is getting better. Thanks for all your hard work!!
K. M.
Scott is a very helpful physiotherapist who seeks long-term results. He has, on countless occasions, helped with recurring achilles tendinopathy problems and allowed me to continue training. He shares a wealth of knowledge, not only in his area of expertise but highlights the importance of recovery and nutrition. Best physio in Glasgow and highly recommend!!
K. G.
Scott was great at helping me through a recurrent injury. Was mindful of both physical pain and also diet, mental health and lots of other potential contributing factors. Felt totally covid safe too. Would recommend to anyone needing a physio in Glasgow!
M. L.
Scott and his team do a great job. Have used their services frequently over the years for both sports massage, physiotherapy, sports psychology and dietetic clinics. I couldn't be happier with the service I receieved. I reguarly recommend GCP to friends and family, as I trust that they have the best interets of all individuals at heart.
T. P.
I have been to Glasgow City Physiotherapy over the years and the service received is exceptional. I strongly recommend the clinic and this is because they are not looking to see you week after week, they care about your treatment and actually ensure that the treatment plan works. If you as the customer put in the effort and listen to the physios you will see a world of difference.
B. M.
Best physiotherapy clinic in Glasgow! Scott has helped me overcome a number of new and long-standing injuries, providing confident diagnosis and detailed rehab plans each time. Highly recommend!
d. s.
A great clinic run by Scott, highly recommended! I have taken part in the clinics 10 day online running camp ran by Scott and cannot recommend enough, excellent sessions well planned helped to work on weakness and improve my training. I have further taken part in offline Stretch & Core classes perviously led by Scott & Axel both were very professional and provided great sessions to supplement my training. will definitely use their services again!
O. T.
GCP are great and very accommodating. I've been consulting Scott a few times with a recurring injury and he always provides clear and easy to follow advice and exercises. His knowledge in the field is obvious and has you feeling you're in safe hands. No request is too much for GCP, even last minute sport massages! Erin recently gave me a great massage, focusing on specific areas which I pointed out were causing be bother. I'll certainly be recommending GCP for anyone looking looking for injury support and prevention advice.
K. M.
Scott helped me fully recover from a calf injury. He is extremely knowledgeable and was on hand with great advice and adapted his approach to suit my needs. Would 100% recommend!
A. I.
Would highly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy! Scott and the team provide a friendly and thorough service tailored to each individual. Cliona has helped me through injuries, providing great expertise and knowledge. I was given a thorough rehab plan which focused on the bigger picture, getting my body back up to strength to avoid reoccurrence of injury.
A. L.
I simply wouldn't use anyone else. Scott and the team at Glasgow City Physiotherapy have kept me running all year round for the last 3 years. Whether I've had niggles or pain and strains. Scott has got me back on the trails time and time again, with great advice on stretching, strenght and conditioning. He also hooked me up with a great running coach. A Really good location with lovely staff and a great space too.
C. P.
Scott's treating my 12-year old following a serious fracture. The rehab sessions & expert advice are hugely contributing to his confidence & speedy progress. Great to find a professional who can work well with kids.
W. R.
I have Been using Glasgow city physiotherapy for 5+ years now. I have been seen by 5 different members of the team in this time period for both physiotherapy and sports massages. No matter what member of the team I had my appointment with I always received a top class, professional service. I would highly recommend Glasgow physiotherapy to anyone with an injury or an athlete that needs regular sports massages.
r. h.
After months of stiff sore knee joints and putting it down to just old football injuries I decided enough was enough and got an appointment with Scott. He checked me over asking lots of questions in the process . He set me up with a few exercises and stretches to do which has greatly improved my knee problems. Good advice is always worth listening to and that’s what you’ll get here. Thanks again Scott
G. E. F.
MacAulay the magician! Scott is a fantastic physio who has helped me back from several injuries including achilles, adductor, knee and a trapped nerve/arm pain and onto National and international running performances. He takes time by asking questions to help him consider the exact cause of the problem. During the first appointment he always gets to work on the issue and on each occasion has made a noticeable difference. A great part of Scott’s work is that he emails you info and video links to exercises which I feel makes it very easy for me to follow them. Scott is one of the best in the business if you want to be injury free!

