Been a client of Alex and Enliven Health for a good few years now. Aged 63 former chronic back problems man. I have been pain free since doing an hour a week and adding strength to my core. It should be compulsory! Alex is a trained physio and is passionate about how Pilates fits into overall health. She specializes in womens health but has made my feel welcome and I cannot recommend her classes highly enough. They have changed my life. Thanks Alex xx

After the birth of my second child I came to Alex for the Mummy MOT and am now continuing with regular sessions to address my specific issues. Alex is friendly, very professional and knowledgeable, and obviously enjoys what she does tremendously! She listens really attentively, and provides a series of recommended exercises and stretches all of which can be accessed on a handy site from home. If you're looking for someone who understands pregnancy and post natal issues, and has the knowledge and expertise to do something about them, then look no further!

After having back problems for over a decade and seeing many different physios, chiropractors and other specialists I was sent to a pain management residential programme where it was recommended I do APPI Pilates! Luckily for me there was Alex just down the road from me as this is a specialist area. I had an initial consultation which was so relaxed even though in a very anxious person. Alex was so friendly and warm. I now attended weekly Pilates classes to try and strengthen my core. My 13 year old daughter has the exact same problems as me and a few more so I took her to see Alex. My daughter felt at ease and now joins me at the classes. It's such a small group that Alex can check us all individually to make sure we are all doing it right. I can highly recommend Enliven Health and Alex.

I have recently joined Enliven Classes after my previous Pilates Teacher just "left" overnight some months ago. Alex is incredibly Professional and friendly and with also being a qualified Physio she totally and quickly understands any issues with injuries, pain and restrictions in movement. In class she pays close attention to every person and any conditions. I know Pilates helps my knee condition and I have missed not being able to do it for some months and I am so happy to have found such a great teacher so local to me. At the initial appointment I had the most thorough initial test that I have ever had(I have used various physios/osteopaths), followed by a well explained treatment, with a home plan. I caught meningitis 6 years ago which left me barely able to walk. I need regular physio to improve my flexibility and strength and to stimulate nerves which don't fire properly. I'd been struggling to relate to the physio I had when I got Alex's advertisement through the post. I gave it a go, and now cannot recommend her highly enough. The structured, challenging, imaginative and enthusiastic approach works really well for me and motivates me to do more at home too. My dream combination of physio, Pilates teacher and trained to do acupuncture! I had an initial assessment that was really comprehensive and Alex really listened and understood my problems. She gave me some acupuncture, physio massage and showed me a few Pilates exercises to go at home. The clinic is lovely with lots of free parking nearby. I also joined one of her Clinical Pilates classes. These are held in small venues and class size kept small so we have very individualised attention. We have progressed in each class and I feel I have a toolbox of skills to manage my pain. I am sleeping better and use fewer painkillers. It's the small details that really reflect the quality of Alex's work. Supplying water at the classes means I just have to arrive and she gives print outs of the exercises to work on at home if we wish.

What a wonderful find! This is a gorgeous centre, beautifully appointed, and Alex is a true professional. She fitted me in for my assessment at short notice and used every second (as I could only manage a short appointment), giving me clear, constructive advice and practical suggestions. I have now begun having scar tissue massage (after three breast cancer operations) with Lorraine and it is Really helping! I am surprised and delighted with the progress after only one session: smoothing out little bumps and knotty areas so that the scar is flatter and more comfortable and breaking down the hard areas in my actual breast so gently that it’s hard to believe it will work - yet it Is working really well! Alex and Lorraine are both lovely, friendly, efficient, kind and caring and very good at what they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Alex is fantastic! Professional, knowledgeable and very approachable. The Mummy MOT is an absolutely invaluable service. It should absolutely be part of every single women's post natal recovery. At your 6 week post natal check GP's rarely check your tummy for ab separation and don't ask the right questions about pelvic floor health. You get sent away with kegels to perform and that's it. The Mummy MOT goes much deeper and provides actual information about your body and how well your pelvic floor and core is functioning. Throughout the Mummy MOT Alex is very reassuring and puts you very at ease, she then provides an amazing step by step recovery plan that is very easy to follow and fit in. Can't recommend highly enough.

I have danced all my life (ballet) and now being an adult dancer find it very difficult to locate good classes locally - so finding out about and joining the Reformer Pilates sessions held at Enliven Health was like winning the lottery - simply the best find I've had for a very long time. Since starting last September I have found a new form of exercise which dovetails perfectly with dance and has made a real difference to me. Not only is the teaching excellent and fun, the classes are varied and they "work" - I've also lost inches since attending! Its a brilliant way to tone up; great for developing core strength and better muscle tone whilst actually being a relaxing form of exercise - true, it's not all plain sailing and it can be tough going, but if you stick at it and do it properly, you won't find a better.I would thoroughly recommend it. Alex is an excellent Pilates teacher - encouraging, effective and supportive. I've benefited considerably from her classes. My only comment would be that we do tend to do the same things each week and I would like to step up a level if at all possible, otherwise I won't feel as if I'm progressing and will lose interest. I've been seeing Alex for a few years and I can only say I wish I found her sooner. I was lucky enough to find Alex pre surgery for Endometriosis. She helped down regulate my system and help me get to a place where surgery would be most beneficial. She also supported me post surgery and once we felt my body was ready, I started Reformers Pilates. I love the classes, my body composition has completely changed and my pain is much more manageable. I cannot recommend Alex enough, I have been suffering disc issues in my lower back for almost three years and was beginning to lose hope. I have been seeing Alex for a few months now for clinical pilates and physiotherapy and the results have been amazing. When I started seeing her I could barely walk for 15 minutes without being in pain, now I am almost back to my former active self. I have seen many physios in the last few years and Alex is by far the best. She listens to everything you say and she adjusts the treatment plan based on how you are on the day. I improve every time I see Alex and the exercise plan she has given me to follow at home is great. If you are suffering from lower back issues, definitely go and see Alex!

I attend Alex's weekly Pilates class and always enjoy it. The sessions are structured so that each exercise builds up in increments for all levels. This means individuals can choose whether to stay at a level or progress to the next one. I can always tell if I miss a week or two as I am far less supple and begin to get backache again. Alex's classes ensure I maintain optimum fitness.
