I went to see Kevin at Athletica after obtaining a nasty knee injury (an MCL tear) through playing roller derby, which had left me hobbling around on crutches, unable to straighten my leg. Over the last 4 months Kev has guided me through rehab, enabling me to get back to running and hopefully skating soon too. I always felt completely confident in Kevin's knowledge and expertise and found his physio sessions very empowering when it came to taking control of my own recovery through the exercise programmes he created for me. As well as really knowing his stuff, Kevin has great chat and is extremely easy to get along with, which made every session pleasant and uplifting even when I felt down about my injury. I had a great experience with Athletica and really don't know what I'd have done without Kev's guidance. Thank you so much - I would fully recommend!

Kevin came highly recommended and didn't disappoint; I had been suffering from severe shoulder pain which was exacerbated by riding my motorcycle and I was also suffering with limited shoulder movement . As I had a big motorcycle trip coming up, this was a big concern - Kevin very quickly diagnosed the root cause and we began a combination of physio at the clinic and a series of exercises which I was able to do at home. Kevin's approach is excellent - he took time to explain (in simple terms for me!) how the muscles inter-react and need to work in harmony and where the problem was located. He's also a really funny guy, so a great combination of really knowing his stuff, whilst having a great bedside manner. It's now 6wks since I started with Kevin and I'm please to say mobility and pain are massively reduced - I'm massively grateful. Cheers Kevin! Mark

I first seen kev when I hurt my heel from football and could hardly walk, with his advise and what to use and do I was back at the exact date he said I would recover on. Following on from that i did my ligaments in my knee and while recovering from that I happened to slip a disc in my back. Safe to say I seen kev a lot over the months, and no matter what I did he got me recovered a hell of a lot quicker than I should of for all 3 injuries. Incredible knowledge and the only person I would ever go see again.

Don't go anywhere else. This guy is the best, simple as that. I have seen a LOT of physios over the years both in London and Yorkshire and Kev is above and beyond all of them. Not only does he really know his stuff, he's a super nice guy and will do everything he can to get you back on track ASAP (including opening up the clinic out of hours for an emergency appointment for me when I pulled my back out!)

Kevin has been fantastic at helping my acute hip pain and chronic back pain. He has great bedside manner and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was able to diagnose and treat my issue quickly. Going to see Kevin Able at Athletica Health was one of the best moves I ever made. After injuring myself, I had four years of massages, hot and cold treatments, acupuncture, exercises, and experiments with insoles, none of which had any effect. Kevin was my last throw of the dice before I gave up and admitted I would never run again. Within half an hour he had diagnosed my problem and suggested a solution. Three months later and I have just completed 5k in 30 minutes. That might not seem like such a big deal but to me it is nothing short of miraculous. I can’t recommend Kevin and Athletica Health enough.

With my various health conditions, I must have seen easily 30 or 40 physiotherapist in three different countries up to now. Never, ever, have I seen anybody like Kevin. He is incredibly thorough, takes the holistic view on all areas of concern while at the same time merely needing minutes to identify the root cause, and how to make it better. Unbelievable. I came to him with pain in my foot, but while he was at it, he gave me a stretch for the pain in my back that practically alleviates my back pain within seconds! I start to wonder where Kevin has been hiding all this time! What is more, he is not one of those people who needs to see you every week to turn your elbow 45 degrees to the left and to the right, to then see you again a week later to do the same thing, charging for every session. Instead, he empowers you to do the right exercises at home to improve your condition yourself, and checks in with you if required, and if there is an actual benefit for the patient to come in person. Did I mention how lovely and just awesome he is? On top of being by far the best physiotherapist I have ever been to see, he is also exceptionally emphatic, funny, and great at making you feel comfortable during the consultation. There's honestly nothing I could think of that I wasn't happy with, and I am recommending Kevin to all my friends, whether they need a physiotherapist or not. :-)