First physio that has actually helped me!! Had problems with my shin/calf for years and now I finally feel like I’m making progress! a great block of sessions with Scott- he’s given me fantastic tips to improve my running and prevent injury, and sent me all the science behind them to evidence! Genuine help without costing an arm and leg! Thanks scott 😄
T. B.
Have seen Scott for a variety of problems over the years and have always had first class treatment. He gets to the bottom of your problems quickly and gives clear and manageable rehab exercises. Cannot recommend his services enough
J. L.
My husband Jeff saw Scott with a ‘drop foot’ . This type of condition can be complex and difficult to heal. With Scott’s expert knowledge and precise exercise regime, this condition began to improve much more quickly than anticipated., Scott sent links to the various videos specific to this nerve injury.. and after 6 weeks Jeff was almost completely cured . Highly recommend this Physio practice .
A. G.
Have used Glasgow City Physiotherapy for various running niggles all the way through to full blown injuries. Always supported by the team with training, strength and conditioning exercises to support the training load and to work at preventing injury. Shout out always goes to Gary for massage- cracking chat and brilliant massage. Amazing all round service including sports psychology service too makes this the runners physio team.
J. B.
Glasgow City Physiotherapy would be my top recommendation to anyone looking to treat an injury, get a sports massage or to get some great advice on how to become a better athlete. GCP provide many amazing services and will put together your own unique plan to treat your problems and improve your training for the future. The team is made up of some top athletes who can relate to any problem you may have in your personal development. On top of all of this, on arrival you will receive the warmest of welcomes from the team, enjoy some friendly and constructive chat, and you will leave with a new focus, a positive mindset and new outlook on how to solve your problems. Once again, GCP is a top service and would be very highly recommended by myself.
E. M.
I recently had an excellent sports massage from Erin S. I scheduled a full hour neck and back massage and felt very relaxed throughout and afterwards. My muscles felt a lot looser and it relieved a lot of tension I was feeling. She was very professional and checked up on me to ensure the pressure was appropriate etc which I appreciated. I will absolutely be back! Thank you Erin!
M. J.
Gary has been my go-to for massage over the years and the level and quality of service has been outstanding. Scott has the clinic running fluently; this is not somewhere you're rinsed of money, this is somewhere you leave satisfied and more knowledgeable regarding your injuries, physical status and your training than you were before!
C. S.
Been using GCP for any running rehab (physio and massage) for a number of years now. The team are extremely knowledgeable and obliging. Treatment plans are always tailored to an individual, with a focus on addressing the root of a problem, rather than just treating a symptom. As well as giving advice on rehabbing an injury, the team also always help with a plan for building training back in, allowing you to return safely after an injury. Can’t thank the guys or rate them highly enough.
E. P.
Cannot recommend highly enough. I’ve seen Scott for the best part of 5 years for a number of issues. No matter what the issue he’s willing to work with me, in both long and short term. M
Always helpful and kind, with sound advice!
A. G.
The staff at GCP are just fantastic. I've been visiting Scott for about 8 years now. He's helped me deal with a number of injuries over the years from broken bones to torn ligaments to trapped nerves. No matter the issue, Scott always gives the best treatment and advice. Overall, just a really lovely guy who really cares about the wellbeing of his patients and I cannot recommend him or his team more highly.
A. M.
Excellent Physio. Knowledgeable, friendly & reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend

I had broken my ankle at the end of January and once the plaster was removed I was advised to seek out a physiotherapist. I checked some of the reviews on here and decided to opt for Glasgow City Therapy.
Scott MacAulay assessed my needs and put an action plan into place.
With his support, motivation and complete professionalism he basically got me back on my feet once again. On each appointment he reviewed my progress and tailored further exercises around my feedback. Not only walking he also progressed me to a running plan within a couple of months after his initial consultation in March. I was told by my surgeons I wouldn’t be able to run for about 10 to 12 months and Scott had me running gradually around 5 months after the initial break.
He has shown me exercises that I will continue you use at future gym visits. I attended my 6th and final appointment today and would definitely recommend him. Also great location which made it easier for me to attend the appointments. Thanks again.

