Reviews of London Running Physio (Run-Fast Sports Clinic)
D. R.
Scott quickly diagnosed a hip stress fracture (following a misdiagnosis from another physio) and expertly guided me through recovery. He also offered to chat to my coach at no extra cost so that I could begin a safe return to marathon training. I have learned a lot about my physiology thanks to Scott and feel I am better equipped for injury free running.
K. T.
I saw Scott after previously seeing 4 different physios over 20 or so months who hadn't been able to get me back to running after ongoing knee problems. Scott was the first physio to properly listen to what I had to say and referred me to a consultant who accurately diagnosed me. I was given a specific running and strengthening plan and am pleased to say that I'm finally back running again. Thank you Scott!
P. D.
Scott was recommended to me by an orthopaedic surgeon I had visited regarding a knee injury.
I had 6 physiotherapy sessions at London Running Physio over a 5 month period. My injury became progressively better after each session and Scott was able to recommend alternative forms of exercise whilst I was unable to run.
I was provided with a recovery programme to follow between physiotherapy sessions and Scott was available via email if I endured any problems.
I would highly recommend London Running Physio!

Couldn't rate Scott more highly. Came to him initially with an ankle injury which ended up needing a referral to a musculoskeletal doctor and then an ankle surgeon. Scott made me feel very comfortable about my options at each step of the recovery process. I've gone from having 0 confidence in a damaged ankle to being able to run/cycle/play football confidently again - Scott was instrumental in this recovery process. Highly recommended. Will have no hesitation in returning with any future injuries. Thanks Scott.

I cannot recommend Scott highly enough as a running physio. I've been seeing him now for a number of years and am always extremely impressed.
His knowledge and diagnostic ability are exceptional. On more than one occasion he's correctly diagnosed an uncommon/tricky issue which has subsequently been confirmed by a scan. He's also an excellent communicator; you'll always come away understanding what the problem is, why it's likely to have occurred and why he has prescribed the particular treatment/rehab.
It's no coincidence that he's the go-to physio for a good number of the top runners in London.

If you have an injury that’s limiting your running Scott Newton is the best physio in London. He finds the right combination of treatments that work for your injury and he works in synch with trainers, sports doctors and surgeons. He will be completely dedicated to your recovery.

I have been working with Scott since April 2020 in relation to a running-related foot (sesamoid) injury. This injury saw me take nearly two months off running followed by an extensive and lengthy personalised rehab and return to running programme designed by Scott.
Thanks to Scott, I am now back running and steadily getting back to where I was pre-injury. I have found Scott to be very helpful, personable, knowledgeable and generous with his time. I would highly recommend him. His own background in running - and in particular having suffered a serious stress fracture - means he can give excellent and accurate advice about how best to recover from a debilitating injury.
Because of coronavirus, all my meetings with Scott were conducted virtually. However, these worked smoothly and efficiently without any obvious drawbacks.

I have a long history of chronic runner's knee that have stopped me achieving my goals in running. I had seen a number of more general physios in the past, who weren't able to solve the problem and didn't have much knowledge of running.
Scott was able to set a programme of exercises that got me running regularly and I was able to complete my first marathon. He's also helped me recover from a more recent stress fracture.
Not only does he offer very professional and effective advice, but his knowledge of running means the rehabilitation process has been more tailored to my needs and I've had a wider ranging service that goes beyond just telling you which exercises to do. He also often goes above and beyond, fielding ad hoc queries on my recovery throughout the process. I would highly recommend Scott (and already have to a number of friends).

After running the Thailand national marathon record (2:16) and competing at the World Athletics Championships marathon, I had pushed my body to breaking point and finally succumbed to some chronic injuries.
I saw many specialists over several weeks to no avail, however, I was thankfully recommended to see Scott. He diagnosed the root cause of my symptoms in one session! He has a real talent to quickly diagnose complicated injuries and then goes the extra mile to make sure we are on the correct path to best ensure a full recovery.
Scott is now an invaluable part of my team to ensure that I am back competing at an elite level!

I’ve seen many, many physiotherapists and Scott is a stand out. He clearly loves getting to the bottom of issues and investing exactly what’s going on. Most thorough physio examinations I’ve ever had and pays attention to the details of my symptoms. Humble - escalated to a surgeon when necessary and recognizes I’m the expert of my own body. Advocate - asked a surgeon to do a second reading of an MRI when we didn’t think the first reading made sense.

I came to see Scott earlier this year for help with a persistent knee problem, and I'm extremely grateful for his thoughtful advice, guidance and treatment. His own background in the sport is a huge asset in treating runners, and I was especially impressed by his awareness of current developments in Sports Medicine as well as how he used that knowledge to inform effective treatments.
Having run at quite a high level I have a good deal of experience with physios, and Scott is among the very best I've been treated by. His composure and sense of calm when dealing with injury issues was something I especially appreciated, and I expect all of his other patients would say the same.

