A lovely, authentic Italian restaurant. The ambience, decorations, and the charming character of the restaurant really gave the feeling of being in Italy. love this place! one of Bedford's best kept secrets. highly rated as the best Italian pasta restaurant in Bedford. Bedford is fondly known as the little Italy of the United Kingdom as stated recently by the BBC. and if you are coming to Bedford for the first time, make sure you pay this hidden gem a visit. rated on the gourmet guide also and completely well deserved. personally I have dined at this restaurant multiple times and I highly recommend the mussels for the starter and the Carbonara is just simply amazing. I normally opt in in for the large glass of house red, I've no idea what it is but it is also simply amazing.

I've been going to this place regularly for years, it's central to town, inexpensive and not crowded, and the food is good from a very worthwhile varied menu. The service today was better than ever, and I'll be back soon.

We had a lovely dinner at Eatalia. Starters were great, especially the garlic bread with cheese, but my tomato and mozzarella could have been cut more nicely. We had lasagnia, which was tasty, a bit fatty and came with nice side salad. Other main was chicken penne. Overall the taste was nice, but peppers seemed overcooked. I would congratulate the staff, because the service was great. Would like to come back to try some desserts.

Wonderful. Lunch menu from 5.99, for a main course with a glass of vino. Just had Penna Pasta Amatricino (?) for 8.99 - really good. Highly recommended. Lunch is a bargain and high quality. I'm delighted to be back after a bad couple of years. I'll be here every time I come shopping.

Intimate venue below ground on Bedford High Street. Food was very good for all 4 of us and well served despite there being too many people for one waitress. If you feel the need for 2m social distancing at the moment this is not the place to go but not a lot can be done in this small venue and still be viable. They do need to get a more powerful air conditioning unit for summer though. Despite all that we would visit again due to the great food and service.

Excellent little hidden gem. Though on Google search under vegan restaurant. This place does pop up it is vegetarian friendly. But minus that mistake on google behalf. Italian restaurant in the heart of Bedford located in the basement of one of the high street buildings. The food is good and the atmosphere is very Italian. Being there i felt actually like in Italy, the restaurant, the music. it was slightly to hot for me, but it was one of the hottest days in uk, so hard to judge. after all 5/5. The service was very nice and kind. Will visit soon again, this time with wife ;)

Came here for lunch with my partner and we were both very impressed. The resturant was lovley and quaint. The food delicious so it was a good job there is plenty of it. We shared a bottle of house white which was very well priced. The waitress made us feel instantly welcomed and was very polite. We would certainly be back for an evening meal. Great value. Lovely restaurant for a romantic dinner. One of our favourite restaurants in Bedford. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is very respectful. It's not the cheapest but the you will feel like every pound you spend there is worth spending. All in one, I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a taste of Italy's finest food. Lovely food and attentive, amenable staff. Lunch is really good value - the cost of most dishes includes a glass of wine, but they'll happily give you a tea or coffee instead. Such a nice find tucked away in the middle of the high street. Down some steps into a delightful cosy Italian eatery. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Food fresh and tasty. Garlic bread and olives complimentary to the table. The bread was so nice. It had flavour. The portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable.

Nice little place but unfortunately they decided to put too many tables into this small place. Upon arrival me and my partner were greeted, we then got shown to our table (turned around) we were seated side by side, straight away I was unhappy with this, as this was like sitting next to a friend at a desk! We sat facing the bar and eventually the waiter came over to take our order for drinks. I had apple juice, and my partner had a diet coke. The diet coke was £2.25, but did they really have to pour the drink into a glass that would have cost no more than £1? Especially in our view? Garlic olives and garlic bread was then served which was a nice touch as my partner loved the olives, I'm not a fan but they were still full of taste. Food was ordered and came over, presentation was amazing and portion size was fair. I started my meal, then when each and every customer came in, they were standing directly in front of us, talking and taking their coats off while we were trying to eat, we were sitting closer to the entrance than the people who had just walked in, this really annoyed me and felt inappropriate. We went out for a nice meal, but might as well taken it out and sat on the curb. Unfortunately I will not be visiting this place again unless they seriously consider their customers needs and reduce the amount of tables they have in the place. One table was directly next to a 5ft bar, another was placed in front of the steps where waiters and waitresses came down. This ruined the night for me so we only had our main course and left.