I went to see Scott after undergoing a 2nd surgery on my knee due to a sports injury. As an active person I was keen to get back to full strength and ability, Scott has been great - pushing me to my limits without rushing recovery. He has also been really supportive with the mental side of recovery and getting back to sport. I've seen a lot of physios throughout this injury and my experience at Glasgow City Physiotherapy has been the best by far.
A. D.
I've been to the practice on numerous occasions with injuries ranging from my back to my ankle. The skill and dedication Scott has shown to improve my injuries, make sure my rehab is going smoothly and aid in making me generally stronger has been exceptional. Along with the skills and knowledge shown, it is refreshing to go to a practice that genuinely has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Scott and the team have built up a great community with their patients and his weekly core sessions are testament to that.Keep it up!
C. C.
I went to see Scott when I started to experience sharp pain in my knee caps when running, I got an appointment super quick and was really impressed with the initial consultation.
Scott was very reassuring, was very positive about the concern and the prognosis. The consultation was great because not only did we look at the problem I had come in for (the knees) we also looked at a second problem with a persistent pain injury, my diet, my lifestyle and how they all impact upon each other.
I came away with some strength building exercises, lots of fantastic resources and an adjusted running plan so I could keep going with that but just at a reduced rate to allow my knees the time to recover and build up strength. I've been back for a follow up consultation where again I was reassured and the progress was great, we built upon the exercises to keep building strength and created a new running plan. Hopefully a final appointment in a couple of weeks and that should be me back to full capacity!
H. M.
Cannot recommend GCP highly enough! In particular, Scott has helped me adapt to starting work in a busy NHS job, whilst finding ways to continue training now that I don't have a set routine anymore. I definitely attribute a recent 10k PB to the help I've received from him!
A. C. H.
I first attended Glasgow City Physiotherapy, relying on two crutches following a broken ankle. I am by no means an athlete, but I had personal goals of getting back to normal walking as quickly as possible and getting out for my leisurely Sunday jog.
Scott was not only great at working with my physical injury but was an inspiration at encouraging me and reminding me of my progress throughout our time working together.
Sadly, lockdown stopped my physical visits, but I swapped to Video Conferencing calls which kept my exercises appropriate for each level of recovery I was achieving.
Be it in person, or by Video Call, I was in no doubt that the programme of development was individually designed by Scott for me and took into account all my limitations & expectations.
I would highly recommend Scott for his work on both physical injuries and overall well-being during injury recovery.
S. H.
Have used and recommended GCP over a number of years.
Knowledge is excellent and the aim is always to give you advice at the appointment but also put in place a long term strategy to avoid recurrence of injuries.
A brilliant philosophy that makes the whole experience worthwhile and enjoyable.
M. D.
I personally can't rate them highly enough. I have seen Scott for numerous different injuries and more recently some of the team have been involved with a shoulder injury that was particularly tough for me to deal with. They have been very knowledgeable and professional in the service I have received. I have used other physiotherapists in the past and felt that after the hour session that was it, not so with Scott. When anyone asks me to recommend a physio Glasgow City Physiotherapy is who I recommend and the fact I have learned from athletes I have met that they use the same place speaks for itself.
V. G.
I cannot recommend Scott highly enough! He’s very professional, super friendly and most importantly he really knows what he is doing! He helped me to get rid of a chronic back pain that I was suffering from for years. Scott provided me with so much content and guidance and also closely monitored my progress in the past few months. I’m very thankful for the splendid job that he did with me and I’d encourage everyone in need to go see him! Thank you Scott, you're an absolute star!!!
E. K.
