Great staff and very helpful when we were ordering as I think we were going to order way too much. Very tasty food and plenty for us to try different dishes and still have some left over which we took home. Not too busy for a Friday night either although recommend booking in advance.

A hidden gem in Aberystwyth. Arrived on a Wednesday evening. Looking for a table for one - was no problem and was shown to a table swiftly and efficiently. Waiter from Birmingham had a good approach and was very open to helping accommodate my enquiries for some minor 'off-menu' indulgences. I settled into a Kingfisher in anticipation. Food came within a reasonable length of time. This was the revelation. Portion sizes were generous. Very. Food was presented fresh and hot. Tip: if you like lentils, the Tarka Dahl here is some of the best I've had, and that includes some very swanky London Indian restaurants that just don't or can't get it quite right. The food far exceeded my expectations and the service was excellent. Prices more than reasonable. Recommended. 👌

New ownership and refurbished since the last time I went here with my mates. It's been updated but from my perspective not really improved, service was slow as they seemed to prioritize takeaway orders. The old style wooden tables and chairs with traditional table clothes have been replaced with brightly coloured plastic which are not to my taste but that's just me. The food was ok but not amazing, nothing terrible about the place just not really for me.

Really good curry house. Stopped here while visiting Aber on a Saturday. It was very busy (always a good sign). Quite a small establishment, but very efficiently run by the many staff who were on hand. All very polite and friendly. Highly recommend the Balti, although verging on the spicier side we luckily kept the dips which took the edge off. My only criticism would be the chips that we ordered, despite clearly being listed as "chips" they turned out to be French Fries (weird!). Two curries with chips, 4 poppadoms, tray of dips and two glasses of orange juice came out to £40. Would visit again, but I won't be having chips!

My curry cost £12.00. This appeared on the menu as simply 12 This is as naff as jenga piled chips. The mango chutney tasted like one from tescos with added water. By now I was almost looking forward to writing a scathing revue about the curry.... but it was excellent. Personally I wanted more sauce, and the prawns were a few seconds over, but the balance of the dish was very much there, and this place achieved the rare trick of bistro style fusion with the classic tandoori. A good meal, but pound signs please AND don't put water in the mango chutney.

This was the best Indian cuisine I have ever had. The spices were in perfect harmony and the meat was incredibly tender and juicy. Wow, my partner and I have just been here. It was the tastiest food we have had in a very long time, the waitress was lovely and helpful, we went at just gone 4.30pm and it was quiet so the service was snappy. Superb food. I had paneer tikka for starter and a chicken chilli dish for mains. My wife had onion bhaji, korai chicken and Bombay aloo. All tasted amazing. I've come here with friends and with family. The staff are always very nice and polite. I enjoyed every meal I've had here. My favourite on the menu is the Dansak, which I've had twice here. Onion bajees could either be larger or a few more for a starter. Coconut rice was not on the menu but I ordered and they delivered with great flavour. Nice menu. Down side of the visit was the amount of time for the food to arrive, apparently there was a mix up with the orders (it was busy) which led to a delay of at least 30 minutes in the food arriving. When the food arrived my daughter had to wait another 5 minutes for a plate. At no time were we approached by a member of staff to advise of any problems/mix ups, it was only when paying when we mentioned the delay we received an explanation, which for me is a little late to be saying.

Best Indian in Aberystwyth by miles. Lovely atmosphere and even better food. You should always book in advance though as they always seem to be busy. They offer take away if you do chance it by just walking in and the quality of the take away is just as good as the food you get sitting in. They do seem to offer a delivery service, however it seems to be very sporadic as to when it operates. Stand out dishes are the Tandoori mixed grill and the Chicken Madras.

What a lovely surprise!! I think it was an August Thursday night when we went here for food. It was quite busy. It was honestly the best indian food I have eaten in years!! in a nice modern smart and arty place with at least 3 staff passing me regularly to ask if I needed anything and they all smiled and looked genuinely interested. I was actually disappointed with my husband wanting indian food until I got in here as I was fed up with that type of food in Yorkshire that was the same no matter what dish you ordered. This was a breathe of fresh air and I enjoyed my meal. It was not too heavy or too much, it was just right so I would not hesitate to eat here again. BONUS!! the wine was great, again not the usual watery stuff but delicious red wine. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a very pleasant evening meal in nice surroundings.

The staff where not as friendly as you might expect and the pricing of the menu is very confusing, you should definitely ask for how much your meal costs when ordering. because they will tell you later on that this price is different or you can't have this food with that and that's why it's more. I have coeliac disease (celiac), I ate the Chicken Rogan Josh with steamed rice, it was 100% safe for those who need gluten free meals. Staff informed me everything was gluten free except the breads. Food was delicious and some of the best Indian I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend

Went to the Light of Asia having heard mixed results. The food was nothing special compared with most other Indian restaurants I have been to. It was also expensive compared to other restaurants. The nan bread floated in its own grease and for a nan bread it was very thin and crispy which is not what a nan bread should be!! Don't think I will be visiting there again.

If you have tried the rest now try the best. The Light of Asia has to be one of the best Indian Restaurants in the country & we`ve eaten at lots on our travels. The menu is excellent, the freshly, individual meal cooked to order & the service & staff second to none. We have eaten here for many years & have never had a bad or even poor meal at all. It has recently been refurbished in a very tasteful & modern way without losing the character. The atmosphere is always excellent & the staff work well as a team & are extremely helpful & friendly. I could go on & on about this wonderful restaurant but will leave it for you to visit yourselves & enjoy the excellent food. Enjoy your visit.

Waiting staff are lovely and worked really hard last night the food however for the price we paid I won't be going again. Duck starter was cooked lovely but had no taste. The curry itself was nice we had a lamb dansak and there was plenty of it. However the pilau rice was overcooked and clumped together and the cheese naan made me laugh to be honest because I wasn't expecting to see american/plastic cheese in the middle of it. And it all took way too long to get to the table. The other tables were having a similar problem . The waiting staff need to be paid more because they got a lot slack for issues that was the kitchens staffs fault.