After being to three other professionals I went to see Lucy Gittens, to help me with rehabilitation following a broken ankle I suffered in December 2019. Absolutely superb, and genuinely life-changing. After struggling with intermittent pain and a lack of mobility due to the soft tissue damage for nearly two years, one session with Lucy has readjusted my ankle, knee, and hips, and led me to walking without the dull ache I’d become used to. Supremely professional, good-humoured, and able to give me answers and a regime of exercises that might just get me back to skiing this December. The best money I’ve ever spent. She’s absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Cannot recommend Kev enough….He has worked miracles with my feet. After suffering with Plantar Fascilitis for months I was referred to him from White Rose Clinic. After 3 appointments with him I have gone from hobbling in agony to being able to walk with no pain. Kev did acupuncture on me which was amazing , the benefits were fantastic. I also followed rehab exercises to improve my Achilles tendonitis and PF and now have them to follow whenever I want on an app which is so handy. Kev also explained why my injury had happened in great detail and has given me lots of advice for the future. He’s also such a lovely friendly person and makes you feel comfortable in your consultation. Kev is absolutely brilliant - really listens to your concerns and you feel like he's genuinely made a difference to your problem after each session. I've had trouble with my neck and traps for nearly a year and wasn't satisfied with previous treatments, but already Kev has given me a really great plan of action for treatment. He doesn't rip you off and force you into weekly sessions - he's realistic, matter of fact and just an all round nice guy. Couldn't recommend him more! Also very easy online booking system!

Exceptional clinical knowledge, service and fabulous manner, with a hint of humour thrown in for good measure! We cannot recommend kev @ Athletica health highly enough to parents of young sports people. We believe Kev must be the most specialised, accomplished and experienced physio's in the area for under 18's. We contacted Kev @ athletica health for our 13 year son who had long standing ankle issues, steming from an old fracture which had begun seriously affect his sport, particularly his Rugby. Due to his easy going and appraochable manner combined with a little humour Kev was very quickly able to establish a rapport with our son (something given his age which can be quite difficult!), from there he was able to provide a detailed diagnosis, explanation of our sons issues and prospective treatment plan in easy to understand terms for him & us! When in clinic Kev worked hard to ensure our son felt at ease, supported and comfortable. Kev took time to view our son holistically and despite the seriousness of his ankle issues was able to perform miracles in relation to improving not just these but his overall condition and sporting performance. We were provided with excersice plans, invaluable knowledge, information hints and tips which have really helped to empower our son to help himself and give him confidence in his abilities and outlook toward recovery. We cannot thank you enough Kev and will recommend you to everybody!!

The perfect combination of Form & Function! Kevin & Lucy are superbly effective - 13 days from agony (despite prescription painkillers) and barely able to walk...to planning a ride tomorrow, and hardly noticing my back. Superb! Met Kev by recommendation as I had really bad back pain and was struggling with pain and movement. After 5 sessions my movement has improved and my pain has more or less gone (I was in pain most days and taking strong pain killers). Kev is very knowledgeable and professional and knew exactly what the problem was through examination and discussion. I have had physio before through my work and also my GP without success. I would definitely recommend Kev as his skills have made a huge difference to my mobility, movement and everyday life. I take very little pain killers now and do regular exercise.

In late March after some of the pandemic exercise restrictions were relaxed, I incurred a sudden tennis injury to my lower right leg. It soon became clear this would not clear up without professional help, so I arranged an initial appointment with Lucy, physiotherapist at Athletica. Lucy very quickly narrowed the cause of the injury down to my lack of exercise during the pandemic, causing many of my tendons to tighten up considerably. With Lucy's great expertise after a few appointments involving treatment followed by allocating exercise regimes the injury has cleared up completely. Lucy was able to give me 'reassurances' when I had worries and reservations. So Lucy, I owe you my sincerest thanks for everything you have done to help me recover. I have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend you to anyone I know who have any problems requiring physiotherapy treatment.

Great support and knowledge! I picked up a lower leg injury a few weeks into lock-down. Athletica Health sorted a Skype session, then diagnosed my injury and talked me through a plan, put together an easy to follow rehab program on an app, with which I was quickly the road to recovery, and now a few weeks have passed and I'm back to training and CrossFit once more!