Been to Glasgow City Physiotherapy many times and seen both Cliona and Scott. Bounced back from a few injuries having seen them and followed their advice. Would highly recommend, they are both welcoming and friendly and very knowledgeable.
J. G.
Have been coming here for years with various different injuries or for sports massage. The whole team is great and have given me the best route to not only recover from injury but to make sure it doesn't happen again! Highly recommended :)
A. M.
I’ve attended GCP for years now and have never been disappointed. The practice is friendly, welcoming and highly professional. As well as having great practitioners there are strength and conditioning facilities on site which has always helped me to make the most of any rehab I’ve had to follow. I can’t recommend GCP enough to anyone who need physiotherapy.
C. O.
Excellent, I attended for knee pain and it has made a world of difference. Cliona was very helpful and so friendly. I was really impressed by the depth of her knowledge and the way she explained things, she gave thorough and detailed answers to all of my questions and really went out of her way to help me understand everything about the cause of the pain and the process of remedying it. You're in very good hands if you come here! It's clear that GCP are passionate about their work and really care about helping their clients, can't recommend them enough.
I. M.
Scott and his team are excellent - they have helped and encouraged me through various injuries and given me advice and exercises to get me back to running. I have just completed Scott’s 10 day virtual running bootcamp during Lockdown. This was so good - nice variety of mobility, strengthening and core workouts plus interactive Q & A with various athletes who shared their journey to success.
e. T.
Been many times over the years, great care and guidance provided every time, can only recommend
G. L.
I really can't rate Scott and the team at GCP highly enough. Over the years I’ve had various Achilles, calf, shin and lower leg issues, yet whatever the problem, they have always found the solution! Their online ‘run strong’ sessions are also tremendous, really helping with injury reduction and demonstrating their holistic approach to health and well-being. Without doubt they are the go to Physiotherapy clinic in Glasgow.
S. B.
I've been to see Scott a few times with ITBS and general niggles and I can't rate him highly enough! It makes a difference going to a physio who is also a runner and someone keen to keep you moving through your rehab. Brilliant location means I can jump down in my lunch hour and always get a positive and friendly service. Definitely recommend Scott to friends and family!
L. C.
Amazing! had torn my knee running and was unsure how to recover properly. Went to GCP and they guided me step by step back to fitness. So positive and encouraging, giving me exercises and future workouts to do to stay strong. Always recommend this team for massage or injury rehab.
A. S.
Scott and his team are the best in the business. I have been going there for years for various sporting injuries and I have been fixed every time. All the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. I have recommended numerous people and all have had a positive experience. I cannot speak of them highly enough.
A. T.
Over the years, Scott and the team at Glasgow City Physiotherapy have provided nothing but a first-class service by helping me with injuries and optimising my level of fitness. I could not recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy enough.
J. L.
If you want a genuine physio that will do everything in their power to mend you, this is the place to go. Scott and the team are in this game to help you, not to take money from you which you will find is the case with lots of other places. No fancy machines that will miraculously fix you, just experience, genuine care and rehabilitation that works. They will work with you through a structured programme to get you back to your best.
Glasgow City Physiotherapy has helped me with a number of injuries over the years and I simply cannot recommend them enough. If you ever have doubts about where to go for treatment, put your trust in the team here as a reputable and experienced physiotherapy centre.
J. H.
I would thoroughly recommend Scott and the team at GCP! I’ve been treated by both Scott and Cliona and they were both so knowledgable, professional and friendly. Both the treatment and advice is to the highest quality and provide great follow up support.
E. M.
I recently had a sports massage from Erin Wallace. It was an excellent massage which provided great relief to my back. She also provided great aftercare advice. I cannot recommend Erin enough and will definitely be back!