I saw Scott first time in October 2017 for injury (Tib post) when training for Valencia Marathon. He was recommended by quite a few people at my running club and I immediately saw why. Scott has a great ability to analyse symptoms, spot weaknesses and create plan to recover and keep running injury free. He is very good runner himself and I find that it really helps with overall discussion.
My injury happened six weeks before the marathon and I had serious doubts if I could run. But after seeing Scott, talking through his analysis and rehab plan I actually felt pretty positive. After ten days of rehab exercises and cross training I was able to get back to running. Scott helped to create reverse taper plan where running volume and pace was increased gradually towards the marathon race and this worked perfectly! I ran new marathon PB!
Scott has been hugely important part of my running progress. He has provided strength and conditioning program to address weaknesses, tailored program of stretches and mobility exercises and on-going support and advice. This has allowed me to train consistently without major injuries and improve my marathon PB from 3:14 in November 2017 to 2:51 in April 2019!
I highly recommend Scott for anyone who is looking to improve their running and staying injury free!

After many years of going back and forth to various physios, I am delighted to have been introduced to Scott. He is professional, thorough, highly knowledgeable and empathetic. He knows what it's like to be unable to do the sport you love because of injury and very dedicated to helping you build a rehab path back to health.
All of our sessions have been virtual due to covid and it has worked perfectly.
M. G.
Scott is excellent. His expertise and service is best-in-class. As an experienced runner himself, his deeper knowledge of the sport and how to mitigate injury risk has been a huge support to me over the last few years when balancing load in training blocks. Always there to support and help along the way!

I’m a club runner who’s been lucky enough to have Scott as a physio over the past couple of years after he was recommended to me.
He’s got me back to full fitness after achilles tendinopathy and a broken shoulder. I’m currently working my way through a flare up of a knee problem resulting from an ill-advised surgery (not in the UK) many years ago.
Though the current cause of this issue is proving hard to pin down, I feel that Scott has offered incredibly attentive and empathetic care over the past few weeks, from phoning to talk through the initial MRI report, to running through my case with an orthopaedist, and listening attentively to symptom reports even when they’re not immediately reproducible in clinic. He’s gone above and beyond, and it’s also very helpful that he’s aware of the mental impact of injury - even when the MRI doesn't seem to offer any obvious explanation for a sudden onset of pain.
If you’re a runner it’s incredibly valuable to have a physio who understands your goals and training. Though I’m yet to get to the bottom of my current issue, I have every confidence that Scott will help me get through it, and I highly recommend him to others.
J. G.
I have been seeing Scott for the past year following a motorcycle crash resulting in several complex injuries of the wrist, ankle and knee. Scott has been instrumental in my recover; his detailed and through knowledge has allowed us to work together and with the medical staff to ensure the most efficient and effective rehabilitation.
I have no doubt I would not be in the stage of recovery I am in without Scott and his help. Could not recommend more highly.
D. L.
Scott is an excellent physio and has been a pleasure to deal with. Scott listens intently and uses his extensive knowledge and experience to decide on an appropriate course of action. Scott provides detailed rehab programmes and is always willing to adjust the details if required. Having suffered from months of knee pain following a bike accident I was pain free shortly after seeing Scott and following his advice. As Scott is a serious runner he understands how frustrating injuries can be for anyone who runs regularly and his personal approach helps to manage expectations whilst also guiding you towards the light at the end of the tunnel.
I would highly recommend Scott to anyone that requires top class physio treatment.
E. B.
I have been treated by Scott now for several years and can confidently say he can help everyone, from novice runners onwards, in a friendly and unassuming way. His approachable and helpful attitude means talking about injuries and medical matters is unintimidating
Scott has always taken every ailment I have presented seriously, from a niggling pain to more serious problems and treated everything with equal care and skill.
In late 2016 I stress fractured my tibias and Scott immediately sent me through to a specialist who ordered an MRI, then through a careful program of gentle physio, strength work and rehabilitation managed by Scott, was able to make it to the start line of my first ultramarathon.
It also helps that Scott himself is an experienced runner which means you are talking to someone who doesn’t just understand the sport theoretically and also knows the emotional side/ pressure of getting injured before a big race.
There is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach, which means that my care has been very personalised and with Scott’s extensive knowledge and experience different techniques and treatments are applied meaning I have always received the best and most appropriate care possible.
The focus behind Scott’s work is as much on injury prevention as resolving the complaint being presented. We always work out why and how something has happened in order to work out how to manage the issue and prevent it in future. During my running career I have discovered I am hypermobile and together Scott and I have worked out a routine of strength exercises and muscle activation which has helped me enormously this year.
In my opinion the knowledge and treatment given by Scott has made a huge difference to my running career, with every issue explored and prevented in future as much as possible. The less time I have had off injured this year has helped me reach a marathon PB and I have recommended Scott to almost everyone I know (from ultra-runners to long distance walkers).

