Excellent. I had a course of 6 acupuncture treatments for arthritis in my hands. The treatments have reduced my pain to more manageable levels. James was great in not only the acupuncture but also providing exercises for my shoulders and knees. The communication from James and the team is great. I particularly like the online guide to the exercises which help you remember the details of the moves.

I went to see Michael twice after I began to suffer knee pain. After the first session he had identified the issue and a week later I went back for my second session and then issue had began to heal and now is completely gone. I attended JL PhysioFit for acupuncture as a means of pain relief due to having fibromyalgia. I was fortunate to have James as my "therapist" and over 5 sessions built up a really good relationship with him and the acupuncture worked really well. In addition, James provided advice on certain exercises to help build up muscle strength. One of the reasons I chose PhysioFit was due to it's location and being able to park without any hassle. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and the premises are done to a high standard. There is even a stair lift for those not quite so able. As a medical professional, I would certainly recommend JL PhysioFit !

Michael found the time to administer three intensive therapy sessions over ten days to get me back in the game and I managed to get through my ski holiday with (almost!) no pain. I went to see James at JL PhysioFit for back pain that I was experiencing, causing me great discomfort. After the very first session to help relieve the pain through massage, it was immeasurably better. James is extremely knowledgeable, and gave fantastic advice about what could have been causing the pain, and through discussion around stretching, and small changes I could make in the way that I manage the issue day to day, it continues to be less of a problem. After every session I’ve had with James since, the time between noticing the pain and requiring any assistance lengthens. I genuinely can’t recommend James and the team at JL PhysioFit highly enough.

Since October 2021 I have been attending JL Physiofit Pilates classes. Each week I look forward to the class and I have definitely improved in my flexibility, balance and core strength. I have recently been treated by James and I found his treatment excellent. James was very thorough in his assessment and his knowledge base was fantastic. He helped me understand my issue in a way I could relate, which I found other physiotherapist I have seen did not. My appointment was on time, no long wait sitting in waiting rooms, Michael completely understood my personal circumstances with my back issue, he listened to me about the issues I have been having, he then gave me a technical overview of the likely cause / issue, he gave me some treatment which helped with the pain and discomfort and designed a plan for me to cater for it going forward with a goal to build up my flexibility and core strength, very professional throughout, this has helped immensely and I am glad to say I am feeling healthy and pain free again. I really enjoy the sessions and already I can feel both the health and physical benefits pilates has to offer. The classes are not too big which is great and therefore the instructors (all of whom are qualified physiotherapists) can really devote time to you individually. Went to see James for a lower back pain that has troubled me for years. Always had physio on and off through the years, which does help with pain management but his approach was different. He took the time to explain not only the diagnosis but what was driving the problem and how to get truly better. I’ve just finished a 12 session rehab programme and my back is feeling great. I understand now why I’m doing an exercise and how to progress it on so I continue to strengthen. Would highly recommend JL PhysioFit, thank you for all you have done James.

I went to James after struggling for years with a long term golfing shoulder injury, after assessing the injury I underwent hands on treatment and worked through rehabilitation exercises in the studio with James. I saw a vast improvement in performance on the course as well as an immediate easing of the pain and discomfort after play. I cannot recommend Michael highly enough. During my first consultation he quickly identified what was causing the problem and set about developing a programme to deal with the issue. Follow up consultations made sure I was on track and after a few weeks working together the problem had all but gone. However, Michael didn't stop there, he has given me an awarenesses of what to look out for in the future and how to manage my issue on an ongoing basis. If you are in need of physio then I have no hesitation in recommending Michael. If I ever need help again it will be Michael I go to see.

Great set up at JL Physiofit! Had a course of physiotherapy for low back pain that I have had on and off for years. James explained the problem thoroughly and that in order to improve for the long term I would have to introduce exercises regularly into my weekly routine. Treatment involved a combination of dry needling and hands on work before progressing into the studio. I was able to learn the correct technique which allowed me to do my home exercises more effectively. Can’t recommend the practice highly enough. Went to james after my ankle just completely gave way 2 days after a run. Had never experienced this type of pain, no swelling or pain to touch but james identified the problem and put me on a 4-6 week rehab program while also figuring out other corrects that needed to be made through my lower body such as weak glutes causing my continuous hamstring problems, top lad who knows what he’s doing. I’ve seen many physios in the past for an ongoing hamstring problem but for me James is the best physio in Newcastle. His main concern was working out the root cause of the problem so that I knew how to prevent it happening in the future. Thanks to James for both physio treatment and Pilates over the last year or so. I initially got in touch with a recurring shoulder problem which had persisted for a number of months but have had a history or back and knee problems also. In addition to treatments including needling (which was a great pain relief) I was given a number of targeted stretches and exercises which have helped to strengthen the weak points causing the problems. I had read up and had previously been advised on Pilates to help with these issues and had tried classes before but never felt the benefit or felt engaged enough to continue. JLPhysiofit is a great way of incorporating what I needed and also fits around my schedule with online zoom classes in the evening. I can’t recommend James and JLPhysiofit highly enough and would suggest anyone who is looking for help with any pains, ailments or looking for fantastic classes to get in touch!

I work in an office and contacted James at JL PhysioFit during lockdown. I asked if he could provide any support to help our colleagues working from home in unfamiliar and often uncomfortable environments. James was eager to help and recorded some desk based exercises for staff to stretch out and avoid any aches and pains. As well as exercises the video explained how our posture is affected, why we get these niggles and how these can often get worse if we don’t listen to our bodies. Playing golf gave me lower back stiffness so James suggested Pilates. Was a little suspect as never tried before but after even my second session , what a difference. Calf issues for over 3 years finally resolved. Detailed discovery involved run analysis to see how my foot hit the ground at impact, JL recommended new footwear to provide more support when running. A series of dynamic stretches to help mobilise my calf's before running, and prevention methods. 5 sessions and I was sorted, I still sometimes get pain after 45 minutes of running but this is usually due to me neglecting the programme they built for me. Haven't been back since and still running.

I had a flare up of an existing knee problem after a very long (100 mile) charity walk - James identified my glutes as being the root cause and suggested a series of stretches with some resistance bands.