Brilliant clinic with tremendously skilled staff providing expertise in sports injury management have been extremely helpful in improving my conditions of cerebral palsy and scoliosis with advice that is straight forward for myself to understand it’s a great privilege to go to the clinic I have used the majority of services that GCP has on offer and it’s been very good all clinical staff have have outstanding knowledge and true and ultimate professionals. It’s always a great day getting the opportunity to see the staff and it’s a true highlight of my week when I am booked in I look forward to utilising all the services that are on offer for future years and working with the staff for years to come. I truly appreciate the staff and highly recommend the clinic is absolutely marvellous with a very welcoming feel and positive warm friendly environment and vibe. Can’t thank the staff enough always go above and beyond during my visit and make my experience joyous I always leave the clinic smiling 😊
B. W.
I have been going to Gary for deep tissue massage now for the last 6 weeks to help with a knee injury I have. I'm a Paralympic athlete working hard to get back to my sport and Gary has been fantastic. Highly recommend!
L. T.
had my message a week ago. was running late and called to cancle. They were so understanding called me back and rescheduled. i had Kirsty. We discussed any previous injuries and etc, she was amazing and applied pressure when needed. I have recommended it to friends and family since. i finally felt human after and i didnt realise i felt inhumane before!!
J. W.
Once again, Scott has literally got me up and running again with a structured rehab plan. His sharp focus makes every minute of every session worthwhile. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
A. B.
Having received Sports Massage treatment from Scott and Cliona at Glasgow City Physiotherapy for the previous two years, I couldn't recommend them enough!
Both Scott and Cliona, as well as the rest of the team, have excellent knowledge and practical expertise. Not only are they excellent practitioners, they are also very friendly and welcoming. Both are always willing to answer any questions you have and offer advice if needed.
The clinic itself is situated in the centre of Glasgow making it so accessible! With such a range of appointment times and multiple highly experienced physiotherapists, you'll be sure to find an appointment time that suits your schedule which helps when you have a busy schedule.
D. V.
Excellent treatment sessions, great post injury and for half marathon prep.
H. A.
Brilliant service. Scott has been extremely helpful in helping me to recover from an Achilles injury, through provision of sports massage, exercises and also excellent advice. As a runner himself it is clear scott understands how important it is to stay injury free and always looks at the whole picture providing advice on technique as well as core training.
An overall excellent clinic, with grest facilities and service and without Scott's help I am sure I wouldn't have been able to get back running well as quickly as I did and would recommend to any athletes with an injury or just trying to become stronger and prevent possible injuries in the future
E. A.
I would highly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy. Scott and his team provide a fantastic service, good value for money too. Been a few times for different issues and each time the treatment plan I got was great, well explained and it worked.
The whole place has a really friendly atmosphere, everyone makes you feel welcome and comfortable
J. G.
Excellent customer service. All staff made me feel at ease during my appointment. I have been to see them on a few occasions and I have often booked in last minute and have been accommodated very well. Each visit I was given amazing advice and left feeling confident with my recovery process. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
C. L.
I cannot recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy enough. Scott helped me over a number of sessions with a back injury I sustained doing MMA. Thanks to Scott I have recently returned to training! Thank you Scott
M. C.
Scott was very informative and helpful with an ongoing injury. As a result of Scott's recommendations, my shoulder/neck issue has improved significantly allowing me to return to training. Would and have recommended.
R. M.
Visited GCP in January with an issue with my hamstring tendon. Scott quickly diagnosed the issue, provided treatment and prepared a strengthening programme for the following weeks, whilst demonstrating exactly how each exercise should be done to get maximum impact and avoid further injury. Top service and a great team.
A. T.
I came to Glasgow City Physiotherapy when I had a hamstring injury. The service I had was excellent and the staff, in particular Scott who treated me, were very friendly. Would definitely recommend visiting if you need physiotherapy.
B. L.
First went to Scott back in 2015 for a sprained ankle as a student and returned this year after suffering from back pain which we successfully worked through in minimal appointments & with at home exercise plan/stretches. Couldn’t have found a better physio with practical advice and support, after many unsuccessful trips to other conflicting and unhelpful physios. Highly recommend.
k. s.
I’ve been a runner for over 20 years and seen many different physios & masseurs in that time but the atmosphere and service you get at GCP is the best I’ve ever experienced.
It’s worth the hour travel time to see Scott and get his knowledgeable advice. If you are looking for a plush fancy clinic this is not it and you won’t get namby pamby treatment but what you do feel as you walk in the door is a place of professionalism and enthusiasm.
As far as treatment Scott is first class and follows up with what you should be doing at home to help yourself. He doesn’t encourage you to come back and throw money at the problem he actively encourages you to take ownership of your body and do all you can to keep in top shape. The fact that he is an athlete himself and always seems to be improving his knowledge means I feel safe trusting his advice.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else now and always recommend GCP when anyone asks.
K. K.
Scott is a great physio and an all-round nice guy. He helped with a leg injury caused by running and was able to provide virtual appointments as well as in-person.
G. L.
I have been to a number of physios but Scott sets himself apart with his very involved and personalised rehab treatment. Scott will use a wide range of treatment methods when you see him as well as provide an excellent, progressive plan for you to work on between treatments. Excellent service and great location if you work in Glasgow city centre.
J. A.
Just finished the 10 day online running camp. It was filled with useful sessions on mobility, strength and core, and informative workshops with great guests. Thanks to Scott for arranging everything. I really enjoyed it all... well, apart from the Up Sally push-up challenge!
J. R.
Scott at Glasgow City Physiotherapy helped me get back to running high and consistent mileage after suffering really badly with plantar fasciitis. If you have plantar fasciitis don't do what I did and suffer for months wasting time rolling iced bottles on your foot, trying different shoes, insoles and whatever else before seeing a physio. Scott being a runner himself was very knowledgable on how to treat this injury while still being able to train effectively. Been following the advice and exercises for some weeks now I'm seeing it all pay off especially in my race performances which is great as I'd lost all hope I'd be able to run at a high level again. Thanks for all the help, Scott!
D. A.
All of our family have used Scott and the team at Glasgow City Physio for a variety of sports related consultations and always had first class service and advice. Would highly recommend!
J. P.
Random injury to my neck, no idea of cause just woke up stiff and in a lot of pain, contacted GCP, immediate response and appt booked for very next day. Kirsty was absolutely awesome, thorough questionnaire pre appt and on my arrival too. Polite, sympathetic and a fantastic targeted massage to boot, booked in again straight away. Would not hesitate to recommend 👌
C. M.
I was seen by Scott who was excellent: very knowledgeable and up-to-date; understanding and blended in exercises into my current routine. Furthermore, he sent me useful material post session so I knew exactly the exercises, frequency and additional useful content. Overall a top notch physio and practice!
J.
Really delighted with the help I received from Scott for my shoulder. A very professional and helpful guy. I would thoroughly recommend this practice and would not hesitate to use again if needs be.Thanks again. 5*