Scott is a wonderful physio, massage therapist and all-round human being. Very knowledgeable, and great at giving you exactly what you need, based on what level you're at and what your body responds best to. Also a brilliant dry needle therapist, as well as soft-tissue massage work.
Having run for GB as a junior athlete, I've seen my fair share of physios over the years! Scott is one of the best and also one of the people with whom I've had the best relationship - I look forward to our sessions together.
Would whole heartedly recommend, to everyone from elite/aspiring-elite runner through to occasional jogger.
E. M.
Was recommended to see Scott after 6 months of little to no progress with other physios for a hamstring issue.
His approach is fantastic and suited me really well, his knowledge (particularly running) is fantastic. Had a tailored programme that he adjusted as I progressed. Happy to say I’m back running and Scott has played a big part. Thanks!
T. S.
Scott is undoubtably the best running physio I've used. He was able to help me quickly negotiate a return from a very tricky patella issue caused by a nasty fall on tarmac.
He himself is a very talented runner which adds an extra dimension to his approach - sometimes physios are quick to tell you to stop running. Scott is aware of what "you can't run for a couple of weeks" truly means to a runner so you know that if that is his advice, then it's not been under-thought.
Conversely, he absolutely encourages you to get back to running as soon as it makes sense and was able to tailor a plan for me to safely get back into things.
Highly recommended.
B. J.
I went to see Scott last week with shin pain that had appeared in the final few days before a key race. Scott was quick to get back to me and schedule an appointment.
After a few questions and examining the area he was able to quickly pinpoint the issue, offering honest and helpful advice to allow me to manage the problem. With a mixture of sports massage and manipulating the ankle joint he was able to offer some instant relief to the problem as well as guidance on probable causes. Three days later, I was not only able to race unhindered but broke my half marathon PB!
Scott is a keen runner himself and understands the needs of runners. He offered honest, professional advice, explaining the reasoning behind his diagnosis in a clear and understandable way. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to any runner in need of a physio!
M.
A great team of physios, who are highly experienced treating runners and dealing with the specific problems we deal with. Having seen Scott for the last few months I can highly recommend him as a thorough physio who is personally invested in his clients and their recovery/success.

Scott was able to diagnose my injury and devise a rehabilitation routine that progressed over time, and allowed me to preserve a base level of running.
Over the course of around 8-10 weeks Scott helped me to structure the re-introduction of more running into my weekly schedule. As a runner himself, Scott understands the desire to get back training quickly, and helps to manage the resumption of proper training in a controlled way.
After each session Scott provided me with a detailed electronic report with short videos of the exercises I need to do, along with his own specific pointers on technique and advice on reps, frequency etc.
I would not hesitate in recommending Scott if you are having any injury issues, particularly running. You will only regret not going sooner.
A. D.
I went to Scott with a painful knee that I had been persevering with for 6/7 months. I had previosuly seen other physiotherapists who weren't able to adequately diagnose/solve my issue.
However, Scott quickly found the cause of my problem and gave me a programme to follow that resulted in a vast improvement in a short period of time.
I am now running pain free as a result of Scott's expertise and I cannot recommend him enough. Professional, personable and dedicated to helping his client's - he will be my first port-of-call should I have any issues in the future.
M. D.
Highly recommend Scott. He has been my go-to running physio for the last few years. He is very knowledgable, thorough and easy to work with. I have recently had a long term injury and Scotts support has been fantastic! He has been incredibly patient and understanding of all my questions and has gone out of his way to help get me get back to running again. I cant thank him enough.
V. D.
I’ve seen Scott Newton several times over the past 4-5 years, and he’s always provided fantastic and always very relevant physio advice, treatment, exercises and encouragement which have hugely helped my running and treated various injuries. Due to the current situation, we recently replaced a clinic appointment with an online video consultation. Although I wasn’t sure how this would work, I just wanted to share that I can thoroughly recommend this type of consultation. The video link-up system was easy to access, very clear quality and exactly like speaking face to face. Scott was able to recommend and demonstrate exercises and correct body posture just as he would have done had I seen him in clinic. It was also really helpful to review videos of particular exercises together by screen sharing, which helped me understand better why they were important and tailored to my issues. Don’t hesitate, it really works!

I’ve had two sessions with Scott - one in person and one online via Zoom. Both have been excellent, and already I’m seeing a huge difference. I have had reoccurring knee pain and lately had developed a number of other niggles and I was concerned that I was going to develop a more serious injury. The sessions with Scott have had a rapid positive effect. I wasn’t sure how working with a physio / run coach by Zoom would be, but it worked well.
B. H.
Scott has been absolutely amazing in helping me with an injury. Could not have asked for anything more. He consulted with me over video in an emergency, got me an appointment with a fantastic specialist for further MRI diagnosis and has himself been extremely knowledgable, helpful and available in coming up with and steering my rehab program. Thank you Scott!