Travelled to Bedford especially for this! Very very tasty food, probably the best Italian food I've ever eaten and I've been to Italy three times. Music was slightly intrusive and we couldn't pay by card which was annoying, but minor inconveniences - the waitress did turn the music down for us and I have been before when the card machine was working. Always empty when we go and I'm not sure why. Go here and try the mushroom risotto!

This was the first time I've eaten here. I met a friend for lunch. The specials menu is reasonably priced. For both of us the portions were the right size for lunch. The food was tasty. I ordered a plate of linguine with a rich creamy sauce and a very generous supply of mushrooms. My friend ordered a panini. We met to catch up on each other's news and the service while attentive was unobtrusive so we had plenty of time to chat.

Happened to find it by chance on the High street. The restaurant is below ground level so you might not get a phone signal. We were greeted by the staff and seated....The staff were very good..... warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A free glass of wine came with our meal I'm not sure if this is just a lunch time offer I ordered the garlic with cheese .was not the greatest garlic cheese I've ever had...but that's just my opinion If your Vegan. They can accommodate you As it's on the main road you can find paid parking a few minutes walk away around the corner

What a little gem we found on Saturday when we saw the entrance to this restaurant. The setting was lovely, the staff were friendly, the menu was plentifuland the food was delicious. We had 2 meals. 2 coffees and 2 wines for just over £20. Excellent value. We will be back.

The outside is deceptive - a cracked door on the high street leading onto cellar stairs - but the comfortable, clean and charming little restaurant at the bottom is well worth discovering. I've been to Eatalia for lunch a year or two ago and again this week for dinner with friends, and the food has been consistently excellent - hot, fresh, delicious, simply but appetisingly presented and beautifully balanced. We were particularly impressed with the service, with a single waiter (they are currently advertising for more staff) serving us and about six other tables while remaining calm, relaxed and friendly, with the perfect level of attentiveness - not intrusive but never keeping us waiting.

Amazing experience, like an expensive traditional restaurant in Italy, with a great value. I've tried so many Italian restaurants and this is one of the best, including the genuine old places in Italy. The food and wine taste so genuine and the whole Italian staff is so friendly, especially the waitress Mary and her lovely smile and kindness. They provide a fast service, the place is small and cosy, with Italian music in the background. It's located on the High Street, very central and close to I totally recommend this place.

This is the first time I've been here, and it was a brief visit but the atmosphere was lovely, helped by the intimate location downstairs, the staff were extremely warm and welcoming and though I didn't try an extensive amount of the menu (this was a lunchtime visit to note), it was obvious that this place really caters for vegans with enthusiasm rather than disdain! Great for a late lunch! Lovely atmosphere. All the pastas on the lunch menu come with a glass of wine and all paninis come with a free hot drink. The pastas are great value with good portions I had a garlic chilli and parsley spaghetti with a glass of rosè for £4.99 and loved it. It is a lovely restaurant so nice for dining and friendly staff, yet such reasonable prices. Also they are on tastecard so if you have one you can get two for one although, it is polite to tell the waitor before you order. The outside does not represent how nice it is inside, not that big but lots of mirrors making it seem bigger and tables still have lots of space.

Eatalia is a little gem on the high street of Bedford, down the stairs takes you to a small room with brick built arches and a cozy atmosphere. Our first time here but what an amazing experience! We kept getting mesmerised from the first time we started to go downstairs up and till the end! We love the atmosphere and the customer service was outstanding! We had melanzana for starter which we loved! We usually love Italian food and it’s not always easy to please us when it comes to this particular cuisine but we loved the freshness of the food! We then had a steak from special which was cooked to perfection paying attention to the comments I made (pink no blood) and the spaghetti bolognese was cooked Al dente and the souce was fresh and you can tell everything was Home made! The bottle of whine (valpalacella) was beautiful! I have to admit I was a little spectacle when the bottle came already open as I don’t usually like that but this time I was proven wrong as the whine was even better than what I was expecting. Last but not least, we thought we would give their deserts a test! Omg their teramisu was soooooo amazing! “Almost” as good as my mama’s! Absolutely loved everything, it was our first time but won’t be the last!