I am an 'enthusiastic amatuer' runner and after Scott successfully sorted a piriformis issue for me a year ago I have returned several times for a sports massage to keep my legs in good shape. What I really like about Scott is that he doesn't just go through the motions of giving the massage, he takes the time to chat to find out how things have been going and is always willing to listen and offer advice. I have no doubt that the exercises Scott left me with post my piriformis issue plus the regular sports massages have helped keep me injury free and running happy. Can't recommend enough.

As an international athlete it is a priority of mine to be able to trust that my physiotherapist can accurately diagnose injuries. I have been working with Scott, Cliona and Gary at GCP for two years now and they have been absolutely spot on with every diagnosis. They take a specialized approach to different injuries, providing specific treatment and tailored rehabilitation to ensure you heal stronger than you were before!
If you have any kind of injury, or you're in need of a massage, get in and see the team here and you'll be in good hands!

I’ve been visiting Scott at GCP for several years to receive treatment for a variety of running-related sports injuries. More recently, I’ve been getting regular sports massages from Gary McBride to help keep me running injury free.
Every practitioner I've dealt with at the clinic has been very considerate and professional. I can't recommend GCP enough to anybody struggling with tight and achy muscles or looking for help to overcome a sports injury.
I'm still competitive well into my thirties and I have GCP to thank for that!

I was recommended to go and see Scott and so so glad I did.
My hip and back we’re giving me a lot of pain after a hip replacement operation in 2015
After 3 visits I was feeling the change in all my movements
The support and exercise were tailored for my needs
I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Would highly recommend! Have been seeing Scott for physio and sports massage for a few years. He is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Great clinic and can't recommend them enough.
J. G.
Scott helped a lot in my recovery, nice and kind, resourceful, felt comfortable at all times and I am indeed getting better! Will surely recommend and come back if I need it
D. R.
I have visited this clinic twice for separate pains in my calf and shoulder. Both were resolved with the treatment Scott provided, and neither have returned since due to the advice and education I received on how these may have occurred and how to prevent them from happening in the future.

I had the pleasure of completing a two week work experience at this clinic. As a student, I felt apprehensive about starting, not knowing any of the staff. However, Scott, Cliona, and Gary made me feel so welcome. Their knowledge and outstanding patient care was inspiring and I learnt so much from them in such a short time. Would definitely recommend taking a visit to this clinic!

Turning my ankle more than half a dozen times playing football left me wondering whether I would realistically be able to continue playing – The term “glass ankles” became a rather accurate description for me. I may only play socially but football has always been a massive part of my life, and the thought of not being able to play was really quite depressing. I decided after my 5th visit to A&E to stop playing and try and fix the damage that had been done. I consulted my GP and was referred to a specialist orthopedic surgeon around the same time that I contacted Scott to ask for his advice.
Fast forward six months and I have declined the option of surgery due to the fantastic progress I have made at Glasgow City Physiotherapy. Scott has isolated the source of my ankle injuries, identifying instability and weakness in my hips and core that were causing me to put my ankle at risk, as well as the fundamental mechanical damage in my ankle. Scott challenged me with a wealth of exercises that pushed me to work hard on strengthening not only my ankle, but also my whole body. In addition to this Scott also employed sports massage and acupuncture to make sure that the work I was putting in wasn’t undone by pain or stiffness in hard worked muscles, allowing me to forge ahead with my recovery.
I now no longer worry about damaging my ankle with every twist and turn, I am no longer scared to run, and I no longer have to be berated by my family and girlfriend for returning from a social game of football on crutches (a special thanks for this one).
Without Scotts help I don’t believe I would be back playing football, and I would probably be going under the knife, his input has not only resolved my injury, but it has changed how I think about the mechanics of what I do. Scott didn’t just treat the injury, he treated me, ensuring that I was educated, making progress, and fully understood what was occurring in my body.
I am proud to be a returning customer of GCP, though I am now no longer an injured one, needing only their excellent massages every few weeks. I highly recommend GCP, however big or small the injury; Scott will give you all of the attention, education, and expertise that you need.
Thanks for all of your help past and present!