I visited Run-Fast Sports Clinic as I had injured my right knee at the Paris Marathon in 2017, and was unable to run for a number of weeks after.
Having never undertaken Physio before, I wasn't sure what to expect or if if to would help. Thankfully Scott was extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem as ITB friction-compression syndrome and provide a rehab program to complete at home.
The physio worked and I was able to complete the Brighton Marathon injury free and most importantly with a 23 minute PB.
Would recommend to anyone.

Following a horror-streak of injuries that stopped me running (or even walking without pain), I had tried several physios and osteopaths before a talented running friend recommended Scott Newton and the Run-Fast Sports Clinic. I've now just finished a two-month program and now running again thanks to Scott.
I can't recommend him highly enough. The assessment is super thorough but friendly and it's incredible to watch him zero in on the problem before deciding treatment. Treatment (for me) was a mix of hands-on manipulation and a personalised set of exercises. You get an online log-in to your program with details of not only how to do each exercise but also how you should increase intensity over the program. This was great to download and look at on my smartphone in the gym - such a helpful idea. We worked together to adapt the program to my needs over the course of the treatment, which is great.
Treatment is not cheap but worth every penny and delivered clear results for me personally. I greatly appreciated that Scott also immediately set a limit to the total number of sessions I would have with him, to keep the costs at a reasonable level. This is a very different approach to those practitioners who keep you coming back indefinitely with indifferent results.
Scott is an elite runner himself who understands why we love our sport. This really comes through in the treatment. I would give 6 stars if I could as I believe this is among the best sports clinics in the country.

Scott Newton is my number one, go-to running injuries expert. As a sports doctor, I know I can trust in his skills and expertise to help rehabilitate my injured runners, and what Scott doesn't know about running, isn't worth knowing! Runners want to be treated by runners, and if you'e ever had a recurrent shin splints, ITBand or a plantar fascia problem that's not been overcome with treatment elsewhere, then Scott's your man! He'll help you mend, and turn you into a better runner too!
M. W.
Highly recommended. I regularly see Scott for physio and massage treatments, he is great at targeting and dealing with problem areas. He is an accomplished runner himself and helped me to run sub3hr marathon this spring. Not only physically, but some good mental prep too.
K. D.
Great physio experience. Scott was great at identifying the root of my hip injury. Gave me excercises to do on my own time, and gave me great advice at to what I should stop and start doing, which I think has helped speed up the healing process.
Would highly reccomend, even if you're a beguinner runner like myself.
Facilities are great- has a cafe, a shop, and even a running club which I hope to join once fully healed.
J. H.
i am in no way an elite runner but love running as a hobby and a way of keeping both fit and sane. I picked up a calf strain whilst running and six weeks later I was still limping when I walked and despite a couple of attempts, running was impossible. Luckily I visited Scott who had me running again (albeit in a patient, managed way) after two weeks. Scott is incredibly easy to work with, professional and fun. I absolutely recommend Scott to anyone frustrated by any injury.
N. R.
I was first treated by Scott at RFSC for a stress induced injury that I had caused to myself through over-training. All throughout my recovery he really managed my expectations and gave me a great rehab exercise programme. I am now back to full strength and regularly running but if I experience any niggles that cause me worry I book in with him straight away. His advice is invaluable and because he's an experienced athlete I know that he understands my concerns and needs.
川.
I was recommended Scott by my friend as I had issue with my injuries of my leg.
I had another injuries of my ankle so I went back to see Scott.
He recommended me to go to specialist first to find out my ankle issue and made recovery exercise for me. It was a fast recovery!

Excellent physio from a seasoned runner. I recently joined Scott for a very effective online appointment. I was curious how this would work virtually, but Scott made the process work very well.
F. L.
I’ve been seeing Scott for a couple of years. He has helped me recover from a few injuries with success. He always tries to go to the roots of the issues during the consultation and gives a complete rehab program. I’d highly recommend his service!
J. P.
Went to see Scott Newton to sort out a recurring injury associated with long distance running. He helped me with a great running plan, specialised leg exercises and a catered work out just for me. He was easy to work with, very knowledgable and since seeing him have had no more sports injuries. 10/10
A. S.
Good specific information and set me up with a good plan. Scott even went 20 minutes into his lunch break to answer all my questions.
A.
Suffered with shin splints for years and was close to abandoning running altogether. Scott has helped me overcome this and am now running faster than ever!
J. T.
Scott helped me rehab an ongoing ankle injury, preparing me for an international race. Best running physio in town!