Initially referred to GCP by a friend after two years in NHS + Hampden SC, then Scott for post surgery physio. Scott clearly has a high level of interest in what your issue is and is excited to 'cure you' I gave him goals where I wanted to be and taking that on board Scott drew up plans for me to follow. Undertaking intense training I used GCP for regular sports massages with Cliona/ Gary , again having their expertise and personal experience as top athletes themselves means that they understand what you are/ trying/want to do and the advice flows. I haven will recommend GCP to anyone with issues or who just wants a decent massage !
A. A.
Excellent physiotherapy from an experienced runner, always takes the time to explain the evidence basis behind any treatment plan. I always recommend Scott whenever a friend is looking for a physiotherapist.
L. Y.
Scott has given me many treatments at GCP for running injuries and always takes a genuine interest in the well being of his patients, getting me back on track as quickly as possible. He is extremely knowledgable and always willing to go the extra mile for his patients. I cannot recommend him and GCP highly enough!
E. M.
I have received physiotherapy from Cliona on two occasions and sports massages' by Erin, I can't recommend them enough! Very informative follow up email after the physio appointments provided details of the diagnosis and explanations of rehab exercises to refer back to and to pass on to my coach. Also always happy to answer any questions about these :) Great practice !
E. R.
Best physio there is, cannot recommend enough! The staff are super professional, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Had an ongoing problem for many years and after the first appointment I already started seeing a massive difference.
S. B.
I can totally recommend Pilates at Glasgow City Physiotherapy with Diane. With it being a small class you receive good individual attention to ensure you are doing the exercises correctly. Diane a great teacher, she is very approachable and knowledgeable. The class has helped my running improve but has also helped with my strength and posture. It has been very beneficial.
A. G.
I cannot recommend this place more.
Very friendly staff and the most important they know what they doing.
S. C.
Would highly recommend Glasgow City Physiotherapy. Scott has helped me recover from many injuries, always manages to squeeze me in for an appointment and is the best physio I've ever been to.
G. E.
Excellent service from GCP. Great physios that relate well to athletes and their needs. Not only great one-to-one but I have enjoyed the weekly stretch & core classes during which Scott monitors individuals rehab work!
G. G.
Scott has helped me through numerous injuries, going above and beyond each time to help structure rehab/injury prevention methods. Often does further research for individual cases so that he can advise the best treatment possible and personalise rehab schedules for me. Don't just feel supported by his excellent knowledge but also by his patience when it comes to listening to tiny worries that the other physios I'd tried out didn't always have time for. Never nervous to voice any concerns I have about niggles during batches of heavy training. Treats me as both an athlete and a person - don't know where I'd be without him. Can't recommend GCP enough, thanks for everything! (Also very close to central station - perfect for athletes who can't shuffle very far the day after a big session!)
A. P.
Highly recommend Scott @ GCP. He quickly got to the source of my long term back problem, provided a clear effective plan and after several sessions I've returned to exercise that I've not done for years.
H. M.
Pleased with really quick recovery of elbow dislocation.
In short Scott helped me get through from a painful elbow dislocation all the way to be able to play football, cycle and do musical theatre dancing in high level in a 2 months period.
After dislocating my elbow by playing Sunday league football I had to get a quick recovering since I would be performing in a Musical theatre at the Kings just 2.5 months after the accident. Before then I would need to be able and practice and perform heavy dancing and other quick paced activites using my arm properly.
After some research I found out the Scott has a good active approach to bring back athletes into their sports as quick as possible without too many unescessary visits. All based on rehab exercises aimed to strengthen your injured muscles rather then the classic "Just rest for a month" methodology
From early stages I had no strength whatsoever in the arm and couldn't do any quick movements and the flexibility was very low. Scott gave me a set or exercises and how I would progress with those during a 1 month period. Constantly aiming for higher weigths and strengthen the core muscles. Secodn visit was the same procedure and with different exercises that would strengthen other muscles around the elbow and give the nescessary support. Already after one month I was able to do normal push-ups and follow the dance routines to a 100% level and that helped me be able to participate in the show and go back to play football and cycling. He has been very helpful when it came to not only provide the needed rehab exercises but also to inform me what to expect form my body in different stages so I would be aware I needed to keep active and when to push harder and when to hold back.
Scot does also have an instagram account that he now and then would send videos of good recovery exercises. I am still rehabing the elbow since these injuries take long time to heal. All based on the exercises Scott provided
M. C.
I have been going to these guys for years now and their understanding of everybody's individual needs makes it so easy to trust them. I especially recommend Scott and Cliona as they have both helped me through my injuries with great advice and rehab!
T. J.
Been to see Scott a few times. Most recently due to some serious back problems. After a few sessions including sports massage and acupuncture I started to see and feel improvements right away. Can't recommend highly enough. Very knowledgeable and professional.
K. D.
Scott is more than your average physio. Over the years he has held my hand to tackle the real underlying issues to many of my injuries. Without addressing these issues I would have long continued on the vicious cycle and not found the joy I now do in being a stronger running . I have a lot to thank him for.
S.
I've been using Glasgow City Physiotherapy for years now and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
Whether it be for specific injuries or a massage, the combination of knowledge, friendliness and fair pricing are a must for those who need advice.
A. M.

B. J.
Scott has helped me greatly get back from a knee injury that I just couldn't shift. After 3 other physios Scott was recommended to me. With Scotts help I built up the strength in my knee again and am now running as well as I ever have. Cheers mate
K. G.
Top class physiotherapy. Before going to GCP I went to other physios and received poor treatment and advice leaving me frustrated with my injury and not running for months. However, I found going to GCP totally different, they listened, took time to analyze my injury, come up with a detailed treatment plan and keep track of how I was progressing. Within a matter of weeks I was back running and was much stronger. A stretching and core class is also offered to keep on top of any injuries and niggles which is perfect. Thanks Glasgow City Physiotherapy!
R. J.
Very helpful and friendly place, that I'd happily recommend to anyone. Scott helped me to understand the exercises to get rid of my injury and continue the injury prevention myself in two appointments rather than multiple visits.
s.
Brilliant physio,in easy to locate central locations in glasgow! Scot has a true knack for making you feel at ease, and honed skill and ability in providing you the best treatment and advice regarding to both injury recovery and prevention. he has been able to create a real community within his patients and followers, with this all accumulating to his practise becoming one of the best in the city.

I visited the clinic recently with severely torn ankle ligaments and was seen by Cliona. From the first consultation she was very informative and helpful and her rehabilitation advice has got me back to exercise in a very short period of time. All of the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming & I will definitely be back if and when I’m in need of further treatment.
M. H.
My legs were severely injured after a month of daily charity runs. I came across these guys who mended me! Cannot recommend them enough- so friendly and professional. Thanks a lot!

M. H.

Great and easy location, and really friendly staff who are always happy to help. Glasgow City Physiotherapy have help me massively with my recovery before major competitions in the past and I would recommend them to anyone in the area👍
M. K.
I went for a massage with Anthony as I've had debilitating lower back pain for two weeks. He was lovely and very professional but most importantly he really made my pain reduce dramatically after just 1 visit already. One day after the massage I can finally bend down and haven't had a single big spasm today. I will go and see physio too but thank you Anthony, you really made a difference. Life is so annoying when you suddenly lose you mobility and feel constant pain. And it's amazing how a skillful massage can help.
C. K.
I injured my shoulder playing tennis and came here for a few appointments for treatment. I was very impressed with Scott and always came away feeling like my appointments were very helpful.

I've been going to GCP for the past 2 years and couldn't recommend them highly enough. What stands them out from the rest is their ability to diagnose the root of a problem/injury and set you up with personalised injury prevention exercises to prevent this from reoccurring. Their treatment and assistance helped me greatly in the lead up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games where I represented Scotland in the marathon.
H. B.

The staff gives personnalized exercices for recovery. The price is very good for such a good service. Definetely check it if you ever get injured!

J. L.
I first visited Glasgow city physiotherapy back in May after dislocating my ankle in a road accident, I was at a low ebb as I felt i was never going to get any relief from the pain and discomfort I was experiencing, but after my first physio session with Cliona even walking back out of the front door I felt better, and with the subsequent physio sessions and exercises Cliona gave me to do at home/gym etc I have to credit her for speeding up my recovery time and getting me back walking properly again, In short I cannot rate Cliona Highly enough she is a credit to Glasgow city physiotherapy and her profession.
D.
Great treatment from Scott MacAulay! I am a full time modern ballet dancer and his sports massage is one of the best I have ever done. Thank you *****

It was wonderful day.

I've had two appointments with Jill Cherry at GCP after spraining my wrist. I'd had mild, but persistent pain for a couple of months after my initial injury and came to GCP for help. Jill offered a very thorough assessment and was keen not only to strengthen my wrist - eliminating low-level everyday pain - but to restore functionality when exercising. Jill gave a clear set of exercises to help me achieve this, as well as advice for returning to the gym. Instances of pain are ever decreasing and I have a better sense of what precisely aggravates the injury. My confidence at the gym has been restored and I am beginning to return to a fuller range of movement.
Z. M.
The best Physio in Glasgow! Damon you are the best helped me so so much I don’t know what I’d do without you!
B. F.

R. W.
I visited Scott after struggling with an hamstring injury for a couple of weeks and I am really pleased with the outcome of my appointments. As well as helping with my injury Scott also took time to get to understand my life outside of running as well to help with the programme for rehabilitation he gave me. After a couple of weeks and appointments I already noticed my injury starting to feel better. Scott is very knowledgeable and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a physio.
